Caylee Anthony: Skeletal Remains and Duct Tape, Duct Tape, Duct Tape and Casey Anthony … Anthony Home Searched, Part 2

Breaking Down the Evidence in the Caylee Anthony case … the presence of duct tape.

Its all about the duct tape … Duct_Tape

The tragic news of the grisly discovery of a child’s skeletal remain that appear to be of missing Caylee Anthony was sad enough to learn. However, the later reporting that the skeletal remains had duct tape on the skull near the mouth area changed the collective mood from sadness to anger. How will the presence of duct tape be a case changer in the case against  indicted tot mom Casey Anthony?

From all accounts and what we have been able to confirm there was the presence of duct tape on the skull of the remains found last Thursday morning in Florida. The significance of the duct tape is extremely important to the case.

Detectives have told Caylee’s mother’s attorney that the body size and hair color of the remains recovered are similar to Caylee’s and the discovery of the child’s skull with duct tape on the mouth is telling a much more gruesome story.

Since some in the media as talk show hosts or pundits cannot grasp the understanding of this evidence, we will explain it. First, use some common sense. What does it mean if investigators found duct tape still attached? It means that it was not something as simple as a small piece of tape being cut to simple cover a child’s mouth to keep Caylee from making a sound if she awoke from being exposed to chloroform. This would dispel the premise that Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla has been putting forth like a broken record for months.

Dispelling the Padilla Duct Tape Theory

Padilla_NG

PADILLA: Chloroform was used to put her to sleep so she could go to her boyfriend`s. And she put the tape across the mouth in case she woke. You don`t want to hear a child screaming out of a trunk of a car. It resulted in death instead of…

Duct_tape_mouth

the above example could never have existed after 6 months of decomposition

Why would such a theory not hold water? Because if duct tape was simply put across the mouth of Caylee Anthony to keep her quiet there is no way that after 6 months of decomposition the duct tape could be attached. However, the fact of the matter is that duct tape was found attached to the skull of the remains found which means one of two things. One, the duct tape was completely wrapped around the entire circumference of the skull. Or two, a large enough piece of duct tape was placed on the face of the child victim that would have attached to the child’s hair that would have caused the duct tape to still be in place 6 months later. The only way that specifically the mouth could have been referenced is if some soft tissue was still present; however, one would hardly believe that a utility worker examined the remains that closely.

That being said the argument has been then why would there have been duct tape found on the skull. Why would such a thing have been done? It could never have been to just merely keep a child quiet for the night while one partied. Reason: why would anyone put duct tape on a little girls hair as it would have been impossible to remove without cutting Caylee’s hair. No one, not even Casey Anthony would have done that to Caylee to simply keep her quiet if she awoke. So why the presence of duct tape?

One, since the Zanny the Nanny was concocted from the outset of this case it is completely believable that Casey Anthony intended to make the death appear to be that of a kidnapping and abduction. After Caylee was expired duct tape could have been attached to the child to provide the appearance that the little girl was kidnapped in case her body was ever found. If this did occur then the question arises, where did the duct tape get put on Caylee? The subsequent search and items removed from the Anthony home following the grisly discovery then makes sense. Why vacuum cleaners, pillow cases, etc? As we all know duct tape is a treasure trove of evidence. Could hair fibers matching the Anthony’s rug been found on the duct tape? Could Caylee Anthony actually have had her face duct taped inside the home of Cindy and George Anthony? It also explains why the police asked for the grandparents finger prints. Not to accuse them, but instead to exclude them.

Two, which is an even more heinous reason for the duct tape … did Casey intend on killing Caylee with forethought and malice as evident by “neck breaking” searches on the internet?

Next we will look into the duct tape and how it implicates Casey Anthony from evidence removed from the home …

SM – you are giving Casey Anthony too much credit…she is not that smart enough to think that far ahead….

And two…all these experts say that duct tape can not stick after decomposition…I say..how do they know…every thing has a different circumstance…..

It’s sickening though that this girl as Tim Miller said, NEVER ONCE spoke of her daughter once. NEVER helped in any of the searches…how can her parents sit there and watch her not give a sh*t and then defend her….unreal…hillbillies!

The child is the victim… The people who donated are victims.. The prayers, hopes and dreams of so many people were on the balance of finding Caylee alive. Casey has known all along where this child was, that is the web she weaved for each and every person who would listen to her. She made me sick to my stomach the first week I read the stories, because she shows the symptoms of the beginning stages of the same phycotic illness my sister suffers. My sister told lies all her life. Some very convincing. Some very outragious. Today, in her late 40s, my sister suffers Paranoid Schizophrenia in advance stages. At times, she is so medically sedated, she does not know who I am. Other days she tells me what color the sky is, and it is never blue. Casey Anthony is pathologically sick. SHe was incapable of risking her reputation with her parents, therefor unable to tell them or anyone what she did to her child. She spun a web of lies to cover her rank as a child of a police officer and very matriach type mother. Casey would not have handled their disproval for her behavior.. so the lies never ended. The mother should have beat her ass the minute Casey told her about the missing child. The dissapointment would have come out in the open right-a-way. Casey would have had no one to support her web of lies. As it is, Casey’s mother is holding the web on one side while demanding and instructing the family members to support the other side of the web. Casey was looking for acceptance… and her family provided this. When in fact they should have shunned her, and forced her to tell athourities the truth from the beginning. I say prosecute the mother in a seperate case. She is accesory to the gruesome crime. Hold the intire family responsible for the behavior of their daughter and bring rest to this child.

