Will the real Todd Black please stand up. Or should we just say Gil Cabot.
So the MSM has finally gotten around to investigating who the real Todd Black is. It is about time they got around to looking into the background of the Jose Baez spokesman. However, everyone might want to take a closer look as to who was really on the fore front of this investigative story.
Todd Black, not his real name, has been referred to over and over as the spokesman for the for Attorney Jose Baez and the Casey Anthony defense legal team. Previously, Todd Black has stated that he would not give his real name, hmm. Who has ever heard of a public figure like a media spokesperson not using their real name? Would tend to seem to fly in the face of ethics and credibility.

Using fake identities raises some serious ethical issues, according to public-relations consultants such as Margaret “Marti” Mackenzie, who works for attorneys.
“To use a fictitious name flies in the face of creating a trusting and ethical relationship with the media,” said Mackenzie, author of “Courting the Media: Public Relations for the Accused and the Accuser.” ”And for anybody in the media, frankly, who covers the statements released knowing this person’s rather charlatan behavior, I consider that also to be unethical.”
The Orlando Sentinel and WFTV are both finally reporting that Todd Black appears to really be Gil Cabot. The Orlando Sentinel reported that a former FBI agent who investigated Cabot in the late 1980s told the Sentinel he thinks Black’s voice sounds the same as Cabot’s on recordings he listened to. Gil Cabot has quite the past as he was convicted of attempting to extort $30,000 from television journalist Jann Carl.
When a Sentinel reporter pressed Black on Thursday for more information on his identity, Black said the newspaper was wasting its time.
“It is an absolute lie that I am Gil Cabot,” Black said
Black, who operates under the corporate banner of Press Corps Media, has declined all requests to be interviewed in person. But he has said that the parent company of Press Corps Media, Arrested Media, was founded by Cabot.
Even Yogi Berra comments that “It is like deja vu all over again”.
Why does all of this sound so familiar? Yogi Berra would say “It is like deja vu all over again”. Where have I heard that Todd Black was Gil Cabot? Some news organizations may want to go back and take a good look at their notes.
WFTV is reporting that they have solved the mystery surrounding the phantom PR man for the Casey Anthony defense team. WFTV states Todd Black is really Gil Cabot. Did WFTV really solve this mystery … because it sounds an awful lot like a two part series that Blink34 and Scared Monkeys recently posted. Interestingly enough all of the same detail is referenced in the Blink34 article regarding Todd Black, Gil Cabot and his past associations. Hmm.

However, according to Todd Black/Gil Cabot is a press release … “It simply DOES NOT MATTER.” Many would bed to differ with you Gil.
UPDATE I: Gil Cabot is a Tampa native and graduate of Hillsborough High School. He started out as a DJ and got involved in the music business before he got into trouble.

They both had this article and research file, of which 5 other researchers worked on, in October 2008. If they choose not to update their sources publicly, I will be glad to post those email exchanges

Didn’t I see something from Blink’s team posted on a radio website back in October? More than a few hatefully clueless bloggers chastised the team for falsely claiming that Todd Black was Gil Cabot. One even interviewed ‘Todd Black’ by phone and proclaimed Todd Black to be simply Todd Black, a poor victim of Blink’s group of clueless bored housewives. I guess the BS really is BS.
If it took this long for WFTV and the OS to ‘solve’ this non-mystery on their own and call it news, they are just the sort of clueless folks Jose B is hoping to seat on his jury.
Gee, I wonder where Kathi B got her big scoop on KidFinders and the Milsteads. Care to guess?

The WFTV piece you linked to questions who the new person is, and if that person was seen-it was not Todd Black. The issues raised by Mr. Black in this link had more to do with the poor quality of his media releases, and whether or not the COMPANY was legit.

That is quite different from establishing the fact that Todd Black and Gil Cabot are the same person.
I can assure you-as can Blink-that the Monsters report, which featured Blink’s copyrighted investigative piece was the first to make and substantiate that connection.

sorry im at work so i cant answer. ill find everything when i get home. the reason i remembered this is because when they connected the companies (which is what prompted the threat to sue)… i started lurking online, google, people finder stuff etc. i saw a lot of what you had. their story is what made me look though. it looks like they have a different site that im having trouble navigating through though. im not trashing anyone, im just glad hes out. just thought id chime in.

Melissa B, respectfully, that is inaccurrate. I know because I PERSONALLY gave Rozz Franco the article on monster, and Kathi B on 10/22, where we corresponded at length on it’s contents. I can verify for you unequivocally and without reservation, that the “outing” of Todd Black came from me and 5 researchers in a copyrighted piece and prior to that, their is not a single “original theory” resulting in that connection anywhere. That article was the basis for all news outlets pursuing Todd Black as Gil Cabot. I agree that anyone that can google knew his companies were “askew” and that was reported on in September and was the basis for starting our investigation. Difference is we finished it with an actual finding, our intellectual property if you will…
Lastly, the article was presented to the press with a download link only, so I can tell you exactly who downloaded it and when, that is exactly why it was done that way.

