An AMBER ALERT has been issued for missing 5 year old Haleigh Cummings in Florida. Haleigh Cummings was last seen on Monday night, February 9, 2009 at approximately 10 pm when Misty Croslin, the girlfriend of Haleigh Cummings’ father put 5 year old Haleigh to bed. Haleigh Cummings is missing from a rural area of Florida about 70 miles north of Orlando in Hermus Cove in Satsuma in Putnam County. Do we have another Caylee Anthony case on our hands or a Jessica Lunsford abduction?

In is presently unclear whether Haleigh Cummings was abducted as the trailer where she lives had no signs of forced entry but a back door was ajar. Ronald Cummings, Haleigh’s father said that she was missing when he returned home from work around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Police have not stated whether the father or the girlfriend are suspects in the disappearance of 5 year old Haleigh Cummings; however, they have been questioned by authorities.
Ronald Cummings, who is in his 20s, was working Monday night for a company that builds bridges, and his girlfriend, Misty Croslin, 17, woke up and realized Haleigh was missing just before he returned home about 3:30 a.m., according to Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.Croslin alerted authorities while Ronald Cummings began to search for his daughter.
He was soon joined by 130 officers from several law-enforcement agencies with bloodhounds and helicopters. The double-wide trailer on Green Lane where Haleigh lived with her father, Croslin and a 2-year-old brother showed no sign of forced entry, according to Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. A back door was ajar, sheriff’s Capt. Steve Rose said.

An intensive search in on Tuesday evening in the northwestern section of Florida as authorities look for a missing 5-year old Putnam County girl. Officials have used helicopters in the air, as well as blood hounds on the ground, as they methodically searched the banks of the nearby St. Johns River. Putnam County Sheriffs Investigator John Merchant says a decision was made early on in this missing case to deploy a massive amount of manpower to scour the area as much as possible to find the little girl.

UPDATE I: Police, divers search neighborhood for Florida girl
Officers from local, state and federal agencies and K-9 teams scoured the neighborhood. Check points were set up at the entrance to the neighborhood to search departing vehicles. Two dive teams explored the St. Johns River. Neighbors and family members also were being interviewed by detectives.

CALLER: I just woke up and my back door was all open and I can’t find my daughter.
DISPATCH: Can’t find what?
CALLER: My daughter.
DISPATCH:Ok. When did you last see her?
CALLER: Um, we just like, you know, it was about 10 o’clock. She was sleeping (inaudible).
DISPATCH: Ok. How old is your daughter?
CALLER: She’s 5.
DISPATCH: OK. What was she last seen wearing, Ma’am?
CALLER: She was in her pajamas. We were sleeping.
DISPATCH: OK. Alright, you said your back door was wide open?
CALLER: Yes, with a brick. Like, there was a brick on the floor. Like, when I went to sleep the door was not like that.
DISPATCH: Was your back door locked do you know?
CALLER: Yes. The back door always
stays locked.
FATHER: I just got home from work, my 5-year-old daughter is gone. I need someone to be here now. I’m telling you. If I find whoever has my daughter before you all do, I’m killing him. I don’t care. I’ll spend the rest of my life in prison.
DISPATCH: It’s OK sir, we got them on the way. Can you give me a description of the pajamas she was wearing?

What is it with Florida & missing children? Seems to be happening a lot.
As I said on a previous post, “Haighley” and “Caylee” might even sound alike. Why there are so many horrible things going on is beyond my knowledge; is it possible that the intense coverage of the Caylee Anthony case gave some pervert ideas?
Dear Lord: please find this child and return her safely to her Dad. He sounds so broken. He has sworn to kill the person who took her, if he finds him/her before the police. I heard on MSNBC that there are 40 registered sex offenders within a 5 mile radius of this house. What on earth is wrong with these people? There is no recovery for a sexual predator. They should be locked up for life after the first offense, no appeals, nothing. Our children are not safe as long as these monsters are allowed to hunt down innocent little beings. I hope the father finds this monster! I am praying for this little girl.

