Every White House tries to shape the message that they want to present to the American people; however, is the Barack Obama and his minions taking this to a whole new level and looking to control the media? It would appear from comment and action that might be the case. Is this the reason why the Obama Administration has come out swinging against Fox News? Not because they are not a true media outlet, but because they cannot control them.
President Obama’s presidential campaign focused on “making” the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was “controlled,” White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference.
“Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn’t absolutely control,” said Dunn.
“We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it,” Dunn said.
Continued Dunn: “Whether it was a David Plouffe video or an Obama speech, a huge part of our press strategy was focused on making the media cover what Obama was actually saying as opposed to why the campaign was saying it, what the tactic was. … Making the press cover what we were saying.”
Among other things like needing an enemy to focus on, maybe this is the reason why the Barack Obama White House has such a difficult time with Fox News and feels the need to attack them? And attack some more. They are not falling into lock-step with the rest of the MSM.
As Town Hall states, with all all too in the tank Obama media happy to neglect their job as journalists, the Obama White House’s control is made easy. It is pretty easy to control the media when they are all to ready and willing to follow Obama’s marching orders. The media is supposed to be the People’s opposition and questionng vehicle to prevent a government from spinning out of control. Sadly, today’s MSM only believes in being the opposition to some and Barack Obama knows it.
The White House apparently feels it must marginalize Fox for a reason. And the only reason I can come up with is the White House feels it is hurting it’s agenda. To me the most telling remark about Fox came when Dunn said that when President Obama goes on Fox he believes he’s debating the opposition.
I thought that’s what all real journalists considered themselves – the opposition. Now, apparently, journalistic worth is measured by the White House as how compliant you are and how willing you are to carry water for them.

This has nothing to do with “controlling the news media” – the quote says they control their communications, i.e. what information they release to the media. It’s right there in black and white.
Think about the departure of Glen Beck as a CNN talk show host just a short time prior to election day.

Anita Dunn speaks the truth. The problem is the American people are not comprehending the dangerous ideology that is taking hold within the country that was once perceived as the greatest democracy on the face of the earth. Freedom reigned!!

6, not sure I understand all you are saying, since with our few words we do not first understand our personship.
But, assualt on free speech or our basic not to be changed rights are frightening.
I understand recklesness is assigned anytime one compares one to Hitler. And I am not from Norway nor a historian. Though I find answers in history. Norway had a population I compare to our own. And it was the more civalized, hard working, optimist thinkers (such as conservatives here), who progressively obeyed thier government in retreat. Giving up free speech, allowing treaspass, and stair steping one progression at a time until the Nazi’s came in individual homes to force sharing of blankets, food, and plunder dominance…any flesh was not love. They endoctrinated their way in and passed out mean. I fear that complacentcy here. Enemies do not appear with horns, they look no different than Pelosi; it is the crippling torturous ideas they point and not necessarily the direction of their pointed weapon…progression itself is to be an alarm.
I have been shot several, some very minor, times. Once a 7 day comma. ANd after it I served another 4 months in combat, right back to being a pointman. It hurts. Though I was trying to save free speech for people I only barely spoke their language. I am mighty slow to want us to go to any war after all of that business. When it is about basic undeniable rights, I would move a bit quicker.
Most ALL of us have done more for America than Obama will in his lifetime. If it is I learned anything whatsoever from algebra.
I am terrible to notice Dunn’s manorisum’s and this is not at all my standard way. I have spoken to the public and I shake terribly, no doubt some miss my message as they watch my shakes…the old comma got me on that one for a lifetime. I am a little over weight. ANd ugly hit me with age; should carry an old picture of myself to prove I was once decent looking.

Tap into the non-partisan part of your brain and figure it out. Controlling what you release to the media has nothing to do with trying to control the media. The media is always free to do what it wants to do.

Unfortunately … Yes.
If oppositional media is not tolerated … the children … our future generation … look to the State as all knowing and … out of respect or fear of the consequences they conform accordingly. Something akin to a child/parent relationship.
In a parent/child relationship … for a time a child may look to his/her parents as all knowning. However … the differing opinions that the media outlets provide implie that at some point in time … these children as young adults forward are given the opportunity to question what has been instilled in them by parents as absolutes and … then are in a position to freely choose the path they they have been taught or … embark on another journey.
