Aruban Courts say … its OK to get away with crimes against American tourists.
The courts ignore the confessions and admissions of Joran van der Sloot and deny his rearrest in the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway. The fix has been on since the beginning of this case and the corruption continues as the Courts refuse to arrest Joran Van der Sloot … a person who is obvious implicated in the crime. This does not constitute new legal evidence? Maybe these judges would like to explain what does? Some how in the anti-world, suspect statements and admissions are not new evidence. Why, did Joran say he had killed her in the past?
Joran van der Sloot, the major suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case, will not be rearrested after his recent on-camera confessions. Law court officials on the Dutch Antillean island of Curaçao say that Mr Van der Sloot’s secretly filmed statements that he was with the girl when she died, and that he disposed of her body, do not constitute new legal evidence.
The suspect’s lawyer, Bert de Rooij, claims that his client intentionally lied to the informer who caught the statements on video tape using a hidden camera in his car.
That’s interesting … now Joran Van der Sloot intentionally lied? I thought he was high on pot and did not know what he was saying? How many excuses is the legal system and Aruba willing to make for Joran Van der Sloot?

An appeals court has denied a request by Aruban prosecutors to arrest a Dutch college student in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, his lawyer said in an interview Thursday.
The prosecutors had appealed a decision earlier this month by an Aruban judge that Joran Van der Sloot could not be arrested based on statements he made in a secretly recorded video. The tape showed Van der Sloot saying he was with the Alabama teenager when she died in the Dutch Caribbean island and that he had a friend dump her body at sea.
The appeals court ruled that Van der Sloot’s statements were inconsistent with other evidence and insufficient to hold him, the Dutch student’s lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, told Fox News. He said the investigation remains, he added.
“The statements are in fact disprovable, in large part, by the evidence, the court opined,” Tacopina said.
Tacopina and Aruban officials could not immediately be reached for further comment. (Fox News-Memphis)

We saw this coming when the first Judge denied arrest. No surprise, really. We know the truth, what Joran said all long and what he confessed on the tape.
Aruba’s tourism is dead. Every sane person who reads or hears of this latest development will also boycott. But if we all look at the large picture here. The corruption is so vast, that the criminals running the judicial system and the legal system will sacrifice the entire island and her innocents citizens of safety and a livelihood to protect it’s own vile interests.

As I told you this morning, and as I have been telling you before, by our Dutch law this will not hold in court. The “confession”, it not valid as legal evidence in court. And what did he say ? the girl died from natural reasons (Rum 151).
That does not mean that the judge, or the prosecutor is corrupt, any laywer will tell you, the case does not hold in court. Simply due to lack of valid evidence.

People, for crying out loud, who are you to state that the Aruban prosecution and/or the Curacao court of appeal and/or the Dutch government is corrupt! You don’t even know the Aruban legal system.
I’m certain that mistakes were made in the beginning of the investigation and that perhaps it took longer than it should have had to arrest Joran because of the profession of his father. I’m sure that’s nothing new also in the States.
It is my opinion that the mistakes made were mostly due to the fact that the police didn’t have any experience in this sort of crimes.
Anyway, since Joran revoked his “confession” (which he made stoned) and there is no direct evidence to substantiate this confession, it will be impossible to convict him of anything. Should the prosecution decide to try him anyway and he is acquitted, is is no longer possible to prosecute him afterwards even if the body of Natalee is found.
So, there is no cover-up. This is just the law!
The evidence may still turn up. If Joran was responsible for Natalee’s death, life wonn’t let him off the hook. He’ll end up like O.J. Simpson. Joran will not be able to live a normal life, people will always associate him with the crime. Life pays us back for what we do.

Mistakes were made? How is arresting 2 innocent security guards a mistake? The Chief of Police said it’s “murder” and that he “has seen the evidence.”
The Prosecutor said she had “more than circumstantial evidence.”
Those are not mistakes, that is a coverup. The police knew right away Natalee was dead, but when the guards were proven innocent, it was a “disappearance.”

This whole show is just continuation of organized american blackmail of the investigation from day one.

The only solace I have is to know that when someone kills the rotten piece of shit and his perverted dad that all they have to do is lie and everything will be alright. It will only be a matter of time now.

