Police Treating Disappearance of Missing Haleigh Cummings as an Abduction … Texas EquuSearch to Help in Search Efforts

5 year old Haleigh Cummings has been missing since Monday night, February 9, 2009 from her father’s mobile home in Satsuma, FL approximately 70 miles north of Orlando. Her father, Ronald Cummings, discovered her missing when he returned home from work at about 3 AM Tuesday morning.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is now treating the disappearance of  Haleigh Cummings as a kidnapping or abduction as they states that the 5 year old did not wander away from home there is no evidence that she was in the area.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Major Gary Bowling says there’s no longer any reason to believe Haleigh wandered away. Bowling says there’s no evidence of Haleigh near her home.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Gary Bowling stated that the police must “assume abduction.  All the answers to why you’d want to take a 5-year-old are ugly.”

Family Releases New Pictures of Haleigh Cummings

I received a phone call last night from Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch that he was in Florida at the request of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to help search for missing Haleigh Cummings. Tim Miller stated that he arrived in Florida on Wednesday and would meet with the Sheriff’s office to map out a plan of action. Florida members of TES will be assembled as well as TES members will drive and fly in to begin search efforts. Tim Miller stated, “we must find this missing girl”.

Something is not right about this, I can feel it and it’s not a good feeling.

God, please watch over this little one & keep her safe.

    2. Brenda from Virginia on February 12th, 2009 9:35 am

A couple observations and what I believe may be misconstrued in the media already.

      1. Reports are floating the 17 yr old was not supposed to be around the missing girl’s family. I do NOT believe this was because the missing girl’s family didn’t want the 17 yr old there, but that the 17 yr old’s parents did not want her with the 24 yr old. JMO. If it WAS because the missing girl’s family didn’t want her there, probably more due to her age.

      2. Questions on NG last night re why the babysitter/girlfriend didn’t wake up. Well, Maddy McCain from UK was snatched up from between her sleeping twin siblings. Jessica Lunsford was taken from her bed…as was Jon Bonet. Now, this 17 yr old girl was not the mom and did NOT have those built in instincts of feeling the child being pulled away…that comfort zone between mom and child interrupted.

      3. Possible she had left the kids alone, put the brick there to smoke a cigarette, or possibly something else…and didn’t want to admit she was gone long enough for someone to do this. When she tried to come back in, there was the blanket and she got scared and simply waited for BF to get home.

      4. I did hear the girl’s voice on 911 and it was shaking badly. So whatever happened…even if she did do something…she is highly emotional about it. This being said, IF she holds any responsibility, MUCH easier to get info out of such a person. I do feel she is holding back, but more of the fact she was negligent and left the residence entirely for a time.

I dont understand how she just disappears into thin air. i hope and pray she is alright.

#1- I agree with you…..feeling the same thing.

God, please help Tim Miller & his team bring this child back.

Why is it that there are so many missing children cases in Florida? I know they are everywhere–so many we don’t even hear about…but what it is with this State particularly?

    5. Gigi on February 12th, 2009 10:00 am

I agree with you, Michelle. Haleigh’s father was on Nancy Grace last nite. He has taken and passed a polygraph test. The sheriff said this morning that the girlfriend, Misty, has also been interviewed and taken a polygraph test but he would not comment on the results. Something doesn’t sound right with her story. How could she sleep through someone coming into the house and removing a child from the bed in which you are all sleeping?? The only thing that I can say is that the family of this missing child is acting like anyone would in such a time of crisis. When you compare this family’s reaction to that of Caylee Anthony, it is a stark reminder of how truly unconcerned Casey and her family were and are. What is with these nutbags in Florida? Why are there so many sex offenders in that state??

    6. Richard on February 12th, 2009 10:04 am

Don’t you get the feeling that whoever did this was/were friends … well, that’s not the right word … knew the family? They had to have known the layout of the trailer and that the little girl was there, I would think.

      Let’s not give up hope.

    7. Richard on February 12th, 2009 10:08 am

Brenda from Virginia (#2) mentions Jessica Lunsford.

We should remember that it was a neighbor who took her … and that all during her captivity, she was just about across the street from her home.

It’s just too disturbing to talk about … but I hope to God that the police down there will search every possible lead, and not take any crap from anyone about objecting to a search.

