Is Uber-Lib Keith Olbermann Returning to ESPN … Say it Isn’t So!

Keith Olbermann, The worst hire in the world …

The NY Daily News is reporting that Keith Olbermannn may be returning to ESPN.  Olbermann worked at ESPN from from 1992 to 1997 and has expressed recently wanting to return. Are you kidding? Obviously the suits at ESPN have forgot what an obnoxious nuisance and PITA that Olbermann was when he first worked there. Hey ESPN, have you forgot when Olbermann referred  to ESPN’s Bristol, CT headquarters as a “godforsaken place?” Some how this lib is a sought after talent after being ousted from MSNBC and Current TV, Really? I think this tells us more of the direction of ESPN that it does Olbermann. Seriously, why would a network supposed to be about sports hire a liberal moonbat? Count me on the list of watching alternative sports networks if this is the direction that ESPN plans to go.

So this is ESPN’s response to Fox’s August launch of Fox Sports 1?

Olbermann

The Daily News has learned the Worldwide Leader is in serious discussions with Olbermann to host a New York-based late night talk show on ESPN2, according to industry sources. The sources said the situation was still “very fluid” and no decision on green-lighting Olbermann or the project had been made.

If the move is made, it could blunt the buzz Fox hopes to generate with its August launch of Fox Sports 1.

This could be the first shot in an all-sports cable TV war. The sources added that ESPN is also considering unleashing a multimillion-dollar “SportsCenter” advertising campaign/counterattack that would air around the launch of FS1.

Still, the timing of an Olbermann hire would be strange. Last month, Turner Sports hired him to host its Major League Baseball postseason studio show on TBS.

So this is what ESPN thinks is going to restore their viewership, after so many other networks, including NBC and FOX creating competition with sports networks? They have been raiding ESPN’s talent of late in an effort to challenge ESPN for market share. It just goes to show you though that TV exec’s have to be among so of the most stupid individuals alive. Who on early would rehire such a malcontent like Olbermann and some one who is so polarizing with his liberalism. Why would anyone hire some one where automatically 1/2 of America would not watch. ESPN boss John Skipper and the rest of the suits might be the “worst person in the world”.

UPDATE I: Hire Olbermann, but this was the same network who chastised PGA golfer Paul Azinger who criticized President Obama for playing to much golf? And felt the need to apologize for long time sports announcer Brent Musberger’s comments about Miss Alabama Katherine Webb during BCS Champ broadcast … “You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman… Whoa!” Yet they will hire and walking-talking lighting rod for ignorant and inflammatory comments?

Geraldo Rivera Says Al Sharpton And ‘Race Politics’ Forced Florida To Pursue ‘Weak’ Murder Two Case Against George Zimmerman in Death of Trayvon Martin

WOW … not about race eh?

Fox News analyst Geraldo Rivera is never at a loss for words or creating controversy. Rivera stated this morning on Fox & Friends that the second degree murder case against George Zimmerman was created by Al Sharpton and “race politics”. It was that racial agitation and race baiting by Sharpton that fanned the flames it create the scenario why such a weak murder case was brought against Zimmerman (see VIDEO). From the outset MSNBC created a false narrative that Zimmerman was a racist, when the doctored the 911 tapes. Rivera said that he believed that the first prosecutor got it right and that what happened that night between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was self defense.

But what might have been the biggest eye opening comment from Rivera was not about race, but when he said … “I see it a little differently, I see those six ladies putting themselves on that rainy night  in that housing complex that has just been burglarized by 3 or 4 different groups of black youngsters from the adjacent community. Its a dark night, a 6’2″ hoodie wearing stranger is in the immediate housing community. How would the ladies of that jury reacted? I submit that if they were armed they would have shot and killed Trayvon Martin a lot sooner than George Zimmerman did.”

From Mediaite:

Rivera opened the segment by saying that he was not surprised that the judge in the Zimmerman case allowed the jury to consider manslaughter charges because that is the only charge which may apply to the defendant.

“This was a case brought because of political pressure – race politics in this country – I hate to say it,” Rivera said. He added that he holds Sharpton in “higher regard” than most of his colleagues, but he does believe that the MSNBC host’s agitation was the “catalyst” behind Florida state attorney Angela Corey seeking a second degree murder conviction against Zimmerman.

“I believe the original prosecutor got it right – I think it is a self-defense situation,” Rivera added. He said that the prosecution’s “desperation” is apparent in their effort to have the jury consider a variety of lesser charges during deliberation. “They have zero chance of convicting this man on murder,” the Fox host continued.

