Mitt Romney Says … Obama Supporters Fail to Take Responsibility For Their Own Lives & Will Vote for Obama No Matter What

Mitt Romney, the GOP candidate for Presidential told donors earlier this year that Obama supporters fail to take responsibility for their own lives and that no matter what they will vote for Barack Obama as they believe that the government is responsible to take take of them and they are entitled to pretty much everything including healthcare. This is being lauded as a secret tape from Mother Jones, a gotcha moment. Sorry Ma Jones, it sounds pretty much on par to what Romney and Obama have been saying already.

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.

Let us not forget that during the 2008 campaign Obama promised JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. Then during every State of the Union Address, Obama promised who would laser focus on JOBS. He has done nothing of the sort and instead sadly created a government dependent class. One might say that was Obama’s intentions all along.

Who does not think that individuals need to boot strap themselves and take responsibility for their lives? I actually give KUDOS to Romney for saying it like it is. Although I tend to disagree some what with the percentage, I would say that about 40% probably would vote for Obama because they believe America is an entitlement society. There are some who need a safety net, the truly disabled included. Sorry, but there are many in America who leach off of the system and others. C’mon folks, we all know individuals that do so. The 47% dependency class is a number and points to those who do pay no taxes, yet benefit the most from other hard working, tax paying individuals. As stated at Hot Air, how else can we explain how a GOP convention hammered home the terrible US economy, high unemployment, record food stamp recipients and most importantly, reminding us of many small business owners that “you did build it”.

So how can anyone explain how Obama has a positive approval rating and is tied/ahead in the polls and garners a constant 45-47%? Because there are those who will vote for Obama even if we had a Depression. However, enough of the hypocrisy of so-called writing voters off. Doug Ross reminds us that Obama takes part in the same game. How do those folks who cling to their Bibles and guns feel? Written off? Obama wrote off the white working class a long time ago.

Enough of a four minute so-called secret gotcha tape of Mitt Romney that the liberal, corrupt media complex will exploit to further Obama’s campaign reelection. Any honest American will look back over the past four years and realize that Barack Obama’s policy and agenda has been terrible for America and the so-called 47%.  Personally, I believe in uplifting the “47%” and creating an environment that is conclusive to getting them back to work, not creating a dependent cradle to grave government dependency.

The new media tactic (i.e., Sal Alinsky tactic…Obama’s hero) is to call anything Romney says a ‘gaffe’. The latest video of him speaking about the entitled and how they’ll always vote for Obama is hardly a gaffe; it is merely pure truth. but let’s face it, the truth IS a gaffe in the minds of liberals. It’s what they fear more than anything.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the Public Treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the Public Treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy always followed by dictatorship.

Rep. Allen West: Romney ‘a little clumsy’ with ’47 percent’ comment
      09/18/12 07:48 AM ET

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) said Tuesday that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney had been “a little clumsy” in his comments at a closed-door fundraiser, which were revealed Monday, but added that he believed the general sentiment behind Romney’s comments was correct. …

At a press conference Monday night, Romney admitted his comments were “not elegantly stated.”

But West said Romney was right to highlight an increasing “largesse from the public treasury.”

Mr. Romney is on point though I think he included a lot of retired people in his 47 percent. The real percentage of those who vote for government programs is probably no more than 30 percent of the elgible voters.

The truth is that the Democrats beginning with FDR saw an opportunity to develope a voter dependency class via government handouts. This was enhanced greatly by the Democrats during the 1960′s with the great society programs.

The time has come for those who want the job of running the government to tell it like it is and Romney did just that.

Romney sticks by ‘victims’ comments, but calls them ‘off the cuff’
      Published September 18, 2012

Romney, while saying his phrasing was not ideal, stood by the premise of his remarks, which reportedly came from a fundraiser in Florida.

“It’s not elegantly stated, let me put it that way. I was speaking off the cuff in response to a question,” Romney said, adding he wants to help “all Americans.”

But he continued: “It’s a message which I am going to carry and continue to carry, which is that the president’s approach is attractive to people who are not paying taxes because frankly my discussion about lowering taxes isn’t as attractive to them. Therefore I’m not likely to draw them into my campaign as effectively as those in the middle.”

There are plenty of demographics that break the 47% out in order to get a good picture of who they are. Many are 65, where its hard to impose an income tax on students or the officially retired, so including them in the 47% is silly; they are not part of what you are calling the “entitlement class” (hopefully) as the >65 paid their taxes when it was expected of them (and at higher rates than we do today) and the <25 simply don't make the $40-$60K/year it apparently taxes to reach the threshold; hopefully they will in a few years.

That threshold ($60K in some cases) is too high. Someone who makes $30K should have some skin in the game, but it would be hard to impose it right now on them as their income is all dedicated to gas & food & mortgages that they can't really afford. The hard lesson is that they were taken off the tax roles when times were better, and now when times are worse it is hard to add them back.