My suggestion: if anyone there DOES object to a search, the local newspapers should publish their names and photos on the front page. That way (as I said before), people will know who to spit on in the street.

    8. Greg on February 12th, 2009 10:43 am

Where is the biological mother? Who is the mother? The 17 year old in house? Why was she left with the 17 year old? Who had custody? The Father or Mother?

    9. Ellie on February 12th, 2009 11:21 am

It was good to hear Tim an TES are going to be helping out due to the sheriff dept asking for her help.

Now if LP would just go home things could focus on what’s really important Haleigh and not some bs publicity for a bountyhunter.

    10. scott on February 12th, 2009 11:57 am

I betting the girlfriend did it. How can you be sleeping so closely to someone and NOT know they are gone. The police gave her a lie detector and are NOT releasing whether she passed or not. Seems to me they know something we don’t!

    11. Gigi on February 12th, 2009 12:03 pm

Richard: i’m with you on the spitting suggestion. from what i have read and seen on tv, the parents of haleigh are separated. the father lives with his 17 year old girlfriend, misty. she was at home with the children as the father works nites. the girlfriend, haleigh and a 4 year old male child were all sleeping in the same bed. the girlfriend said she got up at 3:00 to go to the bathroom and when she came back, haleigh was not in the bed. it is unclear from what the sheriff said about whether the girlfriend checked the bed before she used the bathroom. the sheriff said a polygraph and intensive interviews had been conducted with the girlfriend and they were not talking about the results. the father has passed a polygraph and other family members have also taken the polygraph test. they are leaving no stone unturned.

    12. Brenda from Virginia on February 12th, 2009 12:35 pm

First thing I see (just remembered) is LE cannot say anything about the girlfriend’s results being she is a minor, so we certainly cannot relay on a “no comment” to mean anything so early.

Had a notion maybe this young girlfriend tried to punish the girl by putting her outside for a time and went back to let her in and she was gone/snatched. Worse, maybe she put her out and did this and fell asleep? Girl wandered around the house crying until someone saw her…

If the GF knew the little girl was afraid of outside and dark, maybe she was angry enough to force this punishment on her knowing that. I hope I am completely wrong, but for now it’s the only scenario I can come up with that the GF would be involved other than if she had gone out and left the brick there herself to get back in and someone snuck in during that time.

      My mind races with ideas.

    13. Taxes101 on February 12th, 2009 1:06 pm

I’m trying to figure out the age of the young son. It has been reported as 2,3, & 4. Which is it? The older the child, the better he will be at communicating and maybe he might be able to answer simple questions from either “Dad” or police about what goes on at the house while the Dad is working? Maybe the girlfriend has something to hide that the 4 year old could reveal. 2&3 yrs old..not so much.

    14. Taxes101 on February 12th, 2009 1:09 pm

The same question is true of the girlfriend..the question of her actual age. Is she 17 or is she 19. Her Myspace indicates 19. In that case, she is not a minor and the suggestion that her results are being withheld due to her status as a minor would not hold true. Anyone have any factual information as to the true ages of all these people? Dad,Girlfriend & young son?

    15. Greg on February 12th, 2009 1:16 pm

      Dear Orlando Parents,

My best guess is a cluster of pedophiles have moved into the Orlando area.
I would suggest any parent of a young child in Orlando Florida area to move to another location.
Research needs to be done on how many pedophiles per square miles in Orlando compared to other cities.

    16. lmb1013 on February 12th, 2009 1:18 pm

My 4 year old falls asleep in my bed all the time because his daddy works late, and I like having him close to me when my husband is gone. When my husband gets home from work, he picks our son up and puts him in his bed in his bedroom. 9 times out of 10 I never wake up when he does that. I don’t hear him pick him up and move him into his bedroom. 9 times out of 10 our son doesn’t even wake up when he does that.

I can understand how the girlfriend didn’t wake up if someone came in and took the little girl. I’m not going to blame this woman for anything until I have proof of it.

    17. Rusty Bridges on February 12th, 2009 1:28 pm

Florida is under a microscope. There is a missing 3 yo boy in Arkansas. Gone missing on the same day.