Just wondering if there were some sick kind of symbolism in that … as if somehow, someone involved with this case was determined to torment the world.
Deetch (#22) is absolutely right … the unsupported word of the chief suspect in this case was enough to “justify” the arrest of two guards never seen with or associated with Natalee.
If we remember the photo, Jan van der Straaten stood by in person, no doubt posing for the cameras as Aruba “cracked the case.”
As I said before, were it not for Beth and Dave, those two guards would have been kept in prison (the “evidence” on THEM would have been enough) and the case would have been “closed.”
I think we can all conclude now that the only hope lies with the Persistence.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the police have or have had her body from day one. They picked her up at the lighthouse area and either buried her in a grave or removed her from the island. I bet Joran doesn’t really know where she is because it was all “handled for him so he could go to school the next day”. If he says anything or Paulus, then they will bring everyone down. To keep the evidence from being evidence, he continually lies. I am sure he was advised to lie by the legal system in Aruba. I think he has anger problems, but am not too sure about the personality disorder. I think Van der Stratten told Joran to behave like this from day one to aid in the cover-up. I think all of his lies are planted and preconceived by Dutch officials before any interview. Now they can blame Joran’s problems on a personality disorder that they created. Joran is a cocky guy caught up in the cover-up and throwing everyone off. This is called crazy-making, but I don’t think Joran was smart enough in the beginning to start the crazy-making on his own. He would have a long history of lying before age 17.
At this moment, it would appear that the Persistence holds the best chance to produce the evidence needed to prosecute and convict Joran. Short of that, future donations will most likely be channeled into the Bounty fund.
With all the death threats to Joran, Paulas & Joe Taco, they will be lookin over their shoulders for a long time, esp. Joran… He won’t ever trust anyone again - walking a living hell through life is just what he deserves. Her reply was the boys have to be
“tapped” first otherwise they would not have enough
material to begin the interrogations with.
When I returned to Aruba I again told her to arrest
these boys. Her reply then was that they were waiting
for video equipment from Holland because they wanted
to video the interrogations. Never before was an interrogation
video’ d in Aruba. Why they had to do this, could not
be explained to me. I was against it because never before
had the police used this technique, and were unfamiliar
with it because of that. But as before I am accused of bungling this case
while I had nothing to do with it. Janssen was acting AG
and she made the decisions During the case I have never
contacted van der Straten either in person or via phone.
Janssen has never informed me of the intention to arrest
the two guards. I have seen this on television while in
Holland. No one has ever explained to me why these men
were arrested, because there was never any indication
that they had anything to do with the disappearance of NH.
Their phones were also never tapped in order to have
material to start their interrogations with.

This really upsets me to no end! After three long years he finally admits the killing of Natalee and yet he still remains a free man. People really need to come together and fight this battle until justice is received. I assume if the search team “by the grace of god” finds her body in the sea and determines in fact that she was murdered, I see him still getting away with this crime. I’m very disapointed in Aruba they even show how much they respect and care for the Aruba Citizens, by continuing to let this crime drag on as if it’s okay to drug a women and plan to get a boat to throw her into the ocean. They care only for this one Judge and his son? Can we not offer them enough money to be on Natalee’s side? It only makes sense that there justice department is cover this whole crime up (as they have been from day one). Not only when she was alive but after she died! And, the Aruban officals have no problem with what they did! He called her names and talked about how he was going to make money on the whole thing and how lucky he was that no one found her. And, to make matters worse, he immitates her having her seizure. My guess is that the Auruban Authorities already had discovered the body and that is the reason this case will never be truly solved. The world knows JVS is responsible and he had help. The help goes all the way to the top, including the police, investigators and judges. If one falls, they all fall and we know that will not happen…especially if people feel their life is in danger.

I just saw a psychologist interviewed on TV about the person who went on the shooting rampage at Northern Illinois University yesterday. He stated that often parents are in denial about the warning signs that troubled children exhibit. That is Anita’s problem. Joran was treated like a prince. His reward for causing trouble in their home was his own living quarters at the age of 14. If only she would have curbed some of his nighttime activities.
It was only a couple of hours after the breaking Northern Illinois University story that Joran’s fate was announced. Once again when another horrific story dominated the news Aruba made their move.

