What a Shocker, Not … Jon and Kate Plus 8 Gosselin Announce Their Divorce … DIVORCE FOR TV RATINGS

Jon and Kate go splitsville; however, the show must go on … PATHETIC!

“I don’t hate Kate, but … I have to do what’s best for me and my kids.” Yeah, that’s why these two parents of the year will continue the TV program. It’s for the children. If they really wanted to do best for their children they would end this reality show and get their children out of the spotlight. This couple and show is truly shameless. Maybe we can watch Kate throw a frying pan at Jon or Jon curse out Kate live and in color as their children watch as they go through their divorce for ratings. Because after all, it’s for the kids.

Jon and Kate Gosselin of the “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ reality TV show have announced that they are divorcing and ending their 10 year marriage. Please do so and for your children’s sake do it out of the eye of the media and stop exploiting your children for your 15 minutes of fame.

The co-stars of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” who are parents of sextuplets and twins, spoke of their decision to separate during Monday’s episode of the TLC reality series. Near the end of the hour-long episode, a title card summed things up in stark terms: It said that on Monday, “legal proceedings were initiated in Pennsylvania to dissolve the 10-year marriage of Jon and Kate Gosselin.”

The network had been promising a major on-air decision from the couple, whose increasingly troubled marriage has dominated the series in recent weeks, as well as fueling a firestorm of tabloid coverage.

So let’s understand this, there was a firestorm of tabloid coverage in anticipation of the divorce. What do they think there will be during the public “reality” divorce? DUH!

Sadly, these self-centered idiots could care less about their children than there so-called fame.

Jon described his relationship with Kate as “a total breakdown of everything.”

But the show will continue, both Gosselins agreed.

‘Jon & Kate’ Separate as Cameras Roll

Also surprising almost nobody, Jon and Kate Gosselin indicated that TLC reality show would continue to be taped. The fifth season premiere of the show last month drew nearly 10 million viewers to TLC, shattering records for the channel.

“We’ve always done the show for the kids to be able to provide for them, to collect the memories for ourselves,” Ms. Gosselin said.

Mr. Gosselin said he would still participate in the show, albeit separately from Ms. Gosselin. “We’ll film different things, me and the kids, her and the kids,” he said.

I stopped watching tonight because they are using the kids as pawns for their own selfish actions. There is no hint whatsoever that they even tried to work it out. Sure Jon screwed up but Kate hasn’t been all that perfect and saintly as well. My prediction: when all the media press fizzles people will stop watching and the true fans will have already switched channels because they saw the demise of this family coming in previous seasons with the unreal lifestyle they started to live. Very likely they might be in debt with that million dollar house and therefore “easy come, easy go”. All the fame and money gone as quick as it came and soon the house, the perks, the lavish lifestyle will all end. The bitter part about it will be they will not be a family anymore.

#2 – Agreed. I miss the days of truly creative television. Instead of voyeurist garbage.

They aren’t stopping the show because they are under contract for a couple of years at a time. I think Jon wants to get out of the show but can’t. I think Kate is the one that sees it for what it is – a money maker. Of course neither of them have a problem with all the freebies they get (like the Crooked houses last night) and Jon got a motorcycle and Kate a scooter from some other reality motorcycle show.

To me, Jon has been wife whipped too much and suddenly is out for himself. He wants to take the money and run but his claims “every thing is for the kids” rings very hallow. Jon never grew up.

I think Kate has a more mature outlook on the importance of the kids (perhaps because of what she went through to have them) but still doesn’t realize what a b*tch she is. Even last night she whined a bunch about how long it took to build the crooked houses.

In the end, both are very selfish people – but then golly – look at what’s on TV these days – b*thes like the New Jersey Housewives who think they are very special people because they have money.

Believe it or not, it is reported that the $1MM house was yet another freebie. And since they lost their dignity a season ago, their intent is clear…exploit the kids as long as possible, regardless of the consequences. No wonder you never see any other family members on the show…my heart goes out to those helpless children!

If I went so far out of my way to produce children through IVF I would never put them through what these kids are and will continue to go through. If either one of them really cared about their family, they would have shut off the cameras a long time ago and healed their family and marriage. Jon and Kate should be ashamed to have their dirty laundry aired on national TV for all to see. For Kate to say that they’ve always done the show for the kids so they can have documented memories is completely ridiculous. Ask any of those kids if they want documented memories of the nastiness, arguing and divorce. I am thinking probably not. Nice try, Kate.

      #9—Completely Agree…

Is this divorce a big shocker? No one really cares except the millions who keep tuning in.

How do you work out visitation rights for those 8 children? What a shame, and such a big mess and all Kate & Jon seem to care about it the freebies and how much their next paycheck is. Explotation at it’s finest, Reality TV at it’s worst.

Jon and Kate’s 15 minutes of fame will soon end (the show is to be on hiatus until August.) Let’s see who tunes in then. Prayers that the extended family steps in to do the right thing for these beautiful children…put the cameras away and let them finally be kids!!!

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I can give you 1000+ families that deserve to be followed. Please stop POURING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO THE LOSER FAMILY OF JON AND KATE. OBVIOUSLY NOT MONOGAMOUS………SO WHY ARE YOU CONTINUING TO AIR THIS STUFF? SO MANY WONDERFUL NEEDY FAMILIES IN AMERICA THAT WOULD BOW DOWN AND BLESS THE GROUND YOU WALKED ON. FORGET THIS MEDIA HUNGRY MESS