    18. Gigi on February 12th, 2009 1:30 pm

The reporter on the scene said this morning that the male child would be 4 this week-end. i am sure you are right, brenda, about information concerning the girlfriend to be protected as she is a minor. The father has been reported as being 25 years old and the mother of the child has been reported to be 23. Frankly, i am wondering why he was living with such a young girl and leaving her to be responsible for two young children while he works nights. he said on nancy grace last nite that they never use the back door, that there is a handicapped ramp there that he has used twice to bring out the vacuum to clean out his car. he said the door is always locked so i wonder how anyone could get into the door without making noise or leaving evidence of a break in.

    19. Gigi on February 12th, 2009 1:33 pm

i agree with #16, if you are a heavy sleeper, you could sleep right thru someone in the room, making no noise. perhaps the intruder put his hand over haleigh’s mouth to stifle any noise she would make. i’m wondering if someone was watching the house or the child and knew their habits. it truly scares me as i have a granddaughter who is almost 3 and i worry about her safety.

    20. Brenda from Virginia on February 12th, 2009 1:52 pm

Dear #16, yes, but the sound of your husband is an “comfort”. I am willing to bet if a stranger came in there and tried to move your son, you’d sense it in your sleep.

I feel if this girl is innocent of everything and most likely is in the end (my scenarios above were only that IF she were involved), the baby was probably no there when she got out of bed, but she noticed when she came back…and not being the real mother, she doesn’t have the “ties” physically or emotionally we have with our kids and possibly wouldn’t have felt the difference of the girl being gone.

For example, when I get home from work and my kids had gotten off the bus, if I walked into the house and they weren’t there..I could “tell” without calling to them. Even if they weren’t speaking and I cannot describe it any better. If it wasn’t my kids, maybe that connection wouldn’t exists.

NO matter, this 17 hr old is scared out of her mind. Almost a baby herself.

    21. Maggie on February 12th, 2009 1:58 pm

44ish ..sex offenders living in a 5 mile radius.. unreal.. Not sure… about the 17 year old, but the little girl’s dad on tv last night said she in no way had nothing to do with his daughter’s disappearance. He didn’t want to divulge details of why he won custody away from the mother, since she was 2, other than to say he was the more fit and able to provide for her.. He said he didn’t want to embarrass the real mother, by saying why.
The father also mentioned the back door being pried open with something.was still standing open. When will the courts ever wake up and do something with child molesters instead of putting them right back out around children.. When you think about it, it’s totally stupid. No cure for them. We put dogs that bite to sleep..and let child molesters keep on offending.. Even if it wasn’t one of the 44ish..44 in a 5 mile radius..what a joke.. And now another little girl’s life and another family..

    22. Brenda from Virginia on February 12th, 2009 2:16 pm

      Maggie,

Go to your state police website and do a search on your zip code for registered sex offenders (SOR in Virginia). You will not be pleased.

As for the back door being pried open, my husband does framing for a living. Spec and custom homes. When locked out of a job, he has NO problem getting in to do his job. Mind you, these are empty and normally yet to be sold new construction…we’re not B&Eing or anything like that, but my fav way is get in is using a credit card. Most locks on the spec homes are lesser quality and trailer sadly don’t have high quality locks. It’s easy to jimmy the card in to pry open the part that goes into the door jam. That way in intruder would have left no marks other than a finger print if no gloves.

I would not recommend using this method of entering any home other than your own…or one your have business in that won’t land you in jail!!!!

    23. Brenda from Virginia on February 12th, 2009 2:18 pm

Oh and by the way…ALWAYS put the little bolt pin in your sliding glass doors if you have a trailer or older door (5 yrs or more). Those are easily opened without that bolt in many cases….I know….

    24. angel on February 12th, 2009 3:37 pm

Have you seen the movie taken? It could be similar to that. In other countries they have child prostitution rings, I konw we don’t want to think abou this, but this is reality, this really goes on. Florida is such easy access when it come to open borders, there are som any illegal immigrants in the state. The St. Johns River flows north straight into the Atlantic Ocean, their backyard was the St. Johns River and the bloodhounds lost this girls scent at the river. Someone could have taken her, and with this many days gone, they could be in another country with her. There is a lot of child porn rings, and wierd child predators there, stay away from FL.

    25. lmb1013 on February 12th, 2009 3:58 pm

#20, I am willing to bet that the lack of noise or “Comfort noise” that my husband makes when he’s trying to be quiet and move our son from our room to his room will be no different then the lack of noise a stranger would try to make in my house trying to abduct my son. And, that’s only IF the stranger is really careful not to hit anything or bump into anything since he shouldn’t be familiar with the house or room.