I wouldn’t be so quick to blame a 17 year old girl. She’s still a kid and probably doesn’t wake up easy. I think someone snuck in there and ran with that child. This was the point of the block holding the door open. This made for a quick escape. This is the act of one of those sex offenders. The police need to search everyone of their homes and fast. There are a lot of things I’m against… pornography, child abuse, and a 17-year-old living with a man outside of marriage being included in those. That may sound judgmental, but I’m entitled to my opinion. We do still live in a free country, at least temporarily. I have seen in some other news reports, however, that some people have made negative comments about this dad’s comments to the police in the 911 call because he is cursing so much. You know, as conservative as I am, I think the guy must dearly love his daughter and this is just his way of expressing it. If someone took one of my children, I think I’d honestly be threatening to kill him/her as well. And while I do believe in forgiveness, I also believe sexual predators, especially those who target children, should be subject to the death penalty, not held in prison on taxpayers’ dime and especially not sitting in neighborhoods just waiting to kidnap, rape, and kill more innocent little children. I pray that this dad sees his little girl happy and healthy again.
Everyone should help find a missing child this young ! Search every house, have road blocks, search data bases for sex offenders near the neighborhood. Ask neighbors whose been seen arond the trailer in the past 5 days. These parents need lie detector tests..Is their a jealouse lover, or grandparent envolved?Is their any cameras in the neighborhood, conveinent stores, street cameras, neighbor cameras, satalitte cameras. What did the parents both do with nheir

I think it’s unfair to pass judgement on the girlfriend at this point. Honestly, people. We’re most likely all adults here, and have been an irresponsible teenager at one point or another… does that mean we kill babies? No. And the 911 call says the back door was propped open with a brick – it doesn’t mean that someone didn’t find their hide-a-key to the front door, come in, prop the back door open for an easier escape.
I think this case is more Jessica Lunsford (rest her soul) than Caylee Anthony.
After reviewing the information that I have been given via media on this child here is a tip/suggestion fo anyone who may read this. I think that if this is an actual abduction which my gut tells me it is, they need to search the river bottoms if there happens to be a body of water in this area. I don’t know the area and have not checked a map yet but if there is a body of water they need to run up and down the banks of it. Check dark alleys where someone who is homeless might be living. I doubt she is in a wooded area- still possible though. This child may still be alive but if she is.. she is almost dead. I can almost gaurantee that this child will be found dead and I can almost assure you she is or was tortured and raped repeatidly. Most likely a white male, probably between 5 foot eight inches to five foot eleven inches. Average in weight with probably some sort of facial hair. Scruffy looking. Probably a drug user and not neccessarily a known registered sex offender because not all sex offenders get caught.. but it could be someone who is registered of course that is always possible. They need to ask the family or anyone close to the case if that family knows of anyone that fits this profile. We all know that usually when something like this happens it the suspect turns out to be someone that knows the family or victim and oddly enough they don’t have to know them well.. they could have just said hi to eachother and boom there ya go. I could be way off and not know what I am talking about but in this sort of situation any gut feelings or anything of this nature deserves to be looked into the more places you look the more places you can rule out right? That’s the beauty of the process of elimination. Thanks for your time and I hope someone checks into this. I really do. It could be a matter between life and death.
NG has her suspicions and so do I. Did girlfriend have a key or did she have to prop the back door open to go in and out? Were there visitors in the residence when the Dad was working unbeknownst to him? Did Misty leave for awhile and come back? Did someone know this was occurring, taking advantage of the open back door to the residence thus Misty inadvertently providing the opportunity for the abduction? Why was Haleigh missing so much school, to the point where the father told his ex he was “ready to be arrested” for her lack of attendance? (Per the birthmom on NG) Why did Misty say “I loved her”, in the past tense, a Fraudian slip? I know I sound very suspicious, and this Misty is very young,but the young do foolish things with a bit of “freedom”. Freedom as in living with the boyfriend at 17, something doesn’t add up, it stinks in my opinion. I hope I am entirely incorrect, and this little girl is found safe and sound. okay i think that the girl friend did something because how come the door was not damaged at all and why was the light on in the kitchen. plus if they slept in the same bed would you think that the girlfriend would see something or hear something. i hope they find that little gurl safe and sound and bring her back to her father.
I would suspect the father. What kind of adult in his right mind would even think of dating a minor. That’s the reason there’s so many registered “sex offenders” it’s usually is a result of a bad breakup with an age difference like this. It seems to me like it was someone on the inside. Criminals don’t just sneak into houses at night while people are at home sleeping. Although this is the stereotypical “break in” most people think of. I hope the child is alright but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of the abductor being a family member.
Personally, I think the whole family is acting strange. When the Aunt( ronalds sister) was asked how long he and the babysitter had been together, she “didn’t know” when asked again if she didn’t have some idea, again she said” I really dont know”.
Also strange that the bio Mom gave her kids up so easy, and has made no attempt to get them back. According to her, the “Court” said they were better off where they were (with the Dad).

