NY Councilman Michael Wolfensohn Calls Cops on Two 13 Year Old Boys For Selling Cupcakes

This has what it has come to in the United States … politicians calling the police on teens for merely selling cupcakes? We must break their entrepreneural spirit, how dare teens experience capitalism.

Just to answer the question on everyones mind … Yes, the fool is a Democrat.

Dumb ass of the week award

That is correct,New Castle, NY Councilman Michael Wolfensohn called the police on two 13 year old boys after he discovered they were selling cupcakes with out a permit. You just can’t make this crap up. Calling the police on two kids selling cupcakes in a park for $1 each. This is the message that a dumb ass politician wants to send to children? Some who it is expected that the boys should have purcahsed a permit to sell things in the park costs $150 to $350 for two hours and a $1 million insurance certificate is also required. Who elected this MORON! What ever happened to common sense?

A politician in a New York suburb called police on two 13-year-old boys for selling cupcakes and other baked goods without a permit, according to a report Monday.

The Journal News in Westchester County said the boys, Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff, had a brisk business selling cupcakes, cookies, brownies and Rice Krispie treats for $1 each in a Chappaqua park.

However, New Castle Councilman Michael Wolfensohn called the police after discovering the sale was not for charity, the newspaper said.

Kevin’s mother, Laura Graff, said the teens were “good kids” who were scared by the police call.

“I am shocked and sad for the boys. It was such a great idea, and they worked hard at it,” Laura Graff, Kevin’s mother, told The Journal News. “But then some Town Board member decided to get on his high horse and wreck their dreams.”

What kind of a delusional, asinine rat bastard of a politician must one be to actually call the policy on two 13 year old boys for selling cupcakes? As stated by Jammie Wearing Fool, looks like this fool confiscated the cupcakes for himself as it looks like he has not missed a dessert.

For all you kids who think its OK to sell lemonade, wrong … You need a $150 permit to sell a 50 cent cup or the face the wrath of the law.

Why do we elect so many fools to office? What the hell is the mater with the American people?

    6. mac on November 16th, 2010 12:09 pm

      They’re elected because:
      1. Our elections resemble speed or internet dating.
      2. Normal people can’t fathom the level of deceit and lying, which takes place.
      3. Their weird backgrounds are obscured, or normalized. (Never having had a real job is not normal)
      4. As adults, our erroneous thinking continues to give latititude, credence, minus any valid reason, to same old school day type “in-crowd.”

You’ll never be their “friends,” only mocked constituents to be baffled by B.S.

So fire them. As voters, we now hold the power to send these “in-crowd” losers to the showers.

This dem. will be put on the Obamacare Death Panel, Nancy Pelosi will make sure of that.

We elect a bunch of fools to office because we don’t check their background well enough. This is where local politics needs to be fully examined by the people prior to voting for them.

SOMEONE PLEASE POST THIS LOSER’S EMAIL ADDRESS – I would personally like to express what an ass he is. It’s just like a liberal to shut down entrepreneurs – guess this jackass would rather not teach the kids how to build a business and take pride in learning life skills….This idiot would rather have us all dependent on the government for everything !!! I am SO sick of hearing these types of stories (last month the little girl with the lemonade stand) ! These commies should just pack up and get the hell out of America – since they have seemed to forget what this country was built upon. Wish I was president, I would round up all these liberal freaks and send them to Saudi Arabia to live.

I hope the voters will smarten up and not vote in complete ignorant buffoons such as this clown. I feel sorry for his family, I would be humiliated to live under the same roof.

Does anyone know whether this moron is a Liberal or a Conservative? He reaks of Conservative but, some other posters on here seem to imply he’s a Liberal. Help!!

Are you kidding Me?????? Here we go again with a politician that has all his priorities upside down. In one of the most crucial times our economy is facing, looking for young, inspired minds, you have someone that is acting out like a ‘bully’ in grade school. Mr. Wolfensohn, maybe you were tormented and/or bullied when you were an eighth grader, but come on, after you have inquired whether or not they were doing this for charity, you call the police on these kids. Are you serious? What I find even more amazing is that you spent the towns resources to shut these eighth graders down. Too bad the producers from one of those ‘Cop’ shows weren’t around to film this ‘high, intensive criminal action’. Did the officer go in with his gun drawn? Maybe next time you should call SWAT instead of doing the most reasonable thing and just discussing this with a child’s parent(s).

