Sanford, FL To Ban Neighborhood Watch From Carrying Guns in the Wake of George Zimmerman Being Found Not Guilty in Death of Trayvon Martin

Imagine what would have happened if there was no gun

The city of Sanford, FL is going to ban neighborhood watch volunteers from carrying guns following the “not guilty” verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial in the death of Trayvon Martin.  Well that makes all the sense in the world that a man was found not guilty of committing a crime in a court of law by a jury of his peers and Sanford is basically going to act as if he was guilty. As stated at Legal Insurrection, Zimmerman successfully and lawfully defended himself against an attacker and possible real harm, maybe even death and Sanford passes a law banning neighborhood watch volunteers from carrying guns.

The city of Sanford is making major changes to its neighborhood watch program, including banning volunteers from carrying guns while on patrol, and forbidding them from pursuing anyone in their neighborhoods. Just curious, what are they allowed to do, watch the thugs rob, beat and kill people?

Just months after George Zimmerman was acquitted of murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the Florida city where the incident occurred intends to ban neighborhood watch members from carrying guns, The Orlando Sentinel reports.

The ban on guns in Sanford, Fla. comes amid other changes, including formal training and volunteer registration, which will be announced in full at a meeting Nov. 5 at City Hall. Residents acting in a neighborhood watch role are also not to follow someone they deem suspicious, according to MSN News.

I am sure thugs, robbers and thieves are just wetting themselves with this news. So let’s understand this, if you are a neighborhood watch volunteer you can’t carry a gun, but if you are not, you can. Boy, there is some logic for you.

Because of the loud mouthed “race baiters” the foolish city council and mayor will make their Neighborhood watch program worthless. This is just what the “race baiters” wanted.

The people of the community need to pack the city hall and tell them not to do it.

I agree about the training to help volunteers to protect their neighborhood, but to remove the ability to follow and observe and to have no protection for themselves is pure PC foolishness.

      What a bunch of idiots!

I think they are supposed to call the police, not attempt to enforce the law themselves.