I am a heavy sleeper and so is my husband, which is why we never co-slept with our son in the bed with us when he was an infant. I’ve heard to many horror stories about that.

The little girl might not have been in the bed with her when she got up to go to the bathroom, I’m sure she would have noticed that she was gone when she got back. That’s probably when I would have noticed too.

I agree that there are those “ties” when your dealing with your own children. But, I’m a mother of a four year old that sleep walks all the time, and most the time I don’t realize he’s gotten out of bed until he starts crying in another room or the worse part was when we heard him crying OUTSIDE after he unlocked the door and went outside by himself while he was sleep walking (since then we’ve installed locks at the top of the doors and an alarm system)

I guess what I’m trying to say is, she could have slept through someone taking that child out of the house, and I don’t doubt she did. I don’t think that her not having those “ties” had anything to do with someone taking that baby. We live in a world where people do walk into other people’s homes and take babies from their beds or homes. It could happen to anyone.

    26. lmb1013 on February 12th, 2009 4:00 pm

I’m also willing to bet that whoever took this baby knew that her daddy, the one person that they had to worry about, worked late hours. I’m sure they had watched the house.

I sure hope they find that little girl.

Godspeed Tim Miller and TES! Please bring Haleigh back safely :-)

Can you all believe that George Anthony has gotten involved in Haleigh’s disappearance? I suppose this could be therapeutic for him…

Leonard Padilla has offered a $25,000 reward and is also out searching.

    28. Gigi on February 12th, 2009 5:04 pm

Maybe George Anthony will finally see how a family acts when a real abduction has taken place. Maybe this will be the tip-off he finally needs to realize how many lies Casey is/has told. I hope and pray that this child is brought back home safely and without harm. All the searchers and helpers need to keep looking. I can’t believe all the missing children……….how awful.

      Red flag #1 -

      17 yr old girlfriend says:

      > I LOVED her like she was my own.

      past tense

    31. Maggie on February 12th, 2009 7:33 pm

I will be the first one to say I am a bit suspicious of the 17 year old female taking care of the kids..but I’m not ready to say she absolutely did something to the child.. Some things about seem a bit suspicious..like the back door propped open, kitchen light on..What person would stop to do that when they are kidnapping a child. Perhaps an accident happened.., nothing surprises me much anymore(and I know as soon as I say that, something will).. The father I believe is completely innocent.to me.. He looks so distraught. I heard tonight the 17 year old has been given 2 polygraphs.. Apparently the little girl wasn’t in bed with her, but in another bed close to her. Could be someone who has been watching the house, knowing the father worked nights..could be someone they know as a friend. God Speed to Tim Miller.. and his group. I so hope they find her alive, but I thinking that won’t be the case.

    32. Gigi on February 12th, 2009 8:20 pm

I’m concerned about the judgment of a 25 year old man who is dating a 17 year old girl and leaving his two small children in her care while he is working nights. How could the court have awarded him custody if the 17 year old is the primary caretaker when the father is at work? also, the mother of the child told nancy grace tonite that the father told her that if haleigh missed any more school days, he would be sent to jail. so, apparently someone is not looking after the child and her whereabouts closely enough to see that she is getting to school on a regular basis. also, the 17 year old did refer to having LOVED the child, in the past tense, and this really concerns me. i think the 17 year old girl may have put the kids to bed and then gone out, coming home herself about 3:00 (in time to beat the father home so he would not know she was out) and found the child missing. what 17 year old girls wants to stay home every nite and babysit while her boyfriend is working? something is very suspicious and just like the Anthonys, what else is/was going on in this house prior to the abduction?

    33. Starfish on February 12th, 2009 8:57 pm

I agree I think something does not feel right about the 17 year old girlfriend.
I suspect she eitherlet someone into the house or she left the kids alone and came back to find them gone.

    34. Richard on February 12th, 2009 9:09 pm

Is it possible that the abductor was someone the family knew and trusted? It certainly seems that the person knew his/her/their way around the house.

It might also make sense that this little girl would feel more confident with someone she knew. Or, perhaps, would open the door to such a person, or go outside with him/her/them?

