As Herman Cain Considers Lawsuit Against The Politico, Cain Continues to Lead in the Polls

Following the outing of GOP Presidential contender Herman Cain’s past and a sexual harassment allegation by two woman, Cain is considering suing The Politico. Although the explanations from the Herman Cain camp could have been organized and presented better, one still has to wonder how much of this is an over the top political hatchet job? Cain needs to just present the facts, if he is legally allowed to and move on. However, the MSM will not be satisfied until they have destroyed  Cain and left him as political road kill.

A Herman Cain aide said Thursday that the Cain campaign is considering its legal options over the original Politico story, which revealed that the former head of the National Restaurant Association was accused of sexually harassing at least two women during his tenure in the 1990s.

“This is likely not over with Politico from a legal perspective,” a campaign official told the Post, stopping short of explaining what exactly he meant by taking legal action against the publication.

As reported at the Gateway Pundit, Cain may also want to add the NY Times to the lawsuit. However, an interesting thing is occurring when it comes to Herman Cain’s polling. Following the allegations coming out and the subsequent rebuttals from Cain … the Hermanator finds himself ahead still in the polls. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, Cain leads the GOP candidates in the national poll … Cain 26%, Romney 23% and Gingrich 14%. Herman Cain also leads in a Rasmussen South Carolina poll, Cain 33% Romney 23% and Gingrich 15%.  In an ABC-Washington Post poll, it is basically a dead heat between Cain and Romney.

The issue is not whether Herman Cain will finally tell all and explain the matter away, it is whether the bias MSM will let the story go as they smell blood in the water and can aid their candidate Barack Obama.

I think Romney is the candidate the DNC is most afraid of. It is interesting that Obama gets trounced by a “generic Republican candidate’ but he wins against any named one (except Romney where it is pretty even).

Digging up dirt on opposing candidates tends to be the name of the game in a presidential election.

Herman Cain should have realized that the sexual harrassment lawsuits that were settled twelve years ago would surface at some point in the campaign and there should have been a backup plan establshed in regards to a response.

It is my contention that Cain should have just step back … not responded and … stay focused on the issues of his campaign.

Cain’s need to “explain” his side when the other side has been silenced by a confidentiality agreeman and … Cain’s need to “retaliate” against the messengers who may or may not have exposed these lawsuits … reminds me of a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

I am one with Cain’s political ideology but … he tends to lack decernment when confronted.

      Where are Cain’s advisors?

Cain said, “only one complaint, and a two month paid settlement.” Now we find out two complaints! A years pay as settlement. I would remember that settlement.

Now a third woman talking about a corporate apartment swing pad.

Remember Gennifer Flowers? Paula Jones? Monica Lewinsky?
      ______________
SM: I think we need to see when the accusations were made and when the settlements were done as well. Some of them appear to have no Cain signatures on them. What if accusations and settlements were made after he left. It is actually possible that he was never aware of accusation or settlement.

I think it is rather disingenuous on anyone’s part to make such an accusation and then think you can have anonymity. You want to say hey look here and then provide no details. Hmm?

Consider it a fantasdtic Idea! .. what better example of
violation of Mr. Cain’s Civil Rights in the very un-equal treatment
by the press & media at large, relative to similar incidents within
the sexual allegations catagory, by so many others .. starting
with former President Clinton, also John Edwards, etc. etc. etc.

it has now been made painfully obvious
as demonstrated over these past days that Mr. Cain
has not, and is not getting equal treatment in the press to that of liberal blacks
      or liberal whites …

such litigation would be fair retribution and a beautiful twist in using
the Civil Rights laws .. this would also absolve Cain from having to speak
any further on the matter whilst in process of litigation, and would keep
hostile reporters from speaking of it as well .. It’s beautifull !! .. it exposes the hypocracy

The statement from the National Restaurant Association says it all. Herman Cain can now reference the statement when questioned and … then move on to doing what needs to be done to become President of the one of the greatest nations in the world.

      GOD BLESS AMERICA!

      +++++

Statement from National Restaurant Association President and CEO Dawn Sweeney
      November 04, 2011

“Based upon the information currently available, we can confirm that more than a decade ago, in July 1999, Mr. Bennett’s client filed a formal internal complaint, in accordance with the Association’s existing policies prohibiting discrimination and harassment. Mr. Herman Cain disputed the allegations in the complaint. The Association and Mr. Bennett’s client subsequently entered into an agreement to resolve the matter, without any admission of liability. Mr. Cain was not a party to that agreement. ….”

It has long been the strategy of the Communist Party to use smear tactics like that used against Herman Cain. This is also the SOP of the ACLU, an arm of the underground communist, such as with the propaganda twist to the monkey scopes trial as misrepresented in “Inherit the wind”
