Republican Primary: Alaska Incumbent US Senator Lisa Murkowski Concedes Defeat to Joe Miller
SHOCKER AND BREAKING NEWS OUT OF ALASKA … LOCAL TEA PARTY CANDIDATE DOES GOOD!
Fox News is reporting that there has been a huge upset in the Republican US Senate primary. Incumbent US Senator Lisa Murkowski has conceded the race to upstart Tea Party candidate Joe Miller. The counting began today and the more the count went on, the worse it became for Lisa Murkowski. It became evident that there was no way that the incumbent US Senator from Alaska Lisa Murkowski could win. As reported at Big Government, ”the trend in the count of absentee ballots makes it virtually impossible that Sen. Murkowski will overtake Joe Miller in the GOP Senate Primary.”
Joe Miller, GOP Senate candidate and next Alaska US Senator
In a major upset, Sen. Lisa Murkowski has conceded her GOP Senate primary race to Tea Party Express favorite Joe Miller, who had the backing of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
“I don’t see a scenario in which the primary will turn out in my favor,” Murkowski said in her concession speech.
Murkowski made the concession speech Tuesday night, a full week after the primary.
Murkowski trailed Miller, a Fairbanks attorney, by 1,668 votes after last week’s primary. Election officials began counting absentee and outstanding ballots Tuesday. Murkowski made slight gains, but was never able to get Miller’s lead below 1,200 votes.

Well they are not short of people who quit in Alaska.
__________
SM: Do not confuse the word quit with sacrifice. Seems that Sarah Palin is a Democrat and RINO’s worst nightmare. Sometimes we do more good in other areas. Alaska’s present Gov seems to be doing just fine.
Dems and Libs are just pissed they connot continue going after Palin as a politician.

Mr Red, you are welcome here in “The Great Land” any time.
Dear AK Mom~ That was a very nice invitation. While many of the readership here has never had the opportunity to meet Red, he is greatly admired and respected for what he does. =)
Red certainly strikes his readership as being well traveled, and we are proud Red does a lot for various agencies in assisting with searches, etc. and helping the parents & families of missing and exploited Children and Adults. These are just some of the things we are aware of, there is probably much more to add to his resume in terms of volunteering services and other causes he supports…this is just one of the many we are aware of. I was impressed at your simple yet nice gesture, and just wanted to tell you so!
P.S.—-Good Luck w/ Joe Miller—your new Mayor. I think that many underestimate much of the population of Alaskans, you are indeed a unique bunch from a truly beautiful and unique State. The amount of vast wilderness and the very essence of the miracle of God’s beauty is quite a sight to behold all over AK! Between the environment and the wildlife, it is absolutely breath taking and awe inspiring. I have only been once, but have never seen anything like it in my life. Simply amazing.
