Good Riddance …
First the Hollywood Reporter reported that CNN Films would not continue with its upcoming documentary on Hillary Clinton after Academy Award-winning director Charles H. Ferguson chose not to move forward with the project. It would appear that no one was interested in helping make the film, Republicans or Democrats. What, no Hillary infomercial before the election? I guess the media is going to have to find other ways to aid Hillary in 2016.
Can’t you all see the uncanny resemblance between Hillary Clinton and Diane Lane?
Ferguson said he struggled to find sources and interview subjects for the project, as both supporters and opponents of Clinton were unwilling to cooperate, he wrote in a Huffington Post column.
“When I approached people for interviews, I discovered that nobody, and I mean nobody, was interested in helping me make this film. Not Democrats, not Republicans — and certainly nobody who works with the Clintons, wants access to the Clintons, or dreams of a position in a Hillary Clinton administration. Not even journalists who want access, which can easily be taken away,” Ferguson wrote. “I even sensed potential difficulty in licensing archival footage from [Pat Robertson's] CBN and from Fox. After approaching well over a hundred people, only two persons who had ever dealt with Mrs. Clinton would agree to an on-camera interview, and I suspected that even they would back out.”
Ferguson said he became aware, through his work on the film, that both the Republican and Democratic parties didn’t want the film made.
But wait, there is more … Now the Hollywood Reporter is stating that NBC has pulled the plug on the Hillary Clinton miniseries. After NBC and CNN announced in July that they were planning on developing a mini-series and movie on Hillary Clinton, the Republican National Committee promised a backlash and voted to boycott NBC and CNN during the presidential primaries in 2016 if the networks refused to cancel the projects.
NBC has scrapped its controversial Hillary Clinton miniseries project. Hmm, what a coincidence, both movie projects are scraped on the same day.
“After reviewing and prioritizing our slate of movie/miniseries development, we’ve decided that we will no longer continue developing the Hillary Clinton miniseries,” the network said in a statement Monday.
Sources told THR that NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke was not pressuring Greenblatt to drop the mini, but many within the company believed the project would never happen. Fox Television Studios declined to produce the mini, ostensibly for financial and not political reasons. Other studios passed on the project, including NBCUniversal’s own Universal Television. An NBCU source told THR that Burke was aware of the project before Greenblatt announced it, but sources with ties to the network believe Greenblatt did not seek Burke’s blessing or flag the deal before announcing it.
Could not have said it any better than Hot Air does.
The funniest part of CNN and NBC bailing out of these Hillary infomercials is that the RNC is trying to take credit for it. If you read Ed’s post this morning, you know the real reason — Clintonworld froze out the documentary director because they’re fanatic about controlling Hillary’s image, especially before another presidential run. In fact, rumors started swirling weeks ago about NBC possibly canceling the miniseries for that same reason, because they feared reprisals from Bill and Hillary if they went forward which could be “unhelpful” to their corporate interests if she ended up winning in 2016.
Good Triumphs Over Evil … 15 Year Old Christian Lunsford Apologizes & Repays 78 Year Old Widow Tona Herndon Who His Father Had Mugged
GOOD REALLY DOES TRIUMPH OVER EVIL … Son pays for the sins of his father, literally!!!
It is the feel good story of the day and should provide us hope for the future.
First the unthinkable evil … 78 year old Tona Herndon was visiting the grave of her recently departed husband who she had been married to for 60 years. As she lay flowers at the grave she was mugged. What type of dirt-bag does such a thing and robs an old lady at a fresh grave? Talk about a one way ticket to Hell. The unconscionable incident occurred in Bethany, Oklahoma (VIDEO). However, the suspect attempted to use the widow’s credit card at a Walmart and the store’s surveillance video captured him on camera.
“After 60 years, there’s a lot of memories there. That should be a place that she should be able to go to and have peace and comfort. She’ll tell you that’s the closest she can get to him at this point,” Greg Herndon said.
