RUT-ROH … CNN Does the Obama – Jimmy Carter “Malaise” Comparison … He Will Soon Have the Double Digit Unemployment

Let’s see, Obama is inexperienced, high unemployment, record deficits, cannot make a decision, week on foreign policy, leans toward socialism and apologizes for America. Yup, that would be the Carter Administration.

CNN states, “Is it morning in America, or has hope given way to malaise?” My how the mighty Obama star has fallen. First Obama had comparisons made of him to Richard Nixon and the enemies list with Obama’s ridiculous war against FOX News and the smack down that the White House received from the WH media press pool. Now comparisons of the Obamamessiah to Jimmy Carter and malaise. What’s next, will CNN dare compare Obama to GWB?

Nearly a year after the presidential election, the excitement of Barack Obama’s campaign has faded into the reality of an Obama White House.

As observers try to determine what time it is in American politics, they arrive at opposite conclusions.

To some, said Tulane University political scientist Thomas Langston, Obama is like Jimmy Carter, and the nation will soon hammer the nails into the coffin of a dying Democratic coalition just as voters, tired of the Carter “malaise” era, handed the White House to Republicans in 1980.

Barack Obama … the new Jimmy Carter? The comparisons are certainly there. What is perceived as a nice person, but an inexperienced and ineffectual President. Both of which were overwhelmed by the job and were disastrous for American both home and abroad.

Shortly after taking office, Carter’s approval rating peaked at 75 percent but dropped to the low 40s in a little more than a year. He entered office weighed down by a sagging economy, and eventually, the energy crisis, the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan and the Iranian hostage crisis took a toll on his administration.

“Carter is held up as the model of the ineffectual president — a saint of a man but an ineffectual president. And so when people compare Obama to Carter, that is an attack,” said David Gergen, a senior political analyst for CNN who also worked in the Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton administrations.

For all the claims that Barack Obama is so intelligent, how could The One not learn from Jimmy Carter? Both Carter and Obama were elected in an era of “CHANGE”. Back in 1976 the USA wanted to move beyond Richard Nixon so as a change they elected what was the most 180 degree opposite of Nixon. That unfortunately was also the election of one of the most ineffective leaders of the 20th and 21st century. Flash forward to 2008 and America was once again being promised “CHANGE” in the form of Barack “not Hussein” Obama at the time. America wanted change in the sense of the person, not change in the sense that they wanted to move toward socialism. Sound bites of “Hope & Change” sound great; however, leadership is another story.

In less than one year we have seen what change gets you. A President whose approval rating has sunk because the change that people wanted was a joke. The Change was the election of a black President with no thought of what he actually may stand for or believe. Obama has not offered any change, for the positive. He just happens to be the first black President elected of the United States and acts just like the rest. Maybe worse as he has brought the “Chicago-way” of politics to the White House.

Hope and Change has provided a President who on almost every policy is on the wrong side of the American people.

Quoting your last line: “He just happens to be the first black President elected of the United States and acts just like the rest. Maybe worse as he has brought the “Chicago-way” of politics to the White House.”

      1. He may be the first black President elected of the United States, but he may not be the first American Black President.

      2. He whines because what else does “an organizer do?” Big Chief Gran Caca Rahm is cutting him no slack; I would love to be a fly on the wall in their morning briefings when Rahm issues marching orders to him and the Strategist/Maoist Loving Grandmother et al, Pelosi/Robert Gibbs!

      3. Rahm insists on the “Chicago-way” of politics; wonder what Obama “owes” him; we know Bill Ayers wrote his books; that’s what Michelle wanted! BUT, what does Obama want? Another tropy just for being Obama? He truly belongs in Hollywood! He needs no leadership skills in Hollywood; there he will be flashed a card, “inhale, exhale.” No wonder, he needs the teleprompter. Can’t he come up with his “own thoughts?” Hell, even GB could do that!

      4. What a straw man (Obama). He’s so bummed taking orders from everyone except the American people! So what does he do? Acts out a “chip on the shoulder cavalier, bullish attitude” with Fox News, and the Chamber of Commerce! After all, “The Prompters” must go off in his head carrying around the white man chip on his shoulder! He should play himself on SNL; he’s a joke knowing “who he really is and what he represents; wonder how much more in legal fees he will spend of our tax dollars to hide the real “Obama” – will the first black president of the USA please stand up? lol

NO WONDER he’s terrified of Glenn Beck! BTW, who made the decision not to immunize his own kids? And one more thing, Joe Biden was dead on: “The presidency is not OJT!” Pelosi looks 90 years old lately; bet her rumination is: “what was I thinking?” KWIM? I personally expected change! WTH was I thinking?

The photo desease blend to Obama seems more complicated in that of Obama vs Carter. Obama’s face might wear the lipstick of Pelosi, beaten on the backside by the Clinton’s, obligated to racisum leaders, and strung nose and lips to Soros.

All in that photo wish to lobby to those irresponsible, light working, quiters, unstudied, lazy, those unsuccessful or taught NOT to believe in themselves. Lib leaders lobby this group because chumps are easy and such dominence of the ignorant losers is still yet a power. Power by those of no merit over those in kind.

Some seek advice from good mentors, ‘how’d you do it?’ And observe. Put in the years of slow climb to a life of accomplishment, tripping and stumbling all the way. Where the trial and test is part of the honor. Though that is not for losers, when “No Merit’ leaders can suggest losers are entitled, darn the system, danged the mentors, diss old thinking ways — taking made easy. By crushing what is reliable, questioning the sense in earning, experience and responsibilty…”no merit” — will kill the host, as with any desease.

Way I see it, if 10% are unemployeed, 90% are working, right? Not so bad!

Oh…and that isn’t to support Obamanation, just pointing out they try to make a hell of alot more of a situation than it is and turn it into shear crisis. Kinda like swine flu. I know 5 people now that have had and recovered from it. Simply a bad flu and nothing more according to them.

[...] Carter of the 21st Century’? Will he, it appears he already is. Many in the US have already begun to make the comparison of Obama to Carter’s failed one term presidency. Even those at liberal MSNBC have stated that [...]
