the 3 yr anniversary is coming up…..this is the letter/email i’ve been sending to every TV network/station I can find, national and local. if everyone would take a minute to do the same maybe they would do a special anniversary for natalee.

The 3 year anniversary of the rape/murder/disappearance of American citizen Natalee Holloway is fast approaching (May). While most of the American news channels have done stories on this tragedy in the early days of the crime, most have let it fall by the wayside. The news media would report on this tragedy in the early stages when it was “big news” and they could boost their ratings. Now that is has died down. I feel that it is imperative that we as Americans and American news media keep Natalee’s story alive and never let it die until justice is served. she was an American citizen, one of our own. misskatie……exactly my point that we posters who do care and try to keep the case alive should invest in a few stamps, a few emails and a little bit of time and send a request to each of the networks to keep it alive untill justice is served. (or untill the whole island sinks into the ocean). i’m hoping Greta will pick the story up again especially now since ATA have threatened to sue!! i think greta’s exact words were “bring it on!”. I hope she will, as well as geraldo, o’reilly, 20/20, dateline,larry king, diane sawyer, nancy grace, kimberly guilfoyle, all of the big guns.

Good idea about sending letters to the media. We need to keep Natalee in the spotlight until she gets justice. Sad thing is, the Aruban government will never give her justice. They don’t care what happens to the good people of Aruba so long as their drug lords can still operate, so long as judges and their sons can still rape and murder tourists, so long as they can human traffic women and children etc.

greta lost alot of credibility with me when she had joran on her show….he some how convinced her that he was innocent … he fooled her like many others.he foooled.. after going to aruba with beth and seeing the attiudes of the three boys she still believed joran.she spoke with pauulus and anita and was convinced that joran did kill natalee with the help of the kalpoe brothers.than she has joran on her show and suddenly he convinces her he is innocent…. how lame is that… she turned her back on beth… I think… than later when she heard his confession she said.. she was fooled… and felt like a fool… it angered her…. it was to late..

I agree but I have my doubts about greta and the other T.V stations that in the begining were gunho in keeping the story alive…. than .. joran appears on her show… she suddenly takes the idea that perhaps he is not guilty… he fooled her for sometime.didnt he?..it wasnt. until the taped confession.that. she than changed her tune…
in the begining when she covered the story in aruba… and after being at the vandersloots with beth talking to them…AND AND .. AND .. even after all that she had seen and heard in aruba… joran was still able to make her a believer…this must of been a slap in the face for beth…at greta wire there is hardly any mention of natalee or the case….I am led to believe that it is all about ratings and money with them…. on greta wire they have silly things like pictures of puppies and other things that I feel are less important as to keep natalees story alive..

Misskatie (#16) … I don’t think Greta vS or ANY of the big media ever gave much of a damn about Natalee, except as a story and as a way to boost ratings. I’m sure that they had at least the normal degree of human sympathy for Beth and Dave (we NEVER seem to hear from Dave Holloway anymore), but the saga on Aruba to them was just … a story.
And that’s what it will remain to them.

It’s not “just” Natalee now, it’s basic justice for her, for her family, and for all other Americans. The world doesn’t seem to be getting any safer; let’s demand justice where we can.

I am very excited to be able to go to the trade show in Houston. It is good to be able to do something tangible for Natalee and for other missing girls. God wants people to stand up for what is right. I am thankful that we live in the area and don’t have to get a hotel room. Hotels are not cheap in Houston, so Richard is right- it is an investment for those who are from out of town. Praise God for all that is being done to stop the sex trade and violation of young girls. It is His will that we stand for those who have been victimized. Speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Stand for what is right.

I just mailed vicky a check.. and would be more than happy to send a check to help with every travel show.. every little bit counts…every little bit adds up to more when everyone puts somethingthing into the kettle… I may say that I just got my copy of beths book.. and whomever made the comment to me that once you start reading the book you cant put it down..and thats so true…. it brings to life the events of beths journey into the search for natalee… a very strong woman and determined with so much tenacity.. god bless you beth… in her book she mentioned red and scared monkeys… how neat … she thanked scared monkeys for their support…may god give her final closure one day when and if the body is recovered… and more so may the people that took part in her death.. stand accountable for their trangressions…… the more I hear about pauulus the more I get this weird strange feeling that theres more to his connection with the shadiest of shady people… he thinks he is home free.. that will never happen… never…. just wait and see…

As for Joran, he is either in a mental institution or hiding out with his uncle. If he is hiding someone will eventually spot him. When your that tall and where a size 14 shoe, not difficult to go unnoticed.

