Obama Transition Team Blames New Mexico Gov Bill Richardson for being Misleading about Grand Jury Investigation

A funny thing has happened on the way to the Obama transition to the White House, a second “pay for play” investigation scandal that has touched Obama’s transition to the presidency. New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson has withdrawn his nomination to be President-elect Barack Obama’s commerce secretary amid allegations and a grand jury investigation into how a California company that contributed to Richardson’s political activities won a New Mexico transportation contract worth more than $1 million.

No sooner had Barack Obama released a statement regarding his regret for Richardson’s nomination withdraw, the Obama transition team began slinging arrows at the New Mexico Governor stating that they were misled.

Sources tell ABC News that officials on the Obama Transition Team feel that before he was formally offered the job of commerce secretary, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson was not forthcoming with them about the federal investigation that is looking into whether the governor steered a state contract towards a major financial contributor.

Once the investigation became more widely known through national media reports last month, sources tell ABC News, the Obama Transition Team realized the FBI would not be able to give Richardson a clean political bill of health before the new administration is ready to send his nomination up to the Senate for confirmation.

Obviously the Obama transition team is reading the tea leaves and the fact that this Richardson nomination and nomination withdrawal does not cast a very good light on them. By association, it also cast a questionable decision light on Barack Obama as well. The buck is supposed to stop somewhere. The fact that the Obama transition team continually has brought back former Clinton cast members while promising America change has come back to bite them. Shouldn’t they have known better?

However, once again when a scandal erupts that Barack Obama is associated with, the Obama patented line is … This is not the Bill Richardson I knew.  The same was said for Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, etc.

Don’t tell me that the honeymoon the media usually give a new president is subsiding even before he’s even taken office….

So, if it had been less widely known, but still known, the nomination would not have been questioned?

#1—Wouldn’t that be SPECIAL ? If only it were to be true. Can’t help but being a pessimist when it comes to the MSM and THE CHOSEN ONE.

Anyone seen the news about the INAGURATION EXPRESS Train to DC for the Golden Boy’s Ceremony on Jan. 20th? Give me a break…..talk about this event being overdone!

The Obama team knew there was an investigation. They didn’t become worried until it was more widely known.

I’m more worried about this countries direction than I have ever been in my life. Or should I say “for the first time in my life I’m embarassed to be an..

Not really, just ashamed of some of our gov. officials

all too predictable. the only reason obama nominated richardson was because of some back room deals that were cut during the campaign.

richardson still has explaining to do regarding the busing of hundreds from one polling place to the next to keep the dems in power during close elections in new mexico. the man’s a slime (imo). he’s a loose canon & is only out to further his own personal agenda. definitely not a team player & i thought this is what obama promised voters…

Take heart, folks. The Supreme Court is going to hear Phillip Berg’s case regarding Barry Obama’s status as a ‘natural born’ citizen on the day after the Electoral College Votes are unsealed. I’m still hopeful!

Anyone wonder if all the chestbeating regarding prosecuting Bush & Cheney after Obama gets in office was more a hopeful quid pro quo where Obama and his minions wouldn’t be exposed?

      Blago
      Richardson

Who is next on the corruption party parade?

      All is not lost here!

Zer0bama announced his choice for CIA director, former Clinton coatholder Leon Pannetta. The man has been fully investigated by -0-’s staff internally, and was found to be absolutely and completely bereft of ANY qualifications for the most important security post in the (soon to be former) USA.

On another front, conservative best-selling writer Ann Coulter was banned for life from NBC for not being a media lapdog for Duh 1. Ms Coulter’s spot was replaced by flamer Perez Hilton wearing a Coulter-inspired mini-skirt, believing no one would notice Ann’s absence.

As a result of Nobody But Commies’ action in banning Ms Coulter, it is expected that her latest book “Guilty” will quickly rise to the number 1 spot in the New York Times Best Seller list. Unless of course the NYT fails to get its gubmint bailout, then Pinch Sulzberger’s inherited paper kingdom will go the way of the dodo bird, along with its Best Seller list.

On a personal note, I have a birthday coming up later this month, and hope to receive Ann’s latest liberal-bashing tell-all on that fateful day.

Imagine a hot tub with Obama, Richardson, Blagoyevich,
Wright, Frank, Raines, Dodd, Panetta, Emmanuel, Reid,
Pelosi, Feinstein, Franken, and a few others soaking
in it. This vision suggests government is the CAUSE of
water pollution not the SOLUTION to it.

      #11-You’re most welcome, Sweet-Thang

HRC-Im pretty comfortable w/her new position….Caroline Kennnedy….Don’t even get me going on that one. Jacqueline did a fine job raising both of her children, but I prefer Caroline staying out of the limelight and living her life the way she has been for the past 40plus years. Ted? Yes, I am sorry you have a brain tumor but prior to that—Heaven, Help us! I am not one of those from MASS who adore the Kennedy name since we all know of Ted’s past in particular…. I’m dying to read what you wrote on them both..,you should consider an extra-cirricular career in Freelance writing, Dear Monkey. (No need to blush, you certainly have a gift)

It has also come to light (I believe) that the businessman that Richardson is accused of being tied to was a BIG TIME OBAMA DONOR!

I wonder how BIG TIME since he still has not revealed the $200M in campaign contributions from supposed anonymous donors?

Obama is as dirty as the rest of em.

      Abraham Lincoln once said:

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”
      Abraham Lincoln

I believe we will start to see the true measure of Obama the man come January 20th and I’m going to bet i the long run we will not like who that REAL Obama is.

In respects to Obama’s 300B free welfare checks for those not work, Lincoln would have this to say:

“Property is the fruit of labor…property is desirable…is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.”

      Dumb ass liberals!
