Barack Obama Allows Photos of Dead American Soldiers But Not Terrorist Osama Bin Laden

Maybe President Barack Hussein Obama would like to explain this one to “We the People” and who ever is the GOP nominee for President in 2012 better damn ask him!

Isn’t this special, as reported by the Gateway Pundit, President Barack Obama was against the release of pictures of Osama Bin Laden but Obama had no issue with releasing pictures of a coffins of dead Unites States soldiers.

The official Obama policy:

Photos of dead US soldiers – Good.
Photos of dead Osama Bin Laden – Bad.

This week President Barack Obama stated that the US would not release any “kill” pics of Osama Bin Laden as he did not want to incite more violence against Americans. One would think that popping two bullets in an unarmed Bin Laden’s head would probably have done much the same. However, if Obama has a no release policy of photos, maybe he can explain the hypocrisy of releasing pics of dead American soldiers? How could the release of these pics be beneficial to America? As Weasel Zippers states, Spiking the other team’s football apparently not a problem”.

Now, the Obama administration has decided to open the gates of Dover. In a policy to be unveiled today, Pentagon officials told reporters, Defense Secretary Robert Gates — the only holdover from the Bush administration — will announce that news photos of flag-draped coffins will be allowed, as long as families agree.

key point; the photos of the dead soldiers are different because their families want them to be.

SM: Sorry, its not different. So what if a family member of Osama said it was ok, would that make it different? You either have a policy or you don’t.

The military censors photos of US casualties. When they acknowledge the death of a US soldier, they don’t show “kill” shots. Dumbbell.

SM: ooooh, dumbbell, there a 5 yea old come back.

Maybe if you used the commonsense of some one older than a 5 yo you would understand that the point was releasing photos as a means of inciting or demoralizing a country and a military. Are you on the LEFT really that simple?

We are being ‘subjected’ to a President of the United States
of America that is pre-occupied with such un-Presidential
tasks as Meddling With Our Businesses, Dictating Our Eating
Habits, Issuing Legislation and Regulations from the Oval
Office, Favoring Unions, Imposing Medical Care Control,
and Failing to keep his word on almost everything. This is
the inspiring kind of guy we should re-elect in 2010.

Me : Clearly Osama’s family don’t have a say,if it was under G.W.B. it would be the other way around, the Bin Ladens would sign some contracts with Haliburtons in return they would get Osama’s body for a proper burial.
      _______________
SM: You just lost your credibility as you brought up Haliburton. You are so filled with hate that you cannot see that showing pics of US military caskets had everything to do with depressing American opinion of the war.

So pictures of flag draped coffins are now the same as graphic pictures of a deceased person hit by a bullet in the head?
Apples and oranges, you guys getting a bit desperate to criticize the President in this triumphant week. lol

SM: If frightens me that the LEFT is this simple.

The point is, once again—Obama is quite the hypocrite.

Personally, I agree with his decision this early in to the fray. However—it is only a matter of time till they leak out all over the internet.

At that point—then what? I saw some very touching photos of American Soldiers in Afghanistan at work helping injured Civilians. The whole thing is heartbreaking.

Bin Laden’s death is actually a joyous occasion for a Murdering Terrorist who didn’t deserve life after all of those lives he has taken.

P.S. Have to admit though, I am kind of dying to see the pics. My Bad.

I personally wouldn’t look at them, but they should be released, if only as a warning to the terrorist.

The “it will incite the Muslim World” thing just doesn’t fly with me.

If it incites Muslims to violence against our military, then we will know which ones to kill.

    9. lch on May 8th, 2011 8:27 am

Bush received the same criticism on the casualties in Iraq. There’s just stupid retarded people on both sides like you who think they can use the military for their political agenda. Still a dumbbell.
      _______________
SM: Name calling will pretty much only get you banned. You do not know anything about me or my families involvement in the military and the fact that they many are buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Please do not make accusations that are of yourself and Obama. I am the last person who uses the military for a political agenda, that is the role of politicians.

The role of the military is to kill and blow things up. I respect the military solder, the same cannot be said of the politicians who use them for their political gain.

So, it is okay for our enemies to be happy seeing all of our flag draped coffins? Dancing and jumping with joy as more and more picts of dead US soldiers are released… Doesn’t that encourage them to kill more US soldiers? Just saying…

    11. Michelle Smith on May 8th, 2011 12:42 pm

He can release torture pictures and abuse at Gitmo that was a matter of National Security but he will not release pictures of a dead terrorist.

Anything he can do to make our Men & Women in uniform look bad he’s all for but when it comes to the Muslims, we certainly don’t want them to look bad now do we?

This President is a joke and has no clue how to be a leader and does not represent the great U.S.A.

I think its different; For starters, there is an entirely different intent.

The government is “allowing” the pictures to be released upon the request/approval of the family. That implies that the family gets the final say.

For Bin Laden, we are not “allowing” the Bin Laden family that choice, we are making it for them.

John Ellsworth, president of Military Families United who lost a son in Iraq in 2004, said the survivors should be able to decide whether the coffins should be photographed.

“Some people want to celebrate the lives of their fallen and share their fallen hero with the American people,” he said, “while others want to hold them a little closer to the vest and keep it private. We should respect that.
