More Opposition to Obamacare … “It took 6 Months to Pick a Dog & You Want Health care Crammed Down Our Throats in Weeks”

A note to Democrats … the opposition to single payer health care and the government take over of health care know as Obamacare is a grass roots movement by “We the People”. If you do not believe it, wait until 2010 when you are all voted out of office.

Remember when the MSM wanted to make all the buzz about Barack Obama’s choice for First Dog? Well, that dog came back to bite him in his Obamacare butt.

The Democrats want to malign actual outrage and dissent with regards to their policy. How does it feel America, that all who dissent will be treated like Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber?

From Freedom’s Lighthouse … the man asking the question in opposition of Obamacare is a registered Democrat.

“Why does Obama want to cram health care down our throats in 3-4 weeks when it took him 6 months to pick a dog for his kids? What are you doing?”

A message to Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, America is a great country and it has nothing to to with government, it has to do with “We the People”.

This solution to healthcare issues facing America was posted on the political thread. With permission from the poster,SteveDinMD, I’m hoping others will find it as interesting as I did:

The truth is that illegal alien health care is among the largest — and fastest growing — cost components imposed on U.S. health care. These costs are currently being absorbed as overhead by health care providers — especially hospitals — with those costs being apportioned among all those paying for service, especially private pay patients, thus significantly increasing costs to U.S. citizens. The Obama Administration is now seeking to implicitly have taxpayers absorb these costs, using the alleged need for doing so as a major justification for socialized medicine. This reasoning is flawed, and I believe intentionally so. I say this because it would be extraordinarily easy to completely eliminate these costs without any legislation significantly modifying how health care services are delivered in this country. Moreover, this can be done without denying lifesaving treatment to anyone, and without any need to embark upon a massive program to identify and deport illegals.

The solution to the problem is to use import duties to finance the cost of treating all aliens, legal and illegal alike. How would this be done? It could be accomplished by requiring all health care providers to obtain proof of identity (and implicitly of citizenship) for each patient prior to treating him/her, or otherwise forgo any government reimbursement for services rendered. With the nationality of each patient thus established, health care providers would simply submit their billing for each patient not otherwise financially provided for to a new bureau of the Dept. of Health and Human Services established for this purpose. Who would pay? The “Alien Health Services Bureau” would reimburse providers from funds collected through imposition of a special Health surtax applied to the tariff schedule for imports from each country. Ideally, the surtax would differ from country to country, reflecting differences in the extent to which their citizens impose costs on the U.S. health care system and differences in the level of trade between each country and the U.S.. How would each tariff rate be determined? There are many ways this could be done. The simplest mechanism would be to by law set the health care tariff rate for each country to that designed to yield, say, 110% of actual health care costs for treating its nationals for the previous fiscal year.

Under this plan, the cost to U.S. persons of treating aliens would drop to near ZERO almost immediately, lifting a tremendous financial burden from the shoulders of U.S. medical consumers and taxpayers. The reason this is NOT being considered, I believe, is because the Obama Administration does NOT wish to address the few, individual market inefficiencies extant in U.S. health care. Rather, they would prefer to avoid fixing problems, thus exacerbating them, with the intention of eventually compelling a government take-over of the entire health care sector of the U.S. economy. Since it is an established fact that it is a complete impossibility for government to improve quality of care, to reduce cost of service, or to increase efficiency and/or dispatch of service delivery, the only cogent reason for embarking upon such course would be in pursuit of private political and/or economic gain at the expense of the public good, which all good citizens should resist to the utmost.

This appears to be an effective solution to a growing and gnawing problem, indeed, but you have to remember that the special interests(lobbyists) that persuade BOTH the Republican and Democratic parties, at this present time, would never allow for such a simple yet profound solution.

Both parties have supported illegals getting health care on our dime because the lobbyists profit immensely from it. The only way to see through this quagmire right now would be to reshuffle one or both parties and change the deck with fresh, dedicated congressmen and senators who will not be bought by these special interests.

You may admit this is a tall order, however the way the administration is groping and gasping for air, kicking and screaming to have this bill passed WITHOUT reading it is an opportune time to nail the representatives with demanding a committment to the American people.

I do see the benefits that you describe, and it sounds appealing. Let’s see how it plays in 2010 or 2012.

Time for Sarah Palin to study alternatives to the health care fiasco we are trying to avoid from President Obama.