Joran van der Sloot will not be rearrested for his role in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, according to a decision handed down by the Court on Aruba last night. This is not altogether surprising, considering an earlier pronouncement by the examining judge that the case is now technically ‘on appeal’, but it is difficult to explain. The main problem is that Dutch law does not provide for detention on remand for disposing of a body. It is indeed an offence which carries a maximum penalty of six months imprisonment, but one can’t be kept in custody pending such a sentence.
- INCOMPREHENSIBLE AND INCONCEIVABLE -
If, during the drives, Joran had admitted to doing something to Natalee, this would imply a different – more serious – offence, which would indeed have allowed for detention on remand.
However legally correct this may be, this approach remains incomprehensible and inconceivable to Natalee’s relatives. During five separate drives, Joran admitted to being present when Natalie died, that he didn’t go for help but rather had her body dumped in the ocean so that the police and her relatives could never find out what happened. As soon as the detectives’ investigations showed that he certainly must have been involved in the disappearance however, he chose to lie to the world in a despicable manner about his actions and movements on the night concerned.
- REWARD FOR SABOTAGING INVESTIGATION -
It is a bitter pill to swallow – one that I have also come across in other cases – where a suspect has disposed of a body and managed to get off scot-free. Why does one dispose of the body? It is almost invariably to prevent the police from establishing exactly what happened to the person, usually because an offence has been committed. Also, for intentionally sabotaging the resulting investigation, one isn’t punished but rather rewarded because one cannot be arrested. What is just is not always fair. I will try to explain the logic of this to Beth Holloway, Natalee’s mother, but I doubt I will succeed.
In addition, the Court on Aruba stated that it’s ‘impression’ that Joran is a systematic liar further underpinned its decision. Usually, the fact that someone tells a pack of lies in a case concerning life and death should be a valid reason on its own to arrest the suspect, if only for the opportunity to get to the bottom of the matter.
- ADMISSION WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE? -
One of the things that Joran is certainly lying about is that his admissions in the car were made under the influence of marijuana. I must reiterate that Joran constantly admitted his role during five separate drives. During some of them, he did indeed smoke a joint, as is his habit. However, the TV footage shows clearly that during some of the drives he did NOT smoke, or did so only AFTER Natalee’s case was discussed. And never for a single moment did Joran say anything during a subsequent drive to intimate that last time, he had been stoned and had sprouted a lot of hot air. On the contrary. Each time, Joran reconfirmed his involvement in the disappearance, augmenting his confessions with new details. And during this frequently repeated account while ‘under the influence’, he also provided precise responses to the unanswered questions that police and justice still have in this case.
Moreover, anyone who has ever smoked marijuana knows that it effect does not prompt you to admit to unsolved crimes. Where that is the case, police stations in the Netherlands and elsewhere would be overflowing.
- INVESTIGATION CONTINUES-
For all clarity, the fact that Van der Sloot has not been taken into custody on remand does not mean that the judicial investigation against him has come to an end. Far from it. The Public Prosecutor is working hard on the case in which Joran van der Sloot is still prime suspect.

Good. The courts made the right decision. The so called “confession” was so patently false, it reminded you of John Mark Carr’s confession! I know the group of lawyers here in FLorida who’ve been generously funding Joran’s defense will be pleased. Joran’s got an incredible amount of support here. Two of our local defense lawyers flew to Aruba with Joe T to help out with all the running around and finding the people they had to talk to. Good work guys!!

When I suggested many times that the only way to get “justice” was to hammer our (USA) politicians, not boycotting Aruba, I was told to f-off this was Aruba/Netherlands problem and they need to take care of it.