But on this point, I will defer to those here who are parents and know better than I do how kids of this age might react.

    35. Richard on February 12th, 2009 9:11 pm

No sane person wants to think about this, but I’ve read that most rapes are committed by someone known to the victim.

I have no idea if the same is true with child abusers … and don’t want to know … but it’s something that should be kept in mind.

    36. Katie on February 12th, 2009 10:51 pm

Something hasn’t felt right about this case since the beginning. I unually have a feeling about these things and they usually prove to be right. I am a very investigative type and full of questions here, like did the 17 year old have a car there, how long has she been dating the father, did she keep the kids before dating him or did he fall for her while she was doing that all of which have something to do with what could have happened to this child. Something doesn’t fit about the girlfriend and the father being 25 & 17 and also just the way they act. Someone get that other child and talk to him alone a trined person that knows what to look for. Ask questions aobut not just that night but the past nights and about there history with father, mother, girlfriend, and all who came and went. There is sooooooooooooooo much here not answered and still in question. Klas you are right on track on this one if I can research or help you let me know. I am free and willing you have my address. Cause I am doing it anyway my friend! lol

    37. Katie on February 12th, 2009 10:53 pm

      http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,491485,00.html

Ronald Cummings, told FOX News’ Greta Van Susteren that Croslin was watching his daughter while he was at work as a crane operator.

According to Cummings, Haleigh had gotten up to use the bathroom. When she didn’t return, Croslin went to look for her and noticed the back door was open.

lmb1013, I had 2 male cousins that would sleepwalk and did until they were teenagers. It was a family curiosity for the rest of us cousins. Once one of them actually did get out of the house and woke up under the tree in the front yard in the morning…and Uncle Paul put bolts at the top of the exterior doors (inside) so that they couldn’t just open the door from inside so easily.

One thing i read this morning is the girlfriend says she was doing laundry which can easily be verified. If so, that would explain fully how any noise by in intruder could be masked by the washing machine or dryer. Also, the fact someone may have been watching the home as John Couey did when abducting Jessica Lunsford (who also had a dog that didn’t bark), and the children (boy & girl) abducted in Utah where that man killed the mom, boyfriend, and older brother in order to take them…had been watching with night vision glasses after choosing them after seeing them playing while driving by the home one day.

      Yes, unsafe world.

i live in florida about 2 hrs. from where the little girl disappeared, local news is reporting that the girlfriend & the father have only been together for 5 months, she has given conflicting reports to where the child was sleeping, 1st it was in the same bed as she & the little brother who will 4 this weekend and then she said that the little girl was in her own bed but in the same room as she & the little brother slept. i find it strange that the father has custody of both children, florida is an exceptionally tough state for a father to get custody and the mother lives in georgia and only sees the children every other weekend.

The news reported that George met with the Cummings family to offer his support because of the abduction and said he went through the same thing…Caylee was never abducted, she was murdered by Casey…I think the Anthony’s have known for a very time what happened to Caylee, George could figure that out by being a homicide detective…Cindy probably told him to keep his mouth SHUT…and he did. Who knows maybe Cindy has something hanging over his head…if George didn’t go along with this Cindy would have thrown him out of house with nowhere to go and then he would of looked like a suspect.

Dee…I’ve taken 2 because I failed the 1st miserably. After failing all questions (again) on #2…INCLUDING my correct name and address, I was told I am one of those who “cannot pass one” and should not take one again.

I asked why and he replied with “how do you feel about taking the test?” I told him it disgusted me that a machine was to decide if I was being truthful rather than my own word which I feel is an extremely important thing for anyone to be honest about. He said, “there you go.” Your emotions about the test are reflecting in your answers. Oh well, the other girl with me passed and told me she lied through her teeth. Nice, huh?

One of the most disturbing things I noticed last nite on Nancy Grace: when Misty (the girlfriend) was talking on camera about Haleigh, she either had her eyes closed or was looking down at the ground, like she was hiding from the camera. That behavior really bothers me. It seems like this family is from a low socio-economic class with poor communication skills. I don’t understand why the police haven’t interviewed the 4 year old male child. Perhaps they have and we don’t know about the results. My sense is that a 17 year old girl wants to be out with her friends, not babysitting two children every nite. I wonder if she went out with friends after the kids went to sleep and she propped the back door open and left the kitchen light on to make it easier to sneak back in without waking the kids. Coming home by 3:00 would mean that she was back before the father got home from work at 3:30. She said she tried calling him on the cell phone before calling 911 after the father was home. Surely there are cell phone records to verify that. I don’t like the smell of this case. Already, it seems like someone very close to the child may have done something to make it easy for the child to be missing. Isn’t it statutory rape for a 25 year old man to be dating a 17 year old girl? What do Misty’s parents think of this relationship? As a parent, I would be very upset about that aspect of it.