Now Aruba has still another problem, the Portuguese man-of -war are washing up on shore…a special type of jelly fish of which the upper body consists of a purple balloon that can grow to approximately 15 centimeters. The underlying tentacles can become meters long and can paralyze an unsuspecting swimmer in such a way that he/she can drown.
So now you have to stay out of water….Natalee is sending messages from the sea….

Time and again, this inane argument about crime in America vs. ‘safe’ Aruba is brought up.
Nobody has ever disputed that there is far too much crime in the U.S. We all wish that it were not the case, but it is.
Has our government denied it?
Has our government tried to cover it up?
Has our government blamed the victims, or their families?
No? Aruba has done all of these … and continues to do so.
Last I knew, people were continuing to flock to this country in search of a better life. That hope springs eternal, and may it always do so.
So, Aruba, if you’re so safe (which we all know to be a lie) … do what we’re asking. It’s not complex. Give us answers in Natalee’s case. Prosecute those involved, sentence them, see that the sentences are served, and do so without fear or favor.
In other words, give us justice. That simple.

The answer to the question of the missing women is..Leta Lynn Cordes disappeared from St. Maarten, another Dutch island. She is a US citizen and she and her husband own a home there. There is controversy as to whether she actually made to the casino or not. Walking down a lonely dark road at night….perhaps it all happened before or after….she may have won money at the casino and someone was watching….people like island atmosphere and forget about the danger of those waiting…another shame!!! Sometimes we forget about all the bad people that want to do us harm…simply because we are not like that!!!
I think Beth works with Greta looking for all the avenues and has been more than fair…but it always comes back to Joran…now it’s time for Greta to highlight the doings of Joran….let’s here more Greta…do something with your media and help Beth with the prosecution of Joran….

from what I read so far in beth’s book. It tells of the seedy side of town… where the crack addicts live… they are provided vacant bldgs with flags over head.by the aruban govt… The addicts rob the tourist people they drug them and take all their money and ATM OR DEBIT cards and discard the person on the beach like garbage.. once their accounts are depleted… tourists go to the islands innocently… they get caught up in the , fantasy and the exotic looks of the island and atmosphere.. not realizing that danger lurks there… more so because of the addicts who are willing to do anything to finance their addiction. people stalked and preyed upon….it doesnt appeal to me to take such a risk … but anyways many women and children go missing in the caribbean and are probably victims of human trafficking… some murdered.. for the same of killing…like joran and his father and the two ugly dark kalpoes…I am begining to see beths ordeal come to life right before my eyes as I read on about all she had to deal with in a foreign country that had no regard for americans.. and yet they welcome the tourists money like greedy animals that they are…I hope that no more high school trips will ever be allowed to go there or to any other island… they can thank pauulus for all the loss in money….. he was mean and hateful with beth.. how it infuriates me to see how they treated her and her family on the island.. they are a bunch of savages…heartless… inhumane … animals….God hear our prayers…. please bring justice for natalee….. we need you to intervene and bring peace to the holloways…

to those of you who commented on my #35 posting that was edited by klassend(and rightfully so)that was the 1st time i had ever been to GretaWire blog. the response by the poster CheriMc was so harsh and mean and i was so taken aback by the negativity. i’m not naive by no means. i’m a 55 yr old grandmother. i have two beautiful daughters and a most precious little redheaded grandson. i know there is cruelty and meaness in the world. i just didn’t think that in this case (natalee’s case) that a person would be so heartless and mean with their comments. i know this is america and we have freedom of speech ,but to be so cruel….i was a little shocked. since then i have looked at other blogs out there and whoever “CheriMc” is has posted on other blogs things that are just as harsh. i won’t be going back to gretawire. there was not much support for the cause that people have here. i wonder, if CheriMc, or others who post such negative remarks had a child of their own who suffered the same fate as natalee and , as parents, suffered the worst nightmare a parent can face, heartbreak, pain, fear, terror, I wonder would they be as harsh and so quick to offer such mean and uncaring remarks. i’m ever hopeful that all of our prayers will be answered one day. so i’ll stay right here with posters who share a common bond and keep the case alive till justice is served.

