Democrats take to House floor in ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ Ferguson protest

A handful of Democrats took to the House floor to protest the lack of an indictment in the shooting of an unarmed teen in Ferguson — raising their arms to their chest and displaying open palms in a “Hands up, don’t shoot” gesture.
Among the congressional members to send the not-so-subtle message of alliance with St. Louis-area protesters late Monday night were New York’s Hakeem Jeffries and Yvette Clarke, as well as Texas’ Al Green. ….
