Gallup Poll: 66% Favor Tax Cuts While Democrats in Congress Rail Against Them, Liberal MSM Loses its Mind

Barack Obama was for tax cuts on the rich, before he was against it …

Wonder why Democrats had massive losses in the 2010 midterm elections? Maybe its because they are completely out of touch with the American people. Democrats are out of touch and Obama hasn’t a clue to what h is doing as he flip-flops.

Gallup released a poll dealing with the extension of the Bush era tax cuts that show an overwhelming majority of American are in favor of the tax cuts. Didn’t just the other day Barack Obama tell the American public that there were polls against it? Of course now Obama has flip-flopped and is praising the Bush era tax cuts and that they are necessary to create jobs. What? 66% of Americans are in favor of tax cuts for all, that includes 85% of Republicans, 67% of Independents and most notably 52% of Democrats.

After railing against tax cuts for the so-called rich and making it a major plank in his political platform in 2008, Obama now tells Democrats, Don’t topple economy by rejecting tax deal. Hmm, just the other day Obama said that there was no possibility of the US experiencing a double dip recession, he has flip-flopped on that as well.

President Obama warned his fellow Democrats on Wednesday that they risk plunging the country into a double-dip recession if they reject his tax-cut deal with Republicans.

As the White House intensified pressure on the president’s own party, and treated the package as a fait accompli, the Senate appeared to move toward passing it swiftly.

Needless to say, the LEFT is beside themselves with Obama complete 180 on tax cuts. And from the Gatway Pundit, there is Keith Olbermann who blasted Barack Obama last night for “appeasing” Republicans by allowing wealthy Americans to keep their money. Does that make Barack Obama, the WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD?

That’s weird. When Obama appeases terrorists, the Taliban or the killer Iranian regime, democrats don’t bat an eye. But, when Obama “appeases” Republican lawmakers in America, (the real enemy to socialism) the “progressives” come unglued.

This post is idiotic. Obama goes to the middle on tax cuts and you still do not cut him a break. Hmmmmmm……………now it is confirmed that Obama can not do anything to please people like you. Get a grip

Gallup’s poll is flawed in that they only gave respondents a choice between extending all tax cuts or extending no tax cuts at all. It’s a Hobson’s choice and doesn’t represent the only choices.

On the other hand, Bloomberg asked about extending the top end tax cuts, which is what the rebellious dems oppose, and they found that only 1/3 support that. “Even among backers of the cuts for the wealthy, fewer than half say they should be made permanent.” (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-12-08/obama-s-compromise-on-extending-highest-income-tax-cuts-unpopular-in-poll.html)

You need to get the hate out your heart for the President and compliment him when he does something good. You cant hate the man all the time and if you do…….I know exactly why

As a frustrated progressive, I am excited to see a spinal cord emerge among Democratic reps. Perhaps if this were a natural phenomenon the November results would have been different. Liberal voters lost much faith in the Democratic majority who failed to show any stones for two years, and as a result many progressives failed to show at the polls. I sadly expect this to backfire as their weak knees win out…but I can still have Hope can’t I??

SM: Too bad that is not the message that the voters displayed in the 2010 elections. They soundly rejected progressive, liberal Democrats, their policies and agenda.

See you in 2012 where WE THE PEOPLE will finish the job and make Democrats a minority fir generations to come.

More name calling from the Liberals, but it’s getting old. We waste our breath defending baseless attacks. It’s just pointless to argue with this type of mentality. We have to just stick to the facts.

I did not vote for President Obama, but our country did and he is our President. We also voted again in the mid terms and sent many liberals packing. These are the facts. I’m glad there was a compromise made. If this is rejected, it will be revisited in January and the republicans will pass it anyway. Everything else is a political show.

The man is not a citizen and he is a lying Muslim…maybe the Republicans can expose this….the Democrats along with the campaign locked and sealed all of his documents…if he is found guilty, prison!!!!!

    8. Dolf on December 10th, 2010 6:08 am

ofcourse the politicians would vote for extending that rich mens tax cuts.

afterall…they make/ have enough to benefit

what saddens me is the fact that the republicans were ready to jam the wheels so they could get this tax cut

F* the unemployed, F* the factory workers, F* the middleclass..Let us have our tax cut
      ____________
SM: You know Dolf, so are so misinformed … no, you are just a communist.

Who the hell gave you the right to take other people’s money and give it to others? Seriously, a flat tax is the answer. Just because people bust their ass and take chances and risk, they should have a greater % of their $’s taken. Really?

Here is a math problem for you and other socialislt …

A rich SOB who owns a business and hires malcontents like you makes $400,000 a year. They are taxes at 25%. They would pay $100,000 in taxes.

You, the employee who takes no risk other than getting up out of bed in the morning and working 9-5 make $50,000 and are taxed 25%. You pay $12,500.

Um, who do you think pays the majority of the tax $’s?

But no, that’s not good enough for you and your ilk. You want to steal other people’s money.

As for unemployment, if you cannot get a job after 99 weeks … you are not trying. You have the obligation to do anything to get a job, that is not the responsibility of others. Some people travel 100′s of miles to work, move to different states and change careers altogether.

Every check out the jobs available?

Thanks for the answer to Dolf Red. Yes, this is NOT a tax cut, this bill would simply allow hard working Americans to KEEP their money.

Really, if the US Government RAISED taxes to 50% for everyone – think how much the deficit could be reduced! But it wouldn’t be. Because Congress has learned to spend not only what it is given but then some. There’s always a huge wish list and that list always includes gifting those who produce nothing with the money of those that do produce.

That said, when you see the PORK that has been thrown into this tax bill, you will understand why I say – vote NO. This is criminal.

#8: in reference to your math problem; if business (sales) decreased for the owner and the income dropped from $400k to only $50k, then the owner and employees would pay the same taxes. Also, if the malcontents had income from a second job, their taxes would be more than the owners. Taxes are paid based on income level, not strictly comparing one person to another.

Here is another idea: if the owner had gross business income of $600K, and had hired 8 workers for $50k, then the net business income drops to $200K [600 - (8 * 50) = 200]. Because regular business expenses are deductible, the taxable income can be much less than gross income.

#9: can you explain what will happen if no new law is created to change tax rates? My understanding is that the Bush tax cuts will terminate and taxes will increase to the prior levels. This could be rightly called the Bush tax increase, since this is what the law he signed calls for.

Are you saying that a law passed after this increase that lowers tax rates is not a tax cut?
