Illegally Blonde … Oscar Winning Actress Reese Witherspoon & Hubby James Toth Arrested, Charged with Disorderly Conduct and DUI, Respectively (Update: Witherspoon Apologizes)

It would appear that Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon’s husband James Toth could not “Walk the Line” during the early Friday morning a field sobriety test by police in Atlanta, GA.

Reese Witherspoon, 37, and her husband James Toth, 42, were arrested Friday morning after their car was pulled over by police for not staying in its lane. According to the police report, the driver of the vehicle, James Toth, had droopy eyelids, watery, bloodshot eyes, and his breath smelled strongly of alcohol. Before the field sobriety test began, Witherspoon got out of the car, but was told to get back in by police, which she did. However according to the report, as the test continued, “Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and mock the officer saying that she did not believe that I was a real police officer.  Just what you need to tell  Georgia State trooper. Brilliant Reese. The officer stated that Toth told him he only had one drink, but as first reported by Variety,  when given a Breathalyzer test, Toth’s blood alcohol level was .139. Oops, not even Elle Woods is going to get you out of that one.

Hey Reese, you might want to go back and take a look at the below video and remember what it was like before you hit it really big and be humble

As James Toth was being arrested for DUI, Witherspoon then got out of the car again after being told to return to the car. Witherspoon stated that she was a “US Citizen’ and that she was allowed to stand on American ground.” Yes you are Reese, and the police are also allowed to arrest you, which they did. Reese Witherspoon was charged with disorderly conduct. Toth was then placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain the lane.

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after a state trooper said she wouldn’t stay in the car while her husband was given a field sobriety test in Atlanta.

Witherspoon was released from jail after the Friday morning arrest and was in New York Sunday night for the premiere of her new film “Mud.” She posed for cameras on the red carpet but did not stop to talk to reporters.

The trooper noticed the car driven by her husband wasn’t staying in its lane early Friday morning, so a traffic stop was initiated. Her husband, James Toth, had droopy eyelids, watery, bloodshot eyes, and his breath smelled strongly of alcohol, according to the report.

It would appear that there were no lessons learned from Witherspoon’s role in ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ where the point of the movie was to remember your roots. According to the police report when the police began to arrest Witherspoon, she did her best John Kerry imitation of, don’t you know who I am and played the elitist Hollywood celebrity card. Just a note to Miss Witherspoon, that never works with Georgia state troopers. Just saying. How sad, it looks like some one has forgot their Southern up-bringing in Nashville, TN.

Do you know my name?” Witherspoon is quoted as asking the trooper. She also said: “You’re about to find out who I am” and “You’re about to be on national news.”

UPDATE I: Reese Witherspoon ‘Deeply Embarrassed’ About Disorderly Conduct Arrest- “But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said.”

The apology came after Witherspoon and Toth’s mugshots in the incident leaked and news emerged of the couple’s arrest and brief jailing on Friday morning in Atlanta. Variety, which broke the story, reported that police spotted the couple’s silver Ford Fusion weaving in and out of lanes and pulled them over. As officers were speaking to Toth, an agitated Witherspoon reportedly stuck her head out of the window and said she did not believe the arresting officer was really a cop. After stating that she was a U.S. citizen and that she as allowed to “stand on American ground,” Witherspoon reportedly said to the officer, “Do you know my name?,” at which point he responded, “No, I don’t need to know your name.”

Legendary Sportscaster Al Michaels Arrested and Charged with Suspicion of DUI in Southern California

Do you believe in Miracles DUI, YES!

Emmy award winning legendary sports broadcaster, NBC Sunday Night Football play-by-play announcer Al Michaels and the individual most known for his 1980 Winter Olympics USA hockey team Miracle on Ice call … “Do you believe in miracles” was  arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI in Southern California on Friday night. The 68 year old Michaels was charged with misdemeanor DUI and spent approximately five hours in the Santa Monica City Jail. He was released early Saturday morning on his own recognizance. Michael’s is scheduled to appear at Los Angeles Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. on June 26.

Sgt. Ryan Gradle said Michaels, the current play-by-play announcer for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” was extremely cooperative and was released on his own recognizance Saturday morning.

Michaels was arrested shortly before 10 p.m., then spent a little more than five hours in the Santa Monica City Jail, the Los Angeles Inmate Information Center said.

According to CBS Sports, Michaels was evaluated for suspicion of DUI, brought to the station for a Breathalyzer test, and it came out .08, which was at the legal limit. Hmm, so how are they going to get this to stick? It would appear that 4 to 5 hours transpired between the time of the arrest and the time in which the Breathalyzer test took place.

Sorry, the VIDEO below has nothing to do with Al Michaels’ DUI, but any time I can show or reference ‘Miracle on Ice,’ the greatest US sporting moment in history and the greatest upset of all time, I take the opportunity to do so.
