Mitt Romney Closing in on Barack Obama in Michigan … The Midwest is Starting to Crumble for Obama
Romney closing in on Obama in Michigan …
Don’t look now but GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney is closing ground on Barack Obama in Michigan. In the most recent Lansing-based EPIC-MRA poll, Romney has cut Obama’s July lead in half where Obama now leads 49% to 46%. I have to question the sampling if Romney won Independents by a wide margin, 51%-38% with 11% undecided and he still trails by 3%. RCP shows the polls are tightening as well. What is simply astonishing is that Obama defeated McCain in the 2008 Presidential election in Michigan 57% to 41%. Flash-forward four years and the state is a toss-up.
A new Michigan poll shows Mitt Romney apparently closing the gap on President Barack Obama in the state.
Lansing-based EPIC-MRA did an automated survey of 1,200 likely voters on Tuesday and found Obama leading Romney 49%-46% when respondents were asked who they’d vote for if they had to make a decision right then. Five percent were undecided.
The poll showed the key bloc of independent voters swinging toward Romney by a wide margin, 51%-38% with 11% undecided. Romney held a 48%-47% lead among men while women voters preferred Obama by a 51%-44% margin.
The poll was taken prior to the completion of Ann Romney’s speech and prior to Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney’s speech as well. Will Romney get even more of a convention bounce? If Barack Obama cannot win a union state like Michigan easily, Obama is going to have a long election night.

Rand Paul Nails Obama with “You Did Not Build It” at the RNC … Obama is Unqualified to Lead (VIDEO)
Senator Rand Paul (KY-R) took the opportunity during his speech at the RNC to rip President Barack Obama with his now ill-advised comment that has become a rally cry during terrible economic times, “you didn’t build that”. Paul went on to say, “anyone who’s so fundamentally misunderstand American greatness, is uniquely unqualified to lead this great nation”.
Sadly, all the left-wing, Obama propaganda media could do is try and smear Paul’s speech and try and cause dissension between the Tea Party, Libertarians and the GOP. How shameless.

Senator McConnell (KY-R) “Obama hasn’t been working to earn reelection. He’s been working to earn a spot on the PGA tour.”
FORE …
Come the election eve 2012, Obama supporters will not be chanting four more years, they will be saying “fore” more years. Mitch McConnell said what most Americans have thought during the Obama presidency. McConnell stated, “For four years, Barack Obama has been running from the nation’s problems. He hasn’t been working to earn reelection. He’s been working to earn a spot on the PGA tour”. After over 100+ rounds of golf and no clue how to fix the economy or help create an environment that is convulsive to job growth … but he can certainly play golf.
The Senate minority leader delivered a scathing speech Wednesday hitting the president for failing to solve the country’s problems.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) delivered a scathing speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night, saying that President Obama has spent more time on his golf game than solving the country’s problems.
“For four years, Barack Obama has been running from the nation’s problems. He hasn’t been working to earn reelection. He’s been working to earn a spot on the PGA tour,” McConnell said.
America cannot take another “FORE” years of a President who has acted so small in the face of such huge issues. America needs a leader, not a community organizer.

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez RNC … “Obama Built that 5 Trillion Dollar National Debt”, and Counting
Fantástico … A future superstar in the Republican Party, Say hello to Susana Martinez.
Susana Martinez, the Gov. of New Mexico did a phenomenal job last night at the Republican National Convention. Martinez, the first Hispanic, female governor elected to office in the United States wowed the crowd with her personal stories of being a security guard and owning a .357 magnum to her charming story of learning that she was a Republican. Gov. Susana Martinez went on to rip Obama during her speech for is false promises and epic failure that has been his presidency.
“Success is the American Dream. And that success is not something to be ashamed of, or to demonize.”
Full transcript can be read HERE.
Before I ran for District Attorney, two Republicans invited my husband and me to lunch. And I knew a party-switch was exactly what they wanted.
So, I told Chuck, we’ll be polite, enjoy a free lunch and then say goodbye.
But we talked about issues-they never used the words Republican, or Democrat, conservative or liberal.
We talked about many issues, like welfare – is it a way of life, or a hand-up?
Talked about the size of government — how much should it tax families and small businesses?
And when we left that lunch, we got in the car and I looked over at Chuck and said, “I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans.”
The American Spectator discusses parts of Martinez’ speech.
If he can take credit for government building small businesses, then he can accept responsibility for breaking his promise and adding 5 trillion dollars to the national debt.
Because he did build that.