Being an official for any town, any state, or for our country requires certain leadership qualities. You have definitely showed the lack of any qualities by handling this situation as you did. Calling this a ‘non-issue’, that is what it should have been before you even approached the boys in the very beginning. And not addressing this publically, stop being such a coward. If you have any character and integrity, you should publically apologize for the way in which you handled this situation . Then begin some type of program to challenge the youth within your community to use their intelligence to hopefully make some change in our future leaders and business. In addition, you should fund this yourself instead of using the resources of New Castle as you did by having a policeman rush in and put a halt to this heinous crime. Maybe, just maybe, your will save your reputation within the community.

I don’t even live in New Castle, but this is very disturbing. I am in hopes that there can possibly be a positive spin on this incident. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is how the situation is handled afterwards that will make the biggest impressions. I hope the rest of the representatives of New Castle, as well as Mr. Wolfensohn, figure out how to turn this negative press. This just doesn’t make Mr. Wolfensohn look bad, but it taints the entire leadership within the community. Time to sharpen your pencil and regain the confidence of your community.

To Red Blooded American… How do you politley say you’re a retard…. This is wrong on so many levels. There are kids that are stealing and dealing drugs, but everyone is afraid of them… Let’s target kids that are putting forth an effort??? Come on…

free enterprise is a dirty word to a communist
democrat. they don’t want you to better yourself
but would have you dependent on their worthless
government which is nothing more than criminal
      street thugs.

And, when I email this poor excuse for a Politician, thinking about using a fake name and I will not be kind or polite. (Sorry, Red.) No point in being inappropriate or graphic, but cut the PC Crap—-that FOUL was way wayyyy below the belt.

Time to take America back into our own hands, and time to tear all of these Idiots a new one, IMO.

Don’t mistake my intense passion for insanity, please just cannot take any of these JOKERS anymore.

Thanks for posting this and including email. It’s not often that someone pulls such a dick move that I feel the need to send them a non-PC email, but this jerk deserves it. To have the audacity to go after children… *shakes head*

This is not the message we should be sending our children. We should be supporting the entrepreneurial hard working spirit, not threatening it with the cops and legal ramifications. I hate what our society has become

      Of Cupcakes and Kings

An Open Letter to Michael Wolfensohn of the Town of New Castle, NY

      Dear Mr. Wolfensohn:

I side with many other people in finding the actions you have taken against Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff, halting their sale of homemade cupcakes and treats, to be an arrogant and reprehensible abuse of power. Like a great many other politicians from the township level on up to our President, each of you see yourselves as superior to your fellow men and women and wish to rule over us, restricting our free choice to act independently in the pursuit and realizations of our individual dreams. You believe that your position grants you the ability to regulate every aspect of our existence, while reducing the rest of us to the role of beggars who must come, hat in hand, asking you to grant us your beatific permission, whether it is to practice our chosen profession or to sell a measly cupcake — always of course, accompanied by the necessary bribe, oops, I mean requisite administrative or licensing fee.

Often, people are confused by the actions of politicians when they shroud their oppressive and unconstitutional acts in misdirecting altruistic rhetoric such as the “public good” or the “general welfare”. But here we have a situation where the naked truth is exposed for anyone to see. So Mr. Wolfensohn, thank you for stepping out from behind the curtain and allowing the average citizen to observe the exact nature of your intentions. You have sent a clear message to two thirteen year old boys, wiping away any naive innocence they may have held, and replacing it with a clear understanding of the exact nature of the oppressive society in which they live. It is a lesson I am sure they will never forget — nor will I. The truth is that through your actions, you have made me ashamed to be both an adult and an American.

And to everyone else, whether you are a cab driver, hairdresser, automotive mechanic, realtor, veterinarian, accountant, lawyer, teacher, nurse, dentist, doctor, architect, engineer, therapist, florist, librarian, beekeeper, fortune teller, or any of the hundreds of other licensed and regulated professions, please remember that you are receiving exactly the same treatment as Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff. And where a child should properly be confused and upset at their first exposure to this sort of treatment, we adults know better and should be outraged by it! It is time to put a stop to this abuse. We elected Mr. Wolfensohn, and all of the other politicians, in order to protect our individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness — not for them to become our masters, granted the power to direct and control our lives. Let each of them know that you are a competent adult, capable of managing your own affairs and making your own decisions, and in the name of freedom, you are reasserting your independence and autonomy and will no longer allow them to tell you what you may and may not do with your life.

      Regards,

      C. Jeffery Small
