Rising Gas Prices Will Have a Reverse Job Approval Effect for Barack Obama in 2012 (UPDATE: Don’t Forget ‘Taxmageddon’ in 2013)

Gas pains equal Presidential job approval pains …

It is obvious to all that gas prices are on the rise. Prices are already at a record high for this time of the year at $3.53 a gallon, up .25 since January 1, 2012. Some  experts say that gas prices could reach a record $4.25 a gallon by late April. This is hardly good news for President Barack Obama. As the folks at Powerline have stated, Barack Obama has gas pains. Normally Obama would not care that gas prices are high, that is what all “greenies” want; however, not during an election year. Especially when the rising gas prices would affect any minor improvement in the US economy.

First, Obama, like all right-thinking greenies, want gasoline prices to be higher, though, to be sure, they want high prices brought about by a government tax rather than the marketplace.  High gas prices are no fun if it means more profits for private oil companies.  Obama admitted this directly when asked about high gas prices in 2008, when he said he didn’t have a problem with them, only that he “would have preferred a gradual adjustment.”  Well, prices have crept up gradually since they collapsed back to about $2 a gallon in 2008.  So what’s his problem?

The NY Times has writes a rather interesting article on rising gas prices and the Obama administrations worries that it might just cost them reelection. The One will not be able to spin the rising cost of gas. Everyone can see it and feel it every time they fill up at the pump. Lack of domestic drilling, any type of coherent energy policy and chaos in the Middle East will be front and center for the 2012 Presidential election.

Rising gasoline prices, trumpeted in foot-tall numbers on street corners across the country, are causing concern among advisers to President Obama that a budding sense of economic optimism could be undermined just as he heads into the general election.

White House officials are preparing for Republicans to use consumer angst about the cost of oil and gas to condemn his energy programs and buttress their argument that his economic policies are not working.

ABC News asks, does Presidential policy affect gas prices? It certainly does when you have a delusional “green” President like Obama who has gone out of his way to prevent domestic oil drilling, stop Keystone XL Pipeline from going forward and wasting time and tax payer dollars on green failures like Solyndra.

UPDATE I: Think gas prices are bad, as the Lonely Conservative reminds us … do not forget ‘TAXMAGEDDON’ in 2013.Obama is a walking disaster for America.

What do we have to look forward to in 2013 if President Obama is reelected and Democrats retain control of the Senate? Taxmageddon, that’s what. The Washington Post has the rundown of tax increases set to hit in January.

The people should be so angry over this administrations positions on capitalism. Obama is doing the same as Hitler and Musolini prior to WWII by installing facism as their method of goverance. The bail-out methods and the ignoring of legal bond holders in the GM and Chrysler takeovers to name two purely treasonous acts against the rule of law.

In the 2008 campaign it was evident that we needed to get our energy production going as hard and fast as possible. If that had been done, we would not have the problems of today. Instead, what did we get? Just the opposite.

If many Americans may be paying close to $4.75-5.00/per gallon of gas as some experts are predicting come Labor Day 2012, this to me is another sure sign that Obama will be voted out of office.

He has a lot more that overall inflation that has dragged his tenure down. The increase of everything else (MINUS JOBS) has finally riled most of MIDDLE AMERICA into realizing—it is time for a REAL change this go-around.
