Mitt Romney Has Big Clean Sweep in Tonight’s GOP Primaries … Wins CT, DE, NY, PA & RI … Former Mass. Governor Says “A Better America Begins Tonight”

Mitt Romney wins big, no huge, tonight in the GOP Primaries in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode island. In the end, it was not even close. Romney thanks those in the five primary states he won this evening. The GOP primary is officially over. The Mittster gave a victory speech tonight that was full of optimism, a welcome change from the negative and divisive class warfare from Barack Obama.

“I see an America with a growing middle class, with rising standards of living,” Romney will say. “I see children even more successful than their parents — some successful even beyond their wildest dreams — and others congratulating them for their achievement, not attacking them for it.”

RHODE ISLAND: With 99% of the vote counted, Romney 63%, Paul  24%, Gingrich 6%.

PENNSYLVANIA: With 66% of the votes counted, Romney 56%, Paul 13%, Gingrich 11%. Some thought that a narrow Romney victory in PA would be embarrassing to Mitt seeing that Santorum had previously dropped out of the race. The pundits got that one wrong too.

NEW YORK: With 7% of the vote counted NY has been called for Romney … Romney 56%, Paul 16%, Gingrich 16%.

CONNECTICUT: With 65% of the votes counted, Romney 67%, Paul 14%, Gingrich 10%.

DELAWARE: With 98% of the vote counted, Romney wins huge in DE, a states that some so-called pundits actually thought Gingrich might win. Romney 57%, Gingrich 27%, Paul 10%.

UPDATE I: Mitt Romney nailed his speech tonight. Romney connected with so many Americans, whether they be Republicans, Democrats or Independents when he said … “Americans are tired of being tired.” BINGO!!!

Romney used the line of the late, great Ronald Reagan, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” – Romney sought to appeal to average Americans. Mitt Romney just wowed them with his speech in Manchester, NH after his impressive 5 state primary victory. For the first time since the outset of the GOP Primaries, Romney truly sounded Presidential, went after Obama’s failed agenda and offered a positive vision for the future.

UPDATE II: Mitt Romney’s Speech: “A Better America Begins Tonight”

Americans have always been eternal optimists. But over the last three and a half years, we have seen hopes and dreams diminished by false promises and weak leadership. Everywhere I go, Americans are tired of being tired, and many of those who are fortunate enough to have a job are working harder for less.

For every single mom who feels heartbroken when she has to explain to her kids that she needs to take a second job … for grandparents who can’t afford the gas to visit their grandchildren … for the mom and dad who never thought they’d be on food stamps … for the small business owner desperately cutting back just to keep the doors open one more month – to all of the thousands of good and decent Americans I’ve met who want nothing more than a better chance, a fighting chance, to all of you, I have a simple message: Hold on a little longer. A better America begins tonight.

Tonight is the start of a new campaign to unite every American who knows in their heart that we can do better! The last few years have been the best that Barack Obama can do, but it’s not the best America can do!

Hm, sounds even worse than the thing Michelle Obama was attacked so much for. She was talking about being proud of America, Romney is basically saying the only way he can be proud of being American again is by being president…

Nice try, while Romney being Presidential and painting a picture of optimism for the future, Obama is playing the Fool on late night talk show. Never has there been a better contrast of just how ill prepared that Obama is and that he belongs no where near the White House. Obama thinks everything is a joke, namely himself.

What does that have to do with anything? I was pointing out what Romney said and how much worse it was than anything the first lady ever said.

SM: The point is … it was not worse than Marie Antoinette Obama had said. It is obvious that she had never been proud of America. After having spent years in Rev, Wright’s Church, how could anyone like America?

The fact is that you on the LEFT are really grasping at straws. Obama’s got nuthin. He can’t run on his record so he and minions like you try to distract from that failed record. Not going to work.

Going on these talk shows is an indication that obama has an ego that just don’t quit. Totally jacked the dignity of the office.

So she’s never been proud of America, but Romney admitted that he’s not proud of America right now, and won’t be unless he becomes president. And if I’m distracting from the truth what were you and all the other right-wing goons doing when they attacked Michelle?

SM: Spare us the dribble … who is attacking Michelle, we have enough on Obama to go after, but then again maybe Marie Antoinette Michelle Obama can go on another $500 million vacation on the tax payers dime. I guess she can be proud of that.

[...] Yup, the silly season is about to come to an end and the American people who are “tired of being tired,” are about to take a good look at who and what Obama is all about and say, we cannot take another 4 [...]