Respectfully, the threat to sue came about when people began doubting the legitimacy of the COMPANY Todd Black stated he owned-you know, the one with the Nashville address and Mrs. Baez’s phone number. At that time people were researching the COMPANY.
The fact that Gil Cabot and Todd Black are the same person was ‘outed’ when Rozzie ran the piece from Blink’s group on October 30. At that time, Blink and the group received a lot of undeserved grief for publishing what others finally admit has been true all along. I think you are somehow blending the facts of two stories together.
Think about it logically for a moment.
If, as you say, WFTV reported this huge piece of info in September, WHY are they only NOW reporting the TB is really GC as bombshell news that they’ve just uncovered? There is only one answer.

A child has been murdered at the hands of her Mother. The Grandparents & Brother are enablers who have all lied & who have bitten the very hands that tried to help them from the beginning. Based off these posts it appears Blink34 et al had no association with SM’s back in October when they outed Todd Black.

We were very aware of this story in October. We have had conversations all the way back to early October and held this story for reasons to help LE. So once again Yoyo, you would be wrong. I very much agree with the headline. The original TB work was part of a 2 part article here, perhaps you could re-read it to contemplate it’s signifigance. Part of the impact criteria that Red et al and I discuss when deciding what to publish is relevant timing and what if peripherally it has other impact. I say that because perhaps you could be reminded that the community of SM are advocates for justice for a 34 month old baby who ended up in a bag in a bog and people are cashing in on that. That is the driver here, not “credit”. It is wrong, and I want everyone that feels outrage for that to be compelled to do what they can in a productive way.
That being said, read and comment responsibly please. I welcome contradictory opinions, but preferably educated ones.

As one of the 5 others who worked with Blink on the original Todd Black/Gil Cabot piece, why do you assume that the group members are not also members of the SM community?
Guess what? We are-every one of us.
Instead of casting stones, why not simply be appreciative of a community where speaking the truth is valued and advocacy is supported– instead of being relegated to a parking lot?
This has always been-and always will be–about a beautiful 34 month old child who left this world far too soon. Those who were closest to her and entrusted to care for her seem to have forgotten that fact, but WE have not, and will not.

As a contributor to the research for said piece I can confirm that :
1. It was copyrighted
2. IT was placed on line in a down-loadable format for certain people to be able to access. Said file tracks who accessed this info and when.
3. Emails exist that back up the fact that discussions took place with said reporter about the info in this file.
4. A professional always gives the source when they are accessing and using someone else’s copyrighted material.
5. It isn’t about the credit as much as a lack of fair play and professionalism that has seemed to mar this case at every turn.
6. This is about a small little girl who needs a voice. She is speaking to us through her demise to at least do the best by her that we can. That being said, exposing not only her mother and family, but all the circus like characters that have inhabited this case. To bring dignity back to Caylee we need professional people with professional ethics to give us the news. We also need them to follow up and make sure all the foxes are out of the hen house before the trial.
Why..so that by the time we get to trial for this little girl’s life it will be about her and her demise. The charlatans will have been exposed prior to this so that there are no longer any interlopers with much to gain during her trial.
Dignity is the name of the game here.
I would like to request that people email OCSO advising them DO NOT PLACATE CASEY ANTHONY AND HER ATTORNEY to allow visits that are NOT VIDEOTAPED..The OCSO is considering allowing a visit with her parents to be completely private..The other prisoners don’t have that luxury, why show a child killer like Anthony have….
I am not surprised that Casey and the Anthonys are surrounded by liars and media hounds. From the beginning, the drama created by Casey and her family has always taken the spotlight off the real issue: finding Caylee and her murderer. Anything that blink can do is better than what the police and attorneys have done. i sure hope that all of this information that is being put together by blink and others on the comment logs are being read by those in law enforcement and the prosecuting attorneys office. I have little faith in our justice system. Caylee deserves better than what she has gotten.

No Friends Left, Casey Anthony Says She Likes Jail Life According To Fellow Inmates
All of what I am about to write, please take with a grain of salt because these are rumors from people that are locked up at the Orange County Florida jail along with Casey Anthony. Apparently, some of Casey Anthony’s fellow inmates are now telling people on the outside that Casey has said that she has no friends left in the outside world and also that she is now enjoying prison life.
In my opinion, most of this talk is nothing more than hogwash. From my personal observations, Casey Anthony is a narcissistic sociopath that will always need to have fellow human beings that she can control and manipulate.
My opinions is this, if Casey Anthony has made such statements to other inmates at the Orange County Florida jail – her only purpose in making those comments was to further manipulate her family and the general public into believing that she is indeed a victim here just like Caylee. In my view, it is important to think of Casey in terms of what she really is and not what she tries to convince others that she is all about.
