Crossed paths, it appears to be much more than that. As The Gateway Pundit states, “BILL AYERS GAVE BARACK OBAMA HIS START.” Don’t believe what the MSM says, believe your own eyes and ears.

Deborah Harrington, president of the Woods Fund, a philanthropic organization in Chicago, said Obama was a director from 1994 through 2001. That overlaps Ayers’ time as a director by three years. It also means Obama served with Ayers for the final months of 2001, after Ayers made his comments to the New York Times.

TRUTH: Bill Ayers is not, and apparently never was, a terrorist. The conventional definition of a terrorist is someone who tries to kill innocent people for political purposes. LIE: “I’m sure he’s very patriotic, but his relationship with Mr. Ayers is open to question….Because, if you’re going to associate and have as a friend and serve on a board and have a guy kick off your campaign that says he’s unrepentant, that he wished he’d bombed more. TRUTH: Obama was not friends with Ayers. Ayers did not kick off Obama’s campaign. And Obama was not comparing Ayers’ actions with Coburn. Obama was pointing out that he works with people even when he disagrees with them.

LIE: Jerome Corsi claimed Alice “Palmer would never have introduced Obama to the Hyde Park political community at the Ayres-Dohrn home unless she saw an affinity between Ayers and Dohrn’s radical leftist history, her own history of far-leftist politics, and the politics of Barack Obama.”(p. 137)
TRUTH: The event wasn’t held primarily for Obama. It was Palmer’s own announcement that she would run for Congress. Obama was there as Palmer’s endorsed successor for her Senate seat, but there’s no evidence that he had any role in deciding to hold it at Ayers’ home.
LIE: Jerome Corsi claims about Obama: “either he did not know Ayers and Dohrn are still radical leftists–in which case he is implausibly naive–or Obama did know, which would confirm he joined with Ayers and Dohrn because Obama too continues to believe, albeit silently and secretly, in the Far Left’s radical agenda.”(p. 140)
TRUTH: Obama probably knew Ayers was a leftist, but he didn’t care. Obama believes in the notion of a free society, where you work with people you disagree with.

TRUTH: Corsi doesn’t explain how Obama “had to know” Ayers’ views on politics when he first met him. Telepathy? Mind-reading?

TRUTH: It reality, it’s not remarkable at all. The notion that people should resign from foundations and refuse to speak in public in order to avoid any connection to a former radical never convicted of a crime is absurd.

TRUTH: This is false. Obama was the president of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, not its dictator. There’s no evidence that Obama made any funding decisions. Moreover, it would have been completely unprofessional for anyone, including Obama, to ban Bill Ayers from receiving funding for educational projects because of alleged radical activities decades earlier which Ayers was never convicted of. Kurtz has no evidence that projects were judged based on anything other than their merits. This is a pure smear by association.

TRUTH: This is a fabrication. The email Kurtz is referring to shows absolutely no kind of cover up. In fact, it shows exactly the opposite. In his blog, Kurtz quotes the entire email Ken Rolling wrote to CAC founders Warren Chapman and Anne Hallett and notes that Sam Dillon, Education Reporter for the New York Times, was working on an article. Rolling wrote about Dillon, He is trying to understand how Barack got ‘picked’ for the CAC board, by whom, why, etc. – I have avoided that question head-on though I believe Barack was Debbie Leff’s/Joyce nomination.” This email reveals no kind of cover-up, and the New York Times article found several sources that said Obama was not picked by Ayers.
LIE: “There is a secret group in the Obama-Biden campaign tasked with shutting off any leaks from the record that links Barack Obama to his longtime adviser and mentor Bill Ayers, professor of education at the University of Illinois and unrepentant Weatherman terrorist and fugitive from the 1970s….There is a substantial independent report from a major Democratic source that confirms Diamond’s suspicions. A gentleman named William Ayers, he was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that. And in fact, on 9/11 he was quoted in The New York Times saying, “I don’t regret setting bombs; I feel we didn’t do enough.”
An early organizing meeting for your state senate campaign was held at his house, and your campaign has said you are friendly. Can you explain that relationship for the voters, and explain to Democrats why it won’t be a problem?
SEN. OBAMA: … This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.
SEN. CLINTON: Well, I think that is a fair general statement, but I also believe that Senator Obama served on a board with Mr. Ayers for a period of time, the Woods Foundation, which was a paid directorship position.
And if I’m not mistaken, that relationship with Mr. Ayers on this board continued after 9/11 and after his reported comments, which were deeply hurtful to people in New York, and I would hope to every American, because they were published on 9/11 and he said that he was just sorry they hadn’t done more. And what they did was set bombs and in some instances people died.

