The Peru authorities stated that they have begun disciplinary actions against those jailers responsible who photographed Joran Van der Sloot, the suspected killer of Stepany Flores. Peru, get your act together and stop acting like Aruba. The hell with disciplinary actions against jailers for taking pics … how about you start the trial of a murderer who has blood on his hands and a mountain of evidence against him in the death of Stephany Flores.

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

Joran Van der Sloot, Hanging with his Homies … what happened to solitary confinement?

Authorities in Peru said Tuesday they have begun disciplinary action against jailers who photographed suspected killer Joran van der Sloot posing with two other men held in connection with high-profile killings there.

The photograph, first aired by the Peruvian television network America TV, shows the 22-year-old van der Sloot standing alongside fellow inmates Hugo Trujillo Ospina and William Trickett Smith II. A fourth man in the picture is not identified.

Peru’s National Institute of Corrections said Tuesday that disciplinary action was in the works over the photo.

“On August 23, the Office of Internal Affairs of the institution began administrative and disciplinary actions with the goal of establishing responsibility over the acts of official misconduct by employees of the Castro Castro Correctional Institution,” the agency announced. “They improperly used photographic equipment that was meant for administrative duties.”

Set free? How do you set free a person charged with 1st degree murder who is awaiting trial? Surely bail is not eligible to individuals who would flee the country who have been charged with murder? Who in their right mind let’s an individual who already tried to flee the jurisdiction out of prison when they are charged with 1st degree murder?

What planet do we live on these days?

Alaska GOP Senate Primary: Sarah Palin & Tea Party Backed Republican Primary Challenger Joe Miller has Slight Lead Against Lisa Murkowski

Could be a big political shocker from the 49th state …

Joe Miller, the Sarah Palin and Tea Party backed Conservative Republican challenger is on the verge fo a huge upset in the Alaska GOP US Senate primary over incumbent Lisa Murkowski. With 84% of precincts reporting according to the Anchorage Daily News, Miller has a 51% to 49% lead over Murkowski, 45,188 votes to 42,633 . There appears to be an upset brewing in Alaska.

U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowskiis battling for her political life this morning against Republican primary challenger Joe Miller, the Tea Party-backed candidate who had a slim lead as ballots continued to be counted overnight. Miller, a Fairbanks attorney, led from when the first returns came in Tuesday night, and was on the verge of pulling off one of the biggest election upsets ever in Alaska. With 84 percent of Alaska’s precincts reporting around 2 a.m., Miller had 45,188 votes to 42,633 for Murkowski.

Miller credited the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for his lead.

“I’m absolutely certain that was pivotal,” he said.

Should we be really be shocked? Maybe only to the MSM. Bill Miller is a strong Conservative, Tea Party backed Republican candidate who got the endorsement of Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska. Miller had a successful message during the campaign and painted Murkowskias too liberal for the times and part of the Washington, DC inside the beltway problem. It would appear that his message may have resonated with the Alaska voters.

Florida Senate Primaries: Democrat Meek Wins … BIG WINNER Tonight is Republican Marco Rubio & GOP Voter Turnout

The real winner tonight in Florida was Republican Marco Rubiowho ran virtually unopposed in the GOP US Senate primary. Think its not about voter turnout and who is more highly motivated to vote in 2010, think again. Voter enthusiasm is going to play a big roll this November and Democrats are on the wrong side of the poll.

Tonight in the Sunshine state, Florida US Senate candidate Kendrick Meek won the Democrat primary over billionaire Jeff Greene in a rout. This sets up what should be one of the most hotly contested and most watched Senate races of the midterm elections and a three way race between Marco Rubio (R), Kendrick Meek (D) and so-called independent Charlie Crist.

Prior to tonights primary wins Marco Rubio was gaining traction in the polls and in a recent PPP poll had surged into the lead, Rubio 40%, Crist 32%, Meek 17%. Just what had been predicted is starting to play out in the polls. Crist’s poll numbers are dropping as Democrats are backing their candidate and the GOP distances themselves away from the “independent man”.

Democrats will get their stronger candidate if Kendrick Meek wins the Florida Senate primary tonight as expected- but the biggest winner coming out of the primary may be Marco Rubio. PPP finds he would begin the general election in the lead at 40%, followed by Charlie Crist at 32%, and Meek at 17%. If Jeff Greene were somehow able to pull off the upset tonight it would be much closer with Rubio at 37%, Crist at 36%, and Greene at only 13%.

Democrats, be afraid, be very afraid. Massive GOP turnout in Florida tonight spells doom for Dems in 2010 midterm elections.