Ive been egged on to state my opinion about the Anthony’s. For those that are not interested, feel free to by-pass this post…

      .

One thing that I will say is that this is not the first time that Caylee thought about killing someone and given the volatile relationship she had with her mother, there is no doubt in my mind that alot of her aggression was directed toward her.

I have always thought that the rage that was subjected toward Caylee was as a direct result of Cindy kicking her daughter out of the house. I have not read anything that, specifically, says that’s what happened; but that’s my guess. I don’t see kindness in the eyes of Cindy and I would imagine that there were many times that she said and did some horrible things. Not that this would be an excuse to kill your daughter, but, perhaps in the mind of an emotionally abused adult, this was used as a means of revenge. Casey never wanted a child, but Cindy did. Sometimes people go to extreme measures to get what they want. Even if it means making parenting a difficult task for a young mother with constant bickering and belittling.

In the picture of Caylee in the arms of her grandfather where she is looking about and asking if her Po-Po is tired; I get the sense that there was a lot of fighting over her. In her eyes, I see a child that wishes that everyone would just get along; hoping that she can be the glue to hold this family together. Comforting them instead of vise-versa with a fear of there being a storm on the horizon, again.

There was plenty of abuse going on behind closed doors. Gut retching, emotional abuse in a house full of anger and resentment. Casey never wanted to be tied down to having a child in THAT house, without a husband and a real family to give her love and support. What little love there was in that house was directed only in one direction… toward Caylee. Even to the point where a two year old might feel guilty about it, as much as a child of that age is able to feel those emotions. But, there is no doubt in my mind that this child had to listen to the people she loved ridicule each other, including, her own mother.

Casey has always had emotional problems, mostly stemming from Cindy and her unmovable desire to control everything and everybody in her path. She was the matriarch in that house and it was never a good idea to bring a grandchild into the equation… especially, one that she would love as much as she loved Caylee. Caylee was protected to the point where, even, her own mother would be depicted as the bad guy. So there was constantly a tug a war going on around this poor child.

The worse thing that Cindy did was when she threw up her arms and forced the two of them to leave her house. She meant only for Casey to tire of having the responsibility of being a full-time mother, burdened with trying to take care of a child with, virtually, no money or, in her opinion, the mothering skills necessary to do it on her own. She, secretly, wanted Casey to fall on her face so she could prove her point that Casey was a terrible mother and baste in the glory of her, finally, coming to the realization that the best thing for Caylee was to be ‘handed’ over to her.

Obviously, George and Cindy were having trouble in their marriage and this added to Cindy’s need to hold on to the only one that loved her unconditionally, Caylee. Caylee loved EVERYONE, unconditionally, and thought nothing about it. She had a heart of love big enough for them all but, unfortunately, she was the only one in that house that truly had the ability to love in that way.

No doubt, Caylee came to miss her grandmother and ‘Po Po’ as that was the only life she had ever known. She wasn’t used to being wheeled around from place to place and, like any other child she came to miss her bed, her room and her toys. To Casey, it was hurtful; a painful reminder of all the nasty things that had been said and implied by her arrogant and impatient mother who had her own inadequacies. But, when she hit bottom, there was no reasoning and very little fighting back against those feelings of hopelessness, unworthiness and anger.

Casey snapped, just as she had done many times before but this time it was accompanied with a determination that things were never going to be the same. She wasn’t, ever, going to go back to that same bickering and belittling that she had put up with for years and, although, it was not a conscious effort on her part, she took it out on Caylee. Suddenly, it became crystal clear that Caylee was the one that was preventing her from being the person she wanted to be.

Rage is an ugly thing, especially, when it’s unleashed upon a small, defenseless child.

      .

The feeling I get from Lee is that he knows all the dirty little secrets about the way in which his sister was treated. He loves her and he may be the only one that Casey would confide in. There’s a picture of the two of them together when Casey is talking about Caylee not being far from home. I see the hurt in his eyes because he knows that his sister did this horrible thing along with the sense that his sister is trying to tell him where her daughter is. He would have never guessed that she meant the woods that they had played in as children.

Unlike his mother who has always taken charge of everything, he was the one that laid back and tried to stay clear of the storm that seemed to envelope that house. He couldn’t deal with it, so most of what he did was shut it out. Unlike Casey, he didn’t fight back. Perhaps he learned that from his father, who always managed to slip out the back and find something to keep himself busy until things calmed down. Besides, it was usually Casey who would come to his rescue when his mother’s wrath was directed toward him. He never learned to deal with adversity, or perhaps he dealt with it in his own way, by cranking up the music in his room, drowning out the sound of shouting voices or in putting his efforts in, simply, not being there as a teen and young adult.

I sense closeness between him and Casey, but not intimacy. In fact, I don’t sense intimacy between any members of that household. Only Caylee, was afforded the love and kindness that comes with having a caring intimate relationship; but, even with her, I sense that she was starting to feel the vulnerability. Everyone else was fearful of becoming too close. By intimacy, I don’t mean anything of a sexual nature.

Lee, in my opinion, was the only one that owned up to his instinct. He knew, in his heart, that Caylee was gone and didn’t buy into the senseless way in which his parents tried to support Casey in an effort to get to the truth. George knew too, but out of respect he held on to the gleam of hope that Cindy held out for Caylee. Cindy would not and could not accept that her grand daughter was gone because above all else, she loved her. It will take a very, very long time for Cindy to forgive Casey for what she’s done; although deep inside she has her own feelings of guilt. How much easier it would have been to believe that a stranger had been the one to bring such suffering, but, Cindy knows that’s not the case now that her grand daughter has been found.