As I told you this morning, and as I have been telling you before, by our Dutch law this will not hold in court. The “confession”, it not valid as legal evidence in court. And what did he say ? the girl died from natural reasons (Rum 151).
So Joran is a dr. now that can determine that someone died of natural causes from rum151? It’s been stated repeatedly that Dr. Michael Boden said a person who dies of alcohol or drug poisoning goes into a coma that can last four hours or days.. A person does not die like that. Natalee as a healthy 18 year old. She walked out of the bar on her own.. She talked to her friends. Is that consistent with a person who so intoxicated, they are ready to die from it? No~! slurred speech, loss of motor skills, even bladder, anxiety, can’t walk without assistance, massive confusion. Furthermore how could anyone say she was consensually engaged in sex with him in that condition? How about a drug in the rum151 that needed time to take effect? Why does 3 men go to a bar at closing time and move in on 1 intoxicated female? Focus on that.. I can only think of one reason. How could they be sure she would want to engage in that? I can think of one way.. Natalee had been with her friends having fun for about 4 days and when these 3 entered the picture all of that changed in a matter of minutes forever..
As for a cover up.. the night Beth arrived in Aruba, before it was known Natalee was missing, Deepak’s car was parked behind the Sloots.. When people went looking for Joran’s house, there was the car parked that Joran had been in and one of the people wrote the tag numbers down on it. In Deepak’s police statement,,he says he was at work then the casino..doesn’t mention Sloots. Why was he parked at the Sloots and lying about it before it was known Natalee was missing publicly? When cops arrive and honk at the Sloots.. finally Paulus comes to the door… carrying his cellphone after he was woke up.. what a coincidence,,he needed that phone to call Joran , he wasn’t home.. Paulus leads everyone away from the house for over an hour to go to the Wyndham looking for Joran. Why? Why not say the cops are here get home? Why would he lead the cops to where his underage son was gambling past 2am, instead of saying come home, the cops want to talk to you? When Natalee’s family arrive back at the house,, Joran and Deepak are dirty and not even dressed for a casino, Why? When Joran arrived, he told Natalee’s family when he saw Natalee’s picture, he didn’t know Natalee or her name. One big fat lie.. Why would cops now believe anything else he says? He goes into an elaborate trip to the lighthouse with all kinds of sexual stuff, describing Natalee’s underwear and body parts, and that she is falling asleep off and on(Rape?). They all go to Holiday Inn to show where they let Natalee out.. Deepak and Joran show 2 dif. places and the guards who work there clothes aren’t even the same as Holiday Inn guards. More lies… Deepak then says they go back to the Sloots and Paulus, Joran and him are sitting in Joran’s room on the floor talking.. Where is Satish? Why was it important to take everyone away from the house for an hour or so instead of telling Joran to come home? Deepak says in his police statement, he then went home to bed, and chatted when he woke up then on to work, however Beth and Jug were at the police station bright and early to give a statement to Dennis Jacobs.. First he is using a slang word for bitch around them.. then is complaining he hasn’t had his Frosted Flakes or coffee and needs to shave.. so Beth and Jug wait.. but when they arrived, Deepak’s car is parked behind the police station why? He says he went home.. Reports of the Kalpoes also cleaning their car before daylight…for ants,,then it was sand..the night Natalee disappeared. Beth went out in the parking lot and sat on the ground, tired from waiting to give a statement.. Straten came out and said you can’t sit out here and made her go back in. In a bit, Jacobs comes out and says we won’t be needing your statement today. After all that? What was going on in the back? A couple days after Natalee disappeared, cops with Beth watched the Holiday Inn surveillance tape,, Natalee did NOT return to Holiday Inn, like the 3 said.. still the cops went out and found 2 black guards based on that stupid evidence, woke them up at daylight and searched them, arrested them and was holding them on suspicion of murder and kidnapping. Renfro came out and said the cops have good solid evidence against the guards.. What happened to it? 3 known liars good solid evidence? Still no search of the last 3 with Natalee or holding them and questioning.. Wait for 10 days while they are meeting with each other and Paulus getting stories straight and Paulus is hiring them lawyers. Straten was out June 5th said he didn’t believe the girl was alive anymore,, when a Dutch reporter asked him why..he said because he saw the evidence. Where did it go? A confession that something bad happened Dompig announced it..and they were being led to the body..then fake out,, just kidding..never mind.. Renfro and others leading this grieving family on wild goose chases.. None of the Kalpoes or Sloots went to look for Natalee, instead they were busy meeting to make up more and making derogatory remarks about the victims. This is only the tip of the iceberg of what we have seen and anyone who looks at this and thinks this is business as usual..has to be just a cuckoo as the people who did it.