However, the huge winner tonight in Florida was not Meek who trounced his Democrat opponent. It was Marco Rubio who ran basically unopposed and actually received more votes that Meek. According to election results Rubio received over 1 million votes. The Republican voter turnout in FLA was simply amazing, a precursor of things to come this Fall in the 2010 midterm elections as Republican voters are much more highly motivated to vote than Democrats. Meek picked up a little over 500,000 votes and all the votes cast in the Democrat primary for US Senate did not equal the number of votes received by Rubio, who ran all but uncontested … look at Crist and Meek this November. One would suspect that there will be an even greater turnout for the midterm elections, can Rubio keep such momentum up with mass appeal by voters in such large numbers … the Magic 8 balls says, signs point to yes.

Look for the polls to widen with Rubio taking a commanding lead and Meek pealing off Crist votes following the primaries. Rasmussenpresently has the race Rubio 38%, Crist 33% and Meek 21%. RCPhas Rubio ahead in most every poll as well. A Meek victory was the worst thing that could happen for Crist and Democrats. Meek will hold on to the black and liberal vote in the Sunshine state as opposed to them wondering off and voting for Crist if Greene had picked up the Democrat nomination. Power Democrats are now going to have to campaign for Meek. Is Obama going to leave Meek out in the cold and abandon a fellow Dem? It would appear that all the hand shakes, hugs and praising of Obama by Crist were all for naught.

Come this November, the wide gap in the enthusiasm divide between Republican and Democrat voters is going to play a critical role in who wins the House, Senate, Governor and State Legislature races.

California Near Bankruptcy But Can Afford $578 Million School … Bailing Out Idiocy

California Uber Alles … If they build it, they will get better grades?

More fiscal responsibility from liberals in California.

California is in financial despair, they are an economic nightmare, they are laying off teachers and some how they find a way to afford a $578 million school in Los Angeles? This state has the audacity to ask for a bail out? Didn’t Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the Democrats just ship off another $26 billion off to the teachers unions?

Taj Mahal Schools

In this photo taken on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, the Visual and Performing Arts High School is seen in Los Angeles. Next month’s opening of the Robert F.Kennedy Community Schools will be auspicious for a reason other than its both storied and infamous history as the former Ambassador Hotel, where the Democratic presidential contender was assassinated in 1968. With an eye-popping price tag of $578 million, it will mark the inauguration of the nation’s most expensive public school ever.…

Um, besides the ridiculous waste of tax payers money does any one else see an issue with naming a school after RFK, the building being the very place where he was assassinated? With the lack of wisdom the planners used in building this money pit in the first place, lets hope the food core is not names after Sirhan Sirhan as well.

Next month’s opening of the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools will be auspicious for a reason other than its both storied and infamous history as the former Ambassador Hotel, where the Democratic presidential contender was assassinated in 1968.

With an eye-popping price tag of $578 million, it will mark the inauguration of the nation’s most expensive public school ever.

The K-12 complex to house 4,200 students has raised eyebrows across the country as the creme de la creme of “Taj Mahal” schools, $100 million-plus campuses boasting both architectural panache and deluxe amenities.

“There’s no more of the old, windowless cinderblock schools of the ’70s where kids felt, ‘Oh, back to jail,’” said Joe Agron, editor-in-chief of American School & University, a school construction journal. “Districts want a showpiece for the community, a really impressive environment for learning.”

So the building makes the learning? Same students, same teachers, same educational system and same parental guidance and some how all is going to change. Wanna bet? Glad to see that the LA bureaucrats have their priorities in order. There is a reason why some states are in financial ruin, they earned it. Why should any one else have to bail these people out for their asinine choices? If we are forces to, then all responsible need to be fired!

The pricey schools have come during a sensitive period for the nation’s second-largest school system: Nearly 3,000 teachers have been laid off over the past two years, the academic year and programs have been slashed. The district also faces a $640 million shortfall and some schools persistently rank among the nation’s lowest performing.

48% of American Voters Call Obama’s Views Extreme, Barack Obama the Moderate, NOT!

Moderate indeed …

What ever happened to that promised Obama, moderate candidate who stated that he would reach across the aisle? What ever happened to there are not red states, there are no blue states, there are just the United States? What happened to that guy who fed America a line during the 2008 Presidential elections?

obama-shocked

Forty-eight percent of American voters now believe that President Barack Hussein Obama’s political views are extreme. One might actually ask them self why the number is not higher? However, as Weasel Zippers asks, how many of this 48% believed the “Hope & Change” dribble and voted for Obama?

