An Obamanation: NJ Police PO’d Over Barack Obama White House Invite to Cop-Killer Promoting Rapper Common

Let’s see Obama justify this disgusting travesty … rapper Common, Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. How is a cop killing promoting rapper allowed in the White House?

The New Jersey State Police are up in arms and outraged that President Barack Obama would invite rapper Common to the White House. What’s the matter with inviting Common, a cop killing promoting rappers. C’mon man, yo, yo ain’t dis here what dis here prezident iz all about? Obama be a President that brings people together. Can America wake up from their delusion of what Obama was touted as being and just realize that this man could care less about bridging the divides in the US. Why should we not be surprised as the Gateway Pundit states, the chickens appear to have come home to roost … Common is a former Obama church member. I guess Barack never heard Common rap either.

View more videos at: http://nbcnewyork.com.

While even casual hip-hop fans wouldn’t characterize him as a controversial rapper, Common found himself under the microscope after First Lady Michelle Obama invited him to the White House for an arts event. In question: the lyrics to “A Song for Assata,” about convicted cop-killer and former Black Panther Assata Shakur.

The White House said Wednesday it stood by the decision to invite Common. Press Secretary Jay Carney said the conservative backlash distorts what Common stands for, and added that the president appreciates Common’s work with children in Chicago.

How is this individual allowed in the People’s House on the tax payer’s dime?

How could anyone justify the actions of any singer who raps about praising the acts of a cop killer? Seriously, Obama was just at Ground Zero and praising the acts of the first responders, fireman, police and paramedics and now this. WAKE UP POLICE … are you understanding now that it was just a photo-op?  The furor from the New Jersey police centers on “A Song for Assata” lyrics like “Your power and pride is beautiful. May God bless your soul.”

Shakur, formerly known as Joanne Chesimard, was convicted for the 1973 slaying of Trooper Werner Foerster on the New Jersey Turnpike. She escaped prison in 1979, and is living in asylum in Cuba.

“The young people who read this stuff, hear this stuff, are getting a very dangerous and deadly message,”  David Jones, president of the State Troopers Fraternal Association union, said on Tuesday.

White House Press Secretary lied his way through the presser regarding Obama invitation of Common’s to the WH. Barack Obama is a supporter of police and is against violent and misogynous lyrics, yet he is willing to overlook it because he is just that kind of a swell guy. NICE. So its ok that the Great Barack Hussein Obama speaks out against violence and praises cops, but when it comes time for action and symbolism, Obama says screw you and invites a cop-killing promoting rapper to the White House.

To borrow a line from one of Obama’s past racial gaffes, me thinks Obama is acting stupidly. The Daily Caller has transcribed some of the lyrics of this Poet Lauriat. Certain things this President has done have been unforgivable … this one is right at the top of the list. Maybe the NJ police and police across America will remember this slap in the face in 2012 when they vote.

BTW America, how’s that “Hope & Change” working out for you?

What would happen if a white singer who made racist comments in their lyrics and praised individuals who killed blacks was invited to the WH by a white President? Think the MSM would be calling for impeachment?

Bill O’Reilly opened his show tonight talking about this outrage. Obama doesn’t think, act or react as most Americans do. How many times does he have to do outrageous things?

This is really too funny, criticizing the fact that the wife of the President invited a rapper who (11 years ago) wrote a song about someone who killed a cop nearly 40 years ago.
If that’s the best you can do re-election is in the bag for 2012. LOL

BTW, what does this really have to do with reelection in 2012 … it has to do with having a clue and respecting those who put their life on the line every day. It has to do with character. Obviously Obama is without.

My father is a retired LEO; but served over 30 years. Common is nothing but a liar liberal douche bag. He is not from the projects; actually grew up well to do. He’s just a libtard moron looking for a platform.

This guy is disgusting. He is right up there with Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine and the Beasties for raising money for a cop killer.

The WH is up to dirty tricks and this invite was a way to distract the American people from the diaster to our country.

