Senate Democrats Break Filibuster of Health Care with 1AM Vote; Partisan 60-40 Vote

Senate Democrats did this against the will of the People! We the People oppose it.

The Health care train wreck continues down the path with Americans as victims in it’s wake. Democrats, along partisan party lines, voted 60-40 last night at 1 AM in the morning to stop the debate and move Obamacare forward.

So what’s the hurry Democrats? Afraid the People may find out what is in the bill? What a sad day in American political history when a bill with such changing affects on the American health care system is not allowed to be debated or read for fear of the backlash from critics as they might become informed. The Senate and the White House did not want Senators to go home over the Christmas break and be confronted by their constituents.

So much for the transparency that Obama promised.

As Flopping Aces appropriately puts it … -They now “own” this trainwreck and it will cost them BIG!

We are only now learning the price Democrats paid for those votes. $100 million for a hospital in Sen. Chris Dodd’s state of Connecticut, $500 million for Medicaid for Massachusetts and $100 million for Medicaid in Nebraska to win Ben Nelson’s vote and $600 million for Medicaid in Vermont. That’s on top of Sen. Mary Landrieu’s $300 million for Louisiana. Those of us not living in the above states will have the pleasure of supporting this corruption by paying for it with our tax dollars.

Republican Leader McConnell Releases Statement on Historic Mistake:

“But make no mistake: if the people who wrote this bill were proud of it, they wouldn’t be forcing this vote in the dead of night

“Here are just some of the deals we’ve noticed:

“$100 million for an unnamed health care facility at an unnamed university somewhere in the United States — the bill doesn’t say where — and no one will even step forward to claim it.

“ One state out of 50 gets to expand Medicaid at no cost to itself — while taxpayers in the other 49 states pick up the tab. (snipped)

Republican Boehner Releases Statement on Reid’s Government Takeover of Health Care

“The American people have rejected the Democrats’ government-run approach to health care loudly and clearly, and it’s time to scrap Senator Reid’s bill and start over. The bill will fundamentally change something as personal and important as the relationship between a patient and a doctor, and yet Democrats are attempting to sneak the bill through before Christmas in the hopes the American people aren’t watching what they’re doing. Why? Because Senator Reid knows the more the American people find out about this bill, the more they oppose it. (snipped)

Political suicide. Senate kamikaze pilots. Drain this swamp called DC. I am looking forward to Nov. 2010. Will be politically active for the first time in my life working to unseat every stinking one of them.

So Whats to Debate. How much will this cost the USA deficit in 5 years….? Yikes! Cripes! It only will bankrupt our country more.

My other gripe would be the privacy between me and a doctor of choice would be breached. I do not want Uncle Sam telling me which clinic to go to and which pill to swallow next thing we know.

    4. Michelle Smith on December 21st, 2009 12:52 pm

thuggery, bribery, lying, thievery…where does it all end? What have we become? a third world country…this is unconstitutional. Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned that we would ever live in a Government Controlled Nation.

      Makes me physically ill.

It will take many years to straighten out the mess that the democrats have caused and this is only in their first year. This can not be blamed on George Bush. This is all Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the imbeciles in Congress.

AMERICA! Wake up and vote these clowns out of office before we don’t have a Country left to save.

    5. Just Bearly on December 21st, 2009 12:55 pm

If you think the insurance companies have a lot of red tape now… how much wasted money will go to every government case worker to monitor every low income health care recipient to report back to the higher up powers that be… and have nothing medical relevant even get done?

What about law suits arising from improper care, fraud, or mishandled claims if the government denies a claim that could save a life for instance… (just some thoughts).

This Bill is suspicious too as mostly a way to generate tax revenue, but not much else in health care will see a revolutionary makeover for a long time.