Forty-eight percent (48%) of U.S. voters now regard President Obama’s political views as extreme. Forty-two percent (42%) place his views in the mainstream, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

By comparison, 51% see the views of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as mainstream. Thirty-five percent (35%) think Clinton’s views are extreme. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.

However, here is the real number that Obama should be afraid of … 54%. But most voters not affiliated with either party also describe the president’s views as extreme by a 54% to 30% margin. The side by side comparisons of Obama and Hillary Clinton continue.

Justice Department Seeking Individuals who Speak Ebonics … Obama’s New Job Program?

The US Justice Department is hooked on Ebonics …

The US Justice Department is seeking people who speak Ebonics. Wait a minute, you mean this is a real story? It reads like a SNL skit or an article from The Onion. Ebonics is a dialect, are you kidding? Wonder how the Cajun folks feel this? Sorry if I am in the camp that Ebonics is a ”bastardization of the English language”. The Department of Justice needs Ebonics translators to help monitor, translate, and transcribe the secretly recorded conversations of subjects of narcotics investigations. Who knew “crack” was called something different in Ebonics?

The Department of Justice is seeking to hire linguists fluent in Ebonics to help monitor, translate, and transcribe the secretly recorded conversations of subjects of narcotics investigations, according to federal records.

A maximum of nine Ebonics experts will work with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Atlanta field division, where the linguists, after obtaining a “DEA Sensitive” security clearance, will help investigators decipher the results of “telephonic monitoring of court ordered nonconsensual intercepts, consensual listening devices, and other media”

The DEA’s need for full-time linguists specializing in Ebonics is detailed in bid documents related to the agency’s mid-May issuance of a request for proposal (RFP) covering the provision of as many as 2100 linguists for the drug agency’s various field offices. Answers to the proposal were due from contractors on July 29.

As Wizbang states … Life imitates Airplane, “oh stewardess, I speak jive.” Who knew Airplane was just ahead of it’s time. What will this be passed off as, more Obama job creation?

Maybe the DOJ can hire some folks who speak “Downeast” Mainiac, becaause aya, ya can’t get theya from hera. Maybe they can also hire some folks who speack South Jersey or Valley girl as well. I guess it is a good thing for the DOJ that Snooki from Jersey Shore will be releasing a dictionary.

Unreal, that this is what constitutes as sanity in this daya and age or as they say in Ebonics … iz ya’ll kidding, Ebonics a dialect … wa’tch will these assclowns think o’ next?

Feisal Abdul Rauf, Ground Zero Imam Says US Worse than al-Qaeda … “United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida …”

Let the following be a lesson to all … always question and do not ever let anyone tell you to stand down when you know something does not pass the smell test.

Remember Feisal Abdul Rauf, the so-called moderate Muslim imam behind the controversial mosque near Ground Zero? It would appear that some new audio has been discovered where Feisal Abdul Rauf is telling folks overseas that the United States has been far more deadly than al-Qaeda. Hmm, so this is the moderate that is supposed to be a bridge? A bridge to what exactly?

This so-called moderate Muslim who wants to build a mosque near Ground Zero under the guise of peace and understanding actually thinks that the US and al-Qaeda are similar. Unbelievable. Nice job politicians and liberal MSM of vetting this one.

“We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non Muslims,”Feisal Abdul Rauf said at a 2005 lecture sponsored by the University of South Australia. After discussing the U.S.-led sanctions against Iraq under Saddam Hussein, Rauf went on to argue that America is to blame for its testy relationship with Islamic countries.

What complicates the discussion, intra-Islamically, is the fact that the West has not been cognizant and has not addressed the issues of its own contribution to much injustice in the Arab and Muslim world.”

So this is what a moderate Muslim talks like? Or is it as the Jawa Report states and that Feisal Abdul Rauf is nothing more than an extremist wolf in moderate sheep’s clothing? Iguess we now know why he wont call Hamas a terror group, eh?

UNREAL

Read much, much more by Pam Geller at Atlas Shruggs. Yes, this is the so-called moderate Muslim that wishes to build a bridge between Christianity and Islam. It would appear more like a one way road to Islam. Visit Atlas Shruggs and rwead the too numerous quotes and get a real perspective as to who is behind the “near” Ground Zero mosque.

The media frenzy to destroy good, decent Americans who oppose a 15-story mega-mosque on Ground Zero is rabid. Even for them. Despite red flags everywhere and the nationwide grief caused by this grotesque act of Islamic supremacism, why isn’t the media doing its job, investigative journalism?