    7. Bill B on May 12th, 2011 6:27 am

Our local CBS station made a comment about this subject this morning (which actually surprised me that they brought it up at all). But after the comment they made it did not surprise me so much because they said the White House is under scrutiny again because this guy made some controversial comments about President Bush in the past. They did not say one word about the cop killer comments he made. Like I said it was CBS and I was surprised they said anything at all.

COMMON THUG IS MORE LIKE IT. THUGS HANG WITH THUGS AND THE WHITE HOUSE IS LOADED WITH THUGS AS IS THE WHOLE DEMOCRAT PARTY.

    9. Flippy on May 12th, 2011 7:06 am

Not a rap fan, but I did read the lyrics. He isn’t praising the killing of cops, he is saying that he doesn’t believe that Assata killed the trooper …that is quite different.

Arguing innocence is different from arguing justification.

This is not on the level of other “cop killer” rap songs like the ones by Ice-T.
      ____________________
SM: When you sing a song that praises the innocence of a convicted cop killer and go to the WH on the very week that police accross America honor their fallen … THAT IS FRIGGIN SICK.

Common has ever right to be as ass and sing the song and have that opinion, that is his freedom of speech. People have a right to be fools. The issue is not with COMMON, its with OBAMA!

No way should Common have been invited to the White House. Barack and Michelle should be ashamed of themselves. This is inexcusable and without defense. Imagine if a white president did something comparable where they sang a song that professed the innocence fo a Klansman who killed a black person, and that person was invited to the WH.

      Are you imagining? Enough said.

Rap is a ‘Song’? Puleeze, it is simply a speech
chanted in monotone simple rhymes with perhaps
drums and instruments rolling in the background.
If that ‘speech’ had content related to real world
problems facing us, ie: Jobs, Economy, War, International
Policy, Energy Policy, Debt Abuse, Overgrown Government,
and such, it might be tolerable to reasonable folks who
currently don’t want the White House dragging the gutter
      for ‘entertainment’.

    11. Scott on May 12th, 2011 10:54 am

Flippy…you are showing your true age…of course..a libtard such as you would twist words around to make it fit your little opinion.

I’ve heard the song several times and read the lyrics and only a person in a coma couldn’t surmise that he is PRAISING a cop-killer. You don’t have to read between the lines to know he is praising this wacked out leftist b***ch!

#5…you live in your momma’s basement don’t you? Punk! Thug!

It must be terrible that your life is so lonely that you try to diminish the fact that a cop was killed 40 years ago. To the family that lost this heroic LEO; they still don’t ever forget nor will they ever forget!

I pray and hope someone in your family isn’t innocently gunned down…if it does…then I hope you eat a big pile of dogshiz!

You keep thinking that 2012 is in the bag…only a SHEEPLE like you would believe that…

What’s racist card is Obama going to play when Herman Cain wins the Republican nomination? He won’t be able to and that’s the only plan he has; race card and scare tactics!

Your President is an immature person; talking about civility with the other party but at the same time saying childish things such as a moat with alligators…unreal….

He is out campaigning while our economy is STILL in druthers with no signs of it recovering as the housing market CONTINUES to crash!

BTW; guess who’s tab is paying for his new multi million dollar campaign bus?

    12. Michelle Smith on May 12th, 2011 12:09 pm

I don’t know much about Common and I am not a fan of rap but I don’t agree with this decision. He is free to rap about whatever he wants and people are free to buy his work or not but this is not someone who is a role model for our youth and should not be praised as such. I did not agree with Michelle Obama promoting Beyonce’s music either as she is not a role model I would want my kids looking up to. I don’t have a problem with Beyonce I just don’t think it’s appropriate for our children. These rappers and entertainers have a big influence and I don’t think it’s classy to be singing/rapping about sex, drugs, killing and using the “N” word and calling women “Ho’s” It’s disrespectful and classless.

I think the President and First Lady could have found a more classy person for Poetry Night at the White House.

It shows a total lack of respect for morality in this Country.

I find it rather disgusting myself.