This was known by the aruban police. It’s disgusting the things you find along the way as you read different articles but this was a police news report.

Somehow I missed the latest examination results for Joran’s confession that was posted last week by Dr.Andrew Hodges on his website: Forensic Thoughtprints. His work and conclusions are amazing:

Date Rape Drug in Holloway Case Not GHB but Ecstasy—It’s the Plan, Stupid
After examining the overt confession secretly recorded in Holland in which Joran reported that Natalee suddenly experienced a seizure and expired, many commentators have correctly speculated that she had been drugged prior to being sexually assaulted. Most commonly, experts have speculated that GHB was used since it has been reported to lead to seizures.
In a feature story on February 15, 2007 entitled “Was Natalee Holloway Drugged?” ABC News quoted one expert who said, “If you gave me a choice based on [van der Sloot’s description of the convulsions], alcohol would be lowest on the list and GHB the highest”—this from Paul Doering, distinguished service professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy. Other experts variously noted that the supposed seizure leading to Holloway’s death was compatible with GHB or more distantly alcohol poisoning.
Once again the media makes the same mistake Aruban investigators have repeatedly made which is to take literally everything Joran said—even though experienced investigators know perpetrators rarely confess to the whole truth. Add to this the fact that Joran’s apparent confession was filled with lies (e.g. the supposed boat driver, Daury, wasn’t on the island, nor did he own a boat, nor was he an exceptionally intimate friend of Joran’s). Not only that, but the apparent confession was largely favorable to Joran himself in the sense that he described “completely voluntary sex” and a “totally accidental death.”
Contrast this with the truth of the matter—a brutal gang rape took place which led to Natalee’s aspiration death caused by choking her after drugging her. Those events were revealed in my forensic profile of hidden confessions between the lines of Deepak’s crucial emails to a surrogate grandmother, all three suspects’ police interviews and Joran’s book. The same scenario is the one thought most likely by many familiar with the case including Dave Holloway and the Birmingham entourage which arrived in Aruba with Beth and Jug Twitty on the first night after Natalee went missing and who stood face to face with Joran, Deepak and Paulus. Unquestionably those most closely involved in the case from the beginning have long suspected a group sexual assault involving both Joran and the Kalpoe brothers—who were diligently cleaning Deepak’s Honda early the next morning while trying to hide from observant neighbors. And we can’t forget the first story which the three suspects tried to spin in which they all three dropped her off at the Holiday Inn. That’s clearly a lie but note the secret truth contained within it: indeed all three guys were with Natalee all the way to the bitter end.
Thinking logically as investigators, we can see there are convincing reasons why the three boys would not drug Natalee with a “knock-out” drug such as GHB. Typically, GHB (Gamma Hydroxyl Butyrate) renders the victim unconscious for several hours before she typically wakes up the next morning trying to recall the previous night’s events. To quickly accomplish their goal, the three suspects wanted not an unconscious Natalee on their hands but a “willing” victim plied with alcohol and an aphrodisiac drug which left her cooperative but completely conscious. Do you believe the three suspects planned to have an unconscious victim on their hands, a comatose girl who they would then have to roll out of the car at the Holiday Inn lobby while they sped off into the night?
Such a scene would be totally inconsistent with Joran’s previously successful method described in police interviews in which, prior to a sexual seduction, he reportedly spiked a girl’s drink with a drug which made her lips tingle. And it wasn’t consistent with his m.o. for “last night of vacation” pick-ups of tourist girls who were eager for one final taste of freedom before returning home to the real world. Such a scene would also be inconsistent with Deepak popping in a porno video at a crucial point during Natalee’s ride around the island with the three boys—something she objected to strongly according to police interviews. Obviously, not only was Natalee quite conscious during the ride but she was resisting implied overtures to engage in group sex.
