More Shameful Media Bias … CNN Moderator Candy Crowley Leaps to Defend Obama During Presidential Debate on Benghazi Act of Terror Question

Prior to the debate, many were concerned that CNN’s Candy Crowly was going to defy the debate contract. After tonight’s performance, moderator Crowly not only defied the contract but also decided to double-team GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney when she decided to interject herself into the debate and defend Obama on a key Benghazi question. Simple shameful.

In an interview with CNN this afternoon, Candy Crowley reiterated that, like past town-hall debate moderators, she intends to do more than just hold the microphone at tonight’s debate in Hempstead, N.Y. — an intention that has caused concern for both campaigns.

At debates end, it was only the Romney camp that needed to be concerned as the CNN Moderator showed her true colors and that she was in the tank for Obama when Crowley interjected herself in the debate as a real time fact checker and got it 100% wrong. But of course she was defending Obama so truth be damned. Watch the video below where the moderator steps in to defend Obama when the President had never called the Benghazi attack a terrorist attack in the Rose Garden.

News Busters has the transcript of the exchange. It was the only time during the debate that the moderator moved to correct one of the candidates. Because we all know that Obama told the truth 100% of the time.

“I think it’s interesting the president just said something, which is that on the day after the attack he went into the Rose Garden and said that this was an act of terror,” Romney said.

“That’s what I said,” Obama replied.

“You said in the Rose Garden the day after the attack, it was an act of terror,” said Romney. “It was not a spontaneous demonstration, is that what you’re saying?”

“Please proceed governor,” said Obama.

“I want to make sure we get that for the record because it took the president 14 days before he called the attack in Benghazi an act of terror,” said Romney.

“Get the transcript,” Obama replied.

For the first time during the debate, Crowley moved to correct one of the candidates.

“He did, in fact, sir. So let me — let me call it an act of terror…”

“Can you say that a little louder, Candy?” Obama asked.

“He — he did call it an act of terror. It did as well take — it did as well take two weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape to come out. You are correct about that,” Crowley clarified.

UPDATE I: Candy Crowley disgraced herself tonight by showing her true liberal colors and defended Obama when he lied and she was 100% incorrect. Way to shill for Obama you partisan hack.

UPDATE II: Obama: “no acts of terrorism”, 1:50 mark. Check out the video of what Obama actually said in the Rose Garden. The President never said it was an act of terrorism … HE LIED TONIGHT.

More from NRO …

His only mention of “terror”:

No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.  Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America.

Candy Crowely was in Obama’s corner all night long helping to keep Romney from destroying him. It was a repeat of the Ryan and Biden debate in regards to moderation.

Crowely has been recognized for a long time to be a left leaning liberal. The Romney campaign must like the idea of two on one. So far, IMO both Romney and Ryan have shown themselves to be up to the task of taking on the debator and the moderator.
Ms. Crowely was in the tank for Obama as I expected. She should be thoroughly ashamed of her performance, but being a lefty she will think that she saved the day for Obama.

Candy Crowley was an Obama plant!!

How was it that Crowley was able to deceptively back up Obama with words taken out of context from that transcript in less than a minute?

There was no fast checking on the discussion points that Mitt Romney had issues with.

If Crowley had gotten her way … Obama would have gotten the last word on every talking point … the last word that implied that Mitt Romney was a liar.

In both Presidential debates … Romney has been pitted against Obama and the liberal moderator.

Nevertheless … Romney has emerged the victor!!

Candy Crowley is not a journalist. She is a liberal hack that used the debate for her own purposes. Namely getting Obama re-elected. Obviously some of these so called journalists forget that we can read and also understand videos without them being explained to us. What she did was reprehensible and she should be ashamed.

CNN’s Crowley first plays umpire, then joins Team Obama
      Published October 17, 2012

Conservatives were outraged, arguing that Crowley’s interruption spoiled a key Romney point. They weren’t the only ones. Even Politico’s Mike Allen called the Crowley point “arguable” and pointed to the transcript of Obama’s statement saying it “generally” referred to “acts of terror.” CNN’s John King called the Obama statement a “generic” comment about terror, not specifically calling the Libya attack a terrorist act.

Obama cannot distance himself from the words of Rice in her talk show appearances … words that blamed the video for the uprise in the Middle East by using his words taken out of context from his Rose Garden speech.

At the end of September in his speech at the United Nations … Obama in his own words blamed the anti-Muslim video clip for the uprise … not terrorism.

Think about it. Why didn’t Candy Crowley come up with the following Obama quote in defence of Romney?

The odds were stacked again Mitt Romney in last night’s debate but … he emerged the victor nevertheless.

That is what we saw play out the last two weeks, as a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world. I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity. It is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well – for as the city outside these walls makes clear, we are a country that has welcomed people of every race and religion. We are home to Muslims who worship across our country. We not only respect the freedom of religion – we have laws that protect individuals from being harmed because of how they look or what they believe. We understand why people take offense to this video because millions of our citizens are among them.

FACT CHECK: Did Obama really call consulate attack in Libya an ‘act of terror’?
      Published October 17, 2012

… But four days later, Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., went on five networks’ Sunday shows and cast the attack as hardly a coordinated strike by terrorists….

“The information, the best information and the best assessment we have today is that in fact this was not a preplanned, premeditated attack. That what happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video. …”

Moderator Crowley says Romney ‘right in the main’ on Libya, despite debate intervention
      Published October 17, 2012

Tuesday night’s presidential debate, after appearing to side with President Obama on the question of whether he called the Libya strike a terror attack from the start, conceded afterward that Mitt Romney was “right” on the broader point — that the administration for days insisted it was a spontaneous act.

“He was right in the main. I just think he picked the wrong word,” Candy Crowley said of Romney on CNN shortly after the debate ended.
