Obama Speaks to the School Children, the Problem was not the Message , It was the Messenger … Socialism is not a Recipe for Individual Success
The final word …
The problem was not the Obama message, the problem was Obama as the messenger. I would like to think that any President should be able to talk to American school children to stay in school and take their education seriously. To strive for personal responsibility and become the best that they can be.
That was supposed to be Obama’s message. It’s too bad that Barack Obama does not believe this or his policies show it. Nor does much of Obama’s rhetoric. Since when do socialist policies promote individuals to succeed? The problem is that Obama’s message does not jive with his actions.
BTW, if we really want school kids to get the best education, why are they not offered vouchers?
But at the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world – and none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilities. Unless you show up to those schools; pay attention to those teachers; listen to your parents, grandparents and other adults; and put in the hard work it takes to succeed. (excerpt from speech)
Really Mr. President, you want people to succeed? What if they become rich and successful, won’t they then be demonized as the evil rich that you would look to tax at every turn? If they become wager earners of $250K or more, they suddenly become persona non grata with you. At every turn he looks to tax anyone of wealth so that he can share it with other.
Every single one of you has something you’re good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That’s the opportunity an education can provide. (excerpt from speech)
Barack Obama wants you to become a doctor or police officer with your talents. Really? You mean Obama wants you to strive to be a doctor so he can accuse you of putting profits over patient care? Then he will socialize medicine so you make no income. Or you could become a police officer so when you arrest anyone of color Obama can say that you acted “stupidly”. Or maybe you can work for an insurance carrier where you can be demonized by Obama as being greedy and evil.
And no matter what you want to do with your life – I guarantee that you’ll need an education to do it. You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a lawyer or a member of our military? You’re going to need a good education for every single one of those careers. You can’t drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You’ve got to work for it and train for it and learn for it. (excerpt from speech)
If you become a police officer I can insult you, cause a national fire storm and then invites you to the White House for a Beer Summit
Or maybe you will grow up and decide to become active in your community and stand up for the US Constitution and protest against Obamacare and the government takeover of health care in the United States. Maybe you will stand up to your President and the Democratic party with your First Amendment rights and voice the opinions of “We the People” because it is the right thing to do. For that this President’s party and their MSM minions will call you racists, brown shirts, Nazis, crazies, evil mongers,
That’s why today, I’m calling on each of you to set your own goals for your education – and to do everything you can to meet them. Your goal can be something as simple as doing all your homework, paying attention in class, or spending time each day reading a book. Maybe you’ll decide to get involved in an extracurricular activity, or volunteer in your community. Maybe you’ll decide to stand up for kids who are being teased or bullied because of who they are or how they look, because you believe, like I do, that all kids deserve a safe environment to study and learn. (excerpt from speech)
The Barack Obama speech to America’s children today was less an issue regarding the message than it was about the messenger, that is for certain. We knew the speech would be benign; however, it was made even more so due to the wild fire of controversy. To be honest, most of Obama’s 18 minute speech probably did bore the children as much of it was over the head of many of the ages that were supposed to listen to it.
The Left is outraged by parents acting like parents and not wanting their children exposed to some one they do not trust? One would say, isn’t that what a parent does? However, the Left seems to forget that when a Republican President, George H.W. Bush made a similar speech in 1991, it was Democrat politicians, not parents that went postal asking for hearings. As Weasel Zippers has stated, we must have missed the part where Republicans demanded hearings for Obama talking to the children. This was a parent thing and they have every right to do as they see fit when it comes to “their”, not Obama’s children.
But when President George H.W. Bush delivered a similar speech on October 1, 1991, from Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington DC, the controversy was just beginning. Democrats, then the majority party in Congress, not only denounced Bush’s speech — they also ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate its production and later summoned top Bush administration officials to Capitol Hill for an extensive hearing on the issue.
Barack Obama also went on to say that it is also important to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, as Obama admitted he does daily. So find an adult you trust, like an unvetted czar who will tell you exactly what you want to hear as that is why you hired them. Then when the heat gets too high and the public finds out the truth that there is a “Communist in the hen house” have them resign under the cloak of darkness during a three day holiday weekend.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. I do that every day. Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don’t know something, and to learn something new. So find an adult you trust – a parent, grandparent or teacher; a coach or counselor – and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals.
So Barack Obama told children to stay in school, be responsible, do your homework and become the best person that they can be. All this while Obama has continuously attacked capitalism and those that have taken risks and succeeded. The EVIL rich are to blame for much of the ills of America according to this President. Obama believes in big government control. How does that promote individual success?
A message to stay in school is a great one; however, it would be more believable if “The One” actually believed and practiced with his policies what he preached.

Just like the Armageddon that would befall us in the year 2000, the speech that was suppose to indoctrinate our youth. Now who was spreading the baseless lies…..hmm…..oh ya, “Fake News”. Is anyone real surprised? Too funny.
It is too bad Obama did not actually believe what he said to the children.
Succeed? You to can succeed in life and then be demonized by the LEFT as EVIL!
I thought it was a very good speech and that it was easy for children to understand. It was not political at all. Children need to hear these things. They are the future of this country and we need them to succeed.
________
SM: The issue was never with the speech, it was the indoctrination lesson plans that were ultimately dropped.
With regards to his speech … it was great if you live in candyland. Obama is a socialist … individual achievement is EVIL!
