Isn’t this the type of behavior that Barack Obama wanted to change in Washington? All jokes aside, as some of the event was funny, there was a much deep seeded issue with this event.
The Wanda Sykes attempt at comedy is a much larger and far reaching one that just wishing that “Rush Limbaugh’s kidneys would fail.” It is a microcosm of all that presently is wrong with this administration. It was ok to sit back and laugh while jokes referencing September 11 were made. It was nothing more than a love-fest between the media and this president. More to the point, was not this event supposed to be a roast of the President? Are they afraid to make fun of him? Do they think the people might think that the joke may in fact be reality?
The LA Times is reporting that the White House did not see humor in the jokes that Wanda Sykes made at the President’s Correspondence Dinner over the weekend. Really? President Barack Obama appeared to be laughing at the jokes. Most everyone in the media present at this even also laughed at a joke pointed at the death of over 3000 Americans died.
But to top it off, Sykes then tied Limbaugh to the tragedy and mass murders of 9/11.
“I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker. But he was so strung out on Oxycontin that he missed his flight … I hope his kidneys fail. How about that?”
Why did the media feel the need to ask a question how President Barack Obama felt when Wanda Sykes made the joke about Rush Limbaugh being the 20th hijacker? They could see for them self in the video about that he laughed.
The White House Apologies for President Obama Laughing at a 9–11 Joke. Why does the White House feel the need to apologize for the White House? Were they not at the event to provide the proper reaction there?
But Gibbs put the White House down firmly on the side of Sykes’ critics, saying some things should be subjects of serious reflection and not comedy and he felt the president would list 9/11 as one of them.
Watch the president in this video; see if you think he disagrees with Sykes at that moment. So, hoping Obama fails is outrageous, but hoping someone dies from kidney failure is funny.

Evidently, Obama’s method of “serious reflection” on subjects that shouldn’t be joked about is to laugh at the jokes made about them, then to declare that such laughter is inappropriate — though, given his reaction, presumably he means inappropriate for others.
As Michelle Malkin aptly states regarding Obama’s outrage and disgust at the 9–11 joke, I haven’t seen Obama this angry since Daniel Ortega’s speech. Oh that’s right, he wasn’t offended at that either.

I thought it was funny. She wasn’t making a joke about people dying on 9-11. She was making a joke about treason, suggesting that in accordance with his wishes that this country fails, it wouldn’t surprise her that Rush was one of the terrorists.
In my opinion, it’s a big ta do about nothing. It’s a sad state of affairs when Rush Limbaugh can go on the radio and television and make scandalous remarks about this country and it’s President, but we are to hold our breath when someone makes a joke about him.
Personally, I wouldn’t have apologized.
This is in keeping with everything else Obama. His crew doesn’t care about this country or it’s citizens. That truth will eventually be seen. Even by the dopiest of liberals. And you know, we got a few.

This is the most offficially apologizing WH in history. For every blunder, there’s an a bogus “I’m sorry.” If he were truly sorry, he wouldn’t have laughed in the first place. Too bad he wasn’t visiting WTC on 9/11….PRICK!

Limbaugh may have to wait for Obama’s/Socialism’s failure, but it’ll happen. Socialism always fail, hence, so will the USA unfortunately. Jimmy Carter proved it. Unless of course, you ARE a socialist. In which case, you will see your version of ‘victory’. In which case, a more agreeable ENTITLEMENT atmosphere might be Canada, England, Europe, Australia, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, etc, etc. Just choose you’re flavor (totalitarion level).
I thought Wanda was funny. Most all top comics are misfits. I don’t look to people like her, or Sean Penn, or Tim Robbins for any bright ideas on politics. I love them on TV and in movies, though. I never hoped the country would “fail” when Carter was president, or when Clinton was elected. I think Limbaugh was wrong to say this. The right wing needs a leader. We need to be patient, because someone will step up. When that person emerges, we should stand behind him (or her) with positive ideas and not a bunch of hate mongering.
@#7 I keep preaching the same thing and they still don’t get it. RUSH DID NOT say he wanted this country to fail. He loves this country. He said he wanted Obama to fail in his policies to turn us into a socialist country. That my friends is not treason but as usual the liberals twist things to fit their hateful agenda. I don’t recall Rush saying that he wanted anything bad to happen to Obama like kidney failure.
Seems like Limbaugh has all the libs in an uproar, wonder why that is? A radio talk show host has the liberals fighting mad but they listen to the MSM all day long and sing their praises. AMAZING!

timmy geithner confirmed this in his last tv interview. listeners just weren’t paying attention to detail when he said it.
Wanda Sykes should be apologizing to Russ Limbaugh, and yes, the WH should be apologizing for laughing in POOR TASTE at her stupid comments! I don’t think Sykes was joking. She really hopes that Limbaugh’s kidneys fail. Of course, that would mean certain death for Russ, but what does Sykes care? Sykes is psychotic!

Why do you care if Rush is lining his pocket with money? The dems are lining their pockets with my tax money that’s what you should be concerned about, not what Rush Limbaugh is doing. He’s a talk show host, so what at least he has a job and isn’t mooching off the government. Don’t you think that Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, etc. etc. aren’t lining their pockets with money. Of course they are, that’s how we got into this mess.
I do not think the Press Secretary should apologize, I think Wanda Sykes needs to apologize for stinking up the place with her attempt at humor. I think whoever hired her should apologize for being so stupid in the first place. I doubt Rush Limbaugh even cares what she thinks or what she says.

The United States is made of numerous fragmented political factions. There is no difference between all the Obama detractors and the Bush detractors.