“When someone will go to that point and rob a little old lady at a fresh grave, what is it that they will not do?” Herndon continued.
Thus far, police believe they might have a lead as to the man’s identity. The suspect attempted to use Mrs. Herndon’s credit card at a Walmart and the store’s surveillance video might have captured him on camera.
HOWEVER, GOOD PREVAILS … 15-year old Christian Lunsford was watching television when he saw his father’s mugshot appear on the screen as the man who committed the heinous act of robbing Tona Herndon. The 15 year old boy reached out to the victim and stated, “she needed an apology from someone”. Christian Lunsford met Tona Herndon in a church parking lot and apologized for the sins of his father, who had been absent from his life. Christian’s father had also been in jail a half a dozen times. But the apology was only the first part of the boys amazing act. Christian’s father had given him $250 for his band trip; however, the boy had no idea where the money had come from and was not sure if it may have been a part of the mugging. Christian Lunsford then did something that should bring a smile to all our faces, he gave $250 to 78 year old Tona Herndon. It was not the son’s crime, but he paid the debt anyhow. Talk about the apple falling way far from the tree. Herndon accepted the money and then brings us to the best part of the story … Tona Herndon then gifted the $250 back to the boy to that he could go on his band trip.
The mugger got away with her purse and $700, but not for long. Police caught him, and the news put his mug shot on TV.
Fifteen-year-old Christian Lunsford says the first time he saw the picture, he recognized it “in detail.” He had no doubt that it was his dad.
Christian says his parents divorced when he was two, and his dad has been mostly absent ever since. Last time he heard from him was a few weeks ago. His dad gave him $250 for a band trip Christian really wants to go on.
But that’s been the extent of his parenting recently. In fact, over the years, Christian says his dad has been in and out of jail more than half a dozen times.
“There’s times that you just feel really low, like, ‘Is that going to be me?’” he says. “‘Am I going to end up like that?’”
The apple wants nothing to do with the tree. Which is why, after Christian heard about his dad’s latest crime, he reached out to the victim and asked to meet her in a church parking lot. (Read the full story HERE).
Kansas City Soccer Fans Turns a National Anthem Foul Up into an Amazing and ‘Chilling’ Moment of Patriotism
The following rendition of the United States National Anthem will bring chills, especially when you realize how it all came about. Fans come to the rescue and belt out the National Anthem that was a moving and powerful expression of patriotism.
During Friday’s Sporting KC Major League Soccer game, technical difficulties plagued what was supposed to be a performance by Dr. Cameron Smith. His moment to shine was thwarted by a faulty public address system and two misbehaving microphones. So that’s when the fans in Kansas City decided to step up and deliver a rousing rendition of the song themselves.
The result? As one person who caught it on video put it, “chilling.”
May the force be with you …
How cool is this, The Guardian is reporting that scientists have discovered how to make a lightsaber. Well, at least the technology for the light aspect of the saber, it appears they still need to build the actual weapon and produce the THHHHHHWWWWOM sound made when wielding a lightsaber.
Wannabe Jedi Knights rejoice, for scientists have discovered that the famous lightsaber weapon wielded by Luke Skywalker and his ilk in the long-running space opera saga might one day exist beyond the realms of fiction.
Harvard and MIT physicists writing in the new edition of Nature say they have discovered a way to bind photons together in order to form a new molecule which behaves almost exactly like George Lucas’s deadly devices.
“Most of the properties of light we know about originate from the fact that photons are massless and do not interact,” said Harvard university physics professor Mikhail Lukin. “What we have done is create a special type of medium in which photons interact with each other so strongly that they act as though they have mass, and bind together to form molecules.
Inexplicably, reports suggest that physicists have not yet begun the process of using the technology to build actual lightsaber-style weapons, nor have they perfected the THHHHHHWWWWOM! sound traditionally manifested when duelling Jedis do battle.