Finally, Rivera said that the six female jury members will find that Zimmerman was justified in shooting Martin because they would have pulled the trigger in that situation faster than he did.

How could Geraldo Rivera possibly come up with the the idea that it was Al Sharpton who played “race” politics and was the driving force for forcing the prosecution to arrest, try and convict George Zimmerman. Maybe one needs to just watch the video below. Listen to the video below and the Sharpton claims of win at all cost because, “we cannot allow a legal precedent to be established in this city that tells us that it is legal for a man to kill us and tell any story he wants and walks out with the murder weapon”.

In the end Geraldo Rivera said that he thought that George Zimmerman would be acquitted. Rivera believed that it was self defense under Florida law. However, this is Florida and as we learned from the Casey Anthony jury, anything, and I mean anything is possible.

Has This Been a Fair Trial … ‘Justice for Trayvon’: Audio Released of DOJ Member Urging Action against George Zimmerman

JUSTICE?

From the Washington Times reports of the extraordinary intervention by the Justice Department in the pressure campaign leading to the prosecution of George Zimmerman. Since when dies the DOJ get involved with something like this? I guess when if President Barack Obama had s son, he would look like Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman_Martin

The legal watchdog Judicial Watch released an audio recording Thursday of a Department of Justice staffer urging Sanford, Fla., city officials and the minority advocacy group Dream Defenders to seek justice for Trayvon Martin, because “if a community perceives that there’s something wrong in the black community, there’s something wrong.”

“CRS is an arm of the department that we call the Peacemakers,” Thomas Battles, regional director of the DOJ’s Community Relations Service, said at a meeting at the Shiloh Church on April 19, 2012. “We work with communities where there is real or perceived racial tensions.”

The findings, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said, “detail the extraordinary intervention by the Justice Department in the pressure campaign leading to the prosecution of George Zimmerman. My guess is that most Americans would rightly object to taxpayers paying government employees to help organize racially-charged demonstrations.”

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano Resigning … Leaving to be Next President of the University of California System

Janet Napolitano, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security is resigning.  According to accounts, she is going to resign Friday and become the next president of the University of California system. Well that was rather sudden. Napolitano will become the first woman in its 145-year history to hold the post. Janet Napolitano has served as the leader of President Barack Obama’s homeland security division since his first inauguration in 2009.

Janet Napolitano

Janet Napolitano, the U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, is being named as the next president of the University of California system, in an unusual choice that brings a national-level politician to a position usually held by an academic, The Times has learned. Her appointment also means the 10-campus system will be headed by a woman for the first time in its 145-year history.

Napolitano’s nomination by a committee of UC regents came after a secretive process that insiders said focused on her early as a high-profile, although untraditional, candidate who has led large public agencies and shown a strong interest in improving education.

The Weekly Standard has the statement from Janet Napolitano:

“For more than four years I have had the privilege of serving President Obama and his Administration as the Secretary of Homeland Security. The opportunity to work with the dedicated men and women of the Department of Homeland Security, who serve on the frontlines of our nation’s efforts to protect our communities and families from harm, has been the highlight of my professional career. We have worked together to minimize threats of all kinds to the American public. The Department has improved the safety of travelers; implemented smart steps that make our immigration system more fair and focused while deploying record resources to protect our nation’s borders; worked with states to build resiliency and make our nation’s emergency and disaster response capabilities more robust; and partnered with the private sector to improve our cybersecurity. After four plus years of focusing on these challenges, I will be nominated as the next President of the University of California to play a role in educating our nation’s next generation of leaders. I thank President Obama for the chance to serve our nation during this important chapter in our history, and I know the Department of Homeland Security will continue to perform its important duties with the honor and focus that the American public expects.”

Statement from Obama:

I want to thank Secretary Napolitano for her outstanding work on behalf of the American people over the last four years.  At the Department of Homeland Security, Janet’s portfolio has included some of the toughest challenges facing our country.  She’s worked around the clock to respond to natural disasters, from the Joplin tornado to Hurricane Sandy, helping Americans recover and rebuild. Since day one, Janet has led my administration’s effort to secure our borders, deploying a historic number of resources, while also taking steps to make our immigration system fairer and more consistent with our values.  And the American people are safer and more secure thanks to Janet’s leadership in protecting our homeland against terrorist attacks. I’ve come to rely on Janet’s judgment and advice, but I’ve also come to value her friendship.  And as she begins a new chapter in a remarkable career of public service, I wish her the best of luck.
