Obama Says Iraq Surge Success Beyond `Wildest Dreams’ … Funny John McCain Thought is would be a Reality not a Dream

A President makes tough decisions … they don’t hope that something works, they have the conviction that it will. John McCain has shown that metal to lead, Obama has shown that he would have cut and run in Iraq and grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory.

Being the President of the United States means one must have vision and the ability to lead. Being President means that one is the Commander and Chief of our Armed Forces and must make sometimes unpopular decisions in order to win a war. After months of success in Iraq, Barack Obama last night on Bill O’Reilly had to finally admit that the surge worked in Iraq. Obama stated the surge “succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”

Barack Obama said the surge of American forces in Iraq has “succeeded beyond our wildest dreams,” though Iraqis still haven’t done enough to take responsibility for their country.

“The surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated,” Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, …

Obama has come under repeated criticism from Republican rival John McCain for opposing President George W. Bush’s decision last year to send 20,000 extra combat troops to Iraq. While Obama said before that the additional forces have damped insurgent violence, his comments on the program were some of the strongest he’s made on the issue.

No Mr. Obama, the surge worked beyond your defeatist mentality and dreams. It succeeded as John McCain had intended it to and that is why he threw his support behind it when many ran from it. As John McCain stated last night during his acceptance speech at the RNC.

I fought for the right strategy and more troops in Iraq, when it wasn’t a popular thing to do. And when the pundits said my campaign was finished, I said I’d rather lose an election than see my country lose a war.

Been over on gretawire reading about Oprah won’t have Palin on her show, she says she won’t use her show for political purposes, however Obama has been on her show once or twice.. Poll was 97% against Oprah..33,000 plus.

saw this comment from a woman who said she is black.

Hillary was the one until those two men got together with the dem party and decided to cheat by keeping him john edwards in the primary until he stole all those votes.
had people known he was having an affair and baby on the side while his wife was ill, he would have resigned and hillary would have won. the way they treated hillary the republicans need to take this race because the dem party is a bunch of crooks who mistreat women.

obama is still lying about saying he would immediately withdraw all american troops from iraq regardless of the situation. he either doesn’t remember vietnam or it didn’t matter to him what would happen in iraq to fill the vacuum. he says he always wins, but i guess it just matters that he personally wins and doesn’t matter at all what happens to our nation or it’s reputation.

watch obama’s interview with oreilly this next week and compare his hemming and hawing, and diversions from answering questions and the uhs and ahs and silences while he tries to formulate answers he thinks will get him votes or cover an earlier lie or mistake. and this is one on one in a quiet atmosphere with no other distractions.

watch palin’s interviews conducted while she’s supervising her children, putting up their hair,
answering their questions, supervising homework and generally being a great mother. she doesn’t hesitate to give direct succinct answers to the interviewers questions without any ambiguities or doubt and leaves no doubt in your mind what she meant and leaving no doubt that her answers will be the same tomorrow, given the same circumstances being discussed.

after doing this, tell me which one you want answering that 3 a.m. telephone call and which one you will believe when they have to explain what the emergency is and what they have all ready done and intend to do to save our collective butts from the catastrophe. personally, i’ll go for sarah palin and john mccain.

every human being on this earth makes mistakes. you cannot learn from them if you cannot be honest enough to admit them.

well said dennis.. My problem with Obama is I am not sure what he believes, because he changes what he says depends on where he is located.. Today he is calling Palin a flip flopper. You would think he is running against Palin instead of McCain..

On the other hand I agree with Richard also.. Sometimes I have little faith in politicians in DC. They still collect their paychecks and have done nothing this year it seems.

Last night CNN dragged out old faithful Michael Moore the a$$.. for Larry King Show, only thing worse is listening to Keith Olberman or Andrea Mitchell.. She asked Guilliani the other night if he thought he was a little hard on Obama.

Tom Brokaw’s Meet the Press this week was as prosaic as ever, but for one little line uttered by the increasingly partisan Andrea Mitchell. In a discussion about the McCain VP pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, guest Doris Kerns Goodwin, plagiarist/historian, said that the choice of Palin is a “very strange choice,” showing how little she bothered to even think about the facts. But the most outrageous analysis came from Mitchell who said that only uneducated, female voters will be drawn to Sarah Palin, not those smart, college educated ones.