Unfortunately, there is enough guilt to go around for everyone associated with this case. The kind of guilt that comes with knowing that the innocent one was lost… and, perhaps, in a sense; we’ve all lost our innocence.

This is getting more sickening by the day. Casey Anthony is a psychopath and something isn’t right about Cindy & George either. What a messed up family. Poor Caylee never had a chance with that bunch.

    5. babyfacemagee on December 15th, 2008 9:39 am

Disagree with you here Dana. You state

“Because if duct tape was simply put across the mouth of Caylee Anthony to keep her quiet there is no way that after 6 months of decomposition the duct tape could be attached.”

Actually, you don’t know this. It depends on a number of things. How the tape was positioned, the speed and areas of decomposition, sizeof the piece of tape. It is quite possible that a piece of tape placed fully over the mouth but under the nose to allow breathing through the nose could still be in place after 6 months. Especially if the body was lying undisturbed inside a plastic bag. With nothing to move it and in a bag not exposed to animals or the elements there’s a very good chance the tape would still be there. Skin tissue can still be present after 6 months.

I’ve been to several ‘digs’ with a friend who is a forensic anthropologist and even after a few years dried skin tissue can still be present depending on the conditions. In 6 months there would almost surely be skin tissue. You act like this was a skeleton that had been buried for 50 years. It’s not. Everything you say after that supposition is pure conjecture. While it certainly is possible that Casey broke the neck of her child, the presence or not of duct tape on the mouth doesn’t prove or disprove that theory. In fact, because so far it has been described as duct tape on the mouth area, and not as duct tape all around the head or skull, it makes me lean more towards the duct tape used to keep her quiet..regardless of whether it was to kill her or just temporarily.

No description from investigators has said the tape went all around the head. We have to wait and see for more detail but I stand by my initial statement that you are wrong to make the jump that just because the tape was still attached it therefore couldn’t be for keeping her silent. That just doesn’t hold water.

    6. Focusoncaylee on December 15th, 2008 9:48 am

This is a very good analysis of what happened… According to a “friend” of mine, it was said that when Trenton Ducket went missing Casey got this brainstorm! (There are a lot of similarities between what Casey has said and what the mother of Trenton has said as well).

One example is this. When Casey said (in jail) “I can’t keep crying about this, I gotta keep my composure” (talking to Kristina her friend), it’s the same thing the other chick said about the cops as well. things like that.

Casey’s brother Lee was close to Josh (the father of TD) Casey also spoke with him frequently.

We know that there are several inquiries made about “missing children” on her computer, so we KNOW that 1. She was either looking up the Ducket case, or 2. She got so fasciated that she started to fabricate in her mind how “what if” HER daughter went missing too!?

What would happen, how would her parents feel THEN? After all, Cindy is such a controlling monster and couldn’t keep her mouth shut when it came to Caylee, always putting her two cents in, constantly badgering poor Casey about how SHE and George support that baby and not Casey…

Continual bickering about them “living in their home”…

So… Casey figured that she would stage a kidnapping and that’ll show them!

But, something went wrong, she freaked, she gave the baby too much chloroform, and the baby died.

      Now what!?

      It’s like Padilla says…

However, this is just one idea… of the many that we’ll definitely hear about when the trial gets going. Of course the defense will stick to ONE story and the evidence will show some other story.

Casey is the only one who knows what REALLY happened and she is not going to spill her guts for no one. She’s such a great liar huh? Gotta give her credit for that!

She was going to “teach them” a good lesson wasn’t she.

    7. Cinderella on December 15th, 2008 10:28 am

      Sadly,

This means the duct tape was probably wrapped completely around the head of the child (possibly several times).

A single strip of duct tape would have loosened as moisture, animal interference, and decomposition decayed the skin to which it had been adhered. The integrity of the adhesive would have caused the tape to pull away from the skin (and possibly even the hair).
The fact that duct tape still remained on or near the mouth of the skull suggests the tape was wrapped around the skull!

The child prolly suffocated due to an object (doused in chloroform) shoved into her mouth and held in place by a complete wrapping of duct tape.

If anyone was gunning for the death penalty, Casey Anthony certainly makes a compelling case!

Casey Anthony is a murderer, plain and simple.

The DA should proceed forward with asking for the Death penalty. There is in fact, evidence that the crime was pre-meditated. Why would they need anything else? At this point, until the trial begins, much of the manner in which Caylee died is exactly conjecture.

Either way, Casey is going to need more than a few sedatives when the Prosecutors & Jurors get through with her. Stick a fork in her….she’s done!

#3 HOPE.. I am thinking even though Cindy and Casey argued…the evidence point to pre-meditated with the “neck” breaking search and other searches…it is very incriminating.

Because of this, I don’t think Casey’s motive
was to just put her daughter to sleep for one
      night party time….

Also, in Florida, putting a child in a trunk gagged with tape and chloroformed is really killing them. No one can breath in that summer tropical heat.

The tape could have been wrapped around her head and it did fall off (I would think) when the meter reader kicked the bag? TBD

    10. Donnie on December 15th, 2008 11:20 am

I really hated Padilla for a long time for bailing this chick out of jail, I sometimes wonder if he hadn’t have bailed her out, if she would have “talked” by now. Think about it, if Padilla or anyone else would have let her fester in the slammer for a while, sitting there thinking about what had hapened, would she have cracked? Highly unlikely but it’s a thought I have.