    13. Flippy on May 12th, 2011 1:11 pm

      #11 Scott =

What age am I showing to be? I am not hiding my age, I am 38 for whatever you get from that.

      ——-

“only a person in a coma couldn’t surmise that he is PRAISING a cop-killer. ”

He is praising someone convicted of killing a cop, I will give you that much without argument.

But it is not the “cop-killing” that he is praising; he thinks she didn’t do it; as in innocent.

Unlike you, I haven’t heard the song. No interest in doing so; but I have read the lyrics, today, in order to form an opinion.

As for that opinion, I find myself in agreement with #12 (Michelle Smith) on this; but I just don’t share the outrage of SM and, apparently, you. I don’t see this song as being a “cop-killer” song and therefore I find the overall story drummed-up-nothing.

      #11 scott (again).

You keep thinking that 2012 is in the bag…only a SHEEPLE like you would believe that…
      …….
I don’t. I know you don’t bother actually reading anything say, but just in case let me say again that I don’t think its in the bag and I don’t think that Obama is doing such a great job. If I did, I wouldn’t spend time reading sites like this one in order to research issues.

I said at least a dozen times that I hope the GOP nominates a candidate I can vote for.

    15. super dave on May 12th, 2011 1:46 pm

crap is not music. this is the first white house that openly invites terrorists, socialists, dictators, criminals and racists to hob nob on our dollars. the obamas see this as nothing but a big party for them at our expense.
not to mention that this is the first white house to offer convicts and tax evaders jobs.
it’s run just like africa, take everything the people have and leave them with nothing but a democrat mess to clean up.

As a musician, I can tell you that rap is the most primative expression that can be considered music. Rap is a modern version of rhythmic chants developed over 40,000 years ago.

These so called rap singers produce the vilest, most worthless chants to ensnare the uneducated young in our current society.

The fact that such a person could be invited to the White House is an example of the low life’s that are the current occupants.

Sarah Palin was so successful as a governor, she graduated early “Bitter Quitter”, she real is a “Dan Quayle” in heels. She clearly loves “dishing it out” but real can’t take it because she loves playing the victim card. Poor thing she fail as a VP candidate (her lie that her daughter was engaged was such a farce), her stand-up comic fiasco on the Jay Leno Show, please, her TV show canceled after declining rating, I guess running for Prez is the only thing she can look forward to, but since she is a coward she will only throw small minded rocks, poor thing. Since we already had an idiot “W” that caused our current economic debacle, America knows not to trust in fools who think they are brilliant. One of the reason for “W” failure was his drinking, Palin just has bad genes.

      Eleonora,

There are no statutes of limitation on murder. Best recall, the years make no difference. It’s as fresh today as it was 40 years ago, and the penalty is just as real.

A skunk always reveals his true colors, and he doesn’t have to spray you in the face to do so.

I just love it every time the president “acts stupidly”, because that just means each time, he is 100,000 votes closer to not being re-elected.

Keep the stupid up Mr. president.

Where do you come up with the BS you are spewing? If you knew anything at all about GWB, you’d know that he quit drinking years ago.

You are one sorry ass excuse of a Libtard. Can you be any more stupid or bitter with your post?

Stay on topic, Moron. It was about whether or not it was acceptable to the American Public that the Rapper Common was to be a guest on Poetry Night. Hmnnnnnnnn…guess Kanye wasn’t available.

There are bigger things going on in the world and US that people should be worried about, but to focus on a rapper that is not going to change much if he goes to the white house or not is just a waste of time.

Sm: There are many things going on and this is one of them. That does not mean you ignore it. You think its a waste of time as to a President inviting rapper who slurs cops during the very week that America honors fallen hero police officers, really? You think the People’s House should have such an invitee and a President should be void of such character and be so disconnected. Really?

      You might want to reconsider.

Montana – if you want to go there; then back it with some facts moron….What’s Bill Clinton’s excuse then? He inhaled? LOL!

The current Prez also smoked the funny weed too!

Morons like you scare me; because my kids have to grow up in an America with liberal twits like you!
