Who Is Misguided? Obama AG Eric Holder Admits He Never Read AZ Anti- Illegal Immigration Law … But Has No Problem Criticizing It

WELCOME TO OBAMALAND …

We will once again ask the question … WHO IS MISGUIDED?

President Barack Hussein Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder,  admitted during a hearing with the House Judiciary Committee that he has not read the new Arizona anti-illegal immigration bill. However, Holder has no issue criticizing the bill and has repeatedly spoken out against it in repeatedly. Holder does not get the cover that Democrats used with Obamacare citing that the bill was nearly 3000 pages. Arizona’s new immigration law is only 10 pages.

VIDEO Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit

One has to wonder whether Obama has read the Arizona law either or any of his other attack minions that he sets out to make claims that the law is racist and would lead to racial profiling. Holder could not find the time to read 10 pages yet he found the time to show up on media outlet after media outlet to criticize and make allegations.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., who has been critical of Arizona’s new immigration law, said Thursday he hasn’t yet read the law and is going by what he’s read in newspapers or seen on television.

Mr. Holder is conducting a review of the law, at President Obama’s request, to see if the federal government should challenge it in court. He said he expects he will read the law by the time his staff briefs him on their conclusions.

“I’ve just expressed concerns on the basis of what I’ve heard about the law. But I’m not in a position to say at this point, not having read the law, not having had the chance to interact with people are doing the review, exactly what my position is,” Mr. Holder told the House Judiciary Committee.

How intellectually dishonest can this Administration get? Of course Holder did not read the bill, if pressed for details he could claim plausible deniability. Seriously, how could one have an opinion if they have zero first hand knowledge of what they are commenting on? It would appear that Hot Air has the same theory as to Obama’s minions not reading the bill … so that they can “have an excuse to walk back their criticisms later if this gets too hot politically?”

Rep. Ted Poe, who had questioned Mr. Holder about the law, wondered how he could have those opinions if he hadn’t yet read the legislation.

“It’s hard for me to understand how you would have concerns about something being unconstitutional if you haven’t even read the law,” the Texas Republican told the attorney general.

NewsBusters has a partial transcript.

How does the Attorney General of the United States not read the most talked about hot button topic like the new AZ Immigration law, yet make negative comments and race bait the topic? It has become all too common with the Obama Administration.

The City Council voted 13-1 to bar Los Angeles from conducting business with Arizona unless the law is repealed. However, many disagree with the decision altogether.

Michelle Malkin states, While jihadists plot, our Justice Department panders. But pandering to who? All polls show that a majority of Americans are in favor of the new law and that individuals should have to prove that they are here legally.

It does a heart good to know somebody in Washington, the House Judiciary Committee, is watching our back.

Holder is too busy looking for a way to destroy the Tea Party.

Those of you who believe the AZ Immigration Bill should consider one aspect which is the key element of criticism … the decision to ask a person for proof of legal residency is discriminatory in two ways …

      1. It is totally up to the discretion of the police officer to request this proof. The obvious target population are ethnic Hispanics. Of course we all know that Hispanics are the main element of illegal immigration, but leaving this up the discretion of the police is racial profiling … regardless of the wording in the bill.

      2. If a person is asked for proof of legal residency (i.e., green card), and that person happens to be a citizen of this country, then there is no legal requirement to carry said proof. Only legal residents who are non-citizens are required by federal law to carry this proof. For citizens of this country, if asked for proof, they would have show their naturalization papers, passport, or birth certificate. In this scenario, failing to be able show proof of legal residency (about 99% of American citizens would fall into this category) … they would then possibly be detained until they could show proof.

So… how to make the bill fair … remove the discretionary clause about police discretion and force all citizens and residents to carry with them at all times proof of their legal right to be in the U.S. This would, of course, mean that all people in AZ would have to carry their birth certificate, U.S. passport, U.S. Naturalization papers (if that were the case) or their green card if there were not a citizen. And, any penalty for NOT being able to show proof should apply to anyone … Hispanic, white with blond hair, black, … any one. Do it like that and then the law is fair.

    8. brie. on May 14th, 2010 11:58 am

He is a disgusting president and cares nothing about this country, a radical communist…!!!!

Steve B, #6, Obviously you have not read the bill either the police are specifically told they cannot make a check that is in violation of a persons rights i.e. based on nationality, race, etc. In addition the law states there must be a probable cause for any stop.

    10. Michelle on May 14th, 2010 6:15 pm

Something else to consider #6. When a police officer pulls you over what does he/she ask you for? Drivers License & Registration….It’s standard procedure to ask for these things and is not considered racial profiling.

If a person is in this Country legally then they will have a valid social security card, driver’s license & insurance. You cannot obtain these items without providing a birth certificate. It’s ridiculous to make the claim that everyone will have to care a passport or birth certificate on their person to prove citizenship.

The law states that if an officer has PROBABLE cause to suspect a person might be here illegally they can then ask them to provide adequate proof of citizenship.

It just kills me at all the people who want to criticize the law when they haven’t even read it.

If a person has committed a crime or is acting suspicious then l.e. has a right to ask them for their papers.

He don’t need to read no stinking laws, he has an agenda
on his mind. The new ‘ruling class’ hopes to gain support
for it’s initial boot-on-the-throat of the population via
votes stemming from illegal invasion. Down the road, voting
may become a thing of the past.

    12. brie. on May 14th, 2010 7:50 pm

Obama supports any kind of crime…including himself…just totally sick of him, his thinking, his actions, his behavior, his arrogance, his decisions, his mouth, even the cartoon character Goofy looks better…!!! Who in their right mind would vote for someone for President that cannot respect our flag and salute it and trash our country….why is he still in the White House….belongs in Kenya!!!!

    13. A Texas Grandfather on May 14th, 2010 10:23 pm

Who are the majority of illegals in our country? It is simple, they are hispanics. We have as many as 25 million, my figure not the government figures, of these people in our country.
This teacher in California who advocates taking back the Southwestern United states is not advancing a new idea among these people. It has existed since the 1970′s. They really believe that this territory was stolen and really belongs to them.
Holder needs to be removed as Attorney General as soon as possible. His real title aught to be Propaganda General.