    11. txchic on December 15th, 2008 11:34 am

okay, i was thinking the same thing about the duck tape. was it only attached to the skin as though it would eventually be removed or around her head & hair? obviously the pictures of little caylee showed a girl with well kept hair & i can’t see her mom placing the tape in her hair if she’d eventually need to cut it out.

while i’m no fan of cindy anthony i’m going to say on her behalf that any mother would eventually throw her hands in the air if her daughter were out making an a$$ of herself, stealing & lying. i just hope the investigators will get the true story from this bunch.

    12. Sharon Chicago on December 15th, 2008 11:54 am

Scenario: Casey put one little strip of tape across Caylee’s mouth in effort to keep her quiet while she overdosed her with Chloroform

Scenario: Casey would not have put just a strip of tap on Caylee’s mouth with the intent to keep her quiet while in the trunk. Caylee would have ripped off the piece of tape… If she wrapped it around her head she would not have been able to remove it.

How terriblt horrific for little Caylee to die like this…God rest her soul..sweet baby girl!

    15. babyfacemagee on December 15th, 2008 12:39 pm

I agree with several here. If you want to find the ‘root cause’ of this whole tragedy, it is Cindy and her manic stifling controlling personality.

Obviously she’s a woman with severe self worth issues manifesting in extreme controlling of others and denial of her own responsibility in all this. I see mothers like this all the time. Out of control. Completely unselfaware as to the emotional and psychological effects of their behavior on others. Deep inside they are incredibly immature people who ‘want things their way” because of an inability to respect others stemming from their lack of respect for themselves.

It’s unfortunate Casey did not have the strength to put Caylee up for adoption like she apparently wanted to. The mother obviously used incredible amounts of guilt/shame and perhaps financial and coercive threats to ‘force’ Casey to ‘keep’ Caylee. Frankly I hope Cindy rots for what she did.

A child as tortured/confused and eventually mentally sick as Casey can only come from parents that are incredibly selfish and immature and completely dismissive of the emotional needs of their own child.

I’m sure I’ll get flack by callin ‘Casey’ a ‘victim’…of course she still knows right from wrong and the killing of her daughter whether accidental or on purpose still needs to be punished…but I have no doubt that the genesis of the dysfunction in that house is with the parents…mostly Cindy.

    17. Brenda in Virginia on December 15th, 2008 1:18 pm

Hey Focus…I’ve got my own theories…yours is certainly possible.

Everyone knows by now Casey wanted to give Caylee up for adoption and Cindy would have none of it! So….a couple of years later, Cindy is constantly b1tching @ Casey to “spend more time with Caylee”. Well….a good and loving mother would want to, but Casey doesn’t fit that description. I am not excusing ANYTHING regarding Casey, but she obviously didn’t want her baby, so why Cindy continued to force this to occur could only have made the problem worse.

If my daughter chose to give up a baby (she’s never been pregnant @ 24 though), I would probably not be real happy, but wouldn’t force her to change her mind. Not my life to decide this for her. Cindy is the center point for the problems…and George didn’t help much not keeping his wife under control as it is obvious she needs it!

    18. babyfacemagee on December 15th, 2008 2:23 pm

There must also have been either tape or rope on the hands. NOBODY JUST TAPES A MOUTH. Anyone, even a small child would immediately rip off a piece of tape from their mouth if their hands are free. We have not been told what condition her hands and wrists were in when found. That will be interesting evidence. This whole “tape must have been wrapped around the head” idea that some have put forth you can throw out the window. Makes no sense. Even if her entire head were wrapped in tape…if her hands were free she’d eventually rip it off piece by piece. I strongly suspect we’ll find that the hands were bound behind her back so she couldn’t remove the tape. As far as the reader or two that has said the tape couldn’t have been stuck to her mouth after these past 6 months. You’re simply wrong. There’s no evidence that animals touched her body. She was IN A BAG. Skin can survive in the right environment for YEARS without decomposing fully. I’ve seen it personally. It sounds to me like chloroform was used to put her to sleep, tape over the mouth, hands tied behind her head….the rest we don’t know. she might have had her neck broken…or she might have been suffocated. We’ll have to wait for the autopsy for that one. Shouldn’t be long now.

    19. Focusoncaylee on December 15th, 2008 2:37 pm

Hey Brenda… I don’t know if it was Casey that wanted to give up the baby, I’m pretty sure it was Jesse who originally suggested it, but you never know with this girl.

I know that we all agree that this psycho was ripping everyone off, and Cindy had had enough when she kicked Casey out of the house it was right after Casey ripped the grandma off of a lot of money.

All along Casey is visiting these missing person’s sites for what? I don’t know, I think this crazy beotch was planning on this for quite a while, maybe not to actually “kill” this baby, but certainly do SOMETHING that would cause panick and unrest for the parents, and that’s exactly what she has done, only in a more horrific way.

As far as these church-going parents… NOW they’re turning to God?.. They have NEVER stepped foot in a church, nor EVER taken their children.

What I don’t like is these puritanical pretenders acting like they are free from sin and are nothing but hypocrites! As far as it states in the Bible, we are ALL hypocrites but some more than others. I read stuff all the time from people who’s hearts are as black as coal and they “act” like they are so good, and so loving (yeah right).

I’m not THAT stupid and neither is anyone else, so keep pretending. They’re the first ones to lash out at you should you cross them, just look at Cindy’s slander of the OCSD.

