17 year old Arnold T. Ross was arrested by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and charged with aggravated rape and first degree murder of a 8 month old infant. The child, Da-Von Lonzo, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Ross id the boyfriend of the murdered baby’s mother. Rape and murder of an 8 month old child!!! There are crimes and then there are crimes that just shock all sensibilities.

Authorities say Ross told them he was the boyfriend of the infant’s mother and the baby fell down the stairs while he was baby-sitting.
Authorities say Ross later acknowledged that he beat the infant repeatedly when he would not stop crying.
The medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide.
Under Louisiana law, Ross can be charged as an adult for these crimes. What a shock, Arnold Ross has a lengthy criminal history that includes arrests on drug possession charges; obscenity; battery on a correctional officer; three counts of battery on a school teacher; theft; weapons charges; and assault. Just the type one would want babysitting one’s child. Why do women allow their children to be around such heinous individuals?
The medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide, noting that his body had multiple fractures consistent with being beaten. The child also had tears in his rectum, police said.
In an interview, the teen, Arnold T. Ross, initially told authorities Da-Von fell down the stairs and stopped breathing while he was baby-sitting him. But a neighbor reported hearing loud noises coming from the apartment, and investigators noted inconsistencies in Ross’s statement, according to the sheriff’s office.

This is just heartbreaking. I will never understand why these things happen. The mother needs to be charged with child endangerment for allowing this piece of shit to even be around her baby much less under his care. I just don’t understand people.

An 8 MONTH old baby “fell down the stairs”?? this piece of shit has apparently lied his way through life with everybody believing any dumb ass thing coming out of his mouth. 8 MONTH old babies can barely sit up yet!!!! He obviously raped the baby & when it wouldnt stop crying because of the pain, he beat it to death. Doesnt take a genius to figure that one out. DEATH PENALTY PLEASE!!!!!!

Amazing that people will stand up and scream at the roof tops when a terrorist is questioned using the water boarding but where are those loud voices for these babies????????? Why are we so outraged about the ten commandments in federal buildings and prayer in school and the ever so offensive patriotism shown at work- yet we just sit back and read another heartbreaking story in the news on a daily basis. I am so dissapointed in myself for not fighting harder for these innocent children. It is just getting to be too much!!!!!!!!!!

My only gripe about the Death Penalty is that our tax dollars will pay to feed this Scumbag 3 squares a day until his appeal process runs out.
I agree with Dee. The sad thing is obviously the people who surrounded this young man in his life did not have sense enough to know he needed help and should not be given the chance to be in charge of an infant or child. Why was he not in jail already with those previous charges? And battery of a teacher pisses me off the most other than the rape/murder! Why is anyone who assaults a teacher or officer or anyone for that matter allowed to walk the streets? Our culture & justice system is one to blame-there will be a lot more of these…
Sadly this same thing happened in N.C. last year. The SOB raped an 8 month old baby boy and pushed his little face into the mattress so no one would here him screaming and suffocated the baby.
Anyone that is convicted of a crime like this should not get any appeals. Their victim din’t get an appeal.If the courts would start taking these excuses for human beings out of the courtroom and put them to death the same day, some of these horrific crimes against children would stop. Prison is a walk in the park for most of these sick individuals.
The bleeding hearts will say he needs help, he needs rehabilitated, he’s just a misunderstood child, it’s not his fault…blah….blah..blah…and that is why he was allowed to walk the streets after committing other crimes. He should have been locked up. IF he can be rehabilitated, fine, if not, his ass should never be allowed in public again. Bottom line is this guy had a criminal record and had no business near a child PERIOD! The system failed this baby boy by allowing this monster to continue to break the law with little to no consequences. This 17 year old’s family failed him, it is a vicious cycle.

People who doe this type of thing have a long history of bad behavior. I taught a young man as a sixth grade student who showed signs of violence and would not take instruction. He was conceived by a mother who was a dope-head. The entire community tried to work with him and we thought he had managed to overcome his problems. How wrong we were. One night, in a fit of rage, he beat his own child so badly that the child did not survive. He is now in prison with a life sentence without parole. Sad.
I cried when I read this. This baby had absolutely no defense and no possibility of escaping from this monster. I also hurt for the mother of this child. Single mothers need to be so careful…not only are you taking a risk yourself being with people that you do not hardly know, you are putting your children in danger. Children are defenseless. I would never leave my child in the care of anyone that I didn’t know very well. VERY irreponsible.

I think we should chain him up in one of those glass testing rooms that have the gloves infused in the wall to interact with what’s in the room. Cover his genitals in honey, release bees into the room, and then use the gloves to taze him. And this should be broadcasted live to anyone who wants to watch on the 10:00 news. =D
