Here’s Something You Never Hear, Death Penalty Deters Crime
The death penalty deters crime? Talk about a non-PC study on crime. Usually we are told just the opposite that the death penalty does not deter crime and that its an inhumane form of punishment. However, according to the following study the death penalty does deter crime. The anti-death penalty crowd will be in a furor over this.
What gets little notice, however, is a series of academic studies over the last half-dozen years that claim to settle a once hotly debated argument – whether the death penalty acts as a deterrent to murder. The analysis say yes. They count between three and 18 lives that would be saved by the execution of each convicted killer.
“Science does really draw a conclusion. It did. There is no question about it,” said Naci Mocan, an economics professor at the University of Colorado at Denver. “The conclusion is there is a deterrent effect.” (AP via Yahoo News)

LOL, where did that idea ever come from?
I worked in the Corrections field for many years and I do realize that almost all the studies say that the death
penalty does not deter crime especially homicide because so many times it is a crime of passion.
But if you would stop all the civil rights BS and execute the offender within 30 days to 6 months after the conviction and make it hit the media then the perps would really have to think about it .
I have heard many say that they will still outlive the
judge even being convicted of a murder .
I think it is quite obvious that what our justice system is doing at present is just NOT working . JMO
I have always disagreed with people who say the death penalty does not deter crime….it does, and if you speed things up…we would find it deters it even more.
Should be a automatic death sentence on child predators that rape and kill young children. There is no rehabilitation for these sick monsters. Over and Over again they commit the same crimes.
Sounds good, death penalty. I like the idea. Don’t know if it would slow crime down but they need to be put down quickly, please. They are beyond help. They don’t need to be in court and death row for years.
Do you think if J2K were given the death penalty it would deter their criminal activities? The sooner those savages are brought to justice, the better
#6 I will answer your question.
It is an obvious answer, yes it would deter their criminal
activities in the case of J2K.
It would deter the criminal activities not just for J2K but for anyone.
The reason is, that it is pretty hard for a criminal to repeat and commit crimes once the sentence is carried out. i.e. it is hard for dead people to commit crimes.
Therefore, I subkit that the death penalty is a deterrant. That person put to death for his crime will not kill again.
It’s as plain and simple as that.
And yes J2K should get the death penalty.