Yet Natalee’s behavior—both bad judgment and a euphoric mood as she giddily called out to friends from the backseat of Deepak’s Honda after leaving Carlos’n Charlie’s—suggested she had been drugged with something which left her fully conscious but somewhat impaired. Consider the known facts that Ecstasy use is extremely common in Aruba and it often produces, in combination with alcohol, an almost irresistible aphrodisiac effect. Those factors make Ecstasy (Methylenedioxy-N-Methylamphetamine, a.k.a. MDMA) a much more likely possibility. All this before we examine Deepak’s detailed thoughtprint profile in his extensive email to his surrogate American grandmother, Betty, some five days after Natalee’s disappearance (see my book, “Into The Deep—The Hidden Confession of Natalee’s Killer”). Decoding that email, Deepak not only confessed that the boys carried out a clear plan of putting “a li’l something” in Natalee’s drink, but specifically identified that drug as Ecstasy. (Note that at key points in his story when describing Natalee having a drink with Joran, Deepak repeatedly referenced “etc.etc.” suggesting “e-t-c” or “ex-t-c”—ecstasy.) For the record, well informed sources have reported Joran frequently used Ecstasy.
Certainly with Joran reporting a sudden death in a young and otherwise healthy Natalee, a suspected drugging was a good deduction by observers—but concluding it was GHB was the wrong drug, wrong place. As noted, the thoughtprint profile of Deepak’s email particularly revealed the boys had carefully planned the assault from Deepak’s suggested timeline, leaving Carlos’n Charlie’s at 1:15 and arriving at their secret “side of the road” destination at 1:30 a.m. where Deepak made Natalee the offer of voluntary group sex beginning with his porno video.
The profile went on to show that Natalee strongly resisted and fought like a tiger while the boys then gang raped her. (Remember Joran reported at one point Natalee had vociferously told him not to touch her, even pushing him away.) In the process the boys carried out their well-planned attack by stripping Natalee so as not to send her home with torn clothes and using condoms to prevent leaving evidence of the assault. Deepak revealed this when reporting sexual contact between Joran and Natalee in his car’s backseat. He noted, “his [Joran’s] hands etc was in her blouse but nothing nude or against Natalee’s will.” His completely unnecessary and overt denial of such important details clues us in to exactly what took place. (For the record, a detailed denial of what did not happen is a classic way perpetrators reveal the truth. Also for the record, Deepak suggested between the lines of his email that Natalee suddenly and unexpectedly died at 2 a.m., the exact time Joran mentioned in his secretly recorded confession.) Obviously, the three assailants were hoping that following the well-planned gang rape Natalee would return home the next day, completely embarrassed and not wanting to face a public hearing.
There is one last important fact to suggest Ecstasy not GHB was the “drug du jour.” Ecstasy combined with excessive alcohol, a noose around your neck and the emotionality of a horrific gang rape predisposes the victim to vomiting. Recall, too, early in the three suspects’ stories Joran noted how “paranoid” Deepak was about Natalee possibly throwing up in his car—something the media has long since forgotten. Interestingly, in its story ABC did quote another expert (Paul Kolecki, of the emergency medicine department at ThomasJeffersonUniversity’s JeffersonMedicalCollege) who pointed out that “other drugs like cocaine or Ecstasy could cause convulsions when mixed with too much alcohol.”
Stay tuned for a follow-up article in which we will see that Deepak’s profile fits remarkably well with a type of seizure leading to Natalee’s death—but not the specific type Joran pictured. Once again media experts make the continual mistake of taking Joran too literally instead of reading his thoughts in a deeper, more accurate way which we have discovered leads to the truth. It all comes back to what experts on the inner workings of communication—those of us involved in research with the unconscious mind—have learned about how the human mind actually confesses in an accurate, symbolic way. We now know that a guilty suspect cannot stop himself from unconsciously (subliminally) telling the truth. Criminologists refer to the science of examining communication from suspects for psychological clues as psycholinguistics, but most of those engaged in that field have yet to learn or are stubbornly ignoring the breakthrough to the unconscious mind which has led to a much deeper and vastly more accurate newer application of psycholinguistics.”

