Barack Obama was for Military Tribunals, before he was against them. So what changed from 2006? Will Americans question Obama and his Administration why he has done a reversal of fortunes on this issue?
Does this look like a common crime committed by common criminals?
Remember when Senator Barack Hussein Obama said that KSM would get a full military trail with all the bells and whistles on 9/27/06?
“Ironically those are the guys who are going to get real military procedures because they are going to be charged by the government.”
It was the debate for Military Commissions Act of 2006 to authorize trials by military commissions for violations of the law of war and act of war against the United States. The underlying bill that Obama refers to below was HR-6166 and passed and signed into law on 10/17/06.
You will hear opponents of this amendment say that it will give all kind of rights to terrorist, masterminds like Khalid Sheik Mohammed. I want to repeat that is not true. The irony of the underlying bill as it is written, is that someone like KSM is going to get a full military trial with all the bells and whistles.
Because the feeling is, he is guilty of a war crime and to do otherwise might violate the Geneva Convention.
Atlas Shrugs provides some compelling visuals as to why to treat these terrorist not as common criminals, but was terrorist crimes against America.
Friends who are surviving 911 family members and firefighters, including Debra Burlingame and Tim Brown, have started a campaign to pressure the Obama administration to back out of bringing the terrorists to NY for trial.
It has only been a couple of days and already they have over 80,000 signatures on a letter to Obama. You can find the letter at http://www.thebravest.com.

This is the Obama Administration’s way of bringing to light the so-called “torture” of terrorists and the Bush administration’s handling of them. End of Story. This is to appease the left without actually opening up a full and broad investigation. This is basically Obama’s sneaky way of FLIP-FLOPPING.
These people were ready to plead guilty at these military tribunals and now it’s back to step one…someone should ask the question why?