Brenda, I know those exams can read wrong….why did you take two? hmmm j/k :-)

These cases just strike a nerve with me. When I was young I baby sat a little girl Annie Hoskinson (spelling?) in SLC, UT and she was kidnapped and murdered and this just brings back those horrible nightmares. It was a neighbeor 14 who took her assulted her and left her in an abandon house…she was maybe 3-4 makes me sick.

I will never understand this…these cases like this make me enraged I have 3 children whom I love more then life itself and to think that someone could harm a child is unreal to me….

so if I get a little off task that is why, if I seem a little to dramatic it is because I have seen this nightmare in my own life in more ways then one.

I am going to share my story on here which is very difficult to share but I will.

In 1995 my own brother kidnapped 3 children and abused them, he was living with my mother at the time as was I, I came home from work to find 3 children hidden in my mothers house 3-5-6 years old. I called the police and turned my brother in, he is serving 3 life sentences for this.. This nightmare haunts me to this day, the look on those childrens faces never leaves me, I know if I didnt come home when I did and I had not called the police this situation would have turned deadly in time…and I thank God ever day that he sent me there to find them…and not someone else who might have turned a blinds eye.

I love my brother for the beautiful child he was when he was little but the monster he is now i hate. I will do everything in my power to stop him from ever being released…

So these cases hit me hard I don’t understand…

for those of you who want to say something nasty in response to my post please think twice….

being a victim (witness) in something like this is unbearable.

George was on camera and said this family does not need to be judged or scrutinized, period. I think George needs to go home and not cause any trouble. The investigation needs to be scrutinized George. We know you don’t like investigation which includes, inspecting, probing, analyzing, examining carefully, etc and that is why Tim Miller works with the police department. George just sounds off because of Casey…he needs to take his problems back to the mental ward and not inflict them on someone else…the family certainly doesn’t need any advice from him…

    53. Carpe on February 13th, 2009 12:40 pm

I think Ron had to help Misty get through the interview a little. She had a bit of a problem judging distances, among many other things. Ya know, 3 – 4 inches was the alleged amount of distance from the TV to the bed… that’s roughly the equivalent to the width of two chairs pushed together!!!?

      KA-BOING!

    54. Maggie on February 13th, 2009 1:02 pm

I watched this on Greta last night..father and his gf were on.. I don’t believe the father had anything to do with what happened to his daughter. The girl didn’t seem as straight forward. However that could be because she’s 17 and so much media on her.. When asked about the polygraph he said he was told he passed and she kind of dodged it and then said she passed too. I don’t think the 17 year old changed her story about Haleigh’s sleep arrangements. My understanding was she said..Haleigh was sleeping close to her and she was but not in the same bed. I think she said about 3 feet away in another bed in the room. Perhaps whoever propped the door open so they could grab the child and run out..but that sounds odd about propping the door open and turning the light on.. Real bold of whoever and had to know the father wasn’t home, because the father told them on the 911 call if he found who had her before the cops came, he would kill them. Greta was showing a statement that the cops said it wasn’t a forced entry, however the father says they must of picked the lock or whatever because he had the door lock on and a lock at the top of the door fastened. He said he fastened it before he went to work and yet it was propped open later. Maybe this girl was next door or close by at a friends. It was a trailer park and someone came in..nooo clue.. really not enough info and some stations are posting conflicting info. Just have the feeling this is someone that knows them, has been watching and knows the father isn’t home nights. Like the Elizabeth Smart case..cut the screen by the kitchen sink crawled in the window, went upstairs and took Elizabeth with about 9? people up there..

Dee, I was 19 yrs old, just married and already pregnant…not doing any drugs or drinking…and trying to get full-time at my temp job. The test was so I could gain full-time status. Even the manager at the bank said it was “obvious” the test was not correct and although I did not go permenant…they let me stay until I was ready to deliver my daughter.