Always 1 (#78) … I’ve looked at the Shango stuff. It’s drawn a LOT of speculation, with most people concluding that it was sent by someone who wanted to pass on information about Natalee and what happened to her, but didn’t dare speak out directly for some reason.
That idea never made much sense to me. If Shango knew something for certain, an anonymous call to the FBI would have sufficed. And there was a substantial reward.
I’m really going out on a limb here, and I don’t think many people will agree … but I’ve long suspected that Shango was someone in Joran’s circle who was carrying on a kind of pathological game.
If Joran is indeed psychotic (and I’m not going to say that it’s true, not being qualified to say so and not knowing how much of the background we hear is true), he might indeed revel in the idea that he can outsmart the Aruban police (THAT shouldn’t be difficult) and everyone else.
And, of course, any sense of importance that he might have is derived from Natalee’s case. Indeed, for nearly three years he has come out “on top” (in a way, at least) in his clashes with Aruban police. He has become infamous worldwide … something which, to a psychotic, probably is peachy keen.
So is it possible that some of the ‘Pimps,’ with better English than Joran seems to command, was complicit in working out these teasing allusions?

SM: If you are asking my opinion of who is responsible for what happened to Natalee my answer would be Joran, Paulus and the Kalpoes but there may be others also involved. IMO, there are many involved in covering up the crime. I do believe that Shango & Simian either knew what happened or had a pretty good idea what happened and they were trying to tell us in the “safest” way they could. (klaasend)

These are the best pictures yet of the lighthouse. The restaurant use to be the lighthouse keeper’s residence. It you read the plaque, this is true.
I have speculated that there was a tunnel from the light keepers residence to the lighthouse (I’m sure I read this somewhere, but I can not find it).
I began to have doubts about the feasibility of cutting though solid rock in order to make a tunnel, but if you read the plaque, where does it say they got the building materials for the lighthouse?
To answer the above question, it says they got all the rock right there. It says they cut the rock right there. Why not make a tunnel, if you are harvesting rock anyway? Why not incorporate the rock harvest into another useful project.
Look at the picture of the three guys standing over a square piece of cement. It looks like a manhole. Anyone agree?
Look at the front picture of the lighthouse. I really would be possible to hid something under the steps.

Shango and Simian disagree…whoever they are I think they have been close to the case, seems logical that it would be someone in the police dept. Could be the 2 policeman that were seen at the lighthouse shoveling sand into the trunk of the police cruiser, seen by Dave. Or could be those that were painting the rocks, whoever they were. There was a policeman that told Dave in the very beginning that Natalee was in the ocean.

What really matters right now is … what can WE do to promote justice for Natalee? The best answer that we’ve come up with so far is to put pressure on Aruba by encouraging Americans not to go there, and to keep Aruba aware that we will not forget about the case and will not go away.

There are no guarantees that encouraging a boycott of Aruba will get justice in this case.
But what other tool do we have? Trusting Aruba to do the right thing?
And remember, it’s no longer “just” about Natalee … it’s letting the world know that the money powers … the ones who profit from travel to Aruba … aren’t going to lift a finger for YOU if YOU go missing there, either.
Pathetic, isn’t it? Nobody in our government or business community will lift a finger for Natalee?

It is possible to have a good parent who has a really rotten, evil, demented kid. Take for example Franklin Graham. Good news is with a good parent, they normally turn out okay, like Franklin.
When you have an innately evil kid, being raised by innately evil parents, watch out. In this situation anything is possible, even murder. They never seem to be okay, even if they are taken away from the evil parents at a young age and raised by another family.
The other side of the coin is this: a rotten parent raising an innately good child. God protects the child and turns everything evil into something good. These kids always turn out good, like my wife.

