Midterm Election Nightmare For Democrats … 50% of American Voters Think Obama Doing Poor Job Handling the Economy
JOBS, JOBS, JOBS … AND THE LACK THEREOF.
The American voters give Barack Obama a failing grade on handling the economy. It’s about the jobs Mr. President. Why does this President appear to be focused only on his socialist agenda and not the creation of jobs?
Barack Obama’s new campaign rhetoric unleashed on the American public is why do you want to give the keys back to the Republicans who drove the car into the ditch? Really Mr. President, as opposed to you and the Democrats who instead of driving us out of the ditch have driven us over the cliff? You made promises to get the car out of the ditch and instead you have buried us even further in the mud. Even worse, the tow truck bill will have to be paid by our grandchildren with a mountain of interest and late fees.
Do we give the keys to those he drove into the ditch or over the cliff?
During President Barack Hussein’s first year in office he was all consumed with passing Obamacare, the over-reaching and unpopular government take over of health care. Against the will of the People, Obama and Democrats passed Obamacare along party lines, back room non-transparent deals and political kickback. During his first year Obama also passed the Democrat partisan $787 billion stimulus plan where he claimed it would create millions of jobs and keep unemployment below 8%.
During Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address he claimed that jobs would be his number one priority in his second year. Really? With sluggish job numbers in May and June 2010, it would appear that Obama is more focused on politicizing illegal immigration and suing Arizona over their new immigration law. Obama appears to be more focused on exploiting the “Cap & Trade” bill in wake of the BP oil spill as opposed to providing leadership of the recovery and clean up following the oil spill. When it comes to jobs, Obama is more focused on his liberal agenda of enacting a deep water drilling moratorium and thus killing more jobs even though he continues to lose in the courts.
That is why jobs must be our No. 1 focus in 2010, and that’s why I’m calling for a new jobs bill tonight.
And we’re on track to add another 1.5 million jobs to this total by the end of the year.
Barack Obama has been a dismal failure when it comes to the United States economy. In a recent Rasmussen poll, 50% of American voters view Obama’s handling of the economy as poor. Obama’s plans have not created jobs in any substantial way and our budgets and deficits are at record levels. Obama’s has mortgaged our children and grand children’s futures on a jobs bill that has created no jobs. Many believe Obama’s stimulus plan has in fact hurt and not helped the economy.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 50% of voters now view President Obama’s handling of the economy as poor. This is the president’s highest negative rating in this area since he took office in January 2009.
Thirty-six percent (36%) give Obama good or excellent marks for his handling of economic issues.
Just after his inauguration but before he had actually initiated any policies, 52% rated the president’s handling of economic matters as good or excellent, while only 25% viewed his performance in this area as poor.
Confidence in the president’s handling of the economy began to drop in late June 2009 following a disappointing report on job creation. At that time, the Administration had passed the $787-billion economic stimulus plan and taken over General Motors and Chrysler. Additionally, debate had just begun on health care reform.
Barack Obama, … IT’S ABOUT THE JOBS STUPID!
No one thinks that you are handling it well. When you lose the perception as to whether you are handling the economy in any competent manner, 50% to 36%, you have a problem. More importantly, so do Democrats racing reelection in 2010. The 2010 Midterm election sets up to be a referendum on Barack Obama and his “Hopey, Changey” rhetoric that he promised during the 2008 election. However, the DOOM does not end with jobs and the economy for Democrats in the up coming Midterm elections. As stated at Real Clear Politics, “Democratic Polling firm Democracy Corps (D) has a new survey out that should send chills up the spines of Democrats.”
•62% believe the country is on the wrong track, and its rising. This is similar to 2006.
•Republicans have a higher “thermometer” rating than Democrats.
•Republicans lead by 6 in the generic ballot, 48%-42%.
•On the issues, Democrats lead on the environment and (barely) raising middle class living standards.
•President Obama’s approval is under water, 45%-51%.
•The health care bill still appears to be a net drag.
•The President’s personal attribute ratings (strong leader, etc.) have all slid.
•55% think the label “socialist” describes the President well.
•A plurality believe he’s done nothing to help end the economic crisis.
•A narrow majority believes that the best way to improve the economy is to cut taxes, rather than spend.
Couple this nightmare poll with the recent Gallup poll where only 38% of Independents think that Obama is doing a good job as President. Also, Obama’s so-called signature policies, health care and “comprehensive immigration” aka Amnesty are widely unpopular with WE THE PEOPLE.
President Barack Hussein Obama can campaign all he wants with his stump speech about Republican driving the car into the ditch, the American people expected this President to fix the problem, not continually blame others for his failures. Obama has handled the economy like he has handled the BP oil spill … WITHOUT LEADERSHIP AND SUCCESS.
