Obama In Wonderland: Obama Pens Letter to G20 Nations to Increase Government Spending, Then Says He’s Serious About Reducing Deficit

Welcome to Obama in Wonderland …

President Barack Hussein Obama was on record that he wanted the G20 nations to increase government spending in order to grow the world economy. The European leaders led by Merkel had other ideas. Thank you Barack Obama, you just made the US irrelevant on the world state thanks to your socialist progressive agenda.

But European leaders, led largely by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, have pushed back on increased spending as deficits rage out of control.

Those European leaders appeared to win out over the weekend at the G-20 summit in Toronto as the world’s leaders agreed to cut deficits in half by 2013.

The G20 nations, namely European socialist countries, SAID NO!

Today’s G-20 meeting has been advertised as a showdown between the U.S. and Europe over more spending “stimulus,” and so it is. But the larger story is the end of the neo-Keynesian economic moment, and perhaps the start of a healthier policy turn.

For going on three years, the developed world’s economic policy has been dominated by the revival of the old idea that vast amounts of public spending could prevent deflation, cure a recession, and ignite a new era of government-led prosperity. It hasn’t turned out that way.

So after Obama and his economic policies were rebuked, Obama then sayshe is serious about reducing deficits. Please. This from the President that has done nothing but put the US into record deficits and tripled them in his first term in office. Now he is promising to cut the deficit in half by 2013. This from the man who promised how many jobs would be created, Obamacare would lower health care costs and reduce the deficit and a $787 billion stimulus package would keep unemployment under 8%.

I believe Obama’s nose actually grew when he said that he would cut deficits in half by 2013. Thankfully, Obama will not be around in 2013, God willing.

West Virgina Senator Robert Byrd Has Passed Away at the Age of 92

Robert Byrd (D-WV), the longest longest serving member of Congress in history, has passed away at the age of 92 at 3 a.m. Monday at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA. Most remarkable, Robert Byrd never lost an election and served 51 years in the US Senate. It was just yesterday that we learned that Byrd’s condition had taken a turn for the worse and that he was in serious condition.

Robert Byrd: 1917 – 2010, Rest in Peace

Starting in 1958, Mr. Byrd was elected to the Senate an unprecedented nine times. He wrote a four-volume history of the body, was majority leader twice and chaired the powerful Appropriations Committee, controlling the nation’s purse strings, and yet the positions of influence he held did not convey the astonishing arc of his life.

A child of the West Virginia coal fields, Mr. Byrd rose from the grinding poverty that has plagued his state since before the Great Depression, overcame an early and ugly association with the Ku Klux Klan, worked his way through night school and by force of will, determination and iron discipline made himself a person of authority and influence in Washington.

This is hardly the time or place for a political commentary on Robert Byrd, that will be done in a later post. Today, we say goodbye to a US Senator that certainly did bring home the bacon to the Mountaineer state … Robert Byrd, dead at the age of 92. Rest in Peace.

92 Year Old Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) Seriously ill in DC Hospital

According to The Hill, 92 year old West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd has been admitted to a Washington-area hospital and is in “seriously ill” condition. The official statement regarding Byrd’s health is as follows:

9 term SU Senator, Robert Byrd (D-WV)

The statement said that Byrd, 92, “was admitted to the hospital late last week suffering from what was believed to be heat exhaustion and severe dehydration as a result of the extreme temperatures.” The region has experienced a stretch of temperatures in the 90s with high humidity.

Byrd’s office said he was not expected to remain in the hospital more than a few days, but “other conditions have developed which has resulted in his condition being described as ‘serious.’”

Although I rarely agree with Senator Byrd and am a proponent of term limits so that DC does not become what it has and a bastion of career politicians, we wish Robert Byrd our prayers for a speedy recovery.

Barack Obama’s Former Spiritual Advisory of 20 Years Reverend Wright Still Bashing Whitey & Jews

Reverend Wright is back at it again bashing “Whitey” and “Jews.”

So America, now that you have been witness to Barack Hussein Obama as President for 1-1/2 years, do you now really believe that Obama was never present in the pews of the Trinity United Church of Chicago when Reverend Jeremiah Wright spewed is divisive, racists messages of hate? The following is just a sampling of the most recent Rev. Wright hate.

“You are not now, nor have you ever been, nor will you ever be a brother to white folk,” he said. “And if you do not realize that, you are in serious trouble.”

He cited the writings of Bill Jones — author of the book “Is God a White Racist?” – as proof that white people cannot be trusted. “Bill said, ‘They just killed four of their own at Kent State. They’ll step on you like a cockroach and keep on movin’, cause you not a brother to them.’ ”

More Reverend Wright hate …

He’s baaack … and according to President Barack Obama’s former spiritual advisor for 20 years “white people done took this country.”

He’s been keeping such a low profile since nearly derailing Barack Obama’s campaign for president in 2008 — is it possible that the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright has mellowed?

2010 Nevada Governor Race: Appears Democrat Rory _ _ _ _ ‘s Plan of No Last Name of Reid not Working as He Trails GOP Brian Sandoval 55% to 33%

What’s in a name? In Nevada it appears to be a lot, especially if your last name is ”Reid”.

It would appear that Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, plan to not use his last name as a way to distance himself from his embattled and unfavorable dad is not working. The most recent Rasmussen poll has Republican Brian Sandoval ahead by 22% points, 55% to 33%, over Democrat Rory Reid. OUCH!

Republican Brian Sandoval continues to hold a lead of more than 20 points over Democrat Rory Reid in Nevada’s race for governor.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state shows Sandoval with 55% support, while Reid earns 33% of the vote. Eight percent (8%) favor some other candidate in the race, and four percent (4%) are undecided.

While Sandoval has been a popular candidate from the start, Reid is apparently worried that his campaign is being hurt by association with his father, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Fox News is reporting that the younger Reid is not using his last name in the first TV ad of his general election campaign and on his campaign website.

Rory Reid can scrub his last name from his political ads and web site all he wants to try and distance himself from his father, it will make no difference. Rory’s only chance of winning the 2010 Nevada governors race is to chance his name to Brian Sandoval. Unfortunately for Rory, Harry and the Democrats … there already is a Brian Sandoval and he has a 20%+ lead.

RCP has Sandoval ahead of Rory Reid by 15.3%.