Though you are Dutch, and I am American, we seem to share disgust at the corruption that flourishes in Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles.
Americans are outraged at the latest verdict that again finds no reason to arrest Joran van der Sloot in the Natalee Holloway case, despite his admissions of involvement that were taped over several sessions. We remember that, soon after Natalee went missing on Aruba, two security guards were arrested on no evidence at all.
Few people now believe there is any chance that Aruba will ever render justice in this case. For whatever reasons, the pervasive cover-up seems to control that island.
However, injustice in Aruba is by no means unique to this occasion. On the Rita Cosby show of April 13, 2006, American Tracy Allan discussed her assault on an Aruban beach nine days before Natalee vanished. “I signed a statement and they said they would look into it and I didn’t hear anything.”
A Boston woman, identified only as Marie, said that she was kidnapped and raped on Aruba in 2001. “Aruba is not as safe as the commercials make it out to be. As I was being pulled into the vehicle, screams came out of me … and people did nothing.”
These comments appeared on the Greta van Susteren show blog of August 6, 2006: “Apparently the island is inundated with crime due to drugs. … They try so desperately to keep it secret — I learned this from the natives.
“Crime is rampant on the island and word needs to get out. We type messages on the Aruban message boards to warn the people and they do not get posted.”
Nor are Arubans exempt from crime. One horrific case was reported in the Diario of July 27, 2006: a girl, 16, was gang-raped by her schoolmates, the assault was photographed on cell phones and the pictures were posted on the Internet. Her family ultimately left the “happy island,” with no arrests apparently ever made.

Even more sinister is the case of Amy Bradley, who in March 1998 vanished from a cruise ship that was docking in Curacao. The night before, members of the crew asked her to go with them to Carlos ‘n’ Charlies on Aruba. She spurned them, only to go missing in Curacao.
Recent photographs, and several sightings over the years, give strong reason to believe that Amy remains alive, in a situation of duress. Her family’s investigations have met with scant cooperation from Curacao authorities.
On the island of Saba, also part of the Netherlands Antilles, when American Joel Gove went missing recently, authorities gave his family minimal cooperation and finally refused to allow ‘missing person’ signs to be posted. His body later was found, but the family was faced with the prospect of having to finance a private search team.
There are other cases, but to report them all would be superfluous. What dismays the American people, I believe, is that the Dutch seem largely oblivious or indifferent to the reality behind the “tourist paradise” image that monied interests wish to promote.
I wish you to be aware that there is an active, and growing, grassroots movement among Americans that is concerned mainly with encouraging tourists to boycott Aruba.
We are hoping that our Dutch friends, having been awakened to the reality of what passes for justice in Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles, will take an interest in this.
As you are, to my knowledge, the sole Dutch parliamentarian to denounce the Netherlands Antilles, I wish to advise you of this campaign. It is entirely a volunteer movement, with no ties to anyone.

I was looking through my old files for the letter that Aruba Tourism Authority sent to me, back when we were getting the first boycott meeting under way. (”We regarded Natalee Holloway as our own daughter,” or something like that, was just one of the outrageous lines.)
Lo and behold, I unearthed this:
On October 25, 2000, a young Dutch woman named Suzanne de Vries went missing on Aruba. I had the family’s e-mail address, to which I wrote at one point with no response.
Have any of our Dutch friends heard of this case?
The name deVries is of interest.
(Never heard anything more about this case, just like so many others on Aruba.)

Mr De Vries says that Joran van der Sloot has hindered the legal process of establishing the truth. He also questions the view of the Curaçao court, as expressed by a spokesperson, that Mr Van der Sloot may be suffering from a mental condition. Mr De Vries says:
“It is curious for a court spokesman to say anything about a suspect’s mental make-up. As far as I know, Joran van der Sloot has never undergone any psychiatric tests, so the court is apparently speaking on the basis of impressions only. I believe that is improper.”
Meanwhile, here’s another comment, this one by Joran’s Dutch mouthpiece, that I would like to see subjected to experiment, and verification:

It came almost exactly a year ago. At that time, arrangements for the Boston protest, the first one as of that date, were well under way. ScaredMonkeys had given us publicity, and it seems that the ATA was monitoring things.
I can hardly imagine that I was important enough in their eyes to merit a letter. Here it is:

Unconfirmed sources report the bounty on Joran has now surpassed $50,000 U.S. Beyond amazing.