Lesson learned…don't pass tax cuts that result in $0 taxes, its hard to get someone who pays nothing to kick in.

Romney fallout: Magazine to release full video
      Sep 18, 2012

Mitt Romney’s secretly taped comments that nearly half of President Obama’s voters are “dependent on the government” and “pay no income tax” sparked swift and passionate reactions.

A key development this morning came from Mother Jones magazine, which posted the Romney video yesterday. Clara Jeffrey, the magazine’s co-editor, told Politico that it plans to release the full video containing the GOP presidential nominee’s remarks to donors.

The magazine posted a second clip today in which Romney is heard saying Palestinians have “no interest whatsoever in establishing peace.”

Romney defends donor comment, says more jobs will mean more paying taxes
      Published September 18, 2012

Mitt Romney, in an interview with Fox News, defended his comments from a fundraiser earlier this year in which he said President Obama’s base supporters don’t pay federal income tax, “believe they are victims” and will vote for Obama “no matter what.” …

Romney responded to claims that he had effectively written off half the population with his fundraiser remarks. Romney said “we go after every group we can to get votes” and suggested his policies would help even those who might not support him.

But he continued to say that those who are not paying income tax probably won’t be attracted to his message of lowering the tax rates.

“And those that are dependent upon government and those that think government’s job is to redistribute, I’m not going to get them,” he said.

      RESPONSE: THE PALESTINIAN-ISRAELI VIDEO SEGMENT

Romney defends donor comment, says more jobs will mean more paying taxes
      Published September 18, 2012

n another clip Mother Jones released Tuesday, Romney also told the donors that Palestinians “have no interest” in peace with Israel. He says Palestinians are “committed to the destruction and elimination of Israel” and that the prospects for a two-state solution to Mideast peace were dim.

The Romney campaign on Tuesday defended those comments as well.

“Gov. Romney laid out a detailed description of the many difficult issues that must be solved in order to reach a two-state solution. And as he’s often said, there is this one obvious truth: peace will not be possible if the extreme elements of the Palestinian side refuse to come to the table for talks or to recognize Israel’s right to exist,” spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said

    22. A Texas Grandfather on September 18th, 2012 4:50 pm

Our money has been diluted by inflation to where two pennies of 1937 value equals a dollar today. Most people did not make the amount of money to file income tax prior to 1938. In that year the tax threshold was lowered to near 2500 dollars from 5,000 dollars.
Based on these values, if income taxs were to be assesed on real purchasing power, the amounts would be $250,000 pror to 1938 abd $125,000 afterwards.

People were sold the idea by FDR and the Democrats that Social Security would be set up so that each person would have their own personal account. They would pay one percent of the first $3,600 and the employer would match it. That meant $72 per year going into your account. This was all set up under laws passed in congress and signed by FDR. Everyone had to contribute, there was no waivers. Self employed people payed two percent to match the amount for non-self employed.

The first lie was the fact that each would have their own account. Instead it was all pooled together. If these accounts had been handled correctly by the theives in government, each person would have been assigned a special account at a local named bank that could not be touched until retirement.
Each time that the Democrats, who are really socialists, have been in power beginning with Woodrow Wilson they have conspired under law to steal money from the people so they could control its use.

Romney’s comments also reinforce one of the most destructive assumptions about American conservatives:

This “inelegant” phrase plays into one of the worst misconceptions about conservatives, that promoting self-reliance and celebrating success means you must not care about anyone else…[but] caring about someone isn’t the same as caring FOR someone.

Of course I care about my unemployed neighbor. In fact, I care more than liberals do because I’m trying to fire the guy whose economic policies keep costing us jobs.

But caring about him doesn’t mean I’m willing to pay all his bills and send him free money for the rest of his life.

And I care that so many Americans can’t afford health insurance. That’s why I’m trying to get rid of schemes like Romney-BamaCare that have driven costs up. But you should also have some responsibility for your own health care, too.

I can’t speak for Mitt (and, obviously, neither can Mitt), but I’m a conservative because I know that self-reliance, independence, and the freedom to create the life we choose is the best way to live — far better than the half-life, pseudo-adulthood of the dependent class.

That’s the message Mitt Romney should be highlighting, and it may not be too late. Today’s polls still have the two candidates essentially tied.

But the Mitt tradition of making it harder for people to vote for him continues…

So, you claim that “Mitt Romney speaks the truth about people thinking they are victims and entitled to something for doing nothing!” Well, AFAIK, making this type of claim regarding truth carries the burden of showing how or why it is true. Otherwise, it is not really truth, but just an opinion.

Lets just agree to call it an opinion while we wait for some proof. OK with you?