These parents have enabled their daughter her entire life to be the way she is. Casey has had NO discipline, NO direction, NO consequences for her actions, and therefore she has NO conscience about anything she does. How could she? She’s never experienced ramifications of wrongdoings, you know?

The parents act like this is not at all possible because they will NEVER admit that they (excuse me) *ucked up in their responsibility to their daughter to be raised properly (spare the rod, spoil the child) as we all have to our children.

You said it yourself, YOU’RE daughter is 24, and never been pregnant? Sounds to me she was raised with morals and values and raised right. The way all of our children should be.

Casey never stood a chance with these parents she has.

And, not to drag this on, but I firmly believe that our parents have a responsibilty to give us everything we need to “make it” in the world, being productive members of society, and putting forth “good works”, and that’s it.

Does it excuse Casey from anything as you pointed out?

      HELL NO!

    20. Victoria Alexander on December 15th, 2008 2:49 pm

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned that Caylee is always gritting her teeth and making an angry face? That’s an unhappy child’s face.

How much will it cost the State?

The Casey Anthony Dream Team WANTS a trial that will cost millions to the State. If a plea deal was offered, they would advise Casey against taking it so they could go to trial and get the publicity they hunger for.

The whole family are stars now and the Dream Team is saying they will get her off.

Why does it look to me that the parents conversations with Casey always look like they are afarid of her? All OTHER parents would be furious with her and demand she tell them where the child was. Something is very wrong in that family.

I heard that the plastic bag was duct taped, as well.

I’m inclined to believe that Caylee was killed, probably beaten to death; dying from blunt force trauma, a broken neck, or both. If she placed Caylee in the trunk of her car where she remained for some time, wouldn’t it be like Casey to put a strip of duct tape on Caylee’s mouth, as well as around the bag, to make it look like a kidnapping?

Certainly, the scientists will be able to tell if the tape was placed on her mouth before or after death. And, perhaps the reason that the tape stuck to that area was because Caylee was already in the latter stages of decomposition (from being in that trunk and in the heat) before being placed in the bag…. and BEFORE the tape was put in place.

      What do you think?

#10 Donnie…. I don’t hate Patilla for bailing Casey out of jail…. Even though she did not spill her guts and tell the truth while out of jail. Those around her were able to testify her NON GRIEVING behavior…so I think it was a good thing.

    23. Valerie on December 15th, 2008 3:43 pm

I find it incredulous that George and Cindy Anthony are to this day still sticking with Casey’s story that “the nanny” kidnapped Cayley. In one of George’s taped interviews with either the FBL or the local authorities, he stated clearly that he knew Casey had not been employed for the past two years, the past two years Casey swears that Zenaida Gonzales was Cayley’s nanny. If you are not employed, you don’t require a nanny !

      Miss Katie:

You are so sweet and kind. As long as we put our trust in God, we’ll make it through the woes and then we can all rejoice and have an eternity to enjoy life in complete perfection under His loving direction.

I agree with you… we’re living in the time of the end. The Bible says it will be over in a twinkling of an eye. How righteous of him to bring an end to our suffering as it truly is suffering to look around and see so much wickedness. We need to get to know our creator and to imitate Him that gave his life as a ransom for our sins that we might live.

      For me, everyday is Christmas!

The only thing I fault George and Cindy for is that Cindy was so controlling (but hey, if Casey lived in her house, she had a right to control it) and their total denial of what happened to Caylee and their protection of Casey in the face of all the evidence.

Had Casey been a different person, I can understand belief in your child. Except they knew Casey was a total liar. This wasn’t a surprise or out of character for Casey. Without their protection and support, Casey might have been forced to tell the truth.

I believe that Casey did accidentally kill Caylee (though the duct tape on the mouth would suggest this is possible not true). One would think that if you overdosed your child on chloroform, you wouldn’t know for sure without removing the tape.

Anyway, I have faith that dream team or not, there just ain’t a jury stupid enough to let her go.

    42. Brenda in Virginia on December 16th, 2008 8:46 am

      Hi Focus,

We think alike. My dad used to describe the heart of some people being “black as coal” too. He was a minister and lived what he preached. Sadly, as a youngster I was badly disappointed by the “church” as a whole seeing how many of the “sheeple” were nothing like the daddy I adored. Quite opposite for that matter.

I watched what my dad endured at the hands of the almighty “elders” who (like congress) are in their places of power forever while pastors come and go. I saw how the children of these “popular” church families acted in school. I heard the language they used and knew who snuck cigarettes and liquor from their parents (keep in mind these parents probably hide the fact they drink from other church members :>) These same families do all they can on Sunday (and Weds) to appear the embodiment of perfection in church. White gloves on the wife/girls, nice suits on the men/boys, never miss a service…yet they hated each other. I know because the kids would tell me they couldn’t stand their folks. So sad!

I loved my good father. He taught me to do the right thing simply because you love what is right…NOT for a feeling of being good. NOT to make brownie points with God or for some reward…but because you love what is RIGHT. Too many people think if they do the “right thing” it’s as if they are pulling themself up the ladder of righteousness. Unfortunately they have it backwards. Most folks are only looking for a reward, but the person who truly loves Truth practices this not caring if he/she gets anything in return. Now THAT is true love!

It is apparent no true love existed in the Anthony home other than what Caylee gave to everyone. how long before cindy would have corrupted that little angel too????? NO doubt this child was a pawn between Cindy and Casey…and we know what happens to pawns in a chess game.

