Prior to Last Nights Obama Health care Presser … 53% Now Oppose Congressional Health Care Reform … No Vote Prior to Recess

President Obama’s health care foing dowm in flames as Democrats oppose it as well.

According to a poll at the Rasmussen Report prior to last nights Obamacare press conference, 53% of Americans opposed the Congressional Health care reform. Opposition has grown from 45% in late June to 49% two weeks ago and 53% in Rasmussen’s recent poll. After last nights non-informative and weak effort to explain the details, look for the opposition to increase.

The health care reform legislation working its way through Congress has lost support over the past month. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 44% of U.S. voters are at least somewhat in favor of the reform effort while 53% are at least somewhat opposed.

One thing is for certain, there will be no passage or vote, thankfully, for Obamacare prior to the Congressional recess. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) on Wednesday acknowledged for the first time that a pre-recess vote on healthcare reform is unlikely. There will be no rush to vote for Obamacare, despite The One’s full court press to pressure politicians to do so. The longer that Obamacare is discussed and the details come out, the more opposition will increase. Thus the reason why Obama wanted to ram this health care reform through.

“We’re going to take a little longer to get it right,” Durbin told The Hill when asked about the oft-stated goal of a vote on or before Aug. 7, when a month long Senate recess begins. “Initially we had hoped for a full vote by then, but I don’t think it’s going to be possible.”

As Stop the ACLU states, if true, this is a victory.

Hot Air has the same cautious optimism, “Breaking: No vote on health care before August recess, says Durbin”. With Nancy Pelosi claiming she has the votes to pass Obamacare, there are several Blue Dog Democrats stating quite the opposite.

The Weekly Standard is reporting quite a different story as “54 House Democrats and All Republicans Against Obamacare? Update: Make that 69 Dems?”

Speaker Pelosi may just not remember that she was told that she does not have the votes as “dozens of Democrats are lining up against her.”

the only thing obama has accomplished is to divide the country and to elevate racial problems in America.
i think if iwas trying to force my way into my house and my neighbors called the cops, i would have been given the same treatment.
we have a more serious problem barry, there are no jobs unless you are black or an illegal, college grads can’t find work, people giving up hope and we get this stupid tap dance about healthcare reform and his little temper tantrum.

If I were you, I’d not bet on it. It would not be unlike botox nan to throw this thing out the day before the recess and then threaten members’ that they ain’t going on their vacations until they pass it. It all depends on whether Nan has her own vacation plans.

#2 don’t bet on that either. Just the sight of der leader gives some of his minions such a thrill. The fact that he didn’t say anything truthful will never cross their minds. After all Obmama is going to prevent that dirty nasty profit driven evil doctor from taking little Johnny’s tonsils!

Thank GOD that Congress didn’t rush this thru without reading it like everything else that Obama has put forth. Maybe, just maybe they are starting to realize that this isn’t going to help and the people do not want government controlled health care.

The government is already paying a huge portion of the population’s healthcare now. Small businesses, farmers and individuals are getting SCREWED!!

What Percentage of the population currently receives some sort of government-paid-for healthcare (either directly or indirectly)?

Medicaid (Welfare) recipients (9%) (not including seniors on Medicaid) taxpayer provided
Illegals (??) – Free (paid by taxpayers)
Seniors (13.8%) – SOCIAL security — taxpayer pays a significant portion of medical care
Military personnel & Veterans (7%) – FREE or almost free, paid by taxpayers
Federal & State government employees (14%) – paid by taxpayers
Congress – healthcare paid by taxpayers
Certain Qualified Aliens (??) – Government paid healthcare via SSI
Disabled people (19.4%) – Taxpayer paid
Prisoners (1.8%) – FREE paid by taxpayers (almost 2 in every 100 ppl)

In summary, almost 70% of the population is currently on some kind of government or government-paid-for healthcare. (Not including Illegal or Certain Qualified Aliens)

Why wouldn’t about 80% of the population be satisfied with their healthcare — they’re probably being covered either directly or indirectly by the government.

Something has got to be done to help us small business people get affordable health insurance. The private sector has had 30 years to come up with solutions. At least Obama is keeping Congress’ feet to the fire. This issue can no longer be put off.

Congress is up for election, and they are afraid that In$urance Companie$ & Pharmacutical$ will not contribute to their campaign if they do anything to jepordize profits & control that the in$urance companie$ and pharmacutical$ currently enjoy.

I THINK OBAMA AND THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT HIM IN OUR GOVERNMENT HAVE BEEN VERY DISHONEST WITH EVERYTHING THAT THEY HAVE DONE SINCE HE HAS BEEN ELECTED.INCLUDING HEALTH CARE. EXCEPT MORE CONTROL OF CHOICE AND WHO WE ARE MAYBE THAT’S WHAT HE WANTS.THAT’S WHAT I GET OUT OF HIM AND THE PEOPLE IN ARE GOVERNMENT THAT SUPPORT HIM.I NEVER HAVE HEARD OBAMA SAY HOW GREAT ARE COUNTRY IS