There was no forced entry but the back door was open. Ok. Has anyone checked out if the father changed the locks when they moved into the house a few months back? My point being that if not then they need to check anyone having a key to the doors from when it was rented out before. Someone could have used a key to open the front door then exited through the back door. Someone with prior knowledge of what was around there knew that the pile of cinder blocks were over in the weeds or where ever. Also The dogs picked up scent going down to the water. If someone was familiar with the property they might have had a small boat of some kind waiting at the water’s edge to leave in. Just a thought~they need to check out anyone who had keys from a prior time.

He didn’t like taking her to and from school.
So the girl missed a lot of school, he was threatened with jail if she’d miss more.
The timeline here is the weekend preceding the Monday when she was finally reported missing by his underage (!) girlfriend who appeared spaced out or retarded.
She claimed they all slept in one bed – that’s what he must have told her to say.
It would give him a solid alibi, he was at work when the child was in bed with his his “girlfriend.”
The man is violent – social services has been at the trailer before – he cried too loud – thought he was acting.
The girlfriend changed her story once people looked at her.

revenge” to the person responsible, if his daughter is dropped off. Kidnapping has a life sentence attached to it, that isn’t revenge, it is the law. What does he mean “no revenge”? Does anyone have any theories why he says he wouldn’t take revenge? Does he have a hunch who it he?

Geraldo Rivera was on O’Reilly yesterday and says he has a picture of Haleigh with black eyes and a busted lip. He seems to think that the father has abused her. I read a comment somewhere and the person thinks maybe Ronald killed his daughter and made his girlfriend call and set up this whole kidnapping thing. Ronald and his girlfriend was on the Greta Van Susteren show a week or so ago and she asked how far away Haleigh was sleeping from Misty and she said a few inches away. As soon as she said that Ronald gave a quick glance to her..like he was saying …stay with our story. Then he said, no it was more like a few feet. It looked really suspicious.
I truly hope she is alive though. I absolutely hate hearing about children being murdered.

I heard Haleigh fell at the playground at school, that would account for a scratch on her nose, but, what if she honestly did fall and hurt herself? Kids do fall off bikes.
What bothers me is how Ron comforts

I have done alot of investigation myself on this case. Also on the Police report Klassend posted it says the deputies arrived at the house code 3 lights and sirens at 3:40 am in the police report misty said she got up to get a drink of water just before 3 am and Ron returned home about 5 mins later. He says as soon as he got home he told Misty to call 911 which would have been no later than 3:05 am according to Ron’s acct. So what happened in the 35 mins from 3:05 Am and 3:40 am? Also I have this info as well

