Politics of the Absurd: US Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) Says Republicans Out to Get Elmo with PBS Cuts
How can anyone take Democrats seriously anymore?
US Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) stated during a floor speech that GOP efforts to cut PBS spending were due to a vendetta that the Republicans have with Elmo. What! How pathetic have Democrats become? How ignorant could any one Democrat Senator be? Every one knows that the GOP has a vendetta against Bert & Ernie. Duh!
Just curious, do tax payer $’s really need to pay for Elmo and Katy Perry playing tag? It only wasn’t
seen because of parent outrage, not because of PBS
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that House Republicans want to strip government funding of PBS because they have a “vendetta against Elmo.”
Boxer made the comments during a floor speech where she made the case for her bill that would ensure that the president and lawmakers are not paid if a government shutdown occurs.
Boxer claimed that funding 4 hours of the Iraq war could keep PBS afloat; however, asMichelle Malkin reminds us … so could Barbara Boxer’s earmarks.
House Republicans passed a bill last month that would cut spending from both National Public Radio and PBS. But wait, according to Boxer the vendettas do not stop with Elmo. She claims that the GOP has a ”vendetta against healthcare” and a “vendetta against clean energy.” Good grief, how did this brain surgeon get elected? No Senator Boxer, the GOP has an issue with out of control Democrat and Obama spending, they have an issue with record debt, they have an issue with sticking the children and grandchildren with monster debt, they have an issue with being extorted from foreign countries for energy

“Barbara!, Barbara!, Barbara!”
“John!, John!, John!”
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself, it’s an old Boy Scout joke.
Jerry
Barbara has worked very hard for many
years to achieve recognition for her title
of ‘Senator Boxer’. Given her reasoning
ability, she must have worked incredibly
hard for all that time.
When I was young, I worked in a “school” for the criminally insane.
There was this black guy named Vernon who reminds me a lot of Barbara Boxer.
Vernon would walk around pushing a bicycle with two flat tires, singing opera. I don’t know what Vernon’s crime was, maybe singing out of tune.
Anyway, Vernon was a master of escape; and he would flee the institution on a weekly basis. The school would call the police and say they had an escapee, and the police would ask for a description. “A big black guy, pushing a bicycle with two flat tires.” Vernon would be quickly apprehended and brought back “home”.
Why does Barbara remind me of Vernon? Well, they both squawk and scream in a high-pitched voice out of tune, and they both push a bicycle with two flat tires around.
The front tire is her ego, and the back tire is her Libtard view of the world. She, like Vernon is not going to go far on two flat tires.
Some additional quotes from Sen Boxer’s floor speech:
“Let’s do this the way we know it should be done, which is a balanced approach. Cut spending where it is wasteful, where it is useless, where it is dumb to spend money. Spend it where it makes sense–on our kids.
The things my colleagues in the House did without one Democratic vote are shocking. The experts tell us we could lose between 700,000 and 1 million jobs–between 700,000 and 1 million jobs–if we go with their package. They need to sit and talk with us. Let’s reason together.
They cut $100 billion off the President’s budget. We have already cut $40 billion. Let’s meet in the middle. But let’s not threaten as many as 1 million jobs.”
So the question I have here is: who is for the GOP budget cuts that are estimated to slash jobs as estimated?
“Drop the political vendettas. Come to the table and let’s find the cuts that make sense. Put a little more faith in your Democratic colleagues since we are the only ones who balanced the budget and created a surplus and 23 million jobs. I do not need to hear lectures about that. They can talk all they want. The last balanced budget was under Bill Clinton. The last surplus was under Bill Clinton. The last great economic growth was under Bill Clinton.”
Given this historical record, should they try to find cuts that make sense?
Finally, to the “Elmo” comment. All I can say is: isn’t hyperbole great!