Palin did not say the claim that Obama “pals around” with a terrorist, but did repeat a line she used over the weekend that Obama “sees America as imperfect enough to work with a domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country.”
Ayers and Obama live in the same Chicago neighborhood and served on a charity board together. Ayers hosted a fundraiser for Obama when he first ran for state office in the mid-1990s.
As Palin continues to attend rallies and fund-raise in Florida, the McCain campaign is not relenting on its argument that Obama’s ties to certain individuals raise legitimate questions about his capacity to lead..

During recent interviews of Obama campaign workers on Houston’s Fox TV station, the offices of two Texas Obama campaign volunteers (including a precinct captain and head of the “Houston Obama Leadership Team”) were found prominently decorated with Che Guevara images, against the backdrop of Cuban flags.
Two days after the Fox TV airing the Obama campaign finally went on record and in a terse statement described the Houston office posters as “inappropriate.”

Campaign workers for Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama are under fire for displaying a flag featuring communist hero Che Guevara.
But Obama has his own controversial connections. He is, in fact, an associate of a Chicago-based socialist group with ties to the Socialist International, access to millions of labor union dollars and connections to expert political consultants, including a convicted swindler.
Obama’s socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat. Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the “champions” of “Chicago’s democratic left” and a long-time socialist activist. Obama’s stint as a “community organizer” in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been generally ignored.

In 1995, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created to raise funds to help reform the Chicago public schools. One of the architects of the Challenge was none other than Professor Bill Ayers. Ayers co-wrote the initial grant proposal and proudly lists himself on his own website as the co-founder of the Challenge.
Barack Obama was the first Chairman of the Board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. This appointment came at a crucial time in Barack’s life. He was on the verge of challenging longtime state Senator Alice Palmer for her job. When Barack decided to run, it is no surprise that he turned to William Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn for help in organizing the campaign and in hosting his first fundraiser in the district.
Obama served on the board for eight years until the Challenge ended in 2003. Bill Ayers was intimately involved in the Challenge over this same time period.

I have submitted this article to the McCain Campaign and … requested an explanation in regards to McCain’s 1993 and 1994 vote against this legislation. In fact … I have requested that the campaign office provide me with the “exact” wording of the legislation.
I will give McCain the benefit of the doubt right now that parts of this legislation would have been a restriction on some “basic” freedoms.

Yes, the devil does make things look exciting and fun and some of those things can turn to sin. But the devil has alot more fun seeing bloodshed like that in war… men penned up against one another in the name of nationalism… and the human suffering that follows. Why? Because as the human condition becomes more and more desperate, their reliance on God diminishes. Even the Bible says that, because of the suffering brought on by wickedness, people will curse their own God.

Before #2 and #22 gets away with his claims that McCain voted “To Protect Domestic Terrorists Who Carry Out Violence At Abortion Clinics” that’s simply NOT true if you follow the links to the real legislation instead of just taking a bunch of “in the tank for Obama idiots”.
Here’s the legislation The description of the bill is:A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to permit individuals to have freedom of access to certain medical clinics and facilities, and for other purposes.
Now the question is just how is the bill worded and does it stifle freedom of speech while assuring this access? Note there isn’t a word in there about allowing people to bomb these clinics. Rather, I strongly suspect it tried to prevent protesting outside abortion clinics – based on the Aye votes from Democrats and the nay votes from Republicans.
People, the relationship of Obama with William Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Resko and Rev. Pflegar are not made up, twisted or phony such as #2′s phony claims. They are Real! We can prove them.

Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.
So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.
Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank’s relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.
Both Frank and Moses assured the Wall Street Journal in 1992 that they took pains to avoid any conflicts of interest. Critics, however, remain skeptical.
“It’s absolutely a conflict,” said Dan Gainor, vice president of the Business & Media Institute. “He was voting on Fannie Mae at a time when he was involved with a Fannie Mae executive. How is that not germane?
“If this had been his ex-wife and he was Republican, I would bet every penny I have – or at least what’s not in the stock market – that this would be considered germane,” added Gainor, a T. Boone Pickens Fellow.
“But everybody wants to avoid it because he’s gay. It’s the quintessential double standard.”
A top GOP House aide agreed.
“C’mon, he writes housing and banking laws and his boyfriend is a top exec at a firm that stands to gain from those laws?” the aide told FOX News. “No media ever takes note? Imagine what would happen if Frank’s political affiliation was R instead of D? Imagine what the media would say if [GOP former] Chairman [Mike] Oxley’s wife or [GOP presidential nominee John] McCain’s wife was a top exec at Fannie for a decade while they wrote the nation’s housing and banking laws.”
Frank’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Frank met Moses in 1987, the same year he became the first openly gay member of Congress.
“I am the only member of the congressional gay spouse caucus,” Moses wrote in the Washington Post in 1991. “On Capitol Hill, Barney always introduces me as his lover.”
The two lived together in a Washington home until they broke up in 1998, a few months after Moses ended his seven-year tenure at Fannie Mae, where he was the assistant director of product initiatives. According to National Mortgage News, Moses “helped develop many of Fannie Mae’s affordable housing and home improvement lending programs.”
Critics say such programs led to the mortgage meltdown that prompted last month’s government takeover of Fannie Mae and its financial cousin, Freddie Mac. The giant firms are blamed for spreading bad mortgages throughout the private financial sector.

LAS VEGAS — Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.
A Nevada secretary of state’s office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators are looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.
No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.
Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names.
The raid comes two months after state and federal authorities formed a task force to pursue election-fraud allegations in Nevada.

Nevada state authorities seized records and computers Tuesday from the Las Vegas office of an organization that tries to get low-income people registered to vote, after fielding complaints of voter fraud.
Bob Walsh, spokesman for the Nevada secretary of state’s office, told FOXNews.com the raid was prompted by ongoing complaints about “erroneous” registration information being submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also called ACORN.
The group was submitting the information through a voter sign-up drive known as Project Vote.
“Some of them used nonexistent names, some of them used false addresses and some of them were duplicates of previously filed applications,” Walsh said, describing the complaints, which largely came from the registrar in Clark County, Nev. He said some registrations used the names of Dallas Cowboys football players.
Walsh said agents from both the secretary of state’s office and Nevada attorney general’s office conducted the raid, and “took a bunch of stuff.”
ACORN spokesman Charles Jackson confirmed the group’s Nevada office was raided.
It’s not the first time ACORN’s been under investigation for irregularities in registration records.
In 2006, ACORN committed what Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed called the “worse case of election fraud” in the state’s history.
In the case, ACORN submitted just over 1,800 new voter registration forms, and all but six of the 1,800 names were fake.
The question for voters should be to make Senator Obama explain HIS policies. His referring to his web page for a more explicit explanation is tantamount to saying, “Here. Ask my advisers to explain it because I really don’t know!”
Voters should insist that Obama explain his entire history — the divergence between what he writes in a book and says on the stump. He should explain why he wrote a frontpiece for Ayers’ book. He should explain why he took so long to repudiate Pastor Wright and his hate-America theology. Obama should explain why he feels free to criticize some of us for “clinging to our guns” when he faces a different, “elite” audience.
No one knows who the senator from Illinois truly is because the media fails to look into stories that are counter to the Obama mystique. And, the lack of a free and unbiased press is the problem. Even today, the Drudge is reporting that Corsi, a reporter who has written about Obama before, is being detained in Kenya because Corsi’s next release is not favorable to Obama! What kind of world is this?
Senator McCain is a known quantity. Senator Obama is not. If the media did its job, maybe these questions would be answered because, right now, no one knows who the Democratic nominee is.
Ayers and Obama crossed paths on boards, records show

