Obama Transparency … Feds Knew NYC Flyover Would Cause Panic … Did it any how.
As President Barack Obama tell American to cut costs and states that he will order government departments to cut a paltry $100 million … the low-altitude flight for a publicity-photo shoot and one of the most ignorant, stupid and moronic stunts ever by any Administration cost tax payers $328,835.
The Feds knew the flyover would cause panic and they did it any how, NICE!
Not only did this stunt cause wide spread panic in Manhattan as visions of September 11, 2001 were brought back to vivid reality as people fled their office buildings in fear of a terrorist attack. This most ignorant act was a waste of tax payers money and an obvious misuse and inappropriate use of Department of Defense resources. It appears that President Obama was in the dark regarding the entire matter and vows that “It was a mistake and It will not happen again.” REALLY? Too late Barack, the screw up already occurred and the genie is out of the bottle. As Michelle Malkin states, just another in a long line a incompetent events and actions that took place during Obama’s first 100 days.
“It was a mistake,” Obama said today before a meeting at FBI headquarters in Washington. “It will not happen again.”
The incident continued to reverberate in New York and Washington today with two senators demanding an accounting of how the flight was approved, its cost and procedures aimed at avoiding a repeat.
“The supposed mission represents a fundamentally unsound exercise in military judgment and may have constituted an inappropriate use of Department of Defense resources,” Senator John McCain of Arizona wrote in a letter to Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
What makes matters even worse in this colossal screw up is that the FAA knew about this stunt and the Feds knew the NYC flyover would cause panic and they did it anyhow!!! So much for that Obama transparency.
Threatened Federal Sanctions Against NYPD, Secret Service, FBI & Mayor’s Office If Secret Ever Got Out
In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration’s James Johnston said the agency was aware of “the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes” in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor’s office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.
So what does one do after scaring the hell out of people and wasting over $300K of tax payers money? Barack Obama is going to have an investigation into his own Administrations incompetence, waste more tax payer dollars and cover the whole matter up by throwing a minion under the bus, or is it the plane.
Now for the latest lie and spin from the Obama White House … it was not a photo-op, it was now considered a training mission.
Three-Hour Mission
That includes $300,658 for the larger plane, which flew a three-hour mission, and about $28,178 for the F-16 jets, which flew 1.8 hours each, Stein said in an e-mailed statement.
The total includes fuel used in flight, fuel used to power ground equipment used to prepare the aircraft, and ground maintenance, Stein said.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said yesterday’s flyover was “two training missions that became in the end a picture mission” and only Air Force personnel were aboard.

You know what? When my ancestor left Europe in 1775 to come to the New World for a new life and fight against his homeland, he was putting both his and his wife’s life in danger as they were considered treasonous by the Brits. He would have been shot if captured.

Well said! One answer is with the Tea Party Movement, as a way of having our voices and points of view heard. Hopefully will continue to grow. It’s our own form of Hope and Change we’re trying to bring about.

Not really, but look at the reaction of (again)DHS Napolitano when she says that closing the border now would be like ” closing the gates after the horses got out”.
If there were a bonafide flu pandemic, closing the borders would have to be a top priority. If this is in fact a bonafide situation, and she means what she just said, she has put the Nation’s security at an even higher more dangerous risk. That is why we need someone at the helm of that post that knows what they are doing.