Does anyone believe.. that anything the govt. gets involved in is going to come out cheaper for us? Everytime people get a 5 dollar raise, they pass, 10 more laws to make it legal to come up with a way to get it.. So tired these bloated, overpaid, do nothings. There isn’t a person around who has read this bill probably. Chris Dodd, the joke.. writing a health care bill.. Looking for another sweetheart deal no doubt. No one wonder people are hurting.. We are paying for all those jets, luxury hotels, steak dinners, trips all over, parties for the millionaires..while they try to tell us how to live.. Thought we did away with royalty years ago.

“$100 million for an unnamed health care facility at an unnamed university somewhere in the United States — the bill doesn’t say where — and no one will even step forward to claim it.

WASHINGTON — A $100 million item for construction of a university hospital was inserted in the Senate health care bill at the request of Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., who faces a difficult re-election campaign, his office said Sunday night.

The legislation leaves it up to the Health and Human Services Department to decide where the money should be spent, although spokesman Bryan DeAngelis said Dodd hopes to claim it for the University of Connecticut.

One state out of 50 gets to expand Medicaid at no cost to itself — while taxpayers in the other 49 states pick up the tab

      That would this:
It was the concern of Nebraska’s Republican governor over expanded Medicaid costs in the proposed Senate health care overhaul bill that led to a compromise to cover his state’s estimated $45 million share over a decade, U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson said Sunday.

Michelle: Obama has a red pill or a blue pill – you should check with him as to which one to take for your illness.

Maggie: Sure it can be cheaper. Look how much the government has already saved by turning off life saving mammograms for women age 40 to 50. My lump was found at age 45. My sister’s life was saved at age 48. Oh well, that’s history.

    8. tuyvnsurvivor on December 21st, 2009 9:51 pm

My demotoligist is from Syria and a Muslum, voted for Obama and is a very nice guy. A super doctor. He as well has become most disinfranchised with Obama and the sociolist congress.

I have had 5 skin cancers, 3 of which worked on by him. One working right now and have to have part or all of my nose removed and then begin restucturing right after Christmas. I have a great chance of full recovery. Though my point is: my Doctor told me “if you had to wait 3 months for treatment, like the health care will insist, it would be a death sentence. Then there could be charges of murder on ones who have by wrong doing forced this bill.”

On another front, I feel this bill removes the ‘if’ we go into a depression, and make it a sure thing.

Only a very very few people have enough contact with the public who could call for serious enough peaceful disobedience and civil action to create delay in this bills actions. My first pick for the heroic and history making stance would be Sarah Palin. If she does not do something like this, then she is a professional politician. It is time for an important to the country person.

#2 – Really? And that was moderated and let thru? Wow.

      Your blatant racism is sickening.

Other than newgirl, your racism goes unchecked with the republican/”I hate the President” crowd…which is telling in of itself.

Just read #2 and wonder why folks have a hard time believing the “I swear it’s his policies not his skin color” line.
SM: Think you need to understand what is racism and what is being done for affect.

It is idiots like you who cry racism at every turn who actually harm real racism.

Newsflash, white America is what voted Barack Hussein Obama into office as he lied thru his teath.

As for the color of his skin, I would dare say there were more who voted for Obama because of the color of his skin as opposed to not. After all he was elected. However, that mistake will be remedied on 2012.

How sad you liberals got NUTHIN! All you got is the race card in the end. It is old and tired. The fact of the matter is Obama is an abject failure. A worse President than even Jimmy carter.

How often did you write “Barack _Hussein_ Obama” here?

What are you joking? That is his friggin name. That is what he calls himself. Of course no one could use the middle name “HUSSEIN” during the campaign or you were called a hate monger and racists. It is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA who started calling himself that.

To my liberal friends out their, put the Kool-Aid down, get informed and get a clue.

Unless you know the history of Yoyo at SM, using the term idiot is done with compassion.

Using the race card when there is none is the mark of a useless IDIOT, sorry if that offends you and the truth hurts.

Get back to the point of the post.

Dems will pay a dear price for their treachery.