i agree with richard….ALL of us have so many unanswered questions and we’ve all tried to formulate some sort of scenario in our minds that makes sense. you know, i’m always hopeful that natalee will be found. god hear our prayers. BUT, and there is always the but……the possibiliy of that happening appears to be very slim. but justice can be served with the prosecution of those involved. i agree with Richard. Boycott where it hits aruba the most…in the bank accounts. like it has already. all concerned american citizensseeking justice for natalee must do their little part, no matter how small. geez….i sound like a bleeding heart. well, i am in this case. keep the pressure on aruba. whatever it takes. boycott the cruise lines, travel agencies, american corporations that do business in aruba, tv programs like regis and keyy that continue to give away trips to aruba. i think i have written over 100 letters in the last few months to all of the above mentioned. i have written the state dept, my state congressmen, senators , conde rice, the fbi, the coast guard, the dutch government at the hague, the queen bea. i’ve even written the aruban government, addressing each letter to specific individuals. i’ve written to all of our major national tv news media, the BBC, asking them to please keep this case alive. i don’t know what good it will do but i remain hopeful. i have had only one response; the dutch prosecutors office informed me that they are not handling this case and refered me to the aruban prosecutor. surprised? anyway, what is a few rolls of stamps, or some emails if someone, even one person, one business starts thinking that maybe, just maybe something needs to be done.
i think more pressure needs to be put on our own american fbi and state department. perhaps if they received a landslide of letters or emails, phone calls requesting a reinvestigation maybe it would get them moving, again. as i said, i’m ever hopeful.
bought the t-shirts, the books, the bumper stickers. got my vacation days off for the June boycott in DC. (I live in NC….DC is closer for me). when someone asks me about the teeshirt or the boycott aruba bumper sticker I launch into a speech about what happened. i’ve bought quite a few of the books online from amazon.com for as little as $2.88 and put them in doctors offices, waiting rooms, dentists office, i donated mine to our library, put some in the candystriper bin at the hospital. get the word out. i’ve printed up flyers so i can post them on windshield in mall parking lots for the june boycott.
what else can we do? pray every day. pray every day for a miracle for natalee.

the june boycott in washington dc….i went to http://www.actsdc.com to check it out. appears Dr. Alan Greenspan will be the guest speaker. anyone know how to get in touch with greenspan. perhaps if he is inundated with letters regarding the concerns we have about natalees case and the way it was covered up in aruba, maybe that will shed a new light on his speech as he prepares it. maybe.
also, the webpage states the influential policy makers, political representatives, tourism and investment representatives will be in attendance. a very good opportunity to boycott.

what the hell is wrong with all these people from america that give free tickets to aruba… such as in the case of the view… I wrote them that I would never watch their program again and told them why.

I’m very sorry for the pain you’ve had to endure all these years. I totally understand your motivation, and dedication to your daughter Natalee. I, too, have gone through a similar experience. But, it wasn’t in Aruba – it was in Austria. In August 1989, my 23-year old son vanished while snowboarding on a licensed ski slope. Evidence pointed to a cover-up, by the ski operator, and worse, by authorities. We carried on our own investigation for fourteen years. In 2003, Duncan’s body was found in the middle of the ski slope. Global warming over the 90s caused the glacier ice to melt down to the level of where he had been buried in the crevasse. Injuries showed he had been hit by a snow grooming machine, and then dumped in a crevasse, and covered up. The investigation of death was a sham – corruption at every level, from the coroner through to the police, public prosecutor, forensic pathologist, Ministry of Justice.
I totally understand your need to know what happened to Natalee. For those fourteen years that Duncan was “missing” were so very, very difficult. We knew that when we did find the answer, it would not be good news – but there is still a very deep need to see your child, even if he/she is dead. You want to know what happened. Surely as parents it’s not too much to ask of any society.
The point is that it is not just Aruba where these things happen. For the past 25 years, because of what happened to Duncan, I have followed other cases of missing young people, including Natalee’s. I can’t begin to tell you in this email all the details, but, there is a clear pattern in countries that survive off tourism to cover-up the true circumstances of the young person’s death – “it’s not good for business.”
The problem is that we are so isolated,and fragmented – it’s Natalee in Aruba, Duncan in Austria, Becky Middleton in Bermuda, Julie ward in Kenya…. the list goes on, and on, and on.
I think the parents/families of these young victims who lose their life through no fault of their own need to unite – we need an international body that regulates investigations of missing young people.
As my husband says, even an animal stands up for its young.
I just wanted you to know that we are so sorry you’ve lost Natalee; I know it’s left a huge hole in your heart that cannot be repaired, ever. But I also know that finding out what happened to her is crucial to her family, and friends.
