35 year old Robyn Gardner from Frederick, MD is missing in Aruba. Gardner was on the island with boyfriend of two years, Gary Giordano. According to reports, Giordano told investigators that Robyn Gardner never made it back to shore after the two went snorkeling. It is also being reported that he has changed his stories. Robyn Gardner was last seen on August 2, 2011.

It has happened again. An American Tourist has disappeared in Aruba, and this time, she is from our area.
35-year-old Robyn Gardner of Frederick, Md., vanished from the same resort town in Aruba last week where Natalee Holloway was last seen in May 2005. Holloway disappeared during a high school senior trip. Her body has never been found.
Gardner was on the island with Gary Giordano of Frederick, who police have now detained for questioning.

Just when many American tourists thought it was safe to go back in the Aruba water following the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway, we have another missing female. Although it appears that the boyfriend’s story is a bit fishy, one never knows on One Happy Island.
Gardner was last seen on Tuesday, August 2 at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad, Aruba, according to the Natalee Holloway Resource Center.
Gardner is described as 5’5″ and 120 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes. She has tattoos on her left arm (back of her shoulder to her elbow), her rib cage, and her right bicep.
UPDATE I: Boyfriend under arrest in Aruba.
Authorities arrested Giodano at the airport as he was leaving the country. He’s being held on suspicion of murder.
A WTOP court records search online finds a man with a similar name has been in court in Montgomery County, Md. on domestic violence charges involving two women in the past. The most recent charge against him last year lists his home address as Gaithersburg.
JUST CURIOUS ARUBA … WHY DID YOU FIND GIODANO’S STORIES SUSPECT AND NOT JORAN VAN DER SLOOT. T I guess this America did not know enough people in high places to obstruct justice.

Although tragic and with all my prayers go to Robyn’s family and I truly hope they find Robyn. I just want to inform individuals who may have never been to Aruba. 1st. I travel to Aruba at least 4 times a year and I have NEVER experienced any problems and 2nd It is painted as if Aruba is this an island that abducts women all the time – Here in the US if you are to think they publicized every abduction you are mistaken – most are not even that important to the media. So I believe you should think before making any judgments
They will probably find the body. It will be just like the case from Alabama that the woman was killed by her new husband while diving.
This poor woman believed that the guy cared about her. Look for an insurance policy of some large amount.
The boy friend probably thought that Aruba would be a safe place for him to do his deed.
She probable got in trouble while swimming and he was too scared to help her out, and let her go under.
This happen to me once, but I pulled the guy to shore, with two leg cramps and cramps in both my sides. All I could see when I closed my eyes, was his little wife asking me “why did you let him drown”.
The vision sure sobered me out of my fear of dying, to the point that it was both of us survive or we both die.
It was the right thing to do. How could I have lived with myself if I had done otherwise?

What is going to be the story in this case is not that Joran Van der Sloot killed this American tourist, that is because he in in a prison in Peru.
The story here is the difference in hose the Aruban police and powers that be handle this case vs. Natalee Holloway.

I went on a Caribbean cruise a couple of years ago. Someone else was making the arrangements & the ONLY requirement I had was that our cruise not be one that stopped in Aruba. I will Never, EVER spend my vacation dollars in Aruba. I am sure most of the local people are kind & loving people. But the LAW ENFORCEMENT there is corrupt beyond measure. Until there is Justice for Natalee no one should go to Aruba.

Holloway Resource Center helps in Aruba missing woman case

In Frederick, Maryland Gardner’s boyfriend of two years, Richard Forester, said he just wants her back. The two fought but made up before she left for the trip, Forester claimed.
Forester contacted the Natalee Holloway Resource Center in Washington, D.C., which helped spread news of Gardner’s disappearance. The center was founded by Natalee’s mother Beth and provides assistance to the families of missing people.

Natalee Holloway’s Mom Gets Involved
The Natalee Holloway Resource Center, a foundation started after Holloway’s disappearance, has been offering help to Gardner’s boyfriend, Richard Forester.
“It strikes a chord close to home because that’s where my nightmare began, the day I got the call in 2005,” Beth Holloway, mother of Natalee, told ABC News. “We want to be a first responder to these families, we want to be there to help them. ” ….
Beth Holloway knows the dread Gardner’s family must be feeling and had advice for them.
“I think about just the devastating, unimaginable nightmare ahead,” Holloway said. “Being in a foreign destination is the most incomprehensible [situation], the language barriers, the foreign government. All of the documents are in Dutch, it’s Dutch law, and there’s not a homeland connection during the process.”
Holloway encouraged the family to ask Aruba to involve the FBI, she said.
“There’s a protocol you have to follow. The FBI doesn’t have jurisdiction in foreign places, but the family can send a plea to the government to ask them to invite the FBI to be involved. It’s one of the first steps I took early on, because it’s comforting to have the victim’s homeland law enforcement working on the case,” Holloway said.
Holloway said she hopes that Gardner’s family will keep up the search efforts for their daughter.
“I’d say continue the search, keep passing out fliers and passing information—tips, sources—onto the law enforcement officials there. I would encourage them to accept all media invitations. There are positive steps to finding the loved one,” Holloway said.
Though her own daughter was not found and no one was ever found guilty of killing her, Holloway said she hopes for different outcomes for Gardner’s case.
“I hope that she is found safe and sound and comes home, but if she isn’t, I hope the perpetrator is brought to justice,” she said.

Susan Wilson obviously does not read the Aruban newspapers. How many of those American “return” visitors have been attacked, robbed, and/or beaten while on vacation in Aruba?
Susan Wilson obviously also has the facts confused about Natalee Holloway. She was not underage, Joran van der Sloot WAS though. Natalee was 18 years old when she traveled to Aruba, legally old enough to participate in the activities she enjoyed doing with her classmates while she was there. However, Joran van der Sloot was 17 years old…too young to be in the casino’s and under the lawful drinking age as well. If the casino’s and Carlos n’ Charlie’s had enforced the lawful age for either being in their establishment at all or for being served alcohol….Natalee Holloway more than likely would have NEVER MET JORAN VAN DER SLOOT. Natalee was also not on Aruba for a full week. Unfortunately for her, she was there long enough to be targeted by Joran and his “pimp” friends, who the authorities were well aware were targeting tourist girls on their final night on the island. Some survived it, Natalee did not. It is well documented that Natalee was not the first victim of this group that were seemingly “entitled” to victimize innocent American tourists. Is that what you consider “nice”, Susan Wilson?

There was no sign of a struggle.

Conclusion she was sold.
Giordano doesn’t get charged for murder; is released and passes GO and collects $1.5 Million.
In so far as Natalee Holloway: There is no similarity in these cases other then they both disappeared on Aruba.
