Fast & Furiousgate: Barack “Milhous” Obama Invokes ‘Executive Privilege’ Over Documents Requested From Attorney general Holder With Regards to ‘Fast and Furious’

Obama is finished … WHAT DOES THE WHITE HOUSE HAVE TO HIDE?

Barack “Milhous” Obama invokes ‘Executive Privilege’ over the documents requested by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, with regards to ‘Fast and Furious’. At the 11th hour, Barack Obama, the man who claimed he was going to have the most transparent Presidency ever, is now hiding behind executive privilege.  The question now becomes not what Eric Holder knew and when did he know it, but what did Barack Obama know and when did he know it?

President Obama on Wednesday asserted executive privilege over documents sought by a House panel ahead of its vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.

It’s the first time Obama has used executive privilege since taking office. A White House aide said the president had gone longer without asserting the privilege in a congressional dispute than any other president in the last three decades.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said his panel was “evaluating” a letter from Deputy Attorney General James Cole asserting the privilege that arrived minutes before Issa’s committee was to begin contempt proceedings

Talk about your political calculations by Barack Obama. The Obamamessiah cannot talk about the economy, he can’t talk about the $15.6 trillion national debt, he can’t talk about the failed $787 billion stimulus and the no jobs created from the failed plan, he can’t talk about the record Americans on food stamps, nor the millions of Americans who have just left the work force. Instead Obama is playing a game of Fast and Furious scandal chicken in preventing the GOP from getting docs in a brazen game to divert America’s attention from the disastrous economy and hoping that Republicans overplay their hand. This is how bad the president has it for reelection. A scandal is better than talking about the economy.

Think about it, how damning must these documents be if Barack Obama played politics and escalated the Fast & Furious scandal to this level. The Obama Administration now appears that it is more important to protect themselves that providing the truth to the gun running program and how it played with regards to the death of border patrol agent Brian Terry. As reported at ABC News, Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) states that the last second move by Barack Obama raises “monumental questions.”

Grassley, who has been leading a Senate investigation into Fast and Furious, said Obama’s move raises “monumental questions.”

“How can the president assert executive privilege if there was no White House involvement?” Grassley asked in a prepared statement. “How can the president exert executive privilege over documents he’s supposedly never seen? Is something very big being hidden to go to this extreme?”

From the White House via the Politico comes there is no cover-up, GOP playing politics with Fast & Furious. Really? Spare us the politics. This from Barack Obama, who has played fast and loose with the politics and Presidency for 3+ years. This also from the President who claimed he was going to be a different kind of president that would have the most transparent presidency ever. Playing politics, eh? Wasn’t it Holder & Obama who just yesterday met with Issa to what was supposed to be the turning over of docs? The statement by White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer:

With millions of Americans still struggling to pay the bills, Republicans announced at the beginning of this year that one of their top priorities was to investigate the Administration and damage the President politically. We are ten days away from the expiration of federal transportation funding which guarantees jobs for almost a million construction workers because Congress hasn’t passed a transportation bill.  We are eleven days away from nearly seven and a half million students seeing their loan rates double because Congress hasn’t acted to stop it.  But instead of creating jobs or strengthening the middle-class, Congressional Republicans are spending their time on a politically-motivated, taxpayer-funded election-year fishing expedition.

The problem of gunwalking was a field-driven tactic that dated back to the previous Administration, and it was this Administration’s Attorney General who ended it. In fact, the Justice Department has spent the past fourteen months accommodating Congressional investigators, producing 7,600 pages of documents, and testifying at eleven Congressional hearings. Yet, Republicans insist on moving forward with an effort that Republicans and objective legal experts have noted is purely political.

Given the economic challenges facing the country, we believe that House Republicans should work with the rest of Congress and the President to create more jobs, not more political theater.”

The White House can try and use all the reverse psychology that they want and try and deflect blame and make the GOP look like the bad guys. Sorry, but the cold hard reality is an American Border Agent is dead and the White House and Obama are hiding the truth from the American People and the family of slain Brian Terry. Eric Holder lied when he was first asked what and when he knew about ‘Fast and Furious’ and now this action by Obama will make many ponder what and when he knew as well.

Allen West on Obama: ‘The Resurrection of an Imperial Presidency’
      1:21 PM, Jun 18, 2012

“What country did we wake up in on Friday?,” West asked. “It just causes people to ask, where are we? You know, the last time we had this was with King George III, and we didn’t like it too much. And I think that you’re seeing the resurrection of an imperial presidency, and the arrogance thereof. To think that you can come out and basically tell the American people that this is what we’re going to do … and don’t question me.”

The big hold up for West seems to be Obama’s decision to bypass Congress and the law of the land. “America is not about ruling by verbal edict or just whims; the president has been elected to enforce the laws of this country. And he doesn’t get to pick which laws he likes or dislikes. And I find it very perplexing and ironic that when he had control of the House and Senate, this did not seem like a very important issue.”

      ALLEN WEST

Obama asserts executive privilege over Fast and Furious documents
      Published: 10:00 AM 06/20/2012

Florida Republican Rep. Allen West posted on his Facebook wall that he thinks “[t]here seems to be no line President Obama will not cross in his plan to save himself and his cronies.”

“First the ‘Executive order’ to allow illegal immigrants to compete with American jobs, now an ‘Executive privilege’ to save Eric Holder from information that Americans deserve to see,” West said.

“An American Border Patrol Agent and hundreds of Mexican citizens have lost their lives because of Operation Fast and Furious,” West added. “The President’s arrogance in not understanding the rule of law and the fundamental premise of separation of powers is reflective of his narcissistic manner and it is harmful to this nation. Americans are disgusted by this and will say so the most conducive way they know how, come November.”

This whole operation was instigated to provide proof of the statements in Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s speeches where they stated “Ninety percent of the guns going into mexico come from the United States”. It was designed to be an attack on the citizens second ammendment rights.

Neither of the speach makers ever thought that two American citizens would be killed by the guns that were delibertly trafficed to Mexico. These acts are treason aganist the people and those responsible should be found and prosecuted.

      REPUBLICAN SENATOR CHUCK GRASSLEY

Obama asserts executive privilege over Fast and Furious documents
      Published: 10:00 AM 06/20/2012

Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said this assertion raises more questions than answers.

“The assertion of executive privilege raises monumental questions,” Grassley said. “How can the President assert executive privilege if there was no White House involvement? How can the President exert executive privilege over documents he’s supposedly never seen? Is something very big being hidden to go to this extreme? The contempt citation is an important procedural mechanism in our system of checks and balances. The questions from Congress go to determining what happened in a disastrous government program for accountability and so that it’s never repeated again.”

This is the first time President Obama has asserted executive privilege. In 2007, then-Sen. Obama criticized President Bush for the practice.

Obama said on CNN at the time, “There’s been a tendency, on the part of this administration, to try to hide behind executive privilege every time there’s something a little shaky that’s taking place.”
