Is the Massachusetts Governor Race Now in Play … Republican Charles Baker Pulls Even with Incumbent Democrat Governor Deval Patrick
More trouble for Democrats leading up to the 2010 midterm elections … Another Tea Party in Massachusetts.
Could there be another Boston Tea Party this year in the Massachusetts Governors race? Could there be another Scott Brown moment this November? According to a new Boston Globe poll, Republican Charles D. Baker has pulled even with incumbent, Democrat Governor Deval Patrick in the Massachusetts gubernatorial race. The Globe must be nashing their teeth on this one, the LEFT can hardly claim that the poll is Tea Party or right leaning.
The poll results also suggest that independent Timothy P. Cahill is pulling voters equally from Baker and Patrick, raising questions about the conventional political thinking that his candidacy is undercutting Baker’s chance to defeat the governor in the Nov. 2 election.
In the Globe poll, taken last week, Patrick, a Democrat, won support from 35 percent of likely voters, compared with 34 percent for Baker, a statistical tie given the poll’s margin of error. Cahill, the state treasurer who left the Democratic Party last year, continued to lag far behind with 11 percent. Green-Rainbow candidate Jill Stein got 4 percent, and 14 percent said they remain undecided.
Rasmussen has the race as a 3% point lead for Deval Patrick; however, the polling data hardly looks favorable for Democrats Patrick or President Obama. In fact, one would almost question that the data is from the “blue” state of Massachusetts. However, this is the state of the political environment against incumbent Democrats.
With less than 40 days to go before the 2010 midterm elections, the polls are trending against Deval Patrick and the momentum seems to be on the side of Republican Charles Baker. Voter turn out and enthusiasm will be the key in 2010 and according to the Globe, the current trend favors Baker as Republicans are much more enthusiastic about the election than Democrats. Patrick is also having polling issues with independents, as are most Democrats this election cycle.
Some 78 percent of likely GOP voters say they are excited about the race, compared with only 37 percent of likely Democratic voters. Among the subset of 245 voters surveyed who said they were excited about the race, Baker beat Patrick, 52 to 25 percent.
“The energy in this election is certainly on the Republican side,’’ said Andrew E. Smith, director of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, which conducted the poll for the Globe.
More terrible polling numbers for Patrick and the reverse negative Obama coattails:
Smith said that one of the most significant findings — especially damaging to Patrick as he celebrates the state’s recent economic gains — is that voters are still pessimistic about the direction of the state’s economy. More than half of respondents, 59 percent, cited jobs and the economy as the most important problem facing Massachusetts, far more than any other issue.
Patrick has other hurdles, notably a prevailing anti-incumbent mood. A majority of likely voters polled, 52 percent, said they want a new group of leaders in Washington and Massachusetts; only 29 percent said they trust the current leadership. Patrick’s job approval rating continues to remains low, as well. Only 40 percent of likely voters say they approve of the job he is doing, while 48 percent disapprove.
Will Obama go to Massuchusettsand work his miracles like he did for Martha Coakly against Scott Brown. Oh, that’s right … the Democrats lost the UIS Senate seat formerly held by Ted Kennedy.

As I mentioned in earlier post on another thread, Mass Citizens are generally and overall VERY disappointed in the leadership of Gov. Deval Patrick overall.
Funny thing is, he was so welcomed as the State’s First Black Gov-Elect when he was running. Same situation when compared with our current President.
It’s not a news flash that Massachusetts bleeds bright blue and has been forever known as a very liberal State. What “is news” is that for well over 2 years now-Patrick has time after time proven that he is not a man of his word, made some unpopular decisions, raised taxes where he said he would not (in a State already loaded with one of the absolute HIGHEST Tax rates in the ENTIRE NATION) and moreover—has clearly proven that he is NOT a Governor OF THE PEOPLE. Can we say,
UNPOPULAR? Again, this is the same State that thought that we surely would be forced to take another crony or Liberal Left Dem to replace Sen. Ted Kennedy’s long held seat in Congress. Regardless of Vicki Kennedy’s pledges and who she threw her support behind, Camelot DID end and Rep. Scott Brown was voted in as one of our current Senators.
The numbers and headlines here continue to speak for themselves. This is another article blasting the Jackass that is BARNEY the Purple Dinosuar Frank in yesterday’s Herald:

Guess around this State, the upcoming elections are shaping up to be another case full of surprises when it comes to the actual outcome of elections in MA. The people will always speak up at the polls- and be the true test of where the future is headed when the finals numbers are in.
As Dylan once sang, ” The Times, they are a’changing….”
old devil patrick has been raping the people of Mass. for years. you could probably dig up a trailer load of corruption if you cared to look.
If its got a Democrat tag attached, the people don’t want it.
and folks up here in Boston are paying attention to the climate of politics as usual…
we’re more interested in cleaning house not only on Beacon Hill, but in the U.S. Senate and Congress as well ~
throwing out all the old tea bags and having a new brew…
I’d of preferred a Boston Baked Bean party ~ get the old farts out of their warmed seats.
as NG shared, The Times are a changing…
Duval is in support of illegal immigrants getting licenses and support in their free education, etc… Baker is not nor is Tim for that matter.
#4—Hi, Kitty~~~ Ooops…we have to keep in mind that Deval is insistent on referring to the BOATLOADS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS HERE IN MASS (CRIMMIGRANTS IS WHAT I CALL THEM!)
as: “Undocumented” LMAO~!
Oh, Kitty—what a JOKE and a waste of time this Man has been for our State, which still bleeds bright blue. I think many are finally coming to their senses, however—-what say you?
=) NewGirl
I say when has it ever been right to reward illegal immigrants (undocumented citizens P/C way to word it ~ oh..as you cleverly say… Crimmigrants)? free care, free housing, free this and that? *Obama’s Auntie T. is the Poster Queen of this entitlement attitude and is very proud to take what she feels is rightfully hers ~ and others feel very much the same way… I feel that people do have a right to come here, legally. Legally. Not be rewarded if your illegally here ~ sneaking into our borders, take jobs, food, housing away from some other deserving destitute soul that needs some support and to me, the whole system needs a revamping and cleaning out ~ as that is another book/novel to write about the welfare culture that has sucked off the nipple of Massachusetts system too long and it is out of control… overspending, taxes, pensions that need to be looked at ~ should I go on?
When folks like you and me are working very hard and paying our taxes ~ and these joker politicians are allowing our beloved country to implode? Spiral downward? Print money… to help us get out of our debt?… when it further drives us into bankruptcy? OMG ~ and while I’m at it… When did it ever become okay to dismiss our Federal Laws and not implement them? Why do we have Federal Laws at all if they turn a blind eye to them?…and not allow our local and State Police to do their jobs?… we are becoming a lawless, tolerant society and hon, we’re going down fast… very scary stuff.
I read last night the little newspaper book:
Massachusetts Information for Voters 2010 Ballot Questions ~ State Election Tues. Nov. 2, 2010
I especially took noticer to the last page:
Massachusetts Voters’ Bill of Rights
Your voting rights are protected. These rights are guaranteed to qualified registered voters.
1.- 15.
# 8.
You have the right to vote but must show identification if: you are a first-time voter who registered to vote by mail and did not submit identification with the voter registration form; or your name is on the inactive voter list; or your vote is being challenged; or if requested by a poll worker. Acceptable forms of identification are: Massachusetts driver’s license, other printed documentation containing your name and address such as a recent utility bill, rent receipt on landlord’s letterhead, lease, or a copy of a voter registration acknowledgment or receipt.
the last line:
if you feel that your right to vote has been violated in any way, call the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Elections Division at 1-800-462-VOTE (8683). This call is free within Massachusetts.
WELL Say what? well, girlfriend ~ how about the line with “drivers license”… that piqued my curiosity and the hair on the back of my neck went up… not to mention my antennae ~
No wonder, Duval Patrick is pushing for Illegals to have a drivers license ~ VOTES, VOTES, VOTES!~
This is a joke and an insult to legal American citizens. There’s talk about Massachusetts becoming a sanctuary State… please~ NO.
Why not have each citizen … or those who are illegal to bring their Birth Certificate for one, passport for two, drivers license for three forms of I.D. and then ~ maybe we’ll have a better system for voting in this State if not country… there is probably a better system/document to prove legal citizenship, ideas?
Our voting rights are NOT protected ~ and there is NO guarantee that those voting are Legal Citizens…
I’d like the Boston Globe/Herald to do some investigative reporting to see how many “Illegal” P/C “Undocumented Citizens” are “registered” in every community here in Massachusetts… I think their findings would be very revealing, appalling and down right disgusting.
Beacon Hill and Capitol Hill need to uphold our constitution, and do their jobs proper, get the budget balanced and protect our borders,on and on….
We can make a difference and vote in those who will do so.
now, your turn…
:}

Here you go, Kitty. Look at what was on Michael Graham’s Blog this week (wtkk.com) 96.9FM
http://michaelgraham.com/archives/i-rsquo-m-trying-to-be-nice-deval-but-hellip/
Why, Deval, why? Lies, lies and more lies.
LOVE 96.9 ~ they are spot on. Also WRKO ~ Tom and Tod are really good ~ …
Good question ~ WHY?
We need Jan Brewer to come to Massachusetts ~ Love to meet that woman. She “gets” it.
It certainly is going to be a very interesting Guvnah’s race… Beacon Hill is going to be shaken up and maybe, just maybe, in the House of Reps on Beacon Hill ~ the Codfish will be facing to the RIGHT instead of the LEFT.