By the way…what was your little “hmmmm” for? You the type that is used to lying and getting away with it? That way you had the nerve to question my honesty? Your typical response is why lie detectors mean no more to me than the promise of a liberal socialist running for political office.

Dee…I’m sorry…did not notice the just kidding until later. As you can see, although I am now almost 45 yrs old and this happened when I was 19, it haunts me to this day.

Truly, if I was ever asked to take one, I’d request a “special” one where they literally scan your brain rather than heart rate. I’d be willing to take one of those as I’ve heard they are nearly impossible to fool and measure response differently.

HALEIGH’S PARENTS INVOLVED IN BITTER CUSTODY BATTLE

Eyewitness News obtained court records that show Haleigh’s parents were involved in a bitter custody battle trading nasty accusations about drugs and violence.

WFTV found out that Ronald Cummings has been arrested several times on drug charges, but was not convicted.

Three years ago, Haleigh’s mother took her and her young brother away from their father even though he had custody. Ronald went to court to get them back.

Ronald Cummings: “they better bring f’ing something out here- because if I get my hands on that mother f’er I’m going to kill him…I don’t give a f%*)@# about prison…mother F’ing prison doesn’t scare me.”

I still say there is something that doesn’t pass the sniff test. I really think the girlfriend was not in the home at the time the abduction took place. I just saw in the Orlando Sentinel that the police have found some items of interest and are pursuing those leads. Anyone know what that is??

    62. Carpe on February 13th, 2009 5:53 pm

      http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,492425,00.html

Cummings said Croslin was awake and frantic after she found Haleigh was gone. But in the police report, obtained by FOX News, Cummings reportedly told officers that his “dumb bitch girlfriend” told him Haleigh was gone when he got home from work.

Police had never been called to the home in the past, but there have been prior problems with Cummings, Croslin and Haleigh and her 3-year-old brother Junior, according to Putnam County Capt. Steve Rose.

“There have been some investigations done through the department of children and family,” Rose told FOX News. He didn’t elaborate.

John Harrell, spokesman for the northeast region of the Florida Department of Children and Families, said Thursday that his agency “was involved with the family.” He wouldn’t offer any details, citing state confidentiality laws.

George Anthony makes me sick and I agree with both of you. He stated the following in reference to the search for Haleigh:

“They need to be in support of each other. They need to be there no matter what. They need to be out there when things get tough, and there are tough days. There’s tough hours. There’s tough minutes. They need to know they can reach out to me, to Josh (Duckett), to my wife Cindy, to my son, to other families that understand. We’ve become members of a unique club, and that unique club is there to help you,” said George Anthony.

      *************************************************

“Unique Club”?? What the f*** is George talking about? Being related to a murder victim, especially a murder victim at the hands of your own daughter, makes you a MEMBER OF A UNIQUE CLUB!!! George needs the dog poop slapped out of him!! He makes me sick!!

      #50- Dear Dee:

Just want to say on behalf of all Monkeys here- we are so happy to have your presence. If I weren’t sitting across from a computer screen right now, I would reach out and give you the biggest hug I could and even lots of love to a complete stranger on Valentine’s Day.

Thank you for sharing your story, we feel your pain even though many of us may have never have lived through the experience you have.

Can’t really explain either why so many of us are so passionate about this site and it’s cause….I am sure it is simply because no real human being with a heart can stand these stories when a child’s life is at stake.

Thank you again for being who you are and doing what you have done. Never give up hope that one day this bad memory will no longer torment you. Always know inside that you have done the right thing and there are 3 people alive today, because of you, who stand proof positive that good over evil always wins in the end.

Has anybody seen the actual Police report or any reports yet? Has the Police contacted the owners of the trailor and asked them when is the last time the locks have been changed? I mean how many keys could be out there if the locks have not or never been changed on this trailor. Was the front door lock? I herd nothing about the front door yet?

The block holding the back door open. A person who could be as sick to enter someone elses home and steal a child is going to have a well thought out plan and that may even mean killing all or anybody that they have too.

The block could have been placed there for a faster exit in case anybody was chasing them out the door they would have a clear shot and not slowed by a door. Plus doors make noise.