    15. Dolf on December 22nd, 2009 8:15 am

damn those democrats with their foul attempt to get everybody healthcare!!
SM: Please, all you need to do is look how the bill was passed and know that it has nothing to do with health care reform. It’s political pay offs to save face and pass something.

Dolf, seriously in all honesty. I would expect that if you and I were working togather to get real health care reform to help people that if we had $1 trillion to spend, 20 million people would still not be uninsured. Thus, this so-called health care partisan reform bill still does not cover everyone.

So you piss off the people who actually have and like their health care and still don’t cover millions?

      What say you sir?

    16. super dave on December 22nd, 2009 9:07 am

the dumbocrats still don’t get it. i am not paying a fine, i’m not going to jail. i don’t want to pay for other people’s healthcare because they don’t or won’t get their asses out and earn their own living. this is obama dictatorship and the ones crying racism are just angry that someone that earns a living and works hard and pays their own way are not responsible for those who want a free ride. yoyo, this means you .

    17. super dave on December 22nd, 2009 9:41 am

having to bribe your own party to pass a bill that they know will bankrupt the country at 1: am in the morning ? i see a lot of distrust in the dictator democrat party.
and crying racism when they need to search the souls of their own.

    18. Michelle Smith on December 22nd, 2009 10:00 am

Get a friggin clue. Everybody will not get healthcare. Get informed before you start spouting off at the mouth.

    19. Michelle Smith on December 22nd, 2009 10:05 am

Once again YoYo shows his true colors. He rears his ugly head to cry racism at any opportunity. I swear that is used up & worn out. Get it through your thick skull that this has nothing to do with the color of the man’s skin. He is a complete failure. The worst President evah and only a year into his term. Pathetic! That’s the best you can do? Cry racism when your boy looks like a fool every time he opens his mouth.

I know your mission in life is to come on this board and spew your hatred and try to ruffle feathers. You are just another useless liberal p.o.s. A burden on our economy & on society.

    20. Rusty Bridges on December 22nd, 2009 10:05 am

#11, huh.. the people. Or it used to be, now it’s the sheeple.

Does anybody really think that anything will change 2012? The Dems aren’t that dumb I’m sure they have a trick up their sleeve. This healthcare bill won’t even go into effect until after ’12. They will be handing out stimulas money for votes and their following will be none the wiser.

So go ahead sheeple, take from the trough and get that student loan so you can get that entry level position and buy your starter home on a loan you can bearly afford. That’s okay because there will be plenty of loans for a car and a couple of toys and credit will be ready for you to buy clothes and food and the gov’t will provide just enough healthcare to keep you alive during your productive years and you won’t have to shell out a penny because it will already have been taken from your paycheck.

So enjoy your life and don’t worry about saving for retirement. No really don’t worry, it’s all taken care of for you.

    21. tuyvnsurvivor on December 22nd, 2009 10:13 am

#15, everyone has health care, so that cannot be the point of such overwhelming MORE government. In our area, if you go to the emergency room you see the “everyone’s” in front of you. Often what money they did not spend on meth, crack, and quarts of beer, they use for gas money in their uninsured vehicle to come use the emergency room for their family practitioner.

I do not hear enough talking heads on TV discussing any reasonable abilty to undo this damage after the 2010 elections. By that time it would appear this mess will be entrenched, as well no congress types are in the habit of giving up control. Control of anything. Besides, can the republicans themselves get to the 60 mark…albeit to late.

Also, I hear so little from sound advisors of real possibilties of law suits, constitutional challenges, and legal binding wrong doing charges. Which might delay implimentation of this congressional treason on America, until a new congress is fielded.

In general, mostly it seems the public accepts this sex we got, and just waits for the next election. Seems unacceptable. Opting for the second line of the sorenity prayer: “courage to change the things I can”.

    22. St Stephen on December 22nd, 2009 12:51 pm

The insurance companies are making hay with a “mandate without choice”, rest assured.