    43. Richard on December 16th, 2008 8:48 am

Pat in Alabama (#31) … Do you mean Susan Smith, of South Carolina? Perhaps not; after all, there are more tragic cases than anyone can remember.

I’ve read that chloroform is a natural by-product of decomposing bodies (not something anyone wants to speak about) … the duct tape to me suggests something else. Such as deliberate and systematic abuse.

I don’t want to think about this, nor does any sane person who reads this. But is it possible that this ‘mother’ allowed child molesters to abuse her daughter? Perhaps in exchange for drugs, or even for her own satisfaction?

I don’t know of any evidence supporting this idea.
The only thing that brings it to mind is the number of unbelievably sick cases out there.

      Hey Brenda,

Your poor dad. Most people know “good and bad”, “right and wrong”, things like that., but to practice it, is hard. Trying to raise kids and then your kids are “seeing” things that don’t make sense. I feel bad for people (ecpecially children) who see things that aren’t right.

Kids are not stupid, they KNOW what makes sense or not. But we, as children, ALWAYS watch our fathers don’t we. My dad’s good too. Served the Air Force and a very honorable man. I just really admire him and love him so much.

It’s REALLY HARD to turn the other cheek so to speak when we see things and hear things that aren’t right. I know.

People can be MEAN and throw all kinds of things at you to make you argue, (lash out) but I won’t do that, I don’t care who says what about me. I know what I’m about and what makes me move, or NOT move.

What I can’t stand are people who portray themselves as you describe.. wearing of the white gloves and “pretending”. Playing that game, when all the while they “hate” It’s sad. And I know that people may fool other people but they don’t fool God.

I’m just who I am, I cuss , I get mad just like everyone else, and I sometimes am rude, but I watch that, because it “eggs” people on. I don’t need that. I grew up around the military my entire life, and I’ve worked around men most of my life too, so it makes it hard for me (being a “woman”) to be a woman.. lol. Know what I mean. I’m livin in a “mans world” girl.. It’s hard!

I like this one verse that I found when someone was trying to provoke me and it just sticks with me..

      1. They embroil themselves in quarrels: A fool’s lips, without any cause or call, enter into contention, by advancing foolish notions which others find themselves obliged to oppose, and so a quarrel is begun, or by giving provoking language, which will be resented, and satisfaction demanded, or by setting men at defiance, and bidding them do if they dare. Proud, and passionate men, and drunkards, are fools, whose lips enter into contention. A wise man may, against his will, be drawn into a quarrel, but he is a fool that of choice enters into it when he might avoid it, and he will repent it when it is too late.

I like that and it IS true so we have to be careful when people lash out at us, cause they’re only trying to suck us into their own evil.

Blah blah blah… I’m sure you’re well aware of this.

“Justice”.. This word had a LOT of meaning to me, especially in this situation regarding the baby. She’s not going to get any justice from her own family. and THAT pisses me off, cause she’s an innocent. And we’re SUPPOSED to have the support of our family but NOT when we do wrong. I don’t believe that. Casey has NEVER been held responsible for her actions by her parents and she won’t be held responsible this time either (by her parents). But, the state WILL hold her responsible!

So, I say what I say that makes me feel better (vent) for her because she has had no voice for a while now… You know?

At this point, as I have written, her voice is screaming, she’s letting everyone know what happened. It’s kind of freaky don’t you think?

And these people STILL insist on playing the “innocent Casey” routine. GOOD GOD! Even her grandparents are not seeking justice for her.

I think that everything will be okay I just know it and I feel that THIS TIME it’s really going to be okay.

When all is said and done, Caylee WILL have justice, with, or without the help of her grandparents. there’s just too many people who want that for her.

    48. Cinderella on December 16th, 2008 12:35 pm

One thing I’ve never heard ANYONE question:

      Caley had a “nanny”?

Did Casey keep a chauffeur on staff too?

      Excuse me?
No one thought this phantom “nanny” nonsense was beyond ridiculous? These are middle-class people. If a high-powered couple or a wealthy family hires a full-time caretaker for their children, or a “nanny”, that’s one thing, but Casey Anthony, a single mom, was able to convince her own family, friends, and the authorities, that she actually employed a caretaker for her only child?
      Who was Casey kidding??

Not me, I can assure you.

    49. James S on December 16th, 2008 12:38 pm

      To DKD:

I like your comments, they’re very interesting. I was checking out a sociopath. It looks like Ms Anthony has a lot of these traits++++++++

      Glibness and Superficial Charm

      Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

      Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”

      Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

      Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

      Incapacity for Love

      Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

      Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others’ feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

      Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

      Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet “gets by” by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

      Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others’ lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

      Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

      Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

      Other Related Qualities:

Contemptuous of those who seek to understand them
Does not perceive that anything is wrong with them
      Authoritarian
      Secretive
      Paranoid
Only rarely in difficulty with the law, but seeks out situations where their tyrannical behavior will be tolerated, condoned, or admired
      Conventional appearance
Goal of enslavement of their victim(s)
Exercises despotic control over every aspect of the victim’s life
Has an emotional need to justify their crimes and therefore needs their victim’s affirmation (respect, gratitude and love)
Ultimate goal is the creation of a willing victim
Incapable of real human attachment to another
Unable to feel remorse or guilt
      Extreme narcissism and grandiose
May state readily that their goal is to rule the world

      Sounds just like her.

