Alamo Heights Defeat San Antonio Edison in Basketball …Chanting USA, USA, USA is Now Considered Racist in the America … What Has Happen to Our Country?

SINCE WHEN IS IT RACIAL TO CHANT USA, USA, USA … WHAT HAPPENED TO AMERICA?

File this one under, WTF has happened to the country that I was born in? How is chanting USA, USA, USA racist? Seriously, we have to apologize for such a chant? This political correctness BS has got to stop. Watch the VIDEO below … if one did not know that it was an actual news story, one would think that it was an SNL skit. BTW, is San Antonio, TX still in the United States?

KSAT reported that a racial incident took place following a high school basketball game between Alamo Heights and San Antonio Edison. The racial incident, the Alamo Heights fans chanted USA, USA, USA. HUH??? Because one team has a predominate amount of Hispanics on their team, it is considered racism to chant USA. They are actually apologizing for the incident and demanding the students apologize. APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT!!! We still do have a US Constitution and a First Amendment of Free Speech, correct? I am so sick of people crying racism, where there is none. How in the hell is chanting USA racism? If anyone actually thinks that, it might be time for you to leave …

But it was just after the trophy presentation when the coach was not proud of the chant coming from Alamo Heights fans.

“USA, USA, USA,” they chanted.

San Antonio Independent School District officials took the chant as a racial insult to a school with all minority players from a school with mostly white ones.

On the KSAT 12 Defenders Facebook page, Santos Villarreal’s post reads “this has to stop.”

SAISD Spokeswoman Leslie Price heard about the incident after it had happened.

“This is very disrespectful to our students,” Price said.

She said the district is glad the coach put a stop to the chant immediately and hopes Alamo Heights addresses it quickly.

“It is surprising and it’s disappointing to hear that anyone would be out there making those kind of remarks,” Price said.

Edison students who attended Saturday’s game were shocked when they heard the chant. Some thought the fans of the victors should have been better behaved.

How dare all those racists chant USA, USA, USA during “Miracle on Ice” at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. This is how sadly low our country has become. I will say this, if any one thinks that chanting USA is bad or shameful … LEAVE, LEAVE RIGHT NOW!!! Are the kids from the predominantly Hispanic high school not attending school and living in the USA? Nuff said.

CROWD CHANTS USA, USA, USA DURING MIRACLE ON ICE

Just curious, what’s next not playing the United States National Anthem before sporting events, is that racist? How about America the Beautiful, is that racist? What about having an American flag in the gym, is that considered racist? How about God Bless America, is that racist too? Oh, but I bet chanting viva la Mexico would have been perfectly OK. Or wearing Hispanic heritage clothing on Cinco de Mayo while making other take off their USA clothes is ok as well.

Alamo Heights Superintendent Dr. Kevin Brown also apologized for the chant.

“We just hope that people know that that’s not who we are and we’re not going to let it happen again,” Brown said.

Alamo Heights has apologized to SAISD and the students identified will also have to apologize and have been banned from the state title games.

“We think that you have to earn a right to be there and that’s not a reflection of our school district,” Brown said.

I have one thing to say to those who were so offended  … USA, USA, USA!!!

This is all about the movement to take back the southwestern United States by the Mexicans.

This began more than forty years ago and now we see the superintendent of a school district making an apppology for a patriotic chant.

What should happen is the superintendent should loose his job, but because of political correctness, nothing will happen.

When the federal government allows open borders and no real check on illegal immegration this is the result.

Because the chant was clearly meant to imply that the other team wasn’t American enough.

But its ok chanting MEXICO, MEXICO at soccer games against the USA national team at California?

Want to know what is racist … making Americans not allowed to wear patriotic clothes on Cino de Mayo because it might offend Mexicans while inside the USA.

Last time I checked … Texas and San Antonio was located inside the USA and I am sorry, if some one actually is offended b a USA chant, you can get the hell out of it. I am sick and tired of you pathetic, whiny, bitch and moan political correct candya$$’s.

Uh, thats because the illegal immigrants make themselves nonamericans by making sure that everybody knows that they are mexican and proud and want to “take back the country”. Heard of La Raza much?

You didn’t see the Mexican vs Usa sucker game where these young new “americans” chanted and cheered for the mexican team on US soil?

      Craniel Rectalia lives strong.

Okay. We understand now why you blocked our reply. You don’t feel your views can sustain reasonable disagreement.

Unlike the LEFT, I actually do allow opposition points of view and don’t look to squelch free speech. However, keep in mind that just because one has an opinion or point of view that it is free speech. This is not a public forum, its a private one. As long as you are courteous and actually make a point, your comments will be posted.

Sorry, but when USA, USA, USA is a taunt, its time for those to leave. Like it or not, this is the United States. But some hoe its perfectly OK for those not born here to bring their heritage to the USA, but its not OK to actually embrace the USA. Makes all the sense in the world.

For those who actually live in the USA and are offended by a chant USA, USA, USA … why do you live here?

That’s the allegation, so it would depend on the particulars. The people involved seem to agree it was meant as a taunt against other children, and the offending team has apologized. It’s possible the reporting is in error, but it is quite possible for a chant to be innocuous in one context, but seen as a taunt in another.

SM: So I guess the same could be said about the fans shouting USA, USA at the 1980 Winter Olympics according to your logic.

No, that would be entirely appropriate. They even play the Star Spangled Banner during the awards ceremony.

SM: Not according to these folks because the fans in the crowd during Miracle on Ice would have been mean and racist against the Russian shouting USA, USA, USA. Obviously the Russian hockey team was not American enough. Using the same logic the fans should have apologized for their rude behavior.

SM: Not according to these folks it would not be appropriate. What are the odds that this school would not allow kids to wear clothes with American flags on them on Cinco de Mayo, but yet would allow Mexican flag clothes?

Like I have previously said, the day that a USA chant is deemed racist in an American school, we have a problem. I could care less whether the school had predominately Irish, Italian, Korean or Hispanics … there is something inherently wrong with all of this.

Are the kids on the other team not American? If so, why do they have an issue with the chant?

We freely retract that comment, and appreciate you looking into the situation. (We had emailed, but received no response.)

SM: Sorry, but when USA, USA, USA is a taunt, its time for those to leave. Like it or not, this is the United States.

You didn’t respond about context. Reportedly, the people most involved in the situation understood it as a taunt, that the opposing team weren’t American enough.

    13. Claude on March 11th, 2012 9:57 am

If the two schools were both located in the US, with US citizens as students, then the chant was certainly rude, arrogant, and prejudiced; however, it was not racist. “Hispanic” is not a race. By the way, any comparison to the “Miracle on Ice” game is just goofy.
      ______________
SM: BTW it was meant to be goofy to show the absurdity of this. However, I guarantee you there are many in the PC American in the 21st Century who would find the actions of those in the 1980′s as rude, mean and jingoistic.

America today is hardly the same America of the 80′s.
