Donald Trump Heads to Louisiana Tomorrow While Barack Obama Golfs & Vacations and Hillary Clinton Rests
HOW SICK IS THIS THAT WE HAVE A TRAGEDY LIKE THE FLOODS IN LOUISIANA AND OBAMA GOLFS ON VACATION AS AMERICANS SUFFER …
Louisiana is suffering through the worst disaster since Hurricane Sandy as more than 20,000 people were displaced in the flooding, 13 people have died and many more are missing. Don’t worry, President Barack Obama does not seem to be phased by the terrible news as he is on his vacation in Martha’s Vineyard yucking it up with lifestyles of the rich and famous.
However, Fox News is reporting that Vice Presidential candidate Governor Mike Pence will be traveling with Donald Trump to Baton Rouge.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and running mate Mike Pence will visit flood-damaged areas of Baton Rouge, La. Friday.
Record flooding across Louisiana has killed at least 13 people. Over 85,000 people have registered for federal disaster assistance, more than 30,000 have been rescued, and an estimated 40,000 homes have been damaged.
Trump addressed the flooding at a rally in Charlotte, N.C. Thursday night, calling Louisiana “a state that is very, very special to me.”
“Though words cannot express the sadness one feels at times like this,” Trump said, “I hope everyone in Louisiana knows that our country is praying for them, and standing with them to help them in these difficult hours.”
However, a spokesman for Louisiana’s governor said his office had not been contacted by the Trump campaign.
Richard Carbo, spokesman for Gov. John Bel Edwards, told the Associated Press Trump was welcome to Louisiana, “but not for a photo-op.” Instead, Carbo proposed Trump “consider volunteering or making a sizable donation to the LA Flood Relief Fund to help the victims of this storm.”
What a double standard we are witness too from the liberal MSM. Remember when the media ripped George W. Bush during Hurricane Katrina and they completely ignore the fact that Barack Obama has all but ignored the Louisiana flooding as he golf and refuses to cut his vacation short.
President George W. Bush was torn to shreds in 2005 by mainstream media commentators for his initial response to Hurricane Katrina – yet President Obama’s detached response to the recent Louisiana floods has been met with resounding silence from those same outlets.
“George Bush doesn’t care about black people” was the shocking charge by singer Kanye West about President Bush’s response to Katrina. West’s was a particularly blunt assessment, but echoed a growing narrative pushed by mainstream media outlets that Bush’s response was out of touch, inept and most of all, he didn’t care about people on the ground.
Much of the media coverage at the time not only criticized Bush for the difficulties the federal government faced in responding to the disaster, but also lambasted him for taking too long to return from vacation and to visit the site on the ground.
When he did return early from vacation, just two days after the disaster hit, he faced further criticism for flying over New Orleans on his way back to Washington D.C. before flying out to visit the victims of the tragedy.