Obama confirmed during that April debate that he knew Ayers “AS A GUY WHO LIVES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD.”
When pressed, Obama said they served on a charitable board together.
… But the relationship between Obama and Ayers went deeper, ran longer and was more political than Obama — and his surrogates — have revealed, documents and interviews show.
… For seven years, Ayers and Obama — among many others — worked on funding for education projects, including some projects advocated by Ayers.
… “The specific job of the board of directors was to give out the money,” said Stanley Kurtz, a conservative researcher for the Ethics and Public Policy Center and frequent Obama critic.
“Instead of giving money directly to schools, they gave money to what they call external partners and these partners were often pretty radical community organizer groups,” said Kurtz, who also has been reviewing the Annenberg Challenge’s recently released records.
The board, for example, gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Bill Ayers’ small schools project. The project promoted alternative education, including projects like the Peace School — where the curriculum centered on a United Nations theme — and another school where the focus was African-American studies.
The funding, according to Kurtz and records CNN reviewed, came directly from the Annenberg foundation which Obama chaired. The project shut down in 2003 after achieving “little impact on school improvement and student outcomes,” its final report stated.
While working on the Annenberg project, Obama and Ayers also served together on a second charitable foundation, the Woods Fund. It was that foundation that Obama referenced in the debate — not the Annenberg Challenge.
Among Wood Foundation recipients were the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church, where Obama attended and was married; and the Children and Family Justice Center, where Ayers’ wife Dohrn was director.
For Obama, the chairmanship of the $100 million Annenberg board helped vault him from a South Side lawyer to political player. And there, too, is an Ayers connection.
In 1995, months after the little-known Obama became Annenberg chairman, state Sen. Alice Palmer introduced the young lawyer as her political heir apparent. The introduction was made over coffee at the home of Ayers and Dohrn. Two people who attended the event told CNN the introduction of Obama included a solicitation for campaign funds.
Obama and Ayers had a connection not just through the education and charity boards, but in the area of juvenile justice. Obama praised Ayers’ book on the subject in a 1997 Chicago Tribune review, calling it “a searing and timely account of the juvenile court system, and the courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair.
In an event organized by Obama’s wife Michelle, then-Illinois state Sen. Obama was listed as a panelist along with Ayers on a discussion involving juvenile justice issues.

The McCain campaign circulated a scathing statement Wednesday from John Murtagh, who described how when he was 9 years old, “the terrorist group founded by Barack Obama’s friend William Ayers, fire bombed my house.”
The statement went on to say, “Barack Obama’s friend tried to kill my family.”
McCain and running mate Sarah Palin did not address Ayers at a joint rally Wednesday in Bethlehem, Pa., instead focusing on the economy and questioning Obama’s credentials.
“Who is the real Senator Obama?” McCain asked. “We can’t change the system with someone who’s never fought the system.”
But McCain’s wife Cindy slammed Obama for, in her words, not supporting her son when he voted against the Iraq war funding bill last year.
Obama’s vote “sent a cold chill through my body,” she said.
“He’s not willing to drill for energy, but he’s sure willing to drill for votes,” Palin said, eliciting cheers of “Drill, baby, drill” from the crowd, which often interrupted the candidates during their joint appearance.
McCain’s remarks about Obama were interrupted with shouts of “socialist,” “terrorist” and “liar.” At another time, a man in the bleaches shouted “No more ACORN,” referring to a group that registers poor voters.
“We’ve all heard what he’s said. But it’s less clear what he’s done, or what he will do,” McCain said.
The crowd replied with chants, “Nobama.”
Similarly, Palin said there were too many questions about Obama’s past: “John McCain didn’t just come out of nowhere. The American people know John McCain.”
Advisers say the Republican ticket will continue this forceful tone as the campaign enters its final months. Obama leads in national and state polls; McCain is looking for a way to change that.
“Which candidate’s experience, in government and in life, makes him a more reliable leader for our country and commander in chief for our troops?” McCain said. “In short, who is ready to lead?”
McCain’s speech centered on policies that would help the working class voters in this region where the race is close. Obama lost Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and has struggled to connect with the white, working-class voters he once said cling to guns and religion in times of economic uncertainty.
“What Sen. Obama says today and what he has done in the past are often two different things,” McCain said.
Citing taxes, health care and energy, McCain appealed to voters’ pocketbooks and lingering doubts about Obama.

A Democratic state representative’s son has been indicted by a grand jury in Tennessee for intentionally hacking into Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s personal e-mail account.
The grand jury in Knoxville, Tenn., returned the indictment on Oct. 7, charging David C. Kernell, 20, son of state Rep. Michael Kernell of Memphis, with intentionally accessing Palin’s Yahoo e-mail account.

According to the indictment, Kernell allegedly reset the account password and gained access after answering a series of security questions. He allegedly read her e-mail, made screen shots of her directory, e-mails and personal information and posted them to a public Web site on Sept. 16.
