Occupy Tuberculosis … TB Outbreak at Occupy Atlanta

Once again I am at a loss to remember when there was a TB outbreak at a Tea party rally. Ah, NEVER!

So these are the 99% that President Barack Obama supports, lice infested, raping, drug overdosed and now tuberculosis infected protesters. Maybe this will give local politicians and law enforcement the stones to disband these enclaves of disease.

The Fulton County Health Department confirmed Wednesday that residents at the homeless shelter where protesters have been occupying have contracted the drug-resistant disease. WGCL reports that a health department spokeswoman said there is a possibility that both Occupy Atlanta protesters and the homeless people in the shelter may still be at risk since tuberculosis is contracted through air contact.

I have said this for quite some time. I do not begin to understand how these individuals or pond scum as stated at Jammie Wearing Fool, are allowed to just sit around and fester and this not be an issue of public health and safety. The Gateway Pundit reminds us that the reverend Jesse Jackson was just speaking at this Atlanta camp four days ago. I guess some one needs some testing. So is this the way you remember the Civil Rights movement Jesse?

This ‘OCCUPY’ slogan is nothing more than
a cry to squat camp! Protesting is one thing
that is done with a permit and squat camping
is strictly outlawed. So….who is permitting the
breaking of the law regarding camping? Let’s
tell the truth about this stuff!

Following your logic here you might as well suggest we breakup all shelters for the homeless. You also take care never find yourself in any small or large gatherings of people because you, least you catch some airborne illness, lice, or be raped.

Essentially, these are the steps you should suggest if this is your reasoning to breakup occupy encampment. I have a hard time believing that any other group or event would garner so much of your animosity without any of your sympathy for such diagnoses and assault. You certainly wouldn’t dream that one’s place of work, church, place to eat, place to shop, school, family, or any business that draw large regular masses required to be broken down for the sake of cleanliness and the health of citizens. These kinds of gathering just don’t pop up in to your head as groups deserving to be broken up. I think it is more probable you would be more sympathetic and open to the other, much better, way of containing contamination and decreasing violence.

You may not like Occupy [insert location] and you have every right to that opinion. However, letting one’s biases lead his/her reasoning and judgement is not good practice in critical thinking. Correlation does not imply causation.

I’d say you are more using these excuses as to solely breakup the occupation because you don’t like or agree with it. I’m sure it also fits nicely with any stereotypes you may have.

After all, if you saw these protesters more as human beings, you might seek to stop the assaults by suggesting the police welcome rather than threaten protesters. Perhaps suggest alternative shelter, increase protesters awareness of the real risks of contracting TB, getting screens, and training police and governing bodies how to maintain reasonable living condition(which would be for government to have gotten into bed with corporations so that people have no need to protest…as what predictably happens when an economy is bad, especially when those same governing bodies contributed to the poverty of their people).

Of course, if they convince you that these group of people are not worthy of basic human consideration, then you won’t ever think of these things nor care when you do.

One day you may find yourself being forced to breakup your own social activities, whatever it may be, because someone else considers your group as disgusting filth. Hopefully if/when that happens, they won’t succeed in dehumanizing you to society. After all, it is at this point that they will be justified in anything they do to you because no one will care about who or what your are.

Wait… Kindly show us a news article where protesters have been diagnosed with TB? Every single source I’ve read says that 2 individuals at the homeless shelter where protesters have been staying have been diagnosed, not that protesters have caught the disease. And there is also a conspicuous lack of data supporting a “TB Outbreak” at Occupy Atlanta… because, again, only 2 individuals have been diagnosed, and neither of those individuals has been labeled one of the protesters that I’ve heard. So please provide some evidence to support your wild claims.

What’s the matter, are you incapable of reading the article that was linked to? The article says what occurred, even the snippet does as well. This from the Occupy protesters that ate telling women not to report rapes as they will handle it themselves. Please.

The home base for Occupy Atlanta has tested positive for tuberculosis.

But at least it is not the STD’s and HIV that they are being tested for at other Occupy locations.