I just wanted to say that I have read the court order giving Ron Custody of the kids. The only difference between the Bio Mom and Bio Dad is that he had a job for 3 months and she had lost hers because she went from GA to Fl to visit the kids. He would not let her leave the Palatka area with the kids even after he had taken them to Mexico and Texas for almost a month and she lost her job over the fact she could not go to work.
Also under Oath the Dad said all of his previous arrests for Drugs etc was way back in 1999 and should not be considered however I found his arrest report he was given custody of the kids only 4 months after being arrested on DRUG Charges and was on Probation when he lied under oath saying he had not been arrested when actually he had been arrested several times since 1999 he was arrested in possesion of Marijuana over 20 grams, Herion, Cocaine, Drug Paraphanalia, Opiates other than heroin, pure Opium and several other Drug related offenses. He lied on Nancy Grace when he said he had never been convicted that is not true he plead No Contest and received a lighter sentence in a plea agreement with the State so they did not have to spend money bringing him to trial. He Girlfriend now Child Bride has changed her story many times and on the Today Show when Meredith Viera asked Misty why she had changed her story so many times she was silent looked up at Ron and when he said nothing she said I don’t know. I don’t know. I am all for equality when it comes to the custody and Child Support of Children but this Man shows Classic signs of being a Abuser of Women I should know been there more times than I can count. He also admitted on National TV that he has dated many Teenagers. Not normal behavior for a Man.

That could be the reason he only got Probation when he was busted with all those Drugs instead of prison time. Also the reason he could have gotten custody of the kids.
Also DCF been called to the home and they were still “Giving Services to the Home” When Haleigh went missing.

I think they need to arrest Misty for impeding an investigation since she has changed her story so many times.
Also in the Police Report and on the 911 tapes Ron kept saying “They” being the key word here stole my baby. He also referred to Misty in the Police Report as my Bit&h A$$ Girlfriend. And the other night on Nancy Grace he said Please bring my Daughter back “It is time to bring her home” Ron’s Mom says ” I know Haliegh is still alive” because the Dogs have not found her body. All of this is key information.
When Ron and Misty appeared on the Today Show His arms were crossed and his legs shaking. Misty kept holding her head down and when they talked both of them looked down and to the left. Classic signs of someone that is Lying. They had gotten Married the day before and they were supposed to be a loving couple but they were not holding hands nothing they seemed like Brother and Sister sitting there.
Another key phrase Misty and Daddy got married just like you wanted. What’s with that?

Also Ron said that he bought new locks and installed them when he moved in because he did not want anyone to have a key to his home because ” He didn’t want something like this to happen” again got to question that phrase.
He also stated he was the only one with a key to his home Misty did not even have a key. Why would your Girlfriend not have a key to her own home.
This home is a 3 bedroom 2 bath Double wide why was the 2 kids sleeping in Daddy and Misty’s bedroom and not in their own rooms?
The first story Misty gave on 2-12 Was Haleigh had gotten up to go to the bathroom and when she did not come back Misty went to look for her. Toilet again 5 feet away from where Haleigh was sleeping.
The next Story Misty said was that she herself had gotten up to go to the bathroom then noticed Haliegh Missing.
Then she said she woke up and Haleigh was missing she searched the whole house then Ron came home and she told him. Then it was she called him on the phone. Then Ron said she was standing in the Front Door and when he asked why she was not in bed she told him. Then Ron said she was calling him as he was pulling in the driveway.