Then there is this US Weekly Headline with Sarah Palin’s pic saying Babies, Lies & Scandals(Quite funny from a crowd that supports Hollywood)

OSAMA Barack HUSSEIN Obama wasn’t MAN enough to ADMIT to Bill O’Reilly that he was WRONG about the surge!! Now ain’t that poop…

America MUST NOT elect OBAMA (the prejudice, arrogant, RADICAL MUSLIM terrorist) president of our 58 (it’s a damn shame OBAMA doesn’t have the intelligence to know how many states are in the Union) United States!!

    7. A New Girl on September 6th, 2008 4:41 pm

#4- Maggie—-you are so right—-look at how Sara Palin intimidates Obama—he’s repeatedly said he won’t smear or get in to the mudslinging–yet here he goes—trying to get to her and use the media to strike out.

Just another sign that he knows he messed up and not only has to contend with John McCain/his experience/etc., but now he’s showing his true colors by letting this lady scare the pants off of him!

Socialist/Coward/Anti-American/Empty Suit/Can’t come up with distinct answers but pretty speeches read eloquently from a teleprompter/won’t define himself/inexperienced/vascillating/has ties with the wrong kind of people in his past/how’s Reverend Wright the Racist who you finally kicked to the curb/lacking of character/no military background/community organizer..lol/Great the public is finally seeing you for what you are/try again in 2012/The Chosen One My Ass/Barack Hussien Obama!

    8. A New Girl on September 6th, 2008 4:49 pm

No guts, no glory. Think he is kicking himself in the butt now for not picking Hillary as his VP?

He just couldn’t swallow his pride or put his ego aside long enough to give a capable woman her just due. Wow, he really screwed her. People have to stop blaming Bill! Barack Hussien Obama flatly rejected her then picks the wind-bag Biden. Huge slap in the face.

McCain, the Maverick- cocked the gun and pulled the trigger! Bam! This week it was so nice to see Sara Palin, John McCain and their families on the cover of every magazine and paper I picked up instead of us being over-saturated with the cult celebrity of Obama. He sold us the image, no substenance. No experience and NO COURAGE.

Think about it—we can’t have someone with the spine of a jelly fish as our Commander in Chief, can we???

    9. dennisintn on September 6th, 2008 5:31 pm

is howard gutman about to be thrown under the bus? remember obama making that manly statement about candidates families being off limits and gutman’s statement about sarah’s daughter that was played on fox tonight definitely break that promise. so we’ll see whether he’s going to throw his worthless gut under the bus.

      @Susan

i think using the name Osama to describe a presidential nominee is pretty offensive to any american.
not only to democrats who lost their loved ones on 9/11.
i don’t think mccain wants people who use such language to vote for him.

    11. Susan on September 7th, 2008 10:22 am

caesu – No one in the United States of America would be offended by me adding OSAMA to Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s name. After all, they are both TWO OF A KIND, RADICAL MUSLIM TERRORISTS!!

SM: Do you seriously believe that Obama is a radical muslim terrorist? Really? Seriously? (klaasend)

    12. Susan on September 7th, 2008 7:03 pm

Yes, I really, seriously believe Obama is a “radical muslim terrorist”. If he is elected president, Americans may as well grabbed their ankles, and kiss their butts goodbye.
      _________________________
SM: So you actually believe that George Bush is doing such a rotten job as President that he would allow a “radical muslim terrorist” run for president? Really? (klaasend)

    13. Susan on September 8th, 2008 3:22 am

I never said Bush was doing a rotten job, so don’t put words in my mouth. Do you actually believe Bush or anyone else has the power to control who the Democrats nominate as their candidate? Get a grip klaasend…
      _____________________________
SM: No I don’t believe that Bush can control who the Democrats nominate. I thought he would stop a muslim terrorist though ;) . In fact, I would think a terrorist would be arrested awaiting trial (klaasend)

    14. Susan on September 8th, 2008 3:56 pm

Okay, klaasend, I get your message and agree :-) Sorry if I got a little short with you :-(

You are right, if OSAMA Barack HUSSEIN Obama was a terrorist running for office in the US, especially the presidency, he’d be locked up in a heartbeat. Let’s hope so anyway…

I voted for George Bush twice and not ashame to admit it. I’d be one of the last people here to bash him, well, not too severely anyway…lol.

I still get pissed off when anyone mentions Clinton and Carter in my presence. Reagan didn’t make me too happy when he talked about (and definitely got the ball rolling) reducing the size of the federal government back in the mid 80s, but I’m finally getting over it the closer I get to retirement :-)
