George Vogel Arrested for Shooting Pepper Spray at Westboro Baptist Church” Protesters at Marines Funeral

62 year old George Vogel was arrested and booked on 16 counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony assault on a police officer for shooting pepper-spray at protesters. Arrested, this dude should have been given a medal and a monetary reward.

Why should he get a medal you ask?

The people that Vogel shot pepper spray at were the reprehensible fools from the Westboro Baptist Church who were protesting at a Marines funeral. Because we all know it is completely appropriate to form a counter protest at a funeral, especially at a military funeral where a brave soldier made the ultimate sacrifice for his /her country. But that is not what the loons at the Westboro Baptist Church are about. They are about them, the publicity and law suits, not God, honor or country.

A motorist fired pepper spray Saturday at a group of demonstrators and counter-protesters outside a funeral for a U.S. Marine in Omaha, Nebraska, police said.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. (11 a.m. ET) as members of a small Kansas church that protests at military funerals and counter-protesters stood nearly a block away from First United Methodist Church during services for Staff Sgt. Michael Bock, 26, who died August 13 in Afghanistan’s Helmand province.

A man in a Ford-150 pickup truck drove by, extended his arm and sprayed with a large can, police said. His vehicle was stopped a few minutes later.

“Initial indications are he was probably targeting the Westboro Baptist Church” protesters, said officer Michael Pecha, a spokesman for Omaha police.

Video Hat Tip: Left Coast Rebel … Westboro Baptist loons getting pepper sprayed

What a rotten example of a group of hate mongers of intolerance hiding behind the civil liberties of freedom of speech and religion. Do not worry, one day the members of the Westboro Baptist Church will be witness to God’s law. Guess what Westboro Baptist members, you are in for an eternal damnation of a lot more than pepper spray.

What might be even more pathetic than the disgraceful members of the Westboro Baptist Church, is that CNN did an entire story and did not even reference the young Marines name who gave his life for his country. Thanks to Weasel Zippers for having the honor and integrity to do so. The heroes name was Staff Sgt. Michael Bock.

Staff Sgt. Michael Bock died August 13 after bring shot in Helmand province while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Bock grew up in Springfield, Nebraska, before moving to Leesburg with his family when he was in high school.

A month after his high school graduation in 2002 Bock went off to Marine boot camp.

Bock leaves behind his wife of seven years and a 3-year-old son, Zander.

God bless you.

the demonstrators should have been sprayed with feces. i’m amazed these leftists haven’t been
      sprayed with bullets instead.
were the patriot Riders there ? usually 50 guys on
harleys is enough to put the leftists running behind the skirts of their bloated wives.

God bless Staff Sgt. Michael Bock’s family and I take umbrage at this so-called Baptist Church that they would have the evil intent of inflicting more pain at the family than they already endured. The MSM will more than likely demand swift retribution for this man protecting the family’s privacy.

May God keep Staff Sgt. Michael Bock safe and blessed in his flock. I am humbled by his and all of our proud warriors’ sacrifice for the United States of America.

Good. If I was on the jury, I would acquit him in a heartbeat. Fred Phelps/Westboro Baptist Church are the most hated along with Osama bin Laden, Joran van der Sloot, Lori Drew, South Hadley 6, Casey Anthony, and Jeremiah Wright. All of them are pscyhopaths of the worst kind and deserve each other. Phelps is no different from Charles Manson, Jim Jones, Osama bin Laden, and Adolf Hitler.

Real Christians don’t protest funerals to further their political beliefs, God said so.

Two wrongs dont make a right. That being said I would applaud him getting out of his car and beating the crap out of a couple of them. I wouldnt even care if a couple woman got it.
I believe these demos are the same as assult. Why is there not a law against this kind of thing. There are freedoms in the land that are just not right. They are doing harm to the survivors of this Hero.

God bless Staff Sgt. Michael Bock’s family, hear hear!

And, yes, #8- I would also have to agree with your statement that there are indeed “some” freedoms in our land that can be abused, therefore kind of making the intepretation of others of some of these, askew.

      Only in America!

    10. Lisa on August 31st, 2010 8:49 pm

God bless Michael Bock may his family always realize that the vast majority of Americans believe he is a HERO…

And, quite frankly, George Vogel you are a hero as well.. the Westboro inbred freaks need to go.

    11. Scott on September 2nd, 2010 8:55 am

Yeah whatever DOLF! Stupid reaction? You are a total tool! His reaction is what hero’s are made of; they should have thrown feces on those pink tee shirt wearing inbred religious zealot douche bags!

They should not be allowed to be present at someone’s funeral; yet this is what exactly the left is made of…libtards!

    12. Dolf on September 2nd, 2010 12:09 pm

yes scott stupid because he got himself arrested and booked for one count of felony assault on a police officer.

    13. Dolf on September 2nd, 2010 12:10 pm

and i can see you throw feces.

I commend George Vogel for standing up against the hate group Westboro Baptist Church. What he did is worth more than just a medal. What would have been better is if he sprayed them with CR gas. The effects of CR gas can last for more than a month, and water makes them worse. I encourage anyone reading this to do what you have to do to make Westboro Hate Cult’s lives a living disaster.

    15. John Meadows on December 21st, 2010 3:21 pm

Um, there was actually only one protester who was sprayed. The majority of the people who were sprayed were innocent by standards. I was there, I was sprayed, it was not cool. You can’t fight ignorance with violence. While the actions of WBC are reprehensible, they should be attacked as a hate organization.

    16. henryintex on December 6th, 2011 10:24 am

Regardless of whether one agrees with the war in Afgahnistan. The soldier was killed in action and his family should be allowed to grieve unmolested. The Westboro Baptist Church’s protests are reprehensible. Mr. Vogel’s actions were actually no less reprehensible. This is a “free” country and such protests, although distasteful, are allowed. In my opinion, the WBC as well as Mr. Vogel are both displaying their feeble mentality.