I just hope this girl is alive and brought home soon. Yes I agree George Anthony needs to go home and stay out of this…

Thanks NewGirl, that is really sweet, it is hard to talk about that day, but it is good medicine when I can share and gather strentgh..

To me that day was like yesterday and when I see stories like the ones here I get attached quickly I want to know the why and the how things like this happen…

I love to see the bad guy go down…. unfortunatley bad guys go down because of something they have done to the good guy…I will always fight for the good guys especialy the youngest of the good guys. They need our protection.

#69- You’re most welcome. And I am right there with you, Sister—-Let’s bring down these evil perpertrators…..& maternal murderes like Casey Anthony.

On a sidenote—for George Anthony to label himself as in a “unique” or “special” group though, gut wrenching. Please, George—the only unique place you are in is that your Daughter murdered your Grandaughter, your wife is loony, you are both in denial and your Son gives everyone the creeps. Caylee Marie was the only special one in the bunch, and most of us truly believe she is in a better place now…THANKS TO THE INABILITY OF HER OWN GRANDPARENTS TO PROTECT HER & HER OWN GRANDMOTHER WHO USED HER AS A PAWN TO GET BACK AT CASEY, THE INEPT MOTHER!! No one feels a bond with you, George or Cindy. Find a new group of people to showboat your self-serving grief to…not many here are interested.

I have cried for this little girl everytime I’ve read updates and watched videos about everything going on. This is the most horrible thing that can happen to a child, to have had done whatever it is that has been done to her. I so much wish that I had the ability to leave my home and travel to Putnam to help search. It tears my heart apart to see this unfolding. I have three children myself, two girls and a boy, and I can’t even phathom what this does to the family. I do though, think that the dad and girlfriend have something to do with this. There are too many inconsistencies in their interviews and a lock smith? give me a damn break! These people are so screwed up! I hope that they do find little Haleigh, and that the dad is right that the “trash is going to be taken out” but I believe that it’ll be him and the girlfriend.

Looking back at the interview with the BIO mom, I now think how odd she acted. Hardly any emotion. Then I thought that maybe thats just the way she was. But, alot of those folks interviewed, have very little facial expression, put that with the way they reacted in the interview with the crew, and it puts a whole new light on the matter. Maybe she DOES have the child. It’s like she was holding back, out of fear of saying something incriminating re; Haleighs wherabouts . Does that make any sense to anybody? Or am I thinking too much? In fact, she could be in cahoots with Misty, after all, the Bio mom knew he would be at work. Maybe she and Misty were comiserating, and thats how it started? thinking too much again?

Watched O’Reilly last night. There was a body language expert,Tonya Reiman, on who noticed inconsistancies in fathers interview with Gerlado Rivira. For instance, when asked if father (Ronald) hit his daughter he said “never, ever have I ever hit my child”, yet, he nodded his head as if he said yes. The body language expert also claimed held chin up as if in defiance, and leaning foward. She performed the analysis while keeping in mind that he was confronted with many things, and on the defence. She said Geraldo’s interview with Halieghs mother, Crystal Sheffield, looked more convencing in that when asked about abuse and why she stayed with him and her mentioning she was scared lip was puckered out as if to indicate shame. The body language expert said that if at trial she would take the mother’s word as more credible between the two interviews(Haleighs mother and father) that where analyzed on Geraldo At Large last weekend. Could not find video or transcripts from the O’Reilly Factor last night about the body language, so this is on my own recolection. Regarding the Geraldo interview with the father, I am not the biggest Geraldo fan but I give him credit. The man is very brave. Their where many big men in the backround there that looked like they where about to beat on him for the questions he was asking the dad, who looked like he was about to pounce on Geraldo as well. Geraldo was basing his questions off of information that was told to him, but the family of Haleighs father was not liking it too much.

I am wondering if Misty has a key to the trailer. Maybe she laid down with the kids to get them to go to sleep and like a lot of 17 year olds went off with some dude to get high thinking she would be right back (leaving a brick to keep the door ajar.) When she got back the girl was gone. She may not want Ron to know she was out and is keeping it quiet like she was sleeping the whole time.

    82. Jamie on August 28th, 2009 7:20 am

Let’s keep this little girl in our thoughts…just one question, if the 17 year old had something to do with it, where is the body? The girlfriend only had enough time to get rid of her…