The Republicans actually wanted real healthcare reform, but you would never know it the way the msm spins it. And one can’t be excluded for pre-existing conditions? I would say don’t make me laugh but I already am.

These companies will have the right to subject at-risk people to higher premiums that many will simply not be able to afford. This is a bonanza for insurance companies and their billions they have put in lobbying efforts( yeah, the lobbyists that Obama said were going away once he got elected) will see those investments bear fruit almost immediately.

      a mandate without choice
      no anti-trust
kick up premiums for at risk(pre-existing conditions)customers

…and if you don’t get their insurance a fine, jail and a criminal record is yours.

      #9 & #12 -

first things first, I know yoyomuff is programmed to read only those words that her doctrine allows her to scan through, but calling NGB out of her name(racist) sounds like a desperate cry of a hysterical fool that knows real change is coming in the 2010 and 2012 elections.

As for the race card, please do not hesitate to use that gibberish now. Your incoherent babbling will do little(actually nothing) to disuede the voters from electing someone with common sense and a true concern for the welfare of the American citizen first and foremost. President Obama can “bow” out and let the country get back on its feet.

Hmmm, I see another democrat has changed parties.

#9 – Oh my lord, where does one start “R”. Let’s see…#2′s post was “affect”? Let me guess, you use that same “affect” in everyday life, don’t you? Haha. Btw “R” – next time you call someone an “idiot”, you might want to check your spelling (it’s “teeth”, not “teath”). Classic.

#22 – It’s not a shock that you see no racism in #2′s post. Normal people do – partisan right wing whack jobs do not. You might want to go to the doc to get checked out though – your reading comprehension skills are deteriorating.

    26. yoyo muffintop on December 23rd, 2009 12:10 pm

Btw – I only play the race card when it is apparent….and apparently white extreme right wing idealogues believe racism doesn’t exist even when hits them straight on. Or they are racist themselves. Sad either way.

      #25 & #26 -

What a screaming Mimi you are!!!

Now you done went and made me laugh again with you talking about “normal” people knowing what racism is, like you’re normal. You really need to know about racism? Just take a long, hard look in the mirror.

But your doctrine more than likely already tells you that you are racist, and your sniveling ultra-liberal philosophy undoubtedly tells you to flaggelate yourself to cleanse that sin from your mind(;-). OK by me, have fun with your misery. As I previously told others on this board I don’t give a fiddler’s folly what they, you included, THINK I am.

As for me, myself and I, I know I ain’t racist and I have a good time, have fun informing people of the destructiveness of certain bills(healthcare, man-made climate fraud, immigration “reform” et al) and sleep like a newborn babe comfortable with that knowledge.

As for you and other social misfits and malcontents, have a great day weeping and gnashing your teeth in anticipation of 2010 & 2012.

Get ready for CHANGE WE ALL CAN BELIEVE IN!

Project your racist guilt on someone else #27.

Again, I would expect someone, such as yourself, that walks around calling mentally disabled folks “retarded” and “deaf and dumb” to not understand racism when it hits you in the face.

      St Stephen on 7/26:
“I happen to use the term retarded all the time.”
“No, “retard” is a perfectly fine term to me.”
“We also used the term “deaf and dumb””

Frankly, I am sick of your crap. So either stick to the topic of the post or leave. Any further comments you make of racism will be simply deleted TROLL!

Enough of your weeping and gnashing of teeth, yoyo.

the plain and simple fact is that the 60-40 vote is NOT representative of the American public, and will be proven come 2010 AND 2012.

Wattsa matta u, yoyo? taking snippets of my previous post to demonstrate what a bad guy I am? You go right ahead, cause that’s all you got.

There is nothing you have to justify the fleecing of the American public with that faux healthcare bill so it’s all race cards and smoke and mirrors with you.

You just made me laugh again with your histrionics.