I live in Florida and my son fell asleep on the School Bus and when he got to school he had a red mark on the side of his face. 7 days earlier I had popped him in his mouth for calling me an F’in B but he had gone to school for 5 days no marks I did not slap him I used my fingers and popped his mouth. My son has ADHD and the Teacher did not want him in her class anymore. When he got to school she called DCf and told them to hurry up and come before the mark goes away. They got their and asked him had I hit him. He said she popped me in the mouth like a week ago. They took my kids from school without contacting me so when the bus did not arrive I called the School. The School told me the bus had gotten a late start and they would be home soon. When I got a copy of the alleged abuse report it said my son had and I quote” What seemed to appear to refelct to possibly be a handprint on the side of his face” They kept my kids for 6 months until my atty finally got a deposition with him and asked him did your mom slap you he said no she popped me in my mouth and he told my atty why I had and he said well did anyone else slap you and he said no and then my atty asked well how did your face get so red and my son said because I fell asleep on the school bus. i was made to jump through hoops for a red mark that did not even last an hour. Spent Thousands of Dollars on an atty and Parenting Classes the whole nine yards. Finally the Judge agreed the Children should have never been taken. The DCF worker that took my kids was 23 years old fresh out of College and had only been a Social Worker examining cases on her own for 45 days. Out of 100 Families she went to interrogate suspected abuse she removed 97 kids in 45 days. In the State of Florida the Staue says that you may use Corporal Discipline on your child so long as you Spank them not beat them on their butt and they do not have a mark that lasts longer than 24 hours. I should know they removed my kids again in 2001 because I tried to commit suicide because I was depressed in an abusive relationship and I had no Friends or Family as I had been cut off from them and DCF took my kids even though I worked 3 jobs had an immaculant house that I had lived in for nearly 1 1/2 yrs. My kids were well provided for with clothes, beds, toys the whole nine yards. I had so much food in the houses i had it in boxes stored up in the pantry to refill the pantry. i was not on any Public Assistance nor was I getting Child Supoort from the Bio Dad. Instead of offering me services and helping me to get my kids home they kept making me re do the same Case Plan over and Over again. I always completed what I needed to do but they never conducted home studies, allowed me visits, would not return my calls, at one point they lost my kids in the system for 2 months. Finally again I had to hire an ATTY after 4 1/2 yrs of a State issued Atty that would not call me back and the countless emails letters I wrote to the DCF Secretary the Governor etc… I was on the Front page of the newspaper several times and then poof the next day a visit was made for me to see my kids. They told my kids i did not love them, I had abandoned them and that was why they were not getting visits. They went so far as to try to Terminate my Parental Rights i again spent Thousands of Dollars like 50,000 we had to mortgage the house my new husband and I to pay for it and I won as i was able to prove the State was the ones holding up my case not me. I can not sue the Dept they are Protected against Civil suits under the Child endangerment Laws. I do not defend my actions of trying to kill myself. i was depressed. But this State is wacky on how they handle cases. They take the kids from homes they do not need to be taken from and leave the kids in the homes being abused. It all depends on the worker you have and how Silver Tongued you are with them. I knew a person that had 17 Marijuana Plants and Crack Cocaine taken seized from her home with her Minor Children in the Home. Not a friend a neighbor and the State investigated that home. it was filthy their were roaches everywhere hardly any food in the cabinets and they kept the kids in that home with an abusive alcoholic father in the residence. First of all what is it about Florida and these child preditors? The last was an idiot who travels across country to kidnap a young girl(shawn Johnson) in California. I have watched everything possible on this and good grief, why is this child still missing? I just heard the other night that a judge let another preditor go! You guys need to get on the ball and stop these idiots from taking and killing your kids. I know it happens all over, but as of late, they seem to think it is okay to do it in Florida. It just seems story after story coming from the state. I pray each and every day for the two children still missing there and bless the loving family and friends of the ones that have already lost their lives. It is just heartbreaking that this keeps happening there.
someone please help find this little girl. we seriously do not need another caylee anthony case on our hands. but like a previous person said…something definately does not add up. i think that they need to do some more in depth questioning with the girlfriend. or at least a lie detector. please get this little girl home safely to her daddy.

It has been over 16 minth since Haleigh disappeared and they are no more close to finding Haleigh than at the start of the investigation. The focus of Nancy Grace right now is on the big drug bust where the set up to arrest Misty Croslin and Ronald Cummings is the only focus. As if trhe 160 year possible jail sentences for selling pills has anything to do with Haleigh. The grown man undercover cop wanting to buy oxyconten is only a setup which the real drug dealers, the DEA and the doctors who wrote all the phony subscriptions are the real drug dealers and Ron and Misty were only guilty of being led into a scam and only are guilty of wanting to make money. None of the doctors are even being looked into.
Misty still claims that Haleigh was abducted and this is still a possibility. Knowing that drug dealers were connected to oxycontent dealing from the trailer leads to the possibility that Mexican Drug cartel people chave gone to the trailer and abducted Haileigh. The police and Nancy Grace are so focused on Haleigh Cummings that they completely ignore this and could be allowing a bunch of hearsay stories get in the way of finding her.