I love the comment “It took 6 Months to Pick a Dog & You Want Health care Crammed Down Our Throats in Weeks” The health care reform should be minor fixes not reinventing the wheel. Maybe capping malpractice but also ending bad doctors careers sooner. Allowing people to switch insurance company’s regardless to preexisting conditions.

I once had comprehensive healthcare and it SUCKED! I don’t need the gov’t or anyone else dictating to me when I can go to the doctor and/or who I can see, etc., etc….

It is really time to clean the ‘House’. Dodging dissenters,
avoiding the truth, hiding under the bed, and otherwise
staying aloof from the ‘troof’ is proof that the ‘Dust Mites’
of Congress need to be cleaned out of our lives. They are
complicit in the coordinated destruction of those they claim
      to represent.

I can’t begin to express just how angry I am. How dare Obama and his group of Chicago thugs call me and other Americans “Mobs” because we show up and meetings and actually ask questions and demand answers.

Did everyone forget these people holding those meetings selling government health care work for US. We have a right to ask questions and we have a right to say “no”.

Obama sends out emails and phone calls telling his minions to get in our faces and have their voices heard but calls names, attacks and cries like a baby when we dare to claim the same rights.

The Democrats and Obama KNOW the polls are against them. They KNOW the majority of Americans do not want government health care yet they are willing to ram it down our throats and claim it was only a few special interest people who objected.

Here’s a delightful scenario: We hire an energetic team
to work for us (We The People). These well paid servants
discover that they can use the Power we have entrusted
to ‘turn the tables’ on us. Suddenly, our employees begin
calling the shots against our will. When we ask to see their
plans and demand visibility, we get obfuscation and
are demonized. We, the employers, are actually beginning
to fear our employees. Many of us feel there is plotting
going on behind our backs. At this rate it is expected that
soon We may be working exclusively for our ‘Servants’.

      Anything seem unreasonable about that?

    11. Greg the Mongoose on August 7th, 2009 3:39 am

CNN did a live poll for Obama’s second 100 days of his Administration on handling of health care reform. The Grade was a Big FAT D! 49% F :-) Someone is going to lose their job over in CNN…

or perhaps you could use the idea that Bush had.

give the illegal ppl a work permit so they can pay for healthcare…and the employers pay their (employers) taxes (because they are the ones who make the most profit).

      @1 CBB:

you want the country that a person comes from to pay the bill, right?
I can see many problems, we Europeans have a good health insurance (and if I travel, I have a travel insurance) which would pay for it and our goverments could afford to pay it……
However, I have the feeling that it might be different with your southern neighbours.

you are going to expect a almost bankrupt Mexico to pay?
and on top of that, you just created a whole new department.

couldn’t it be better to make sure you don’t get shafted by the pharma-industry?

    13. BUN on August 7th, 2009 11:03 am

Dolf…I just have the feeling that you are a young guy with no major illness or not needing surgery????I have worked with an RN from UK who said her Mom almost “died” waiting for an operation. Mexico is not our friend as I see it….since you are not a US citizen why are you making suggestions for US, why not “run your own rats” as is done in med school????

Is anybody else getting tired of Dolf sticking his nose in our business and thinking he knows it all?

Re #14: Maybe you could set up an email account – say “flag@scaredmonkeys.com” – and stifle that sort of thing…

13: I have friends who saw their newborn baby die due to crappy (and not caring) doctors

in every country you will find horror stories like this.

14: I don’t know it all, but unlike you I try to have an open mind to any solution and not follow the loudmouths like sheep

    17. Scott on August 11th, 2009 10:53 am

#16 you exactly the prime example of sheep following the herd to the slaughter, except you are not American so you really do not count in any American discussion.

      you have an open mind?

An open mind looks at EVERY aspect of healthcare including the most important to us AMERICANS, the cost, which is of no relevance to you NOR is this problem because you are still going to have shitty socialized healthcare….

The baby died in your shitty socialized medicine not ours….we do not treat our children like that over here, well except Tiller. American hospitals make every effort to birth healthy children. And if you say they were American docs then your a liar plain and simple.

Ohhh boy, you have friends…but it’s not like having children of your own you need to worry about as our leaders we elect continue to bankrupt them…

    18. Dolf on August 12th, 2009 7:16 am

again scott, go take that reading class.

I never said anything about a US doctor, although there are bound to be some dumb asses there too.
I say that in every country there are horror stories.

and healthcare costs are not the no.1. on my list, thats the quality