    50. HOPE on December 16th, 2008 1:04 pm

I agree, too. I spent most of the night looking for crimes that took place in the Orlando area in March. The time, during which, Casey first started searching out Chloroform, breaking necks and household weapons. The way in which she acts in public, wanting to lure young women and couples into sexual activity is not that different than the way in which many serial killers scheme against the innocent. I don’t claim to be an angel; I have been out in the world and have witnessed this kind of activity with my own eyes and am very skeptical of a woman who is unleashed against the world, using sexual pleasure as a tool to entice people, while having a bottle of Chloroform in her purse.

Literally, thousands of innocent victims disappear over night to wake up in a hotel room or a beach somewhere, not knowing where they’ve been or what has happened to them. So, I was moved to look through the records of Orlando’s missing persons cases for that time period, but nothing really popped out at me. Problem is, these types of crimes are rarely reported or even written about in the news unless they result in death… and many young people who would be out frequenting bars, living the high life, are most likely to be listed as runaways.

I’m thinking out loud because I, honestly, don’t think that this is the first time that Casey hurt someone.

Wow, you seem to have alot of insight on this sick and twisted Anthony family. I agree with all of it. One would think that you are a close friend or a relative.

I have followed this case from the start and have always said that Casey was gulity.

I get so angry every time I see those fake tears and hear all those lies that are nothing more then bull@hit. Casey just wants attention and that is exactly what she is getting, even if its not good attention but Im sure bad attention is what she is used to.

Whether or not she meant to kill little Caylee doesnt matter at this point. The fact of the matter is that she did it, plain and simple. Casey did not show her helpless little girl any mercy so why should any one show Casey mercy. The prosecution should go ahead and seek the death penalty because that is what she deserves.

George & Cindy are as much to blame for what their daughter has done. They have always and still continue to inable her.

May this whole family rot in hell for all that they have done to this poor sweet innocent little girl. May she rest in peace now that she is away from these people.

      Richard, Brenda

Brenda is right. Andrea Yates is the one I was thinking of, who drowned all her kids in the bathtub. As bad as that was, she didn’t study how to do it on the Internet. Susan Smith, on the other hand, may actually have the dubious distinction of being the first well know loveless mom to kill her own children, and like Casey, told a string of lies to cover what she had done.

Brenda, I’m a he not a she, but there is no way you would have known that. Perhaps I should go by Patrick; that just always felt too formal and stuffy for me. And everyone said “we care why?”

Cinderella, No one beleives there was a nanny, but the cops even have to check out half baked lies, which wastes a lot of their time. Correction, no one but Casey beleives there was a nanny. She has been telling that lie so long she may have come to beleive it herself.

Re : Cinderella ‘s post about Casey’s ability to afford a nanny: On Dec 15 I posted the point that Casey would have not needed a nanny or babysitter given the fact that she had not been employed since 2006, according to one of George’s taped interviews with the authorities. As well, in one of Cindy Anthony’s interviews with the police, she stated that at that time she thought that “Zanny” was either Jessie Grund or Casey’s friend Amy.Now they are back to the accusing the imaginary Zenaida.
Common sense and experience tells me that no one can have a nanny for over two years and not have anyone close to you never have occasion to speak to or see the person who is taking care of you child. Our single daughter and her little boy lived with us for ten months after he was born .She took him to a day home every day and went to her job. In that time there were several occasions where I needed to be in contact with the “Nanny” i.e something was inadvertantly left out of the diaper bag that I needed to drop off, or I needed to pick up my grandson for a doctor’s appointment before my daughter was able to leave her work , or speak to her on the phone regarding my daughter’s schedule, little things like that.
Even though no one in their right mind believes the nanny story, this is going to be important issue at trial if Casey and her family continue to insist that Cayley was kidnapped by the babysitter

Casey has only known Tony since May 2008, what kinds of animals were they “burying” and when?

      Hope,

This is such a tragic situation. There is a level of respect that should be maintained in such a discussion.

How did you get to “Hey… THIS is dancin’”?

Focus….I’m the same. It’s hard to be a woman when I related totally to men (have one female friend…my husband and I hang out with all his hunting buds…that’s it!)

I refuse to fall into the role today’s liberal culture has tried to direct us to. they want us to be overbearing, man-hating, painted up, prescription drug addicted, weak-minded, sexually unrestrained breaders. Nothing much more. women like Sarah Palin are vilified because the women who can’t stand up to her are JEALOUS. I think she’s the bomb! Condi Rice too…

I am not driven by emotions, I see them as a danger when they control you. Understanding now in my early 40′s my anger hurts me MUCH worse than the uncaring or rude and cruel words and actions of others. same with getting too excited about something. If the outcome is not what you plan in your head (fantasy), you then feel let down. Why? What’s the use?

Since you and your family are military, I suggest the site below:

      http://www.patriotoutreach.org

Fantastic site providing emotional and spiritual support for our nobel warriors, military contractors, police officers, and their families. It is headed up by Col. Tony Monaco. You would enjoy it.

i know that people think that the upbringing in someones life gives alot of sicko’s an excuse to kill and hurt other people!! the mother is always the one that gets the back lash for someone like casey to have committed such a horrible act!! have you ever asked yourself maybe she is just evil and theres not a thing wrong with her, but pure evil! there are lot of people in this world that are like that, and come from ok families!! have you ever wondered maybe cindy and george have dealt with this all caseys life? i have watched this case from the begginning but i’m like nancy grace. i dont think the parents had anything to do with what happened. i think being naive and stupid yea, and believing the daughter, and being in denial that your daughter killed your grandchild and not reacting the way this hypocritical world wants you to was a big mistake!! noone knows if they are devoted parent how they would protect their child, and would never want to belive they could do something so evil, and i believe george and cindy and lee loves and has always protected casey!!