Instead, the morally ill media is in full-on operational smear machine mode in the raging war of ideas, the information battle space, the objective of which is to erect the Ground Zero mega mosque. Tolerance is a crime when applied to evil (Thomas Mann). Whilst the NY Times front page spins interfaith yarns into PR gold faster than Rumpelstiltskin and accords godlike status to Imam Feisal Rauf, new audio surfaces. Here are a couple of soundbites of tolerance.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf: “We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non Muslims. You may remember that the US-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations. And when Madeleine Albright, who has become a friend of mine over the last couple of years, when she was Secretary of State and was asked whether this was worth it, said it was worth it.

Isn’t it fantastic that the US tax payers are paying $16,000 to have this imam to spread his “moderate” message.

So the USA killed 500,000 children, the Astute Blogger debunks the lie … what happened to their parents?

A special shout out goes to Jim Geraghty of NRO and his comment that in light of Feisal’s words above, “everyone who lectured us about how moderate and sensible Imam Rauf is is invited to eat their words with the sauce of their choice.” Amen brother!

Barack Obama Reaches New Lows in Weekly Gallup Poll … 43% Job Approval, Could Obama be One & Done?

President Barack Hussein Obama continues to fall in the polls, this time “The One” reaches a new low in the Gallup weekly poll with a 43% job approval. It would seem that the only reason why Obama did not fall farther in the polls was because he was on vacation and out of the media spotlight and making matters worse for Americans.

President Obama’s job approval rating slipped to 43% for the week of Aug. 16-22, down one percentage point from the previous weekly low set a week ago.

The new low also marks the first weekly average in which 50% of Americans disapprove of Obama’s job performance. The erosion reflects particularly low ratings at the beginning of last week, including 41% for Aug. 15-17 and Aug. 16-18, the lowest three-day averages of his administration. By the end of the week, however, Obama’s job ratings inched up, averaging 44% approval Aug. 20-22.

It is only a question of time before Obama’s poll numbers fall into the 30′s. What then? Could the unthinkable happen as stated at Hot Air, Could Obama really not run for a second term as stated by Neil Cavuto on Fox News? Personally, I find it hard to believe that Obama would pass up the opportunity to continue to play President.

Cavuto’s point basically is, why would Obama need to run for a second term? Obama has already screwed up the country by having his liberal, socialist agenda passed against the will of the people. The laws passed with take years for the courts and future legislation to undo. For Obama, this is a victory … why would he need a second term?

However, it is too bad this does not represent a victory to America or Americans.

US Governors Races in 2010 Election … GOP Looks to Take Majority Here as Well

GOVERNOR RACES – 2010:

There are presently 26 Democrats and 24 Republican US Governors. Make that 23 Republicans, with one retiring opportunist independent Charlie Crist in Florida who is now running for the US Senate as a so-called independent. So many are focused on the US House and Senate elections where many are predicting the House will go Republicans and the GOP will pick up numerous Senate seats. However, do not forget the all important Governor races in 2010.

There are 37 Gubernatorial races up for grabs in the all important 2010 elections. How important is this years governor’s elections … we just had the 2010 Census and state redistricting lines will be redrawn. Some think Republicans will pick up a net total of 32 by election eve’s end. As Betsy’s Page states, it looked bleak for the GOP after the 2008 elections and Obama was swept into office, my what a difference two years make. GOP governors wins in 2010 will echo a decade.

Democrats now hold 26 of the 50 governorships, with 37 of them on the ballot this year. Stuart Rothenberg, another independent analyst, anticipates that Republicans will pick up eight new governorships, giving them control of 32. Below the radar screens of these elections, Republicans are also optimistic about gaining seats in the 88 legislative chambers (of a total of 99) for which there are elections this year. These legislative elections will determine which party holds the upper hand in the 2011 congressional and legislative reapportionments that will be based on the 2010 census.

Going into the 2010 elections Democrats appear to have a commanding lead in the following six statesas they are considered strong Democrat, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, New York and New Hampshire. Colorado had been considered a toss up state between Democrat John Hickenlooper and Republican Scott McInnis, until Tom Tancredo decides to jump into the race and has all but split the GOP vote and handed the election to the Democrats. Tancredo, who initially supported of McInnis, says he entered the race because neither McInnis or Maes are now capable of winning. Wrong, his entrance in the race guaranteed the GOP would not.

Democrats also appear to be ahead and poised to win in the following two states, Minnesota and Massachusettes.  Of the eight states that are either solid or strongly leaning Democrat, three are considered pick ups from the GOP.

On the Republican side, the GOP is considered a shoe in in the following 14 state governor races, Tennessee, Alabama, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Alaska, Idaho, South Dakota, Utah, Texas, Wyoming and Arizona. Of the 14 predicted wins in 2010, five of the states will be pick-ups from Democrats (TN, MI, IA, OK, WY).
