Honestly? Same as when I worked for the police department AND my current job as a Senior Support Technician for this IT company. We support mainly insurance companies, but also perform bank transfers, etc and we had to submit to a background check for all that. One guy at my work got fired because his girlfriend pressed charges against him for using her credit card. No kidding. We don’t get drug tested…but if we have any financial judgement come against us and they find out, we are fired/gone/caput.

OH…and if you have a DUI at my company that doesn’t matter either. Odd, huh? So, you can be drugged out without a license so long as your credit and ciminal history doesn’t include money issues. You’d think it should be the other way around!!!

Yea..but Tim Geithner remains the head even though he had bad financial issues with IRS. Why wasn’t Tim G fired or not hired?

The position I hold does require an employee to have a secret clearance, but I don’t work for DFAS dealing directly with funds. I can see why it could happen, but don’t necessarily belief firing folks is the best route take.