There are a lot of theories about the duct tape, but could it be that the tape wasn’t applied just around the mouth. I am sure investigators would like to withhold some details to allow a person who is truly involved to step forward and identify some of the key details. They have stated tape around the mouth, but it could be much more than that.

As far as the neck breaking searches, I am wondering if Casey was searching for information to break her own neck and fake a kidnapping or assault in order to further the kidnapping story. Remember that college student who vanished for several days and then turned out to be hiding? Casey could have been planning to hide out for days, break her own neck and pretend her daughter had been kidnapped. You can’t underestimate people like this.

I agree with all of you regarding the whole Anthony family. But just out of curiosity, do you think Caylee could have drowned in the pool while the Anthonys were away and Casey panicked. Remember, she did make a few phone calls to her mother’s phone right about that time within a matter of a few minutes. However, she feared the wrath of Cindy i think more than anything else at that moment. She would be exiled forever and her mother’s belief that Casey was an unfit mother would have proved correct. Chloroform is also a byproduct of disinfection, ie.. chlorine water. And I recall Cindy mentioning that the pool ladder was down when they got home and it’s never left down. Also I’m confused about the timeline again. In Casey’s early interviews with detectives, she says she hasn’t seen her daughter since June 9th, yet Cindy took Caylee to see her father on June 15th. Did Casey change that statement at some point and I just missed it. I do believe that Caylee was in the backyard for sometime and was then moved via the trunk of Casey’s car and that’s why the cadaver dogs hit both places.I believe she dumped Caylee’s body and then ditched the car at the Amscot. What I don’t believe is that she did this all by herself. I have a hard time believing that she didn’t confide in someone…like Tony perhaps or even Lee. I don’t know…it’s just another theory. Everyone seems to think that she drugged her with the chloroform to keep her quiet while she partied and maybe she did but I truly don’t believe she intended to kill her. Either way, in the state of Florida if you’ve done something deliberately that could endanger a child’s life and it results in death (a child under the age of 12)it can be grounds for first degree murder!

    65. Source Says that Casey Anthony Intentionally Killed her Daughter Caylee … Overwhelming Evidence | Scared Monkeys on January 10th, 2009 10:38 am

[...] we learn investigators pinpoint the exact day of murder as June 16. The source also confirms duct tape wrapped specifically across little Caylee`s mouth – specifically across the mouth. And we discover part of the state`s evidence is a positive [...]

WOW…..Casey is getting fat in jail………she eats better than most people……..Did anybody notice how much bigger her nose is……It almost looks like she’s pregnant……but surely to God not……..She needs to keep her legs together……The judge ordered her to appear in court because she had never officially waived her right to appear…..I am glad he did……..He is a smart man…..Wasn’t it hilarious when the court clerk had to make her swear to tell the truth, the whole truth…..etc etc….? I bet people wanted to laugh sitting in the courtroom……

    67. elle smith on January 10th, 2009 5:31 pm

Duct tape is very wide……..and would cover the child’s mouth and nostrils, possibly…..which means she meant for her to NOT breathe.

    68. elle smith on January 10th, 2009 5:35 pm

I believe the child was dead when she put her in the trunk of the car……..even if she survived the chloroform or neck breaking or whatever…..the duct tape would have freaked her out and made her choke, on her on vomit……This chick Casey is a sicko…………not sure about the DP…..maybe growing old in jail would be better punishment for her……so she could be reminded on a daily basis how her partying lifestyle landed her there…….so she could reflect on how freedom would be nice……so little Caylee’s memory could haunt her for ever….she’s probably going to hell anyway……I don’t care either way..DP or life behind bars……but the taxpayer’s would have to foot the bill for her food, cards, etc….Wonder if she still rejects the chaplain coming to visit….She probably won’t even watch the funeral on closed circuit TV……she doesn’t care…she doesn’t even care about her parents, let alone that precious child……

The reward went to $250,000 and Cindy A did not want some jerk strolling around to get the reward money by coming across the remains. By slipping, somehow, the information to the Meter Reader, the remains were found and no reward had to be paid. What happened to the money?

Only Casey knew where she dumped the body so she had to tell Cindy so some volunteer do-gooder could not find the body and claim the reward.

Where is the reward money now?

Did anyone else hear that Casey Anthony is pregnant? I guess that would explain the weird variety of junk food she’s eating in jail and the weight gain. Would George and Cindy get the baby if it’s born in prison?

    71. jenna on February 7th, 2009 9:45 am

I have no doubt that Casey killed Caylee via an overdose, which toxicology reports will uncover. I think that as long a Cindy, George & lee refuse to testify against Casey, she will leave them alone. However, if they testify, she will hang them out to dry with incest, abuse, ect. Baez will unleash a media frenzy with personal details of what went on behind closed doors. In fact, Baez might even do that irregardless if Casey is convicted to gain public sympathy.
I do think Lee helped Casey all along & he knows much more than he has stated. He needs to be charged with obstruction & needs to do jail time. Cindy also has obstructed justice & should serve jail time. She has knowingly lied to officers & the media, and she displays sociopathic behavior along with Casey. George, on the other hand, knows what happened & the guilt appears to be catching up with him. Now, the family attorney states he’s back home & will remain there because there aren’t any inpatient treatment facilities near the house – yeah, right. I don’t trust Conway any more than Baez.
Last, if Casey really is pregnant – could it be Baez’s child???? Wouldn’t that be funny.
